Terrible towels. Felt like I was using sand paper to dry. We booked a king-suite room for $160 at night, you would think the towels would be a little nicer. Walmart towels feel better than the ones from this hotel. I call them exfoliating towels, because it scraped my skin. I expected better from the Hilton. The pillow cases, are also rough. Rooms are nice, breakfast is great, but have the slowest elevator known to man kind and that's if it works. Working 12-13 hours shifts, the last thing I want to do is have to walk all the way up the 4th floor because only one elevator is "working" and even though the push button works if doesn't go up or down, and might not even opens. For the price of this place a night that's unacceptable. read more

Everyone was absolutely wonderful. Upon arriving, we were offered bottled water, which was wonderful! Room was pristine. Breakfast options were plentiful. Lemon flavored waffles were yummy! Great place. And they even called my husband to let him know I left my knee brace. Service level isn't something normally seen. read more

I had a nice stay at The Hampton Inn in Dennison, the employees were all nice and helpful. My room was very nice and housekeeping did a great job every day. The parking lot was in great condition. My one complaint has to do with the free breakfast. The food itself was ok, considering the hotel doesn't have a real kitchen. I really didn't like that they used paper plates, plastic cups and utensils and didn't have recycling receptacles. The paper plates even said that they're recyclable! There were just trash cans. It might be something to be bugged about but I wish they recycled. I'd stay here again. read more

I understand the breakfast situation due to Covid. It was in a paper bag, an apple/muffin/water. But besides this the stay was quite disappointing. The hallways and rooms smell like mold. I don't know how else to put it. It just stank. It was hot and moldy in the halls. The bedroom a/c shut off constantly. We are certain that they are rigged to cycle off at a certain temperature because it never got cooler than 78 in our room. The vents in the bathroom did not work. Other patrons said theirs didn't either. The trash cans were overflowing with trash onto the floor. The pool was green and very small. Soda machines were empty. The snacks were outrageously overpriced. It was just not a good stay at all. I won't be going there again. read more

Exceptional for a Hampton. Affordable as well.. Though it is in the middle of no where.. But that is Texas... Weekly nights they have free wine & beer and some local foods, like pizza or chicken.... Also the free breakfast in the morning is standard Hampton, but it actually tasted better... Which was probably psychologically... but I'll take it. Horrible experience. Our bathroom smelled like a septic tank being in the first floor. The breakfast was really non existent and one of the oranges were completely moldy and the bagels were rock hard. This would have been a 4 star but our check in experience was horrid! It was like maybe 3:15ish which check in is at 3 pm , so when my husband and I walked in and no one was sitting there I was kinda lost? So we stood there for about 3 mins awkwardly looking around for a bell or something! The hotels cordless phone was sitting there on the desk so we didn't know what to do! My husband said he is going to move the truck to the other side by the pool, he called me to let him in the back door when he was done and the front desk person was still missing!! We were talking loudly hoping someone could hear us then 2 employees come out of the room behind the desk, a female which sat down and greeted us and soon after a male came out and said nothing and walked out of the building! He did work there bc we seen him the next morning.... like really ???? I'm not going to assume anything was going on but her hair looked like she was in a tornado!! Maybe she was asleep who knows but just rude to leave the desk unattended for over 10 mins!! the room was ok nothing like wow but I did have an issue with the shower head! It was on but the bottom was on at the same time spraying water everywhere! so it would fill the tub up with water .. just wasting water, and the ac fan would not stay on. Just came on when the ac did ! Breakfast was meh I expected better since it's a Hilton chain , but the can fruit was good. Would I stay again if the price is cheaper then what we paid which was 114$ for one night this hotel should be $79 a night because I stayed in better and cheaper!! Soo meh read more

I like to stay at Hampton Inn when I travel. The one in Denison surprised me, because it is beginning to show shabbiness shown in cheaper chains. The place looked and smelled a little funky. Half the lightbulbs were missing in my room. It was dark. The toilet is very low, and the seat was loose enough to cause a "mishap." Ice machine broken on my floor. The shower head was broken and nearly fell off. The trim on the shower safety rail fell off. Poor selection of soft drinks and snacks available as compared to other Hampton Inns. The staff WAS friendly. Food was meh. Look elsewhere if you expect Hampton Quality. read more

This hotel looks good on the outside, however upon spending a few hours in our room we discovered, the tub faucet was coming out of the wall, the tile cracked causing me to cut my toe, no hot water in the morning at 9 AM, and the pool and hot tub were closed for the season. I was planning on staying the weekend their, as soon as I walked in a got a bad vide the place looked ran down and the customer service was far from excellent. Front desk man Was was very rude to begin with obviously didn't like his job very much. I get to my room 401, it was not cleaned even saw blood on the bed sheets . Not to mention the water pressure was almost nonexistent. I ask to speak with a manger they did nothing make up excuses and apologizing saying it happens. This should never happen BLOOD ON THE BED SHEETS UNACCEPTABLE. That's more than disgusting in my book. I will never stay at another Hampton or Hilton again read more

Stayed last night. Looks decent from the road, but could definitely use some renovations. I was in room 325 and the ac/heat was non functional for the entire stay, the furniture in the lobby/hallways was torn up and when I woke up in the morning black ants were attacking my toothbrush etc. I also have a room with a fabulous pool view.. except the pool was green and mostly empty. Not sure why they wouldn't take the time to at least cover the pool vs leaving it as such an eye sore. read more

Tried to stay the weekend but they had no hot water for the week, later learned this has been out for three days and wont be fixed for a few more. I adapted to the cold shower but the carpet and furnature had more stains than my favorite brothel. I did check out immediately after discovering there was a room quarantined with bed bugs, now I'm going through the decontamination process and buying new luggage. We had an overall good stay. The room was spacious and clean. We had a microwave, cook top with 2 burners, dishwasher, small sink, full size fridge, and pots & pans. There was also utensils and plates. We got 2 Nice size TVs' with plenty of chanels to keep everyone happy. And this was on College tour weekend which is why we were there in Denton to begin with. Lewisville was close enough to get there quick and far enough away not to trap us in traffic. Now the reason for the missing star. THE BREAKFAST WAS HORRIBLE! I can't say it enough. Day one there was not meat or potatoes and day two the whole thing was like it came out of old school TV diner that had not been thaw properly. Other than that great stay. We had to stay out of town for an extended time due to my Dad being in hospice care. We had a great deal thru Snaptravel. The manager Melissa & her kitchen manager who served as front desk clerk during this crazy covid time were caring, concerned & had great @ customer service. Only one employee did we ever have an issue with for not being present up front & smoking something...hmmm Manager Melissa addressed it although he was there next day. They made sure there was always a sack breakfast. The room, an executive studio had ample room w/a long desk for us to work away from home. The internet, tv signal were not very reliable. There was a separate bar sink in kitchenette. I love the separate sink & vanity area from the shower & toilet. The pool would've been nice as we were there 10 days but it was neon green from algae although they said the chemicals were checked & shock had been added. Not safe. Need to drain, clean & start over. There were a few little things in room like non working lamps, phone & tub plug that maintenance will take care of since Melissa was interested in knowing what we noticed. read more

Beautiful hotel with an EXCELLENT staff! Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile by the male clerk who had my room key , literally, within 4 minutes. I walked into my very pretty room ready for a bath after a 7 hour drive and was very disappointed to find that I had no bathtub as their website said there were tubs when I made my reservation. I called down and nicely inquired about a bathtub, I was told the particular room I was in had no tub but if I came down he would be happy to put me in a room with a tub for the mis-communication when booking. When I opened the door I was surprised to find myself in a suite with not only a tub but a lovely kitchen, beautiful living area and a giant media desk diving the room into two areas. I took a nice long bath and slept like a baby in the big king size bed. I was so happy to hear that my every need was met, from needing plates and utensils to obtaining a fan to help me sleep. The room was SO QUIET I had trouble sleeping without it. Each day I awoke to an excellent free breakfast down stairs in the gorgeous dining room. They had everything from Greek yogurt to fresh waffles. I honestly couldn't believe this hotel actually lived up to the reviews. I had read the good reviews on this hotel, and I can see why everyone likes it. I checked in today, and the room is much better than what was shown on the website. Modern, in good taste, immaculate, everything I needed. I had traveled hundreds of miles, was very cold and tired, but when I walked in everything was perfect. The front desk clerk was professional, and so nice! The lobby had fresh coffee (teas and fruit infused water too) and I was happy as a clam to warm up with a fresh cup. She even put me in an extra quiet part of the hotel so I could rest since I had quite a long trip and was exhausted. I am going to stay here each time I go up I-35 North and going to make Hampton Inn my go-to from now on. They're always so good, and I've tried just about everything now and they're the best. First of all, I would stay in this hotel again, but it does not deserve 5 stars. The good: The dining area is very comfortable and the food is what you would expect. Better than a continental breakfast but obviously not made from scratch. I am ok eating oatmeal and they have a lot of toppings for it, plus greek yogurt, which I like. The rooms were comfortable and everything was clean. The bad: The cleaning people did not replenish the coffee or the soap/shampoo, etc. I was there for multiple nights and they did not replace any of them when they cleaned on any night. That was irritating because we had to hunt them down to get stuff from them - no offense, but when I stay at a hotel, I expect fresh stuff every morning. I don't get discounts for staying multiple nights, so I want every day to seem like a new day. Very skimpy. Next, The coffee was sometimes cold or empty multiple times during the day. They promote coffee all the time and this is the first hampton Inn I've stayed at where I actually had issues getting coffee. They only had oatmeal cookies. Look, I do enjoy the cookies and I don't want to be told that "we're out of everything but oatmeal". I would have given higher ratings, but they just don't deserve better. I have stayed here twice now, and just love it. They have GREAT rooms, super clean, and everything I need. The happy hour and breakfast had great variety, which was very impressive. Denison is a great little town. I just like to come from Dallas for a getaway! They have cute antique shops in the Historic downtown and some great nightlife. OHHH and the shuttle took us and picked us up from the local bar. Hampton Inn was my designated driver, love it!!!!!!!!! All the employees where very helpful. I will be back! read more

Months ago I sat up a block of rooms for my daughters wedding. Within hours I had a contract in front of me. One week prior to the wedding we drove from Dallas to Denison to check out the Bridal suite for photos. From the moment we walked through the door we were given the star treatment. Using the Bridal suite, the meeting room and the shuttle for our wedding they made sure we needed nothing. Everything was so clean and everyone was so friendly. They made the whole wedding day and even the day prior so easy for us. We are forever grateful for such wonderful staff and service at this location. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone. I have stayed in numerous Hampton's this year and this one was by far the most stunning. Adverse weather led me to stop at this Hampton in far North Texas, I never expected to find this little jewel in the Hilton family in Dennison. Upon entering this hotel one sees the attention to detail one expects in a boutique hotel rather than in a chain. We arrived at 1 a.m. and the night manager, who upgraded us to a lovely, spacious suite upon arrival, had the upmost professional demeaner. The next day we were greeted by an outgoing, warm and friendly staff who shines above their peers. This facility obviously has a housekeeping staff who pays attention to detail. Every towel was folded elegantly, even the kleenex tissues were tucked beautifully into the top of the box, and the rooms were cleaned to perfection. I have professional experience related to quality assurance in housekeeping and I did not find a single issue anywhere in the establishment that needed attention. Their cleanliness gets a perfect 100 in my book. Did I mention this hotel impressed the heck out of me? read more

Nice hotel marred by maintenance issues. Elevator out of service. Our first room the toilet overflowed and damaged some of our baggage. Everyone was nice and promptly moved us. New room was slightly better. But overall not up to Hampton Standards. Front desk staff was smoking outside front door filling the lobby with noxious fumes. read more

We stayed 5 nights as part of a baseball team of 11 year olds- they were fabulously accommodating to us, friendly, helpful, and just overall NICE. Don't stay here if you want to sleep in. Housekeeping began loudly vacuuming and talking in hallway outside of our room at about 730-745am. This lasted 2 hours & the walls are super thin here. I asked the manager if this was normal, and he replied that yes housekeeping starts early. The beds were super comfy, and the room was very clean. This hotel is awesome! I am a serious "germaphobic" and I like this location. I have been pleasantly surprised during all of my stays. From the second time I walked in and Jesse in all his hospitality welcomes me by name. And then again on my third stay. I met the general manger as well. I love this place. The hotel was nice, but we had called 4 months in advance to reserve adjoining rooms. We were told that they have 2 sets of king suites that are adjoining & made to believe that we had reserved one set. We had VERY specific reasons for needing adjoining rooms and it was why we had ultimately decided to stay at this hotel. I talked to the manager several times in the 4 months leading up to our stay (because of another block of queen rooms) and was always impressed w/ his friendliness. I always double checked that we had the block of rooms and the separate adjoining king suites. However, when when we checked in, we were given two regular king suites and told they "would get them as close as possible" and that they "didn't reserve specific rooms." Ummm...excuse?!? This had NEVER been mentioned as a possibility. Why even have adjoining rooms if someone can't reserve them?? Seems beyond pointless. They managed to get us rooms across the hall from each other and we made it work. It was HARD...but we made it work. What else were we going to do? We didn't actually need the "extras" of the king suites since they weren't adjoining. Regular king rooms would have been more than fine, we sprung for the suites b/c they were supposed to be adjoining. So, it cost us more than we would have paid and we by no means got what we had asked for. The manager knew who I was and avoided contact with me for the 3 days we were there. I tried to talk with him and he always disappeared. Nice accommodations, but horrible customer service. We changed hotels this last visit and loved our new accommodations in Denison. I am still just baffled at the uselessness of adjoining rooms that you can't reserve/guarantee. read more

A month ago I stayed for an extended stay while in Denison, TX for work. The facilities were updated and the meals were much appreciated however, it can not outweigh how marginalized the staff treated my reports of bed bugs. After two weeks staying at the hotel I started to develop bites. At first I thought it might have been a skin irritation to some product. However later once I begin finding them in my home after I returned one weekend I knew what it was. Upon returning to the hotel I informed the staff. While they did switch my rooms apparently they did not close my old room. Someone else could have easily ended up with the same problem. They did give me one free night but I hardly think that compensates for all the trouble I am going through. Since leaving the hotel I am now being ignored by the hotels manager, my phone calls go unanswered and voice mails not returned which I feel is just unprofessional. I checked out of La Quinta (Denison) because the bed was too firm in a King suite after being told that they had pillowtop mattress to check in with the Hampton Inn(Ansley in Denison). It was not any better; the water facet in the bathtub was a decorative piece; therefore I could not take a shower. I literally had to use the Ice Bucket to rinse of (2 times; so call shower at night and morning-wash hair). It reminded me of the old western days. I tried to call the front desk from the phone in the room and it did not have a dial tone, so I called from my cell phone and the person on duty said the maintenance person will be in the morning. I informed the person on duty in the morning that they could fix it while I had to go work for the day. I also noticed a man dressed in a suit and tie (guessing the manager) and Kristen said he was there checking on different things but he certainly did not verify if the work on my tub water faucet was fixed. When I returned to the hotel I asked Kristen at the front desk if the shower and phone was fixed and she checked the slate board and said yes. I got to my room and checked the shower to find that they worked on the shower head (see blue tape around the shower head) not the water faucet in the bathtub (knob to pull up for the water to come out of the shower head), so I called Kristen from the room phone (it worked) and told her that the water faucet for the shower was not fixed, so I asked her to come and check it out to see if I was doing what I suppose to. I also asked her if anyone else make such a claim. Kristen verified that the water faucet in room 423 was a decorative piece; therefore the shower did not work. Kristen asked if I wanted to change rooms or stay in my room but use another room for the shower so I chose to change rooms, but I asked her to check if the shower worked before I moved all my stuff. I asked her if the hotel would compensate me for any of this ORDEAL, and I received my receipt via email @ 1:53am this morning with the full charges, after Kristen said that she will make notes on my file. This hotel is by far the biggest JOKE of a hotel that I have ever stayed at. If this is what you get for $84 a night by having to use a Ice Bucket to Rinse off and in the Shower than by all means stay; if you think that you can get a better room at another hotel than by all means Run to the other hotel! read more
