In keeping with the simpler times this palace has seen, this cafe seems like the kind of place that would be attended by the commoners rather than royalty. It's a small spot between buildings which only seems to serve the sunny summer crowd.
After ordering we sat down to wait for our meal which took a long time, considering what we ordered. All orders arrived separately including our drinks. My friend had a latte and scone which she said was good. The scone looked about average but it was too early for her to get the full afternoon tea.
I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and a rosé wine. Both were surprisingly delicious! Unfortunately I did not take any photos because I was quite hungry. Fresh lettuce topped with a lot of tender chicken, the right amount of dressing and croutons. It was perfect for a light lunch.
Staff were friendly even if the service was slow. I was overall pleased at this tourist spot for lunch. They serve sandwiches, salads and afternoon tea specialties along with beer and wine. Casual enough for families. read more
