It was a nice, spacious suite! The staff were iffy, though. It depended on who was at the front desk. The nighttime staff lady was nice and professional. She spoke and asked us if anything was needed. The daytime staff were standoffish and didn't speak to you at all unless you were checking in or had an initiated question. I assumed it was culture because they did not discriminate as to who was being ignored! It wasn't anything to stop me from staying there again, though. Major issue for me: The front entrance and red area outside of the front door needs power washing to get up all of the spat out gum collecting there. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. This was our worst experience with an IHG. From the smell of mildew/mold when you walk into the rooms to the dirty bed sheets smeared with boogers. I'm not sure how this hotel is still open. I'm not a picky person by all means but this was absolutely disgusting. The indoor pool is a joke. Things floating in the water and ceiling dripping water into it. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

This place is crazy, there's one chair in the suite, one couch a coffee maker with no coffee, soap dispensers with no soap in them, and there's no table and chairs for sitting down and eating or whatever else you might want to do like play cards. They said it's a fire code that keeps them from having chairs in the room, it's run by insane people. This is a sad excuse for a Holiday Inn Express. There is a mold smell when you first walk in that takes your breath away. The lobby is dirty, the elevator is disgusting. Showed up at 3 to check in no rooms ready. So I say I'm the lobby and waited. The desk lady came and said here's your key, went to the room....someone's in there! Went back to the front desk and waited an hour or so. Bathroom is clean but run down, well used along with the whole hotel. Manager and employees parked in unloading zone....cannot drive through. As a spire elite you can tell I frequent HIE's. Seems like they need to set a new standard as they're goi g down hill fast! Marriot here I come! read more

Service was good at check in but the hotel is quite dated and the bathroom is in need of serious repair. In fact, the second morning the water actually stopped working in the shower. Hot water and any type of pressure were both non-existent. Our room was clean (King Suite)but could also use some repairs between the wall and ceiling where the room is settling. They made a poor attempt to caulk the crack but to no avail. At checkout we were immediately offered a discount on both nights which was the right thing to do. They were not surprised at our feedback which likely indicates this type of feedback is common. Overall I would not recommend this hotel unless you have no other options in the area. read more

This place was ok! But I'm sure there is way better out there! There was no deadbolt on the door which I read in other reviews seems to be a problem but the front desk acted like this was news to them. The sofa bed was saggy and worn out. WiFi is absolutely awful which we just used data bc we couldn't connect to anything. It was clean! Thank God especially after reading other reviews it really had me worried. It couldn't definitely use a face lift! Breakfast was sub par at best...ended up just eating cereal. The sausage I spit out and biscuits and gravy were flavorless. Lock up your belongings if you choose to stay here. I had my Chanel Sunglasses stolen right out of my room. They were set on the bench, and when I returned after 3 hours they were gone. The girl staying next to me told me she had a women ( not dressed in uniform) but who works the front desk walk into her room without knocking. She claimed she was "returning someone's ear pods " but first my friend didn't complain of missing ear pods and second... you would knock if you were returning something to a guest! She was caught. It's very hard to prove so just don't take the risk. We booked this hotel for the jetted tub. We could have made it home tonight, but thought it would be nice to spend the night and enjoy the tub before going back to the "real world ". Check in was fine, but just realized the desk clerk didn't offer elite rewards. I will check on that tomorrow. Next went to little store by front desk to get a Diet Coke, none available. They don't have a single vending machine so very little available. First strike. I then filled jetted tub and climbed in. There was no way to turn it on! No button, no switch, NOTHING! Strike 2. Then went to call front desk, but low and behold no phone in room! Strike 3. Used my cell phone, desk clerk said she didn't know what to tell me. No other room like this available! We are just out of luck. Strike 4. Went to plug in cell phone and two plugs are hanging out of lamp. Can we say electrocution hazard. Strike 5. While laying in tub looked up and found big stain on ceiling from leak above there was no hair dryer and only 2 bath towels. If both people want to shower and wash hair that is an issue. No Kleenex part of a roll of toilet paper. Don't waste your money here. We are Diamond Elite so stay in hotels a lot due to work. We know what we should be able to expect from IHG and this isn't it. read more

This is a rat hole. Our first room was musty. We moved rooms which had a damaged door and torn up furniture. The breakfast was less than desirable. There was no coffee, the pancake maker was broken and the bread goods were stale. I have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns and this was by far the worst. read more

Reserved a room for 4 nights with my IHG credit card points, which I earned over the past year. Reserved a king on the quiet side with a request for an upgrade if available. Upon arrival i was told the only room for "free" was a queen on the interstate side. I again requested an upgrade, or at least the king I asked for, and was told the hotel was booked out. As there were 4 cars in the entire parking lot, this is obviously not true. Room is tiny. Entire hotel is run down and sad. Doors are broken, gym is closed for no reason, paint is faded and chipped. Apparently there are suites but I certainly wasn't offered one. Never again. read more

Let me start by saying I stay with this brand when possible because of quality. When we made reservation I did it with a person at location. When we checked in Ashley at front desk told me I booked 2 king rooms, I said that was not correct I had 2 doubles one being handi accessible and adjoining. She sd that was not how my reservation is. I showed her the email and asked to speak to a manager. She walked a few ft and sd " can you come here she is throwing a hissy fit because her reservation is wrong" mind you I am standing here with my 13 yr old and only sd she was wrong, showed my email and asked for a manager. They had no rooms that fit my needs. No adjoining rooms that were dbls. Mgr sd we could do a king to dbl adjoining i went to ck if that would work. Then she says never mind we don't have it available. Get stuck in 2 dbls non adjoining. No hot water the night we checked in. I mention it to the front desk lady she says well its fixed this morning. I told her we still had none she said its fixed and walked away. Get to breakfast 9:10 there was no eggs, gravy or pancakes. I asked the person working she sd she would get to it. Then 20 minutes later breakfast was over so she was not making anything else. I mention it to front desk she walks over with me then the breakfast lady screams "i am making you your gravy" . The unprofessionalism at this place is ridiculous. My mom went to get coffee they did not know she was with me and breakfast lady and front desk lady were saying. What a bitch i was. Wow where to start, first room, yes I had two eventually but I'll get to that in a minute. The bed was comfy which I've come to expect from the many I've stayed at across our great land. The room had a lot of wear and tear from lack of upkeep. Tile falling off the wall in bathroom, paint wear on doorways, and dirt and trash behind places obviously not checked by maids. Then, the a/c just died. Came back to room after being out all day and it's 85 inside. So I go downstairs to the desk and they move me to another room. They move me into the second room and upon inspection I find the same conditions. When I opened desk for a pen,I find a moldy cup of Pizza Hut sauce and pieces of crust left inside obviously not found by housekeeping. Left in there long enough to mold and the pizza crust pieces to be cement hard Disgusting! Then turn on the AC and it doesn't work either, in addition the room door would not fully close without slamming it. The stairways have disgusting dirty stains from whatever it is. Loud freeway noise. In the morning I go down for breakfast and there is friends of the desk clerk asleep in the breakfast area. Seems like everywhere I go in Texas, all the hotels in some of the small towns are run by People from India? And I find they don't have quite the standard of cleanliness that most Americans are used to. Housekeeping was cleaning rooms at 9:30 at night and people above me on the third floor wrestling until midnight. Well below par for a holiday inn express for the prices they charge. But apparently Gainesville is used to this kind of quality and don't have a problem with it. Kids running down the hall screaming until 10 o'clock at night with nothing done about it for people that have to get up early. My advice is keep driving south to Denton or north the Lawton and avoid this place. I would give negative stars if they were available. read more

I booked with the IHG App. We arrived and checked in. Noticed issue with bathroom light flashing like a camera flash in a dark room. We told desk but were told no maintaince guy on duty till Tuesday. And as this property operates with out a GM or AGM on duty we had to ask for our promised rate reduction for room issue ,to get approved by a GM. Breakfast, bland frozen, the pancake cooker was not working as is normal at the last 3 HIE I have stayed at. Tile in room broken, no nonslip in tub for shower. In my opinion this is not a $150 + per night place. read more

The best hotel around in Gainesville! As an IHG member we had a chance to stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Gainesville for a few days while we were visiting Texas. This location is great! It is located right off of Highway 35 and is easy to find. There are quite a few restaurants (many are walking distance) from this location. It is also about 7 miles from the Winstar hotel which was about a 10 minute drive. The hotel is beautiful and has a nice modern, contemporary feel to it. Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the staff at the front desk. Check-in was a breeze. They have a nice breakfast in the mornings with a ton of options: eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurts, cereals, oatmeal, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, and much more. They even had Chobani yogurts! The breakfast was nice and warm everytime we had it. We stayed on the 3rd floor in one of the 2 queen bed suites. We really liked our room! Just like the rest of the hotel, the room also had a very modern look to it. The blue and green colors of the linens and the dark wood furniture all make the room feel very modern. Unlike many other hotels I've stayed at, the lights in the rooms are the white LED lights, not the yellow lights that make you look unflattering. The bathroom especially has great lighting! Our room had two seperate rooms...one was with a full pull out couch, tv, desk and dresser. The other part of the room had two queen beds, a tv, dresser, a comfy chair with a bench to put your feet up onto. Something this hotel has that I have never seen in some of the nicest hotels in California is that it has soft and firm pillows. Each bed had two firm and two soft pillows. The bed itself is very comfy. I had a great sleep on there. The bathrooms were very clean. We had no problem there. One thing that gave the hotel a bonus point was that they had Bath & Body Works shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Other hotels just have standard ones that always make my skin feel dry and sticky. Overall, the hotel is very clean and up to my standards. The staff were more than accomodating and helpful during our stay! read more

I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean, flat screen TV, coffee pot and fridge in room, the free breakfast was a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, gravy, pancakes, buscuits, cearal, yogurt etc. They also got us in with no reservation after we were treated so poorly at another hotel. Thieves, I had booked a stay here for a family event. I am the sole caregiver to my 85 yo mother who was hospitalized the night before my reservation was to begin. I requested a cancellation but they say since it was through a 3rd party site they can't refund me and are charging me the entire amount of the 3 night stay - almost $500.00. When I cancelled with the 3rd party site (booking.com via Southwest Air) I was told there would be $98.00 cancellation fee unless the hotel management would waive it. Hotel management says their owner will not allow any waiver. BEWARE OF THESE THIEVES and stay anywhere else in the area. I am also posting this on as many other sites as I can find. read more

One star is the lowest rating but we would give it a minus ten. This is the most horrible hotel with a lot of problems and employees that do not try to do a good job.We had reservations for two nights. The first room we were in when we took a shower water leaked from under wall to flood carpet in bed area. The staff said they knew that room was out of order and that the person who checked us in should never have given us that room. Also that room had no remote for the tv. We were told that maintenance was coming to fix a broken lock on another room so we could move our things to another room. We sat and waited three hours while the desk clerk kept saying that she had called and maintenance man was on his way. She lied and no one ever came. Asked for manager and was told that he lives in Dallas and will not come on weekends. The second room we were put in had mold in the shower and the carpet looked old and stained. We left a long note for the manager but never heard back at all. We never got any kind of discount for the bad way that we were treated . Each employee blamed the previous employee and we were lied to and over charged . Do no go to this hotel ever. They are terrible. One desk clerk told us that this is always this bad at this location. read more

My friends and I got our reservation CANCELLED because they "overbooked" AFTER we called and confirmed our reservation THE DAY OF our check-in. Apparently at first they had one bed for four people with no A/C (unsatisfactory!) and then it turned in to "I'm cancelling your reservation. Have a nice day" and hung up on us. Terrible and rude. We booked weeks in advance and then this happened leaving us with nowhere to stay. Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend this location. read more
