I stayed here for three days for work. This Hampton Inn was like a lot of other Hampton Inn locations. The staff here was nice and friendly. They had complementary breakfast from 6am to 10am in the lobby area and was as good as complementary breakfasts went. My room had two queen beds and looked clean. The carpet felt damp and I don't know if it was the humidity or what not outside going inside of my room. I just remembered other hotels I stayed in the southern states in the past had a similar feel. The beds were comfortable and I didn't have any issues sleeping. The free wifi was good for 24 hours before I had to login again. The walls were a little thin as I heard the baby crying in the room next to mine. If you're in town then check out this Hampton Inn.

Upon checking in everything was great. Got to my room, no problems. Took a shower, and got in the bed. That's where it went downhill. I thought a mosquitoe had bitten me, but I kept feeling bites in different places. Turning the light on I discovered BED BUGS !! I stripped the down to the mattress and found several smaller bed bugs, AND a HUGH STAIN on the mattress. I went down to the front desk, although she had just started, she did a GREAT JOB !! She called the manager and he suggested he would cover a move to the Best Western next door. I was told that they had notified the manager that they ONLY had a smoking room, AND THE TV DID NOT WORK !! I returned to the Hampton, informed them what had transpired and the manager responded by saying I could get another room ...IN THE SAME HOTEL !! I declined as BED BUGS CAN TRAVEL via housekeeping or guests staying in multiple rooms. We then left for a hotel in Hattiesburg. A great place. I recommend SKIPPING HAMPTON INN & SUITES in Laurel, MS. I can't recommend a place in Laurel, but from now on we will ALWAYS stay at a Marriott property in Hattiesburg, MS.

Jenny and John LaPan have created a beautiful and every-detail-considered accommodation in the middle of Laurel's historic housing district. The rooms are impeccably appointed, chef Erica's breakfasts are gourmet delights and the B&B's grounds are beautiful. The new swimming pool and hot tub are gorgeous and inviting. Jenny's Hideaway has one ensuite on the main floor and 3 rooms on the second floor, two of which are en-suites. There is also a 3-bedroom/2-bath cottage on the grounds, with full kitchen, perfect for a family getaway. Jenny and John are both so friendly and personable, ready to accommodate any questions or issues. The small touches are wonderful: essential oils and bath salts for the soaking tub, a generous supply of thick, luxurious towels, a clothes steamer, steps to get into bed. We really enjoyed Jenny telling how they took a falling-down house and created the jewel that is the Jenny's Hideaway we enjoy today. Jenny is a native of Laurel and worked around the country in the hospitality industry before moving home to Laurel. She knows the town history and her neighbors. She also made it clear the current town celebrities, Ben and Erin Napier, are truly the friendly, accessible hometown neighbors they appear to be on their show. We actually stayed at Jenny's "by accident" when we arrived in town to find the hotel we had booked could not check us in because of technology issues. We found Jenny's in an online search and she welcomed us so graciously. We had no idea we had landed in the lap of luxury.

From the comfortable beds to very nice bathrooms, it was lovely. The towels were heavenly. The breakfasts were delicious with french toast casserole one morning and homemade biscuits and tomato gravy the next. The hosts, Jenny & John, were so friendly and catered to our every desire. Even homemade pound cake. This place is fabulous. Laura Landry Flower Mound, TX
