First, I have stayed here several times. All the previous times, I believe I stayed in a king suite room. This past weekend, I was in a regular king room 220. First impression this time did not go well. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was cold when we arrived at check in. The room was as expected with the following exceptions. First, I had to fix the toilet handle. The locking nut in the bowl was not attached to the bowl. It's a simple fix but it left me wondering if the toilet had been cleaned. In order to clean the toilet, one must flush the toilet. Secondly, the seam on the couch arm was busted. The hotel is nice, but when small things start getting overlooked, they eventually become big things. We will stay there again as we are frequent visitors to Winstar. This hotel is close and a nice change from the expensive rates at the resort. read more

Kind of disappointed with what I got for $160/nt on March 1, 2024. Cons: * Elderly woman at the front desk had a nervous breakdown when all I asked was if they had an available room on the 1st floor for 1-nt & how much it cost. She had to jump from 1 computer to the next, then said she could only give me a price & info if she began a reservation. That was odd since after I checked in, there were only 2 other cars at the hotel... how could she not know LOTS of rooms were available? Each question flustered her... I thought she was going to quit on the spot. I know what she said isn't true, but after 10-hrs of driving, I just wanted a room. She also didn't know how to give me either a AAA or military discount. Oddly, she asked several times if the $160 price were okay for me in an odd way as if I were asking cuz I was homeless & if I were paying cash (no, I didn't have a satchel of pennies to count out)... I just dislike when they ask for my ID & credit card without telling me the price. Either she was new, needs to retire pronto or is a person who needs a less exasperating job... maybe selling candy. * I had no Internet & only stopped as I needed to do work online for the night. Nope, none. Visited the front desk (cuz there was no room phone) to ask about it & another agent said it normally goes out at 4:30pm everyday & she'd need to ask her boss to reset the router. That took 45-min. I could then get on intermittently on my phone, but not my laptop, so it was a useless waste of $160+tax cuz I can't type docs & do efficient work on my phone. * As I mentioned, no room phone, so I had to get dressed to go to the front desk twice. * Lots of lights in my room but the bulbs were such low wattage I wouldn't have been able to read a book. Here's an idea (flash, envision light bulb above my head), how about less lamps & just a couple with higher wattage bulbs!? Pros: * Room was clean & updated, plenty of pillows, comfy bed. Due to cost, I wouldn't bother again cuz I'd only be there if traveling through. 3* out of 5. read more

Let me first state that when they say check-in is at 3PM, THAT'S THE TIME THEY MEAN. NO EARLIER! I've never been to a hotel that wouldn't let you check in at least an hour early, (but unfortunately for us, we found it this weekend). I am a Hampton Inn regular (I always choose Hampton Inn no matter where I'm traveling to), but this was the very first time ever that I have ever NOT had a good stay or have been unhappy. I lived in a Hampton Inn for 2 and a half months in OKC when the 2013 Moore F-5 tornado came thru town and took out my entire home. I chose this hotel chain because of the great experience with Hampton Inn there in OKC. If you don't sleep well, bring a box fan to drown out the noise, because you can hear everything, all the time. We packed up after one night and headed South and stayed the rest of our weekend in Ft. Worth. read more

BED BUGS!!!!! We booked a room 9/27/2024 and one hour after checking in, we noticed BED BUGS crawling around the headboard and pillows. (room 214) We immediately went downstairs to report it to the clerk, and decided to check out! the clerk on duty said that we would receive a full refund in the morning when the GM came in, but it never happened. we finally were able to reach the GM, in which she informed us that she sent the "Exterminator" to the room and he didn't find any bugs. We then contacted the corporate office expressing our complaint and concerns, and we were told to refer back to the Hotel in question. we are still dealing with whelps and bite-marks from the Bed-Bugs! This entire matter is disappointing to say the least, but rest assured, WE WILL NEVER VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! read more

Terrible service. One towel in room. Had to beg for ONE more. Went to get soda asked to charge to room. Couldn't do because computer was down. Couldn't take card because computer was down. Couldn't write it on a post it and charge when the my work???? Had to all way back to my room and get cash. Ana Vazquez manager in duty was extremely lazy and rude and doesn't belong in hospitality industry. If I was Hilton I would not let the Hilton flag be associated with this place. A nice hotel overall but the room was quite dusty. The hotel is in a good location but next time I would stay elsewhere. I was annoyed that I asked for shaving cream one night and front desk told me they were our, while in the morning they had some and was very accommodating. They may have been out, but I wouldn't doubt If they weren't. The front desk seemed annoyed that I bothered them in the evening. read more

Came here for a friend's wedding and needed a place to stay. Stayed here about 8 years ago and it was pretty much the same as it was back then. Clean, comfortable king suite with fridge and microwave. Misty quite except for the footfalls from the floor above us. Thankfully we had earplugs. It's a solid place to stay for anything happening in this area- especially if you want to gamble but not stay at the casino hotel. Friendly staff. Warning: pillows have feathers for those folks who may have allergies. Got up too late for breakfast but I'm sure it's pretty standard hotel free breakfast fare. read more

Hubby and I stayed here for 1 night just this Sunday, 3/19-3/20. Our purpose was to visit the WinStar Casino in Oklahoma. I was so happy with our stay. I'm not a huge fan of staying in hotels after the pandemic so I brought with us some Clorox wipes and Lysol. I prepared ourselves to do some sanitizing but to my surprise, our room was great. Our room was newly renovated. It was modernized. LVP flooring throughout. I say my favorite was the bathroom. I should've taken some pictures. Anyway, we had room 308 with a king bed and a sofa bed in case you're wondering. Also a bonus was walking distance to Cracker Barrel restaurant. This hotel was about 10 minutes drive to WinStar Casino. I hope you find this review helpful. read more

We were pretty comfortable staying here for two nights. My only complaint is how unsound proof the rooms are. The first time was very hard to sleep because I could hear my neighbor snoring so loudly for hours!! I didn't get much sleep due to that and considered asking to change rooms because of it. But my husband was sleeping well, not snoring, so I waited. The carpet felt damp in areas the first night as well. Positives...a/c worked great. The bathroom is a decent size. And everything worked as expected. There is free coffee all the time down by the lobby with creamer selections and sugars. Also teas and cocoas. The lady the checked us in was slow coming to the front desk and seemed like she was bored with her job...like she was just going through the motions. read more

Hotel is clean. Staff are ok. Breakfast is absolutely horrible. On a Sunday morning they ran out of coffee!? People say "oh well it's free" ummm no it isn't. That is all calculated into the room price. No coffee for guest is absolutely unacceptable. And there were 7 of us in the suite and only 5 towels so we had to return our dirty towels before the last 2 people got to shower. Then, we were given the scratchy little pool towels in exchange. I probably wouldn't stay here again simply because of the coffee and towel situation. read more

We stayed here for a trip to win star for a show. We had a king suite which was really nice. It had a nice little kitchen sort of area with a sink and a sofa. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear the people above walking around but that's not unusual. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The shower didn't get terribly hot and it seemed like the shower head might need to be replaced because the water flow was not great. We liked the location and safety of this hotel. We would stay here again with no concerns. read more

It's a fine hotel, but it could be better. The building is new, so of course the rooms feel nice. It seems clean in the rooms as well, so that's great. Nice LCD tv as well. The problem is the extras. The internet is painfully slow. To the point where tethering through your old phone would be faster. If you need to get some actual work done, you better bring your own connection, or go out for a coffee somewhere for a better connection. This may be in part to their "Hilton Honors" program, which may give a higher quality of service to repeat customers, but irregardless it's bad. I can't even pull up speedtest.net, and pulling up yelp (a lightweight site) took about a minute to load. The pool outside is not heated, so can be either refreshingly cool or unusable depending on your preference. The whirlpool is large, so you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. Both the hottub and pool needed to be cleaned when I went to use them around 5PM, as it was difficult to find a spot clear of bugs and other debris on the surface of the pool, and the traps/intakes on both the pool and whirlpool were full of beetles (20-30 in each trap). The elevator has some tacky image/label applied to the inside of the sliding door, that appears to be some sort of corporate branding from hilton. The bottom of it has some tidbits about October... it's now May. Either refresh the label, or better yet just take it down. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but it seems like the staff just isn't trying, and is relying on the age of the hotel alone. read more

I have booked this hotel a few times for my family when they (or we) travel to the casinos. The staff has always been very accommodating and my parents talk to the front desk staff as if they are long time friends. So nice to see people who really enjoy their job and are actually friendly! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool was refreshingly cool (and clean) for a nice 100 degree day. The hot tub is pretty spacious as well. During our last stay, we were informed there was an elevator issue on the second floor, so we were upgraded. As if we weren't already fans of this Hampton in particular! I will continue to stay at this hotel when we travel to the casinos (which is only about a 3 minute drive!) read more

Every hotel in this area is over priced during a concert night at the Winstar. $160 for a king suite is a little pricey for a Hampton in nowheresville but the bed made up for it. Suuuuuupppper comfy bed, nice big room with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker-bar area. Seating area with couch. Nice flat screen tv. I can't complain. I also love that they wash not only the sheets but go a little extra and wash the duvet covers and blankets after every guest as well. They don't have those nasty bedspreads like other budget hotels. There is a Cracker Barrel next door within walking distance and an outlet mall about a block away. I would definitely come back here next time I want to go play "ching ching" or see a concert at the Winstar or in my case, the Losestar. read more

I've stayed at over four different hotel chains in the Gainesville area because I have to come here for work. I rated this 4 stars because its by far the nicest you can get in Gainesville. But it's really a solid 3 star hotel. I typically prefer only 4+ star rated hotels, but its limited around here. Very clean, good complimentary breakfast, well kept gym, and friendly knowledgable staff. I actually get way better loyalty points at other hotels. But I forgo the points and stay here because it's that much cleaner! read more

Single night in town for the Alice in Chains concert at Winstar. Hotel is easy to get to from both north and south I-35. Rooms are nice, beds were not as comfy as other Hampton's I've stayed in. Staff was friendly. Coffee did not taste very fresh Sunday morning and the breakfast spread was a little sad. Strong air freshener smell when entering the room. I cant believe how misleading your social media posts and website pics are. The pool in your FB post is not the pool at your location. And the memories will start long before someone goes looking for your pool, it will start in the street where there is no parking for the hotel guests. Guests must pay 20.00 a day for valet, who doesn't even work for the hotel, and they are all kids playing on their cell phones while you have to load and unload your car while they watch. Real helpful. And this is only if and when they can be found. Our first night (Friday 7/12/19) it took over 20 minutes to find someone to get our car. Next, once inside we were given a room with no working a/c. Real nice. So we ask for a new room and after repacking and slepping to a new floor we find the keys dont work for the new room. But wait it gets better... So after finally getting into the room, we start to get ready for a formal dinner charity event and the power goes out in the bathroom. And not just the bathroom the whole damn floor. Needless to say the Hampton inn an suites downtown Gainesville will never be on our itinerary for a return visit nor will it recommended to any of our friends. Seriously disappointed. We are very much looking forward to someone who works for the hotel, to contact us and refund our money. read more

Love this hotel. Clean, beds are comfortable and staff is friendly. My only complaint was that I was on the 4th floor and there are 2 smoking rooms on this floor. When I went into my bathroom I could smell smoke probably coming through the vents. I brought it to their attention so I don't get blamed. That's the only reason 4 stars instead of 5. Stayed here last night and the staff was very friendly and the room was great. All they had left when I arrived was smoking but it was no where near a bad as smoking rooms in other places. It is a little pricey ($100 + a night) but well worth it and there is a Cracker Barrel next door. So that's a big plus. read more

Hotel is comfortable. Small town feel, and Hampton hotels are always reliable. It's nice to know what your getting in terms of the bed and pillows. This one surely didn't disappoint. read more
