We had a lovely stay at the Hampton Inn while passing through Exeter. Decent walking location to some local restaurants and adjacent to Exeter Hospital. The rooms were very clean, large, and quiet with ample (free) parking. Typical Hampton Inn breakfast, nothing to write home about but overall very impressed with our stay. read more

Two night stay here was great! The bed was comfortable, room was clean without smelling like chemicals, staff was friendly. Pool was a nice touch but wish it was heated! My wife and I stayed at this Hampton in for two nights while visiting in New Hampshire. Hotel is fairly centrally located and appears to be fairly new. It was in good repair and very clean! My wife and I stayed on the first floor next to the pool. There was a kids party, but they did quiet down at the hotel quiet hour of 9 PM. The room is spacious and well-kept. I used to stay at this hotel all the time. I was a regular. I also used to enjoy my stay until yesterday. First, I was forced to stay on the third floor, when I prefer the fourth. While I stayed in the room I had nothing but complaints about the guests staying in the room above us. Called the front desk a handful of times about the noise and stomping from children. It was very noisy. Later we were able to switch rooms- without a complimentary free night I might add! For the inconvenience! (I am a Hilton Honors member as well) This stay was absolutely horrible! And to add on to that, when we had to switch rooms they down graded us to a smaller room!! I was infuriated! Everything else about our stay was average to say the least. But, I will not be booking there ever again. Horrible experience. read more

3/14/20 Came here due to work bringing me out this way. I've always loved staying at the Hamptons because of the way their hotels are run. From the front desk assistance to the clean room and beds. As well as all the various amenities the hotel has to offer. I got to enjoy the fitness area and got breakfast from the dinning area. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean, orderly, and in a decent area. Upon checking in the staff was nice and friendly. However upon getting breakfast the next morning my disabled wife was told she was not allowed to get breakfast. My wife is legally disabled with a professionally trained service dog. The dog was wearing her vest labeled service dog (which is not actually legally required). One of the hotel staff told her she could not enter the breakfast area despite this. She told us her manager said no dogs no matter what. Not only drawing attention to us that made things very awkward, but also creating an unaccepting environment for us. This is not only illegal but immoral as well. You wouldn't tell a blind person they could not get their breakfast, you wouldn't tell someone with a cane or oxygen they couldn't enter because of their disabilities. Just because my wife had a disability which you cannot see, does not mean she's not disabled. We stay at dozens of Hilton's every year and are Diamond members and are very disappointed in this stay. Do better Hilton Exeter, so disappointing to be treated this way. read more

A pretty good Hampton inn... perfect for the business traveler. All the usual Hampton Inn stuff. Easy check in and out. They even offered us extra bottles of water on our way out. The room was decent size. The desk area divides the sofa area from the bed area. Small kitchenette with microwave is a bonus. Extra large screen TV. As usual breakfast is included. Only small negative thing is that the eggs, et al weren't hot enough, but the gal was nice enough to zap (microwave) them for me in the kitchen per my request. I usually only write reviews when my experience is either amazing or horrible. This visit was exceptional! Very clean and comfortable room. We checked in very late due to a delayed flight and Kaitlyn Greeley at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating. I would also like to add that she was the most normal and efficient night staff person I have ever met anywhere and we travel A LOT. (Do whatever it takes to on to this girl Hilton!) First off right off the highway easy to find, McDonald's and a good pizza place very close to the hotel, free buffet breakfast from 7:30 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. kind of a smaller hotel three floors hotel staff very nice they gave us free spring water bottles checking in, Carl the gentlemen who checked us in very nice, I am a Bonvoy member so with that my AAA membership and senior discount the bill $ came to $288.00 dollars for a Saturday -Sunday check in 3:00 P.M. check out next day 12:00 why not 5 stars we were excited to go into the salt water pool it looked so inviting and very clean I jumped in VERY COLD!!! I can deal with a little cold but it was VERY COLD! my girlfriend said same thing so after 30 seconds we left otherwise I would have them a strong 5 stars and yes I would have come here again we both came here to see the car races New England Dragway and Star Speedway is 6 miles away in Epping N.H. read more

Amazing place with convenient access to shops, restaurants and gas stations. I was able to walk across the street to a super cute brewery/restaurant for dinner, grab a tea from Dunkin Donuts in the parking lot each morning and even walked down to Walgreens and to get a bang trim from a super cuts Just up the road. The check-in process was super easy, and the staff was friendly our entire stay. The hotel seems very new, and I was shocked at how nice and large my room was! It has a large workspace, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in in a while, and a perfect little kitchenette space. The hotel isn't cheap, but it's definitely very nice! read more

A whiff of smokes greets every entry into hotel because of the people who smoke right in front of the lobby that the hotel does nothing about. In fact, they provide ashtrays. Stay away from the Hampton if you are a non smoker who doesn't want to breathe in second hand smoke when you enter the lobby every time. All the front desk had to say is sorry. Love it here! It's pretty standard for a Hampton Hotel. The front desk staff are all friendly, super nice and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and large. Very clean. The cleaning staff made our beds really wonky after the first night, but it was still nice to come back to a cleaned up room. Shower is nice and large and has a massaging shower head. The complimentary breakfast has more things than typical, like fruit salad, smoothies, bacon etc. Breakfast was nice, but gourmet, but free and does the job. I like that they have coffee available throughout the day, and the pool is salt water and the jacuzzi is nice! read more

I stayed at this Hampton Hotel for a night last week. My time here was brief, but it met all of my needs as a business traveler. My room was huge, I'm not sure if it was an upgrade or not but it was very nice! It was equipped with both a microwave and a mini fridge so I was able to nuke dinner after a long day on the road. The best was comfy and the bath tub was large. They also had a large desk with numerous plugs. There is nothing I hate more than an old hotel with difficult to find outlets. Seriously! It is 2011, people need to charge their cell phones. The internet was pretty slow, but that is typical of most hotels. Overall, I liked this Hampton Inn better than most Hampton Inns. This appears to be a newer hotel, overall the stay was fine and met expectations. Was disappointed that the rooms were not cleaned daily. At checkin, we were told we would have to request the room to be cleaned the night before in which we did at that time. The room was never cleaned. The tub appeared to be a little worn and we had to listen to a screaming child two nights in a row. Those issues aside, I would stay at this location again. read more

Excellent one night stay here on New Years. Was able to book the day prior and the rate was still really reasonable. Front desk staff was super helpful and accommodating. Room was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Huge bathroom and nice additional touches. Breakfast in the morning a step above continental and decent enough for what it is. It appears they have coffee all the time which is also a nice touch. Would highly recommend, and maybe even consider an alternative to staying in Portsmouth. read more

I am still giving this hotel a solid 4 stars. I have been staying here 1-3 times a year for the last 3 years. The rooms are great, no complaints there. Everything is modern and clean. This time I am happy to report that the orange juice is finally not watery, very happy about that. I tried the pool and hot tub for the 1st time this trip. The pool while nice was very cold. Didn't want to drive home after a long day so we needed a place to stay for the night. Price was reasonable so we picked this place. Impressed with the overall experience. We checked-in very late but the front desk person was super friendly and helpful. He offered us a few bottles of water and was quick to get me extra pillows. Place was modern and clean, good vibes all around. I also liked the room; spacious, clean, and no suspicious stains to be found anywhere. Superbowl Sunday, we were informed hotel unable to get station for the game, suggested we go across the road to Muddy Mouse, advised would not have stayed if known, James was most apoligetic called Marriott and got accomaditions and packed up in a hurry. The check in was ok. I wanted to pay cash as I do any hotel I stay at. I'm uncomfortable paying with a credit or debit. I was told a Card needed to be on file in case any damages occurred and I could pay cash at check out which is understandable. I asked multiple times if he was absolutely sure my card wouldn't be charged he said yes. I went to check out and the girl at the desk said my card was already charged. It was charged $157 and some change which was MORE then the price on Expedia. I was only supposed to pay $130. The girl told me she could cancel and I would be reimbursed in 5-7 busy days. Well my bank account ended up negative. I specifically asked at check in and the guy told me it would be fine. I am very upset. I'm a single mom of 2 children I live check to check. The girl also told me it's cooperate policy which is absolute bull. I stayed at a Hampton inn and suites about a month ago and I payed cash AT CHECK IN. The room was nice and I was comfortable. The pool wasn't swimmable it was absolutely cold. After this incident with my payment I will not stay here again. I am calling cooperate and I will not stop until I get a reimbursement for at least my overdraft fee. The girl at the front desk was of absolutely no help and the guy that checked us in CLEARLY had no idea what he was talking about. Hampton Inns can tend to be a 'hit or miss' for accommodations and service. Lucky for us this was a great experience on all levels. Room was clean, spacious and competitively priced. The service was the best from the front desk (she was great!) to breakfast pick up as they encouraged you to take what you wanted and provided disposable trays to transfer to rooms. In this time of covid, service is so important and definitely a tie-breaker. The only issue is that they were a bit shy to push the 'no mask, no service' which is unfortunate as a guest passed through the lobby while we were registering. read more

My family and I stayed here on June 14th, 2020 for one night. We were moving to Maine and we had just drove 15 hours from North Carolina and we were all tired. The hotel is very nice! The lobby is great. They had coffee and teas out to enjoy and a little area to buy drinks, snacks etc. The guy at the front desk was so courteous and polite. We stayed on the 3rd floor facing the back of the hotel; which was great for us...super quiet. We had 2 queen beds, which were very comfortable. We also had our dog and 2 cats with us and we were all comfortable in the room without feeling like we were all on top of each other. There is a Dunkin Donuts right next to the hotel so it was easy to grab breakfast. The area is nice. There are plenty of gas stations right there and stores (Walgreens etc). The highway is right there too, so it's easy to get back on the road. I would definitely stay here again. Great hotel!!! read more

Stayed one night with my husband & pup. Arrived very late and had a warm welcome as soon as we got there. Front desk staff was extremely friendly & accommodating. They even offered us dog biscuits for our pup. Our room was very clean and on the first floor with easy access to take our dog out. We only stayed the one night & didn't have any of the breakfast in the morning but it smelled great! Upon checking out, the staff behind the desk was clearly having a rough morning and was complaining about her job to me which was a little off putting but understandable. Hotel is fine. Watch out for local small town provincial fees " because they can" stuff. I arrived at noon which is a few hours before check-in time. I'm a seasoned traveler I know the drill, sometimes the room is ready sometimes it isn't, I don't usually expect anything special. This time I arrived and the room was ready but I was still charged a $25 fee because I showed up early; this is absurd when you think about it. I could've sat in the lobby for three hours, consumed unlimited amounts of complementary beverages and then gone to my room and saved $25. I think it's ironic that when you roll into a four-star hotel in a big city also managed by Hilton this would never happen! Shouldn't people in small towns assume or expect to get better service than a big city isn't that the movie cliché? Anyway be where at this location! read more

Evidently I was a lot less impressed by this hotel than everyone else who stayed here! I will say that the room was clean and up to snuff the with standard cookie cutter hotel rooms. It was clean and in good shape. I'd say this is the most important thing but also what you'd expect from a hotel at the price it is. That said, the girl at the front desk was not the most friendly and when I got to the front desk, she was talking to someone who appeared to be a friend of hers and made me feel like I was interrupting her asking her where a good place to get food is locally. In addition, I found their breakfast to be mediocre, particularly when the orange juice seemed watered down compared to most hotel juices at hotels. I also went to the front where they have hot water and coffee after running a bit to get some hot water and the water was empty and no one was at the front desk. If 3 stars is A-ok, this is definitely a 2 in my book! read more
