Cheap hotel, I know you get what you pay for. When you first walk in it's a weird smell. Smelled every time, everywhere. The staff were very nice. The room was dirty. You can smell mold as soon as you open the door as the bathroom was right when you walk in. The mold was in and around the bathtub. They made the rooms somewhat handicap accessible by putting double sided sticky/grip tape in the bathtub, was a hazard waiting to happen. It was really gross. Had hair and gross stuff sticking to it. Had to wear flip flops to shower. The floors had debris, dead bugs and spiders in a few areas. Looked like they haven't vacuumed in a while. Also tables and counters looked like they haven't been cleaned either. Basically had to clean, sanitize and get air fresheners. They also had a sign on the main door saying they were at full capacity so we had no option to change rooms. Not sure that would have helped anyways. They also had a sign saying they won a ton of rewards and not sure how. Need better housekeeping and a deep cleaning. They do offer breakfast. They have a small pool and fitness center. I personally won't stay here again but I guess if you need a cheap hotel and don't mind the mess it's an option. read more

Attitude. Ability to care about others. Accommodations for those who made reservations was not made available. Mercedes deceived me during our phone conversations that we previously had. When reserving the block of rooms for a wedding party she was very friendly. Once we were there, if I could care less had a name, it would be Mercedes. She was rude, condescending, disrespectful and ugly acting. I will never ever stay here again. We had a guest in the wedding block party that was given a pet room, she had allergies. The only option she was given was deal with or pay the $50 difference. To make matters worse Mercedes bold face lied about what I reserved saying I didn't hold suites. Here is my original writings from what I held. There ARE several suites that were included. Minimally a courtesy should have been offered at a discount for an upgrade, it wasn't. I ask Mercedes was the suite ever rented and her answer was no. So an empty room and an unhappy customer is what La Quinta representatives were comfortable with. Mercedes comment was, well we still have their money for the room they are in so we didn't lose anything. (Arrogant) I will keep all of the very ugly sarcastic remarks and very unprofessional disposition she had to myself. We stayed at multiple hotels with our dog on a Texas-Oklahoma-Kansas-Colorado road trip. The pet fee of $25 is less than many other hotels and this was the only hotel that had a dispenser/trash can thing that was stocked with poop bags. Room condition and breakfast were pretty typical for a $100-ish on the highway hotel. Considering the price including pet fees it was the best overnight we had on this trip and I would stay here again. Adding a star for the manager Tammy who checked us in, picked up trash in the parking lot, fixed the TV, and vacuumed the lobby while we unloaded and got settled. Then she was back on-duty in the morning and setup breakfast. read more

This place is full of excuses. Heated pool- heater is broken and they will NOT repair it. Filter not working either. Gross. Continental breakfast? Some prefab egg mix and loads of carbs. No milk for cereal, no sausage, waffle machine burns outside but leaves inside raw. Tv in sitting area half burned out. Seats for the main breakfast table are too short, you can barely reach your food and padding is lumpy and shot. Bed is ok. Pillows are lumpy. Room is big. Tub won't drain for like an hour after a shower so you're standing in water. And the gym? I'll let the pics do the talking there. Clientele so far are very pleasant. Quiet place to stay. But if you want anything more than a night's sleep? Yuck. read more

Traveling from Texas to Kansas with my dog. Guthrie, OK was the midpoint and decided to stay at the La Quinta Inn off of I 35. Was greeted by Yasmine who was very cheerful and knowledgeable and helpful. Ran into several times in my overnight stay. Each time I saw her she had a smile and a friendly hello for me and my dog. I had requested a first floor room and called and was told one had been reserved for me. Upon arrival I was given a second floor room. I was informed I could have a first floor room at an additional charge. I took the room but really felt over charged. The first floor room at the end of the building has an extremely high ceiling. But the only lights in the room came from two lamps. Not nearly enough light for the room size. A pleasant stay all in all. Thanks Yasmine for your hospitality. read more

Relatively new hotel, I believe. Nice folk working there. Lobby area was clean. Room was clean. Bed was VERY comfortable! Breakfast offerings could use more options, but the hot stuff was hot, the staff kept the kitchen area clean. Family lives in Guthrie and we were visiting. Usually stay here on our way south. Rooms are clean front desk not so friendly or helpful. Went to breakfast about 9 on the weekend and most all the food was not refilled. It was like the breakfast staff had already left. Also unhappy they are now charging for pets. That was one of the reason we always stay with them. This change in policy will make it easier to stay somewhere else. read more

The entire third floor vibrates from the noise from some kind of machinery in the building. I will not stay here again.

The manager and staff extend warm smiles and pleasant greetings. The manager makes us feel like old friends or family. The hotel is clean, bright and everything is in great working order. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful. Most importantly to me... the GYM has a variety of equipment that is well-kept and clean. This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. Both times have been excellent. We will definitely stay at this hotel for future visits! read more

I would give this hotel ZERO stars if I could. The room was disgusting. It smelled. Mold on shower curtain (I had to ASK for a new one) and in corners of shower. Housekeeping was good on two days out of my 13 day stay for work. Random amount of towels brought, trash cans emptied but no new bags put in, no soap for 3 days (I had tog o ask the front desk for some), sink/toilet/bathroom was not cleaned at all. I expected this to be a three-star hotel, but was disappointed in the quality. I live in this town and the power had gone out in our neighborhood, so we decided to check in, since it was cold. The clerk was nice, so I have no complaints with the check-in process. I took some sandwich items, but was dismayed to find a non-working refrigerator. When the manager arrived to check it, I was told that it would need to be replaced, but was not offered another room. Instead, he offered to put my items in the hotel's refrigerator (inconvenient). Apparently, several room fridges were out due to a previous outage. There were no vending machines on the floors and the "market" on the first floor was limited. The cleaning staff had mopped on the first floor near the front desk and had failed to put a sign to warn guests near the wet spot, in addition to leaving the mop bucket blocking access to the elevator. The pillows in the room were lumpy and overly soft; this happens from over laundering. I expect this in one-star hotels, not a three-star one. The prospect of sleeping with them was too much. Fortunately, the power returned to my home, so we decided to leave (after 3-4 hours). When I politely expressed my distaste of the pillows to the clerk, she just said, "okay". I would not recommend this hotel. read more

We have stayed several times and will continue to stay there when available since our daughter goes to college near by. The rooms are always clean and beds very comfortable. Really the only complaint I have is with the breakfast in the mornings , it's always mediocre,never hot biscuits stale. Never any bread selection always empty. The staff has always been nice though , no complaints about staffing . Over all if they fix the breakfast I would give it 4 stars cause I very rarely give 5 . read more

If I could give this hotel a ZERO I would! The staff was not friendly, once we checked in and went up to our room the beds were covered in hair (from previous guest). Gross. The breakfast was mediocre and the dinning area was small. The only plus (and this is a stretch) was the convenience of this being a pet friendly hotel. We ended up leaving early because I started to develop an unbearable linear rash (so we thought was a rash) on my hands, arms and neck. Once I got home I went to the doctor because the rash wasn't getting better with OTC products and the "bumps" kept swelling. Turns out I've been bitten by bed bugs from this hotel. Great! Just a perfect way to end my vacation. Not only am I a victim of this property's pest negligence, but so is my puppy! BEWARE, this hotel is disgusting and we will NEVER return! To the managers and staff, please call pest control immediately especially since you're a pet friendly establishment. You all don't want to get sued, now do you? read more

The website stated that free cribs were available. Upon check in, I asked for a crib and the front desk clerk said that they don't have cribs. A few hours later, my husband asked again before we went out to dinner, not knowing that I had already asked. When we got back, there was a broken pack n play at our room door that didn't even have the mat that goes on the bottom. So it was unusable. The website states that the pool is heated. The pool was like an ice cube. I went to the front desk and asked for some extra pillows and blankets (since my child didn't have a crib to sleep in). He rolled his eyes at me, and turned around to go get them without saying a word. They were covered in short black hairs. The breakfast the next morning was awful. The biscuits were stale, all the "hot food" was lukewarm even though we went to breakfast right when it started, and the waffle mix was way too watery. Would NOT recommend staying here. read more

My husband and I loved our stay here. Everything was immaculate. The staff was courteous, going out of their way to be of assistance. We only stayed one night but were wishing we had more time. We REALLY wanted to like this LQ because it is brand-spankin' new and we drive from San Antonio to Des Moines 4-5 times a year to visit a sick mom. We travel with our old dog who is really well-behaved (no indoor accidents and never barks). So when this LQ opened, we were happy to overlook a few kinks, as long as it was clean and functional. It's neither. The seal around the heater unit allows frigid winter air to seep in and the side door stays open which is a safety issue. Worse, the place is dirty. Corners don't get swept, there were hairs in our sheets and pillows... And our dog sniffed around the bedspread like she sniffs a fire hydrant! It was stained and wrinkled, so we took it off. Once it was folded and tucked into a drawer, she finally settled down to sleep. So bed covers don't get washed there. There was also the unmistakable smell of damp drywall as if the place had been soaked with rain during construction and they just textured/painted over it. And the rooms are TINY. We opted to skip breakfast based on the dirt and dust in the rooms and hallways. Why not at least vacuum the halls? Two in the pink, one in the stink guys. read more

I will look elsewhere the next time I'm in town. We stopped in on Saturday night after searching on line. the place had good reviews and the $79 price tag seemed fair. The clerk informed us the room would be $99+tax. the wife balked but I agreed. Initially the room looked great. but as the evening went on it seemed many items were broken or inoperable. The room was clean and well equipped. The A/C was very loud and performed very poorly. It cycled on and off approx every 10 minutes and couldn't keep the room at 74F. Finally a little after midnight, we turned it off completely to try to get some sleep. The bed was very soft as were the pillows. The shower door was off track and wouldn't close properly allowing water on the floor, the towel bar/door handle was missing, The ventilation fan didn't work, and the coffee maker was missing parts. So if this is par for the course, I'd say there are worse places out there, but this was not a bargain and it didn't impress. read more

We had a wonderful stay at this La Quinta. The front desk person, Nathan was very friendly and courteous. We had a problem with our air conditioning and he came up to fix it right away. Our room was clean, hallways were clean and breakfast area sparkled. I'm having trouble with the previous review. Our room was large and spacious. I really enjoyed the large shower stall. Room 107 was dirty. Long hairs on shower wall. Hair in bed on sheets. Drywall mud on the chair. A/C didn't work. Hot, we transferred to room 225. A/C only worked for a few hours and then it wouldn't cool. Bed is so tall and hard as a rock. I didn't sleep more than a few hours. Should we try the breakfast? This place is brand new. We'll never stay here again. So, drive on or stay somewhere else! read more
