The Hampton Inn Burlington is a newly-renovated and well-maintained hotel conveniently located off I-40 and US 70 near Elon University that offers guests comfortable, modern accommodations and amenities at a reasonable price. A huge thank you to Sasha and the rest of the front desk team; check-in was seamless, and everyone we encountered was friendly without being intrusive. The lobby is bright and welcoming. Our room was very clean and featured updated furniture, a large LED TV with plenty of content, a reasonable workspace with easy-to-connect WiFi, and individual HVAC controls that made it easy to manage the temperature during the night. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator as well as a coffee maker with four pods and teabags. The bathroom had plenty of space on the vanity for my personal hygiene items and this hotel has made the transition from providing individual bars of soap and bottles of shampoo/conditioner to refillable wall-mounted dispensers. The Hampton Inn Burlington also offers terrific guest amenities such as a complimentary all-you-can eat breakfast buffet and a small, but well-equipped fitness center. While we didn't have time to hit the complimentary breakfast this trip, it looked great -- with scrambled eggs, sausages, a make-your-own waffle station, yogurt, cold cereals and hot oatmeal, fresh fruit, and coffee -- and the staff does a great job to keep everything topped off and tables clean during the breakfast rush. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Burlington! PRO TIP: No Rules, Just (Turn) Right! The entrance is shared with the Outback Steakhouse on Longpine Road. We were in town for the Junior Olympics and didn't want to be right downtown in the middle of all the crazy. So we found this spot slightly outside of town and we were very happy we did. Our room was comfy, we had a great night's sleep, and the breakfast in the morning was decent for a free breakfast. When we got to the Olympics, everyone was complaining about their accommodations nearer to the site being dirty, loud, and generally terrible. So we were happy we made the choice to stay here and if we are back in town for something, we'll likely stay here again. read more

Very comfy stay! The lobby is modern, and there are plenty of "remote workspaces." I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. Coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby, and they also offer free chocolate chip cookies around mid-afternoon. The breakfast was nice, too! Aside from the cleanliness, the friendliness of the front desk staff might have been my favorite aspect of this hotel! read more

Our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites was really nice. The hotel is off I-85, a little challenging to get to but once you're in that close-knit area there are two restaurants and a gas station. The hotel is centrally located to so many schools in the area. If we're ever back in the Elon, NC A&T, or Charlotte area, we'll stay here. Thumbs up to the lobby, the comfort and cleanliness of our rooms was wonderful. Oh, I can't forget the front desk team. This was one of the prettiest hotels of Hampton that I've been to in a while. All rustic woodwork around the lobby and breakfast area with a large fireplace made it very welcoming. Staff was super nice get me checked in quick and got to my room to find it very clean, a bit smaller than normal but as it was only me it was perfectly fine. The bathroom was super clean and had a rolling wooden door that added to the design of the hotel. The window was small but the curtains ran the length of the wall and the closet was hidden behind the curtain! Genius idea! I actually like this better because I left the curtain pulled back so I could see my shirts hanging and not forget them in the closet like I usually do. I had two double beds with lots of pillows, good size TV working remote good band with for the Internet so I'm a happy camper here. Near my new corporate office so I will be staying here moving forward as the value, the staff, the cleanliness is what I expect out of Hampton and you certainly get it here. Breakfast was a Hampton breakfast and was spot on with smoothies waffles scrambled eggs bacon or sausage today yogurt fresh fruit again all the things I expect and see at Hampton. My office is in Fort Mill which is only 7 to 8 miles away and as others stayed at Marriott or other local hotels none of them have the value I had and we're a bit further away. Highly recommend. I'll be back before the end of the year for more meetings so get used to me being here. read more

Stayed here for five days in July 2021 while doing a baseball tour through North Carolina. Friendly staff, clean hotel rooms, and a great place to stay. I really enjoyed it here, as I generally do at Hilton hotels, whether they are Hampton, Doubletree, or whatever. Everyone was really nice and the one time I had a problem (clogged toilet) it was resolved in under 5 minutes and the porter even went above and beyond, carrying away the dirty towels I used to clean up the spilled water and bringing me new ones to replace them. Really appreciate it. People are right about the GPS though - it kept trying to take me to the back side of the hotel. Not a huge deal, and definitely not the hotel's fault, but worth noting. read more

Spent a few days here recently during some travel. The Hampton Inn is a no brainer for clean, friendly services. What I found the first morning getting into my vehicle was a busted out rear side window. There were multiple vehicles broken into. I did not loose any property but the replacement will cost more than my stay. I travel regurlarly and when the crime rate is high, hotels have 24hr security patroling the parking lot and hotel. I'll never stay at any property on Burlington, NC for-evah ! Speaking to locals they tell me this is a corridor just off the highway where incidents like this are common. I recommend drive further down the road to avoid replacing a window in your vehicle. $339.00 lesson. read more

This was a very nice hotel for the location. If you aren't familiar with the area to understand what I mean, it's a rural area compared to bigger cities such as Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte. I came down to attend my cousin's law school graduation at Elon so I was very unfamiliar with the area (thank goodness for Yelp). If you're attending anything at Elon, this is a great place to stay, very nice and very convenient. Golden Corral, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Outback are very close by. I LOVE staying at hotels and I LOVE LOVE staying at luxury hotels. With that being said, keep in mind you're in a small town. I gave it 4 stars for the following reasons: The common areas are really nice. Of course I saw the pictures on Yelp prior to booking, but I wasn't expecting it to be this nice. Check-in was pretty easy breezy. The young lady at the desk was a little chatty considering it was 1am in the morning and I had just driven 5 hours after closing my daycare for the day, but hey it's the south so expect to be engaged with nice words and smiles. The parking was great too. After check-in, I pulled around back and used that entrance because it was closer to my room. That area was really nice too. The elevators are even nice and move pretty quickly. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. There were so many choices. Biscuits, muffins, oatmeal, make your own waffle station, fresh fruit, eggs. No turkey options, all pork on the meat but remember you're in the south. They even had several toppings for the waffles including strawberry and chocolate syrups, powdered sugar and different sugars and nuts for the oatmeal. The presentation of it all was also very nice, I was very pleasantly surprised. Honestly, they are in the top 2 of best complimentary breakfasts I've ever had. And it all tasted great! The only reason I took off a star was because of the room. It didn't look as nice as the rest of the hotel. The beds could use some updating. The bathroom was really nice though. And we had enough towels which is probably the first for me in years. I didn't have to call to the front desk for anything, they had it all together. Back to the beds, the headboards looked a little old fashioned but still very comfortable; firmer than others but still very comfortable. The bedding was amazingly comfortable. I love soft and fluffy feeling pillows and they definitely had that here. My cousin is done with school so I probably won't need to come back, but if I did I would absolutely stay here again. read more

On the drive back from Charlotte to Chesapeake I was fading and decided to call it about 40 minutes from my destination. The handy Hilton iPhone app let me know that there was a Hampton nearby so I doubled back and arrived at my home for the evening. "The Good" - This Hampton shares the parking lot with an Outback so I was able to kill two birds with one stone by making a reservation and getting dinner so I could not only arrive but have everything waiting for me when I did. - Friendly staff that were fast and efficient. - Clean spacious room, which is always good. - Comfortable bed, as with all Hamptons, even though I left it off of the other Hampton reviews. They have a comfortable comforter and you fall asleep before your head hits the pillow. "The Meh" - Kinda weird to get to the correct road as the GPS always suggests that you "Turn left... recalculating, make a legal U-Turn... recalculating, Turn left... recalculating, Why did you mute me??? and why didn't you just make the left like I told you too... Really?? "The Bad" - Again nothing bad, it was a decent stay and a nice pit stop on the way home. read more

Well when we were on vacation in North Carolina we stayed here for a week. It was a very nice place to stay, it was new and the morning breakfast was good with a lot of selections. The staff was extra nice and made our stay very enjoyable. Would I go back? Since I will be in N.C. more often now I am sure I will. read more

Not bad, not great. I have stayed here a few times and the rooms have always been clean and pretty standard for the chain. The staff is friendly and there are plenty of restaurants and stores close by. My only complaint is the fitness center. There are only cardio options (only one treadmill, one eliptical, and one bike) and a few medicine balls. If they at least had a small set of weights I would have called it four stars. read more

Check in went extremely well and the front desk was very professional and courteous. The lobby looked renovated and unlike many Hamptons. I had been in, nice to have a break from the typical. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed. The weather was bad during my stay and the room was situated in some kind of wind vortex and the sounds all night were loud. Nothing I can hold against the hotel though. Overall great stay. read more

In the month of September I had my daughter an overnight sleepover here. She was turning ten, so we decided to go big. When you check in the inside was well decorated and the staff greeted you instantly. I had pre-booked our room, so I just had to show my ID and I was given my key cards. They gave me a brief description of all the amenities we could use. I took the girls to the swimming pool. It was big enough for all five girls. The environment was smoke-free and kid friendly. The room was neat and clean. We had a huge king size bed, a pull out and and we made sleepover tents. So the room was a nice size. They had no problems bringing us extra linen. The Wi-Fi was available to us, so they were able to use their electronics. Whether I do a birthday party or just a general stay I will definitely come back. read more

Room wasn't ready when we checked in at 4:00 even though we were given a key and sent up there. Told the front desk we had to shower and could they send up some towels. The towels never came. Kept up for most of the night by drunks screaming outside the hotel and a tow truck towing a car away at 1am. Second day our keys to the room stopped working. Second night the fire alarms went off for no apparent reason so we spent some quality time in the parking lot. NEVER AGAIN. read more

A-ok in my book! This Hampton Inn delivers what you pay for-clean rooms, a nice breakfast, and friendly staff. It is definitely not a luxury hotel and its location is only prized because of it's proximity to Elon University, but it is a solid hotel. I've stayed here 4-5 times now and have no serious complaints. read more

Checked in during furniture week and wasn't too impressed by the hotel. Check in was smooth however, I arrived to my room and found out my sink wasn't working properly. It wouldn't drain, so it was collecting water for the first night. No problem, I was switched to another room. But when I was switched to another room my glasses mysteriously disappeared. Other than that the stay was ok, but jaded by my troubles. I would recommend another hotel, but if you are planning to stay just ONE night it may not be that bad. read more
