Scheduling the appointment online was quite easy and the program allowed me to complete all necessary paperwork beforehand. i arrived 10 min before the appointment and they took me in right on time. They did X-rays immediately and the assistant and dentist were very nice. The appointment did not last long and i was given two options to resolve my issue. The only reason they got 3 stars was the front desk. They provided Me two estimates and when I said I felt that the root canal at $1700 was high I asked her if my $200 for the appointment today would go towards that, she just handed me the paperwork and said no giving me no other options. read more

Dentist visits are either a neutral 'have to go' experience or one that for whatever reason is the last thing you'd choose to do. Dr Mousawi and his staff are amazing. It's refreshing to have a dentist who is younger and easy going. He truly puts you at ease, as do the hygienists, assistants and office staff. Very knowledgeable without being stuffy or clinical and condescending. My Wife is absolutely terrified of the dentist(I know, I know, so are 90% of people lol. She is above and beyond "normal" dentist anxieties), and she loves Dr Mousawi & staff as well. You can't imagine how glowing a recommendation her being able to go to see the dentist without severe panic is! I'm sorry to say that I have not had good experiences with Hampton Family Dental. I moved here from out of state. So I had a 6 month waiting period on my new insurance policy for procedures, other than routine cleaning and exam. At my first exam/cleaning, it was brought to my attention that I would need to get 3 fillings. I asked the secretary to book the appointment for the fillings for after the waiting period. Well, it turns out she made a mistake and booked my appointment 1 month BEFORE my waiting period was over. But it was confusing because it was scheduled for June 2, which is the 6th month of the year, so I didn't think anything of it, trusting they know what they are doing, since they do this all the time. Needless to say, when I got the bill I was shocked at the amount my insurance didn't cover. Since it was the secretaries fault and I had very clearly instructed her to book AFTER my waiting period, I feel it's only fair that they forgive the portion not covered by insurance. I have called so many times to get this resolved, and each time I get the run around, saying someone will call me back with a decision, and they NEVER do! This has been going on for months now, and I'm really exasperated. UPDATE: After posting this review, I was finally able to get this resolved. They split the difference with me. I wish this could have been resolved immediately, instead of me having to keep calling back for months! read more

My appointment that I have been waiting for for months was cancelled because I had not confirmed within 24 hours. I have never heard of an office cancelling a patients appointment because of this. I was away and wasn't able to answer phone calls or emails until the day of my appointment when I got back and saw that my appointment was cancelled. When I called, they said they have a "24 hour cancellation policy" that I have never seen. I have had nothing but issues from this office. From not seeing in my xrays that I had a tooth rotting from the inside out that they missed and my MOM had to look at my X-ray to tell me about the rotting tooth to now this absurdness. Never the less, I am pulling my files and going elsewhere. Please avoid this office at all costs. It's nothing but drama and aggravation. read more

I had a dental emergency that needed to be fixed, and they were able to get me in at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. Although I've always disliked going to the dentist (as do many of us) this practice makes it much easier. Staff is helpful and pleasant and dentists are detail oriented and knowledgeable. I've been a patient for about 5 years after insurance changed, awhile ago needed a back molar crown which I mentioned seemed not perfectly color matched at my hygienist visit (not requesting/anticipating anything). If I could give them no stars I would. My son had a filling done by them just over a year ago which fell out last week. When he went in to have it fixed they said it would cost another $200 after charging him $350 the 1st time. I have fillings that I have had for over 30 years and never had a problem. AWFUL. That's a nice way of putting my experience(s) at Hampton Family Dental. My first time there, I went in because they were having a cleaning and xray new patient schedule and I had a wisdom tooth that was KILLING me. After checking out my XRAYs, the dentist told me I needed my wisdom teeth out ASAP, which I agreed because one had been bothering me on and off for months. I scheduled an appointment to get all four of my wisdom teeth out that Friday. I wasn't to worried about having them out, because I've had 11 teeth pulled before! (My baby teeth wouldn't fall out, all had to be extracted.) They told us the procedure would be an hour/hour and a half TOPS. They said that was an overestimate too, as it never takes them that long, even when the teeth are impacted. So, any other dentist other the sun would have put me under general anesthesia or conscious sedation. All they used was the "laughing gas" which did NOTHING. I got a million shots of novicane and he started in. It took 3 hours! My whole body would jump in pain. I've had 11 teeth pulled, ribs and a hand broken, and this was the worst of all! He was soooo hard on my jaw, and it was pried open for almost 3 hours straight. I would have to point under my tongue and squeak periodically because shards of teeth and bone was getting lodged under my tongue and throat making it hard to breathe. The intern that was in the room watching felt sick and had to leave! They had me wear headphones and listen to music to not be able to hear the breaking and cracking of teeth and bone- it didn't do a thing! Tears ran down my face the whole time. I have a super high pain tolerance and I can't even explain how painful this was. FINALLY, 3 hours later, he finishes, looks down at me and goes *F*CK* and walks out. I head in to the waiting room and the girl at the front starts chuckling saying "OMG that's the LONGEST anyone's EVER been in there getting their wisdom teeth out- we were worried you died!" Comforting! So- for the next week all I could do was sleep, sip on frozen drinks, take pain killers and cry. The pain was beyond belief. Back to work in 3 days was BS, it would have been almost 3 weeks! I literally couldn't be awake or the pain was so bad I would vomit. I went back twice complaining of the pain, with a face obviously swollen way more then it should have been. They opened my mouth and sent me home with more pain killers, hardly even looking to see if something serious was going on. Each time I went back all they did was send me home with more antibiotics and steroids. The answer for all their problems, or so they think. (Mind you, they never sent me home with any care directions. Apparently, most dentists send you home with a plunger like thing to help flush out any debris from the healing holes. They gave me nothing. I went and bought it myself after being told by so many people that its SOOOO BAD that they never gave me one or told me how to clean out the wounds and prevent infection.) So, after a month of pain and swelling I was visiting my parents and in horrible pain. My face was swelling up and I couldn't talk, so I went to the ER. While there, the Dr. told me I really need to go back to my dentist and make sure he understands how much pain i'm in and something is wrong! They didn't find signs of infection, just a terrible wisdom tooth removal job. I went back to the dentist AGAIN the next day. This time, the dentist that did the extractions didn't even come in to look, it was the intern who got sick during the extraction. They did a full xray of my jaw this time. What did he see? NOTHING. And then, it was suggested I had pill seeking behavior! I am a person who believes in and seeks holistic/alternative medicine and healing 100&!! I do everything I can to avoid prescription drugs and then this place that destroyed my jaw told me I have pill seeking behavior!!?!!!?!?! So, for the next few months I had headaches everyday. The left side of my face would periodically swell and make it hard to talk and eat. I KNEW something was wrong, but just kept trying to tell myself a TERRIBLE dentist did a TERRIBLE job removing my wisdom teeth. A couple weeks ago (and more then 3 months after having them removed) I started feeling something rubbing against my back teeth. I knew it wasn't food, because it didn't go away. Finally, I had my husband look and he pulled a massive piece of bone from the 90% healed over hole in the back of my mouth. A piece of bone that they MISSED! The intern didn't even notice it in the xray! They try to tell me it's "pill seeking behavior" and basically in my head and then this sharp, massive piece of bone is pulled out by my husband! Now, I called around to different dentists, because it could have been something called a bone spicule, but it wasn't! IT WAS A GIANT PIECE OF LEFTOVER BONE! DO NOT EVER GO THERE, EVER! They caused excess pain, money spent and royally f-d up! BEWARE! read more

In from out of town working, called this morning with a horrible toothache radiating my whole mouth. Got in immediately filled out minimum paperwork, Dr. realized that I needed a root canal done due to bacteria setting. Was out by 11 and by this evening the pain is almost gone and did not miss my Tee time. And will be able to go to work Monday pain free. If I could afford it I would travel up here to see this practice from Virginia Beach!! I went to the Salisbury office for several years before the new office opened, which is more convenient a location for me. Dr. Boujida and his techs and front office personnel are supremely and consistently fantastic. They are good humoured, professional, and talented. I absolutely hate dentists and would probably have given four stars instead of three if I didn't REALLY hate dentists. But I do. That being said, I have been to Hampton Family Dental three or four times now and I am quite pleased. Dr. Mousawi has been very tolerant of my dental phobia WITHOUT being condescending (like so many of my past dentists). He answers all of my questions and seems to get me in and out quickly, while still doing a good job. I would recommend Hampton Family Dental over many other dentists in the area (and I've tried a few). His staff seems friendly and knowledgeable as well. Not incidentally, I had to cancel two appointments (one for bad weather, the other for illness) and I was not charged. read more

What a great place to get your beautiful smile! Relaxing atmosphere that relaxes you before your procedure. All personal stuff are super friendly and professional. Everything is done the way it should be. If you're afraid of the dentist come by sure the dentist and the staff will make you feel comfortable and their work is outstanding. I went to see Dr. Mousawi for the exam and consultation. He was very helpful in regards to my concern. He walked me through what he saw on my X-Rays in a way that I could understand. He let me know what my options were and how they would affect me now and later. Also comforting was that he was very honest about the financial aspect, which helped me make some educated decisions and plan for the future. He recommended to start with wisdom teeth extractions. I have all four of them. I did extractions last Monday. Dr. Mousawi was very gentle and the procedure went very smooth. I am still healing, but since the extraction I had no pain, my cheeks wasn't swollen and I even went to work next day like nothing happened. The problems that occurred after going to them made me so upset I canceled my next cleaning, never rescheduled and now going back to my old dentist. Worst dentist ever! I had to get my wisdom teeth out, all they used was novicane which wasn't enough. When he YANKED on my tooth and asked if I could feel it I winced in pain and said fuuuuuuck yeah that hurt really bad I was told of for swearing. Umm okay? When people are in pain they swear. He also sent me home with nothing to clean the holes with so they got infected. I refused to go back and just rinsed my mouth with peroxide instead. I also had a chipped tooth fixed and when I went back and told him it hurt and I think he hit a nerve I was told I was basically making it up and nothing was done about it. A year later I still can't eat anything in that side of my mouth. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! read more

The hygenist is wonderful and so gentle. Dr. Mosawi was very caring and to time to explain things to me and what I need to have done. I've been going to this Dentist Office for a long time. Melissa is my current hygeneist and she's very friendly and does a great job. Dr. Mousawi is one of a kind. At first, I was put off by the clinical setting. But the technicians and the dentist himself were excellent. Very personable, knowledgeable, and VERY good at what they do. The woman who cleaned my teeth was great, no pain and she did an excellent job, my teeth haven't been this white in years. the doctor needed to re fill one of my cavities, and what do yoy know? He could do it right then and there! No referrals, no "make another appointment", he was able to do it then. I will say, he was a little hard on my jaw, holding it open, but overall, the whole experience was waaayyy better than my previous dentist, and much better than I expected. When I went to get a second opinion, there were only two and the other six were stains! They will try to suck your money out of you. I would definitley recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new dentist. Because of past experiences at different offices, I've been pretty leary of any dentist, but after my first appointment with Hampton Dental, I'll definitely be going back to actually follow through with all of the work that I need. The office is very modern, with all up to date equipment, and the staff was super friendly. The front desk girl went out of her way to let me know what my insurance would cover, and what I would owe for future appointments. I had a cleaning, which went better than I thought it would...the girl that did my cleaning was very gentle, which helped me relax (the last cleaning I had a few years ago hurt so bad I never went back). I had a full set of xrays done, and then saw the dentist for an exam. Since I had not been to the dentist in quite a few years, he explained to me that I did have a large amount of work that was needed, but it can be done over the course a few years, which helped me not feel overwhelmed.
