Couldn't make it to reservations due to tornadoes. Tried to call to cancel or change reservations. The automated number told me that reservations could not be changed on the phone and the number was for new reservations only. Please refer to number in the email. We did that, and were told we were marked as a no show and they're keeping the money. Thanks for nothing I guess Update: they let us move the second day of our reservation so adding a star. May update review is hotel experience is good Update: they didn't move the second day like they said and now we have no hotel rooms....so, uh..thanks I guess Update again: they're getting us a refund and got us rooms. This is our go to hotel in Durant. Very close to food locations and some shopping. This is our 3rd stay. I used my free nights to book the 2 night stay so can't comment on normal price per night. The bed is very nice and comfortable and our ac worked. Breakfast was good and filling, which is included in your stay. This is a self serve breakfast option which we were glad to have. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful each visit. Having a hotel that is dog friendly is one of our top priority. There is a little grass area that we used and was clean. The large field was a land mine of dog dropping so be careful. Also if you have a pet clean up their mess. A pop station with bags would be a nice option but if your are not going to clean that would make no difference. Pool we got to use it one day as it was starting some construction on it. I booked this hotel a few months ago because of a concert I was going to attend at the Choctaw casino.The location was great and there was plenty of places to eat and go around the hotel.I picked this hotel because it got pretty decent reviews and it seemed like a safe bet.Boy was I wrong.First off when we got there we wanted to go swimming.So we got changed and went to the pool.To begin with the hot tub wasn't working.To add to that the pool was cloudy and a little dirty.So after getting out of the dirty pool we went to the room to get ready.Well when I got in the shower the water backed up in tub.So we had to deal with that.So we finally headed out to the concert and when we got back it was hot in our room and the air conditioner was blowing hot air.So I went up to the front desk and the lady to me to reset the plug.So I did that it it did nothing.So I went back down there and the lady came to our room and did the same thing.So she said she would be back but never made it back.So we slept in a warm room.The only saving grace with our stay would be the breakfast.It was actually pretty decent.So when I went to check out the lady asked me how our stay was and I said disappointing and told her what happened.She apologized and said the hotel is having several problems around there.What she could have done was give me a little discount off the room.If I get back there for another concert or just to hang out at the casino I really doubt I'll be staying here again. read more

This hotel is in a good location. It was kind of pricey for a weekend night in a town with not much to do but if you're going to stay here this one is not bad. They do have breakfast, just your basic free hotel breakfast options. The rooms were decently cleaned. Wi-Fi, pool and small workout room is available however the pool was closed so we did not get to enjoy that. read more

I hope this isn't the standard for La Quinta hotels. First, the reception staff was, perhaps, the best part of the experience. Very friendly. After that it was not what I had experienced before at any other LaQuinta. The carpeting was "grungy" looking. The room was clean, but furniture and bed were uncomfortable. The AC needed a new air filter as there was a thin layer of dust on the dresser and night stands. The WiFi is the worst. It did not exemplify the pledge to be Hotel WiFi that isn't like hotel WiFi. Slow, broke connection. The TV cable service only had those channels that no one watches except Hallmark. No news stations like CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, or even Weather Channel. What hotel doesn't have the Weather Channel? Not even NBC, CBS, ABC broadcast channels. Breakfast was good, coffee passable. This property is the epitome of just "a cot and a hot". read more

I used to manage hotels and service is key. My experience here wasn't good. When I arrived, the desk clerk was in a pink hoodie and nothing that said "I work front desk at a hotel". He wasn't friendly at all and stared at his cell phone a lot. I was tired so I just let it go. He told me breakfast was from 6-10am. I slept in a little and went down for breakfast at 9:34. All of the hot food was pulled up. I asked the lady in the kitchen if there was any left and she said "Nope. Breakfast ended at 9:30". Then I told her that I had been told it was until 10, and she said "Only on weekends". Really craving some hot food, I said "Would it be possible for me to just make a small plate with the leftovers you just pulled up?" (We used to do this in my hotel often. It gets pulled up and just thrown away anyway). She said "Nope. None left". She was so rude. She could have been. I've about it. That would have made the bad experience a little better. She didn't smile once. Neither did the dude from the night before. With hotels abounding everywhere, the ONLY THING that separates YOU from your competition, is your hospitality and service. I highly do NOT recommend this hotel. Their management should seek to hire and train employees to hold SOME kind of a standard. read more

Outstanding Hotel! Debbie was amazing upon our arrival! She went out of her way to accommodate our early arrival as we had been traveling a few hours to get there! Misty is a doll! Sweet and Excellent customer service! The ladies working throughout the property have above par customer service! Very clean big rooms, such comfortable beds, and AWESOME free breakfast! Super easy check in, modern decor, rooms are good sized with a large HDTV and a million channels to go with it. Desk with light and plenty of outlets for computers, etc. AC works well with wall thermostat and quiet operation. Breakfast area is large with big HDTVs at each end. The breakfast selection is about average. So, the location is a bit odd like described in the other review. The indoor pool has windows looking out at an overgrown field of weeds. The breakfast area was not cleaned up after sloppy clients left part of the food on the table and floor. The food dispensing area had two trash cans that were overflowing and not promptly cleaned. The public restroom had three empty toilet paper dispensers with just the center cardboard left and a new roll place on the rail above. The wrapper was on the floor. The car luggage dropoff and check in area was, for lack of a better word, cheap looking with peeling yellow paint with the guest parking area almost on top of it. About an average hotel with some poor planning designs and general area housekeeping that could be better. Have been to much nicer La Quinta hotels with an example about a half hour away on the way to Dallas. You can do better for almost $100/night but perhaps not in Durant. read more

The room was ok it was a bit worn but not dirty, every thing worked well and the second day maid service was very good. All was good, I probably would stay somewhere else because the location is a bit odd. Car lots , gas station , home depot and wal-mart all very close and very busy places. It's a shame to give even 1 star, it really is. Let me start off by saying ive managed hotels for years in California and I hold customer service to high regard. I also understand some of the pains that come with working in one. A friend and myself arrive early in the morning of our check in date so we decide to call and see if we can do an early check in. They say no and it's a strict 3pm c/i a little frustrating but I go ahead and confirm our bedding situation and they tell me I booked a King which I know is incorrect. but I also know a lot of third party websites don't guarantee bedding which is fine but don't tell me I booked a King when my reservation clearly says 2 queen beds. I get Sylvia Tobler the GM on the telephone after some back and forth she confirms that she can't do an early check in but will give us two beds for our stay. So we show up at 3pm and of course it's 1 king bed. But 2 beds are available the next day. The Manager on duty Gina Wagoner comes out and immediately has attitude, I ask her why she already has an attitude before we even discuss the problem(let me add she's wearing a batman t-shirt not sure if that's standard La Quinta attire) so after so more back n forth we decide to leave for the evening and find a different room. We come check in the next day everything seems fine we stay for our trip. When we go to check out on our departure date I believe the time is 1230 I hear a knock on the door housekeeper announces herself and walks right in. I'm assuming she sees luggage and walks back out. I had the deadbolt on so she obviously used a master key that bypasses that(which later I find that it was the executive housekeeper) which also im not ok with. Well we proceed to get our things together and walk down stairs. I completely understand were checking out late. I walk up to the front and the Mod which is Gina again(today she's wearing jeans no name tag. which I'm not sure how a manager dresses to work like this) is at the front I ask for a print out she tells me they're charging me for the night cause we're an hour late to checkout. She also says she called me 3 times which that didn't happen. Then she proceeds to tell me the phone was off the hook(which it wasnt) Mind you we leave about 15-20 dollars as a tip in a room. So my friend comes in and says if you're gonna charge us I'd like my tip back. She walks him back up and says if I go up there and the room is trashed I'm charging you. She comes down with a towel that was used to clean a spill im assuming cause I don't know where that came from, neither did my friend. Regardless it's a dirty towel that can be washed. I later look on my card and there is a $50 dollar charge for the towel(which she says it's $25 a towel) as well as the extra night for the room of $108(which was higher than any other night) and an additional $5 charge. She charges me so then the room is mine for the night right? But no she checked me out. I've just never dealt with anyone so unprofessional in my life, unbelievable. I proceed to tell her how ridiculous she's being and that I would be filing a complaint. She tells me they're a franchise and it doesn't matter. After a busy day on the road we were ready for rest. After reading reviews we chose LaQuinta as we have a Yorkie. NO FEE that's nice!! Thank you!! So glad you are pet friendly!! Called ahead and had room waiting on us. The staff was very friendly and the room was GREAT! It got a 4 because the TV kept losing the sound we called and they said to unplug it and it would reset.. well this went on the rest of the evening up and down up and down finally gave up and went to bed early.. from the review I read this is a problem and one that hasn't been addressed, so they really need to look into what's going on with this and fix the problem instead of having customers unplug to reset!! The morning food was really good!! Everything was clean!! The staff friendly!! Would consider again if the TV works!! read more

Absolutely do NOT stay here!!! We have tried staying here twice and both times they have messed up our reservations. I called to verify that my reservation was correct after booking online and they confirmed , I called again today just to double check and they told me we were in a different room with no way to change it due to they are full. When I said I don't understand the general manager kept cutting me off not letting me finish speaking. She told me I was a liar and there was nothing she could do. When I asked for her name for the second time to call corporate she yelled it at me and started spelling it slowly. Customer service is horrible and I would never stay here or recommend anyone stay here! I will be in touch with corporate for the way she spoke to me, not letting me speak as well as yelling at me and calling me a liar! read more

This hotel is so pet friendly! It amazed me. Dogs everywhere and it felt comfortable walking around with our pet. The hotel itself is great! The staff was so friendly! My family and I always stay at LaQuinta because we can bring our beloved family pet, no questions asked, never a problem. We also like staying at LaQuinta because we get the AAA discount, breakfast is included, and there is usually an indoor pool and hot tub. The Durant location is near the casino and there is a restaurant for everyone in the area ( IHOP, Apple B's, Whataburger, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, anything you could need is right near the hotel. The shuttle also comes to pick-up guest when called by the hotel. The hotel was very clean and inviting. There is plenty of parking space. We had no problem getting checked in, and the hotel staff greeted us as soon as we walked through the door. The staff was awesome and very accommodating. The lobby was always stocked with coffee or juice. The breakfast buffet was Amazing, and the staff extended the breakfast hour to make sure the many quest could eat. The pool temperature was nice and comfortable, not too cold. The hot tub was fantastic. There is also a nice workout room. Checking out of the hotel was just as easy as checking-in. There were no surprise fee's etc. My family and I had a fantastic stay and can't wait to stay again. Thanks to all. read more

I stayed here last summer with my husband. The first thing that we noticed was how nice and modern and clean everything was. The second thing we noticed was how wonderful the AC was! In July in the Oklahoma heat, that is super important. The staff was very friendly and we were very pleased with our room. We recommended this place to a friend about a month ago and took him to check in. We were disappointed to find out that the place no longer accept any cash for rooms, even if you leave a credit card on file. Other than that, they would have received five stars from me. read more

Was not impressed. The girl that checked me in acted as if it was bothersome to do her job. Never asked for my ID, never greeted me or smiled. Then the next morning we had to wait multiple times for the elevator....one of which was a 10 minute wait which put us downstairs for breakfast at 9:04, to which the doors were closed and we couldn't get our meal. First let me say the hotel itself is beautiful with modern décor and very clean rooms. My 2 star rating is based off the customer service I experienced during my stay September 10, 2016. My wife booked our stay about a month and 1/2 before our arrival on Booking.com. We have used booking.com on almost everyone of our hotel reservations without any issues because we always get great deals and the fact that if you cancel within 24 hours of the reservation date, there is no penalty. We went to Durant, OK to see Duran Duran in concert at the Choctaw Casino and chose La Quinta because of the price and the offer of free shuttle service to and from the casino. There were 4 in our party and we split the cost. We were all set for a fun stress free weekend, at least we thought. When we checked in my wife provided our credit card, as is custom in any hotel stay. What the front desk failed to address was that there were 2 different credit cards on file and they proceeded to charge both cards for the stay. They explained one would fall off, ok no big deal, it will get taken care of. We arrive to our room and there is only 1 king size bed and sofa in the room. My wife immediately went back to the front desk and explained this is not what we reserved and there were 4 in our party and not enough sleeping space. The young lady at the desk explained to my wife this was not their error but booking.com's error as that is what they sent to reserve for us. My wife pulled up our booking.com and the email confirmation clearly showing we reserved a 2 queen beds room. The young lady insisted not their error, so my wife ask to speak to the manager, Sylvia Tobler, and was told she is not on site so my wife ask to speak to anyone in management, the reply we have no management on site. The young lady said she would call Sylvia on the phone to see what can be done, Sylvia's response not their error therefore they could not accommodate our need. She once again stated this is not their fault and put all the blame on booking.com. My wife explained well even if it was booking.com's error, to provide good customer service they should accommodate the need for 2 beds. Sylvia stated sorry we are booked solid and nothing can be done. The young lady at the desk did remind my wife the sofa is a full size sleeper that can be utilized. Ok, so I stated we went to see Duran Duran, we are in our late 40's and a couple in our party in their early 50's and a thin mattress sofa sleeper is not ideal when dealing with bad backs. After all the hassle at the front desk, we decided we will make the best of the situation, so we proceed to our room. When we get to the room we proceed to pull out the sofa sleeper bed, it has no sheets, no blankets, and no pillows. They tell us to use but provide none of the bedding needed for the pull out? I go to the VERY nice cleaning lady outside our room and ask for the needed items to make the bed. She happily provides the bedding that I requested, I have to say this lady was the best thing about the hotel. When my wife called and asked about taxi service to and from the hotel/casino, we would be drinking and didn't want to drive, she was told we have shuttle service is free and runs every 10-15 minutes. PERFECT right? Not so, I called down to the front desk, with almost 2 hours prior to the concert, and told the shuttle is en route and we should come down ASAP to catch. We get down there and wait for over an hour, we arrived at the casino 40 minutes before the concert was to begin. We were planning to eat dinner prior to the concert, lets just say that all restaurants stated they could not guarantee we would eat in time to make the concert, so we did not eat. After a great concert and after eating a late night snack, we get back to the hotel and the pull out bed was horrible. It was so thin all you could feel were the bars digging in your back. No rest was to be had and around 4AM finally passed out on a chair. I was up and awake by 7AM with terrible back pain. 3 out of the 4 ended up in an uncomfortable situation and tried to share the king size bed just to get some sleep. I have since files a complaint with La Quinta's corporate office regarding all we went through and the nice lady Akia apologized profusely. She has opened a case and has assured me this should have never happened and that an investigation will be conducted. She asked if I would ever stay at a La Quinta again, yes just not at this one. There was a run down hotel down the street that could have probably been more comfortable than this. WATEVER you do, DO NOT stay at the La Quinta in Durant, OK. Sylvia should be reprimanded and retrained on what customer service is all about. Imagine the idea that providing good customer service might get you repeat business. Very disappointed, no customer service. I Called the hotel before booking to ask if the pool was working (only because the last hotel I stayed at the pool was not working), the lady that answered the phone told the pool was operational. I booked a room for my husband and 4 small children. After checking in, unloaded, and changing in to swimming suit did we find out the pool was closed and had been for a WEEK, and processed to tell my husband it was posted on their website. I got on the website and did not see anywhere where it said the pool was closed. I called to speak with the manager she was unavailable, they read me my phone number off the called ID to call me back on. When the manager called me back she was very rude and she told me she had been there all day and she didn't know who would have told me the pool was open. I told her since she had caller ID she could see that I had called earlier that day to make sure the pool was open. She said the only thing she could do is give me my money back and we could leave. By the way it is now 8:30 at night and any parent with small children does not want to load everything back up that late. I told her the mini fridge in the room did not work as well. At this time the manager has left for the day. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could just simply have a discount (since I'm not getting what I paid for) and it is late I don't want to switch room or hotels by this time. She told me she would call her manager and call me back. 30 minutes went by and I DID NOT receive a phone call back. I called again, she told me she tried to call the phone but for some reason it wouldn't connect her. So now the phones don't work either!!! DON'T STAY!!!! this hotel is running some kind of scam with corp credit card numbers. the first time they charged it for smoking in the room we were not smoking in. we had no choice but to stay and pay due to the fact that what the company said. then they charged my personal card for a week that was already paid for. took me two weeks to get my money back and now because i finally got my personal money back they charged the corp card again for smoking which we were not and said that my dog pissed every where which she did not. the front desk manager and the property manager are good friends and they are charging cards left and right to see what will get paid and they are taking the money. all the while that same front desk manager and the cleaning staff are smoking in the room and in the indoor pool area. i saw it with my own eyes. do not give them your credit card number they will steal from you. read more
