I found his design to be original, functional and attractive. The work went along routinely with most of the work handled by in-house crews. I went with a second project with Ardo to redo my basement floor and remove mold. I stayed with Ardo principally due to the responsiveness and integrity shown by the owner Paul Arnold. The basement job was primarily done by outside contractors. Paul's oversight was first rate. My only criticism, not enough to dissuade, is the bidding generally is only to one sub. It's an old house, with a tight space, and an endless amount of obstacles to overcome in order to pull it off. We interviewed about 6 contractors and collected a number of quotes. A few contractors were not up to the task, while a few came back with either extraordinarily high or absurdly low quotes- and all of them had wonky solutions that seemed impractical. Then came Dominic. Dominic came in with a creative mind. His experience and expertise allowed him to problem solve and come up with a fantastic solution that met all of our needs, and more wants that we could've hoped for. Even more, his quote made sense. He wasn't the cheapest, or the most expensive, but he was fair. Due to a medical issue, there was a massive delay on our end getting started, yet Dominic remained flexible. Once we were finally underway, I was floored at how quickly he and his team worked. They showed up every day, on time, and worked precisely and efficiently. We were dreading having people in our home for several weeks, but his team was lovely to have around! They were polite, kind, helpful, and most importantly, skilled. I was working on several side projects (painting, refinishing cabinets, etc) and they always jumped in to help if they saw me struggling to carry something or lift something heavy. Every day they left the space cleaner than they found it. Not only are they skilled, it is clear they have an incredible work ethic and are just kind people. During the project, we wanted to change the scope a few times by adding in some flooring and a few other things that shifted the project a bit. Once again, Dominic remained flexible. He was there to offer advice- both in helping us stay within budget, while not compromising quality. And despite expanding the scope mid-project, he and his team only needed a few additional days to complete those requests. I've never hired a contractor for this scale of project before and I've heard all of the nightmares about poor quality work, lack of communication, surprise project fees, and delays in completion. We experience none of that with Top Notch Contractors. Dominic and his team delivered everything they promised and more. There were no billing surprises at the end of the project and even though we were satisfied with everything, he and his team were still touching up little things as they were walking out of the door. If you're looking for the Goldilocks of contractors- one who is skilled, fairly priced, and delivers on their promises, you can't go wrong with Dominic at Top Notch Contractors. So we did not park or walk in the concrete for 10 days. Mind you both entry ways to the house were done. I followed all directions of not disturbing the concrete. I also complied with advertising on my property. On Sept 22nd I noticed what was considered a "settlement" crack per Tim. He also stated that it takes a total of 28 days for the concrete to completely cure. I was told someone would come out to repair it. I continued to reach out and was told they were really busy. Then once winter arrived I knew they wouldn't be able to do the work. Fast forward to March I started tracking out again. They finally came in April to "patch" the crack. It rained about 3 hours after they left and it looked as if nothing had been done. I reached back out and was told that is the way it's supposed to look and they would be back. Well now it's June almost July and no one has returned and now another crack has surfaced. Although they have been nice and courteous the follow-up does not meet expectations. It'll soon be a year and I paid as agreed but the service once they get your money lacks.
