(Note: hallway and rooms were on 2nd floor) Before I get into everything wrong, I do want to say thank you to the front desk who was nice enough to let us request a new room... Now, our first impression- the hallways were filthy. There was trash all over as if the halls never got vacuumed. Gave us a really bad impression and curious on how the rooms would look if this is what we saw as soon as we stepped out the elevator. Our FIRST room has huge stains on the carpet snd part of the shelf was broken but they just left the piece there. We requested a new room as there was literal toenail clippings still on the floor. As a traveler with young kids this was horrifying. Our SECOND room had even larger stains in the carpet, a whole in the ceiling for the "fire extinguisher water" the remote did not have a back to it and it wouldn't even work for the TV at all. As a breastfeeding mom I was hoping to keep my breast milk in the fridge- fridge didn't have a freezer spot and it was colder in my little cooler with ice packs than the actual fridge. Also, barn doors that are not flush for the wall for a BATHROOM door... not very smart. No privacy at all, might as well have had no door at all. You could see into the bathroom from the outside as there was a 2 inch gap on each side of the door. For a hotel that had more reviews than a competitor and supposedly "better" (8.7) rating... this property is filthy. I hate to see what the competition looks like. Even when checking out there was no one present at the counter the entire time we ate and grabbed our bags from our room. Only thing I did think was decent was the breakfast. read more

My husband and I stayed here in Mid-December and found it to be a very comfortable room/bed. We stayed 1 night.

The bedside table was torn off the wall and laying on the dirty carpet but hey the lamp was still on it, just a little crooked. Nothing to see here but gray. Depressing, kind of like the state of our country right now. read more

No hair dryer in bathroom. Desk clerk said they get stolen so they have to be checked out and returned when checking out of the hotel. Bathroom shower wasn't very clean. The room had a very musty smell until we figured out how to turn on the AC. The wall thermostat didn't work. End of hallway exterior door didn't open from outside. We parked and had all our luggage by the door and it wouldn't open. The LaQuinta chain has really gone down hill. I have stayed in them in 4 different states. They all are poor especially all over TX. I am going to find a different chain to patronize. read more

Stopped on my trip to Texas. My daughter wanted a pool to swim in and they had one so we stopped. We got a very reasonably priced room, but when we got inside the room I found out why. There were huge stains on the carpet that looked very gross. We then proceeded to go to the pool. It's an indoor pool,but it might as well have been outside as cold as the water was. We could barely get in. It was so cold we left after 5 minutes. My daughter was super disappointed!! read more

We have stayed here while visiting family multiple times over the past few years and have had pleasant stays. That has changed! The carpets in the hallways are disgusting, we tried two different rooms and they were both filthy. Overall this hotel has gone downhill in recent months and I am disappointed and will never stay here again! read more

I don't recommend this Hampton Inn. We've stayed at other Hampton Inn's and been pleased with our experience. This location, however, was not a pleasant experience. The room had an off smell, there were dead bugs in the floor, the couch mattress was disgusting and overall, just felt unclean. The breakfast was not well stocked - out of milk, no muffins, broken juice machine, dirty high chairs. And the pool was closed. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. We stayed here as a team and expected there would be a pool, but it was empty. The front desk said it was under repair but failed to advise of this before we checked in. The breakfast was terrible. Eggs and sausage cold. No milk for cereal. There was bread, but yet another sign of breakage for the toaster. We were there for 3 days and they couldn't even be bothered to go to the local store and buy a $10 toaster. Let's talk about the rooms...stained sheets, half a roll of TP, bath gel dispenser empty, not enough towels and the barn door for the bathroom doesn't close or lock. You can literally see in both sides when closed, so absolutely no privacy. If someone opens the room door you can see right into the bathroom even with the door closed. The cleaning crew came around to clean the rooms, but didn't leave bath towels as we were told they were still in the wash. When we went down later to get towels we were told they didn't have any bath towels, but we could have wash cloths or hand towels. Really?!?! Our family staying in the next room had to call two nights about the AC not working. The front desk came at midnight the first night with a hanger and got it working. The second night it couldn't be fixed and they ended bringing fans. It was extremely hot and humid. Not sure what was going on with the elevators, but they bounce when you step into them. Hopefully they have them inspected for safety before someone gets hurt. The place has an overall moldy smell. With the exception of the one larger gentleman at the front desk with the glasses who was extremely rude, all the other front desk personnel were nice and you could tell they were not comfortable with the way this place was being run. We were so thankful to check out of this place and we will never return. This place is not up to the Hilton standards we have become accustomed to and they should definitely cancel there contract with this owner. I would highly suggest finding an alternative location to stay at. It is is worth it to drive another 15 minutes to Edmund. read more

I pulled the covers back to take a nap and seen this. Called the front desk who informed me that maid service had left for the day. I told her I wasn't sleeping in those sheets and she or someone needed to come change them. She informed me she was all alone today and would come up when she could. Still haven't seen anyone. Won't be sleeping in those sheets. The front entry was dirty I noticed and the hallway in front of our room was dirty. I am starting to think they don't have a maid at all. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Booked a room 5 months in advanced. They called me 2 days before arrival to cancel as they had overbooked. (I am coming from out of state) They said they were over booked by 20 rooms. So they were canceling 20 people and the rate I booked with was lower than others so I was chosen as one of the few to cancel. )they only cared about the money). The town and all surrounding areas are sold out and they thought it was ok to leave me 5hrs away from home without a place to stay. After reading other reviews on this hotel, sound like a blessing in disguise. I had this hotel booked for 2 more times in the upcoming months which I have now canceled. read more

Erica at the front desk is an absolute delight. I'm in the Army and have my SO coming down to visit me and drop off my car. I wanted to make sure that I could book her hotel and make sure that she would be taken care of. I called and explained the situation and Erica made it so easy to accommodate my needs, appreciated my service. After my husband mistakenly booked a room thirty miles from our two-day event we were fortunate to get a room here instead. Edmond would have meant an extra-early morning and driving in the dark after an exhausting day. Hats off to the amazing man at the desk who cancelled our reservation after we were able to get a room in Guthrie. The hotel in Guthrie was very nice and accommodating with extremely nice people too, but the man at the desk in Edmond was fantastic. Kudos to this hotel chain for hiring people who are not afraid to actually help people. This left an amazing impression and we will look for Hampton Inn hotels in the future. This place is so new a lot of yelpers haven't found it yet. It's just over a year old. The hotel rooms are spotless and clean. Continental breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruits, biscuits and gravy, cheese on what's, turkey sausage, oatmeal, cereal, juices, you name it. And they rotate the menu everyday. Easy to get to easy to check into. Great lighting. Manager was manning the front desk when we arrived in Guthrie. Very friendly and you could tell he took pride in his hotel. Quick to get us in our room. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Only complaint we had was a family checked in at close to midnight and was placed in the room next to us that had the adjoining door and they were very loud and tried to enter our door several times waking us up. Manager was apologetic the next morning when my husband mentioned it in passing. read more

Checked in on Sept 3, asked if they had jacuzzi, he said none but did not bother to tell me no tub which can be important to travelers who have aches from moving and traveling across the country. Absolutely wonderful! I stayed here for 2 days with my extended family from Spain. In total, there were 16 of us staying here, and the employees were so incredibly accomadating to us (Thank you so much by the way if y'all are reading this, I know we were a bit of a hassle). They got us 4 rooms that were very close together on the 4th floor so we could visit each other without causing too much of a disturbance to the other guests. The entire hotel is modern style, and the lobby and rooms are beautiful! The beds are super comfy, the hot breakfast buffet was delicious, the coffee is FANTASTIC, and the employees here are incredibly nice and welcoming! Highly recommended!!! read more

Do not book at this hotel unless you want to drive 6 hours to be told that your room is unavailable. I had two rooms.. they allowed my 18yr old kids to check in and gave my room away! I want start with the good. The front desk staff was amazing. Very polite and seem to care about making us as comfortable as possible. The hotel is clean and the beds are great but that's it. We checked in on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and were told there wouldn't be any housekeeping on Thursday. We were ok with that but when we returned on Friday after a long day of visiting with family we were appalled by the conditions of our rooms. In one room they picked up the dirty towels and changed the trash and left 2 fresh towels. There were 3 of us in the room. The beds were not made and there weren't any fresh rags or hand towels or bath soap and shampoo. In one of our other rooms they didn't empty the trash (this room had dirty diapers so the smell was terrible), didn't pick up the dirty towels but left 2 fresh towels with 3 people in this room. The beds weren't made and again no shampoo or bath soap. Our 3rd room had the towels picked up but no trash taken out or clean towels left. Beds not made, no trash taken out and one more time, no shampoo or soap. All 3 rooms received only half a** service. When I took the stinky trash to the lobby and told the front desk clerk, he said that because they didn't clean on Thursday they were playing catch up. The way I see it if you're going to give housekeeping the day off(so you don't have to pay time and a half) then double staff the next day. I can do 1 day without service but 2 days is unacceptable. I paid for services that I didn't get. The lady who prepared breakfast on Thursday was very helpful and polite but the one working on Friday was very rude and refused to help me. Also, on Friday morning there was a baby snake in the lobby where we were eating. The indoor pool is not heated and was too cold for the kids to swim. Major disappointment. No hot tub. The last thing is the bathroom door. They put up a sliding door on a rail; I think they are called barn doors; which doesn't cover the opening all the way and everybody can see you doing your thing. The gaps are so big that it doesn't block out the light or keep the odor in the bathroom. Looks good but doesn't work worth a darn. This is our 2nd time to stay in Guthrie and it will be my last. The first time was at the Holiday Inn Express which was an awful experience so this time we stayed at the Hampton. We generally have good luck staying at the Hampton in other places we stayed but not this one Update: After talking to the manager he did compensate us for the terrible service. We checked in ( 7:30 p.m. )upon arriving but had no time to put things in the room. We were told to check back with the front desk to make sure room was clean and ready as maid service was very behind. We returned sometime around midnight and checked in with front desk who seemed confused by our asking about the room. We figured surely the room was ready. We got to our room to find it was already occupied by another guest. Back to the front desk. She appologized profusely. She upgraded us to a suite. Breakfast area is large and modern coffee was empty at 9 A.M. There was sausage no omlets no oatmeal. The staff was standing around and guests were wondering if the food and coffee would be replenished. We usually stay at Holiday Inn but thought we would like to upgrade. Seems its all hype. Ive never been put in an occupied room and Breakfast at holiday inn is better and staff never lets it run out. read more

Had to find a hotel unexpectedly as I was driving north on IH-35, and since the phone was never answered at the LaQuinta, I called the Hampton Inn, both visible from the highway. My call was answered by a friendly voice who quickly and efficiently took my reservation. Upon arrival, I could tell that the staff at this hotel truly cared about their guests' experience. I spent a very comfortable night on a wonderful mattress, quality linens and (my personal favorite) a walk in shower! The room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The next morning I enjoyed a "better than most" breakfast and checked out to continue my journey. Approx. two hours later, as I was exiting the Kansas Turnpike, I realized that I had left my billfold in the room. Since history has taught me that pretty much anything you leave in a hotel room is gone for good, with something just this side of hysteria, I called the hotel. The kind gentleman who had checked me out earlier, actually answered the phone call by saying "Hello, Miss Natalie, what can I do for you?" I explained the problem, told him where it was in the room, and two hours later as I walked into the hotel, he walked out of the office with my billfold safely in his hands. I've stayed in hotels far more expensive, but I have NEVER had service from start to finish be as professional, friendly and honest as this. I usually make the trip from Texas to Kansas City in one day, but think from now on I'll make a stop in Guthrie just to treat myself to the luxury of truly being treated like a valued guest...it's all too rare. read more
