I had been looking at a pair of lamps. There was an additional 15 percent off today. I finally decided to buy the lamps, they are ceramic lamps. They still cost me $288 for the pair. One light was turned on in the store and the other one was not. When I got home and turned the lamps on, one of the lamps has an extreme defection with the ceramic, they're cream color so you can't see the defect until you turn the light on. It's a huge defect. When I called to complain or ask if they could do anything about this, I was tersely told that all sales are final. She said on the phone that one of those lamps had a defect that they knew about, but there was not one sign or any indication on the tag saying that the lamp had a defect. They were rude and inconsiderate, considering how much money I spent. I feel like they could've reduced the price a little bit more as there was not any indication that there was a KNOWN defect on their side. I understand that all sales are final, but this is beyond bad salesmanship. They're rude beyond measure. read more

Love the quality of the King Hickory and Canadel pieces we picked out. Made in USA and Canada. Our salesperson, Debbie, was also great. Like Ethan Allen, this place offers free design services. I will never go back to this store. I recall wandering around the Hampton House furniture showroom one afternoon for more than an hour before anyone approached me and asked if I needed help. That was my first clue that customer service is not a priority there. Months later, at the time of delivery, it turned out that the salesperson had failed to include a dresser in the bedroom set I ordered, and I ended up waiting months for the piece to arrive. No one ever apologized or accepted responsibility for the error. They blamed shipping issues, supply chain back up and COVID. The salesperson, Tammy's, reaction to the situation was, "Well, I always check." read more

DO NOT SHOP OR BUY FROM THIS STORE. Worst quality and Denise is the worst person to deal with ....just wished I would have read these reviews before becoming a victim of this store. My mom purchased a coffee table .. told them specifically I do not want the floor model. ...after 6 weeks.....they tried to pull a fast one....and delivered the floor model ...full of nicks and scratches ....had to fight with them for a refund ....her chair came 8 weeks later. ..missing a lot of stuffing from the back cushion ...all sunken in....Denise told my mom it was all in her head.....had to take pictures and email to her ...which she couldn't deny it was messed up. We needed a new chair to replace an almost 30-year old recliner. Stopped at a store we had never shopped at and decided to give it some thought. We opted to check Hampton House as we had purchased furniture from there before. They had the exact color available at a less expensive price than the other store. We were told three months, but it was closer to five, and that's fine. It's the norm at this point and time. Anyway, we really like Jim, our sales guy. They have decent furniture and my sales person was polite and helpful. However, the customer service manager lacks any customer service skills. I ordered my piece and was quoted 12 weeks. This was during COVID. It took 20 weeks. OK, I can live with this. But, when I called twice to check on it, she was less than empathetic. The piece was delivered yesterday. Unfortunately, the delivery men dropped the piece when in my entry way and broke the leg of the chase chair. Of course people make mistakes. OK, I can live with that. But, I did not receive any follow up call from the store with any plan. I had to call them and ask them what they were going to do. She simply said: I am working on the paperwork now and it has to go back to the manufacture. Then I had to ask how long it would take. She said 6 weeks. Being in sales and customer service my entire career, I find it hard to understand that during all my conversations, there was no empathy.....and after they dropped it, there was no suggestion that they may be able to expedite the shipment back to the factory! read more

Went to clearance sale the weekend before mothers day. Staff seemed pleasant. Bought a flexsteel recliner with 20% down 6mo. Same as cash the day of the sale. Delivery was scheduled for the following friday before mothersday great because it would be a gift for mom anyways. On delivery day chair showed up but delivery man would only except payment in full! Was quite rude on offered no means of rectifying situation. Needless to say my wife was almost in tears and definitely upset over ordeal. I was able to stop back by the store following monday. It seems there was a processing error and when that happens because all sales are final (read the fine print people) some that didnt pass through credit would default and loose their 20%! Saleman offered no real remorse for situation but gladly let refill a credit app at that time. He said he would be in touch for a delivery scheduling, which the best he could manage was 2 weeks later! I made an attempt to try and pick up myself so I chose a day they were open till 8, but surprise you cannot pickup after 5pm hmmmm. I would avoid this business due to the pure ineptness of the staff, whether sales not communicating to billing or the pure unwillingness to work out a smooth solution. Steer clear if you dont have the patience of a saint!!!! read more

This review is long overdue. Hampton House delivers quality service, quality products, timely delivery and reasonable prices. After moving to a new condo and having renovations completed after a 3 to 4 month period, we needed a new sofa for our living room. I visited 6 to 8 furniture stores in our area and not one could deliver in less than six months! Two stores said not before January 2023! I also shopped online with no success. I have many pieces of furniture from Hampton House and I should've gone to them first. The only reason I didn't is because we had moved out of the area and I figured being a high-end furniture store, they probably wouldn't be able to deliver anything sooner than six months either. Boy was I wrong! I walked into the furniture store and talked to a gentleman, whose name I'm sorry I have forgotten, and explained our situation. I told him I couldn't possibly go 6 to 8 months without something to sit on in the main living area of our home. He showed me a brand that could deliver a custom sofa with the fabric of my choice In 30 days! Then he showed me several floor models, approximately 10 to 12, that I could have immediately. About half of those floor models were stocked in their warehouse. They needed to make room for new inventory. I selected a sofa that was on the floor that they also had in their warehouse. It was reasonably priced (half of what Lazy Boy and Gardner White were selling for), is a well known quality furniture company with a 2 year warranty on the frame and was delivered the next day! I will never hesitate to go back to Hampton House when I need furniture. I will not waste my time at these other furniture stores and I highly recommend Hampton House in Washington Township Michigan. read more

We purchased a dining table, table pads, chairs and a buffet on January 21, 2021. In May we were told we couldn't get the buffet we ordered and had to pick out another one. Why that took them 5 months to figure out, I don't know. We knew the delivery would be delayed due to shipping issues - but it took 9 months to get the table and chairs, 10 months to get the table pads and we still don't have the buffet. The salesperson was nice and helpful, but the office staff is rude and "unknowledgeable". I put that in quotes because their standard answer is "I'll have to call you back." I just called today for an update on the buffet and the woman said she'd have to call me on Monday because there's no body there. Seriously? On a Saturday? I understand the shipping issues but this is Amish made furniture from Michigan. When we called around six weeks ago to cancel the buffet we were told we can't because they already started making it. So if that's true, why wouldn't they know when we'll get it? The communication from the office staff is not good and it leaves us feeling like this place is pulling some sort of scam (probably not true, but the way we're treated you can't help but think something's up). We're pleased with the table and chairs, the chair covers are just OK (they don't look professionally made and we'll probably have them recovered somewhere else) and I think we'll really like the buffet. The store is really nice with a great selection. We were happy with the prices as well. Despite that, we'll never shop there again. 4 stars for the salesperson and store, 1 star for the office folks. read more

We ordered a custom order, an Amish made dining table and 6 chairs. It was understood that the order would take about 13 weeks, but the order came in before that time. The price was not inexpensive, but after finding the very same chairs and table on the internet from an Amish furniture website, the price turned out to be cheaper than the internet. So far, our story is good. Five stars to this point! We would like to state at this time that this was our fourth purchase from this furniture store. We ordered the EXACT table that was shown on the floor, but wanted a different type and color of wood. The table that was shown on the floor was a self-storing table for two extension leaves. Our table came in without this feature and was returned to the store within two hours. My husband and I went to the store in person to correct the error and had to work this problem out with the manager, Denice. This is where our story gets a 1 RATING. Denice is an unreasonable, rude person to deal with. We were sitting at the front of the store, discussing this problem with our salesperson. Denice came to the front of the store, in front of other shoppers in the store, and while yelling at us, waved our order in our face and said "this is a contract". To make a long story short, she measured the displayed table, but ours was smaller. She admitted we did not get the same table as the one on the floor, but she then said it was our fault that we did not state that we wanted that feature on our table. We were not even aware that the table came two different ways, so how could we order a self-storing table? We were informed that our table would be sent back and changed to our specifications. My mom and dad, 89 and 94 respectively, bought furniture here. They took advantage and offered no discount off special price, tried to take credit for 5% discount for WWII vet when it was flex steel who automatically provides it and refused to offer anything for return/exchange when my parents realized how terribly uncomfortable. They were miserable and we went to the store on their behalf where the lady in the office was rude before we could even explain the problem. If they had said "take a minute and think about your purchase and we'll talk tomorrow" this would have been different. Nobody considers age related illnesses that affect our geriatric population. The only concern of the salesperson was his commission. The store obviously doesn't care about its customers after the sale. No wonder it's a small company with little to offer. office manager stated rudely, "NO refunds or exchanges". BEWARE!! read more
