It was really well done and was neat to learn the history of hockey especially the Stanley Cup. Being from Pittsburgh, I loved seeing Sydney Crosby represented in the players area. It was also neat to see the skates, puck and sticks evolve over time. If you have kids (especially if they love science and now sports while the hockey exhibit) definitely come visit.

Although staff were nice, there was absolutely nothing worth the ridiculous fee for entrance (plus another 10-15 for parking). The Broward County libraries are a much better choice.

I was able to take my time, relax, and actually enjoy being out in nature without feeling rushed. I explored the lakeside, mud flats, and part of the South Trail, and the views from the tower were excellent. I also saw a few different bird species and some butterflies along the way. There's also an exhibit showing a model for a new aquarium that's supposed to open in 2028, which was interesting to see. As a longtime Hollywood resident, I can't believe this was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

There are many large sculptures throughout the gardens, they are all labeled with the name of the work, the artist and the material. There is a large market with sculptures of all sizes for sale. The exhibit is so large it is only displayed in one location per year. While we were there, there were two sculptors working on new pieces, both took the time to speak with us. Love is in the air at the Bonnet House, while we were there they were setting up for a wedding and we saw a proposal. A beautiful setting for both. They have special events throughout the year, including an orchid show and Christmas holiday wonderland. Guided and self guided house tours are available,$30-40, we opted for the grounds tour only, $15. The gardens are well shaded so even on a warm day our visit was comfortable.

Their dedication to wildlife conservation and education is inspiring and makes every visit feel purposeful. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and passionate, and the experience is both enjoyable and educational for visitors of all ages. It's wonderful to see an organization so committed to protecting Florida's native wildlife while creating an engaging experience for the community. Flamingo Gardens is much more than a botanical garden--it's a sanctuary, a conservation center, and a shining example of what can be accomplished through Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Release. The size is manageable for walking and the circulating tram provides a nice quick overview (and a bit of a rest). The paths are mostly shaded. The staff are truly dedicated to their mission. The wildlife encounters are informative and fun. The sculptures throughout are whimsically realistic. Everyone (except the cashier at the snack stand near the flamingos) was friendly and helpful. Free roaming peacocks and other critters make walking around even more fun. Give yourself at least 3 hours so you can see everything and time the educational presentations without being rushed. Things do run on schedule. It was not overly crowded at 2p on a weekday. Every fee was reasonable and we happily added a bit more to the donation boxes. A lot goes on behind the scenes in the care and feeding of the animals. They should somehow let the public see some of that-- I'm sure that would compel more donations!! Highly recommended and we'll return when next in the area.

Tickets for this were $29 each for adults and there was ample parking since it was located in a mall. It was worth it to take some fun pictures in some cool setups. The staff was really good at taking pictures to highlight the exhibit.

The Seminoles were the only Native American tribe never to sign a peace treaty with the US government. They come from a small band of around 200 people led by Sam Jones who helped them to hide out in the Everglades to avoid capture by the US government in the early 1800's to a Hard Rock empire with more than 500 million dollars a year in gambling profits from their casinos today. Located in Hollywood near the Hard Rock Hotel on the Seminole Reservation is the Seminole Okalee Indian Village Museum. Created in 1960, it was where the Seminole used to have a village where they would have education, alligator wrestling and animal displays. Today the main museum, Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki is located in Big Cypress Preserve in Clewiston. The Seminole Okalee Indian Village and Museum reopened in 2005 and serves as a branch of the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki to preserve the culture and heritage of the Seminole people. The small museum has displays containing clothing, tools, and animals. They also have chickee huts, festival grounds, and a small event stadium. In honor of November Native Heritage Month the museum was hosting a Pow Wow and marketplace. To quote the Seminoles "Thank you to the creator for making such a beautiful day for all of us to share in the Seminole people's heritage."

Great 20min glass blowing class! We enjoyed getting to build a large, beautiful item. A few things…read moreto note: - most items cannot be built as a couple/together. I called ahead & asked about booking 1 slot/item for 2 people, and was told that's okay. When we got there they clarified that only certain items can be built by 2 people (fish, turtle, flower), but they allowed us to also built the vase together. That means if you do this as a date night/group activity, the other person will sit on the side while you build your item. I believe they host couple specific nights (or you can choose one of the few items that is partner friendly). - this is a QUICK guided activity. There wasn't any pre-education on glass blowing, techniques, advice, etc. You are allowed to pick up to 3 colors and then you basically follow the teachers instructions for each step with heavy assistance from the teacher on each step. This isn't a class for someone who's wanting to learn glass blowing basics, be creative, or do most of the process themselves. It's VERY guided and directed. Granted, it takes people decades to learn large scale glass blowing, so I understand why it's designed that way. But if you're looking for more creative freedom/independence, I'd recommend checking out Glass Bubble in Miami. - In addition to the above point, you're not really sure how to make the piece "good". For example, our vase had a ton of bubbles and I'm not sure there's anything we could've done differently to prevent that (and we weren't warned about it). Overall though, this is a cool art activity and you get exposure to some of the tools of glass blowing while getting to go home [the next day] with a cool item!
