Our last stop on our Laurel trip for brunch. We were the early birds and arrived right at opening so there was no one there yet. Our server was so friendly and helpful. We had the bottomless mimosas along with a rose martini and a whiskey drink (can't remember the name. For food we had biscuits and gravy, banana waffles and a patty melt. All which were delicious. It was my friends birthday and they gave us the dessert that we were looking forward to trying, griddled pound cake! Omg! That was amazing! Relaxed cocktail vibe atmosphere. We stopped in for a cool drink and a snack after shopping around and it was enjoyable. The drinks were cold, the cheese dip was flaming (they serve it on fire) and service was friendly. The art featuring buzzards was wonderfully whimsical. read more

I was very disappointed in the inn. There's so much potential, but it just isn't up to snuff. I love the Laurel history behind it and obviously the amazing job Erin and Ben Napier did as highlighted on their show Hometown. It's spacious, comfortable, and the amenities are nice. That's where the good ends. Do NOT stay here if you are a light sleeper or need super cold a/c. They don't tell you that this location is directly next to the train station; from the Laurel room at least, you feel the train vibrations and the loud horn woke us up every two hours all through the night. HORRIBLE. Also note that the buzzards inn bar downstairs (which is amazing, by the way) has live music on the weekends until midnight and you can hear everything. Fine if you don't go to bed early, just take note. There's a portable a/c unit on the ceiling by the bed, but there is no central a/c. It is hot and humid in mid-July and our kids who slept on the pull-out couch on the other side of the wall were uncomfortable because there was no air flow. It was a LONG night. There needs to at least be a ceiling fan and possibly a box fan for guests who want a little more cool air. My next thing about the a/c might seem picky, but the LED light on it is MASSIVE - probably larger than a quarter, and it literally lit up the king size bed with a blue glow all night. If you need a dark room, this is not the place for you. My husband who can sleep just about anywhere was extremely annoyed. I also had an issue checking in. They have a code at the outside door and then a separate one for the individual room once upstairs. You are forced to download the Lodgify guest app to access your personal room information. They send lots of emails so it would be really easy to bypass an app and just include everything in the personalized email. We had to text the concierge for the information after trying to access our room without success. Lastly, and the most disappointing part was the bathroom cleanliness. Everything else was immaculate, but the shower grout was pink at the bottom and there was mold and hair from previous guests in the corner. I gave my six year old a shower and noticed the nasty shower. Unacceptable! I really wanted to love this place because I love the show Hometown and everything the Napier's represent, but this experience was lacking. I will not be back. read more

At the time I visited, they had a soft opening, and a limited menu. It's a great place for the hotel guests to eat. Another positive is that they are open on MONDAY while 98% of the restaurants in Laurel are closed. read more

Recently visited for my birthday just for a casual drink with family. Dusty Crawford was playing and we so enjoyed his music. The wait staff were so friendly and energetic. They brought me a dessert and they all sang happy birthday and made my night. I will definitely be back. read more

Wanted to go somewhere to watch some football today and couldn't have picked a better spot. We sat at the bar and enjoyed great service and conversation. They have several specialty cocktails as well as a great selection of beer. I was feeling a little drained and needed a pick me up so I ordered a French Press and 2 shots of Baileys. The star of the day had to be the Hot Honey Wings. I decided to go with bone in and it was a great decision. These wings were fried to perfection and then sauced. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The sauce starts off sweet and ends with the slightest tingle on the tongue. After I left, I told my buddy that I have eaten a lot of wings at a ton of different places but these have to be in my top 3. He agreed! We went for brunch after church today. We were greeted by the sweetest waitress/hostess. The atmosphere was very chill. The decor was relaxing and stylish. The restaurant was clean. We ordered the grits and pulled pork and patty melt sandwich. The patty melt was delicious. It can dresses with cheese, garlic aioli and onion jam on perfectly toasted bread. The fries were fresh and very good. The grits and pulled pork left a lot to be desired. The grits had a weird texture and lacked seasoning. The over easy egg was cooked perfectly but also needed some seasoning. The combination of the pulled pork, sauce and grits just didn't work for either of us. The price pint for this dish was high for the serving size. We will return for the wings and buzzard fries. We also would love to have some of the drinks that we saw on the social media page. Laurel native here, review is of just the restaurant. Met a friend at the bar for a drink and bite to eat. Drink was okay enough but the bartender could have been a little more attentive. Seemed like they had some friends (maybe regulars) at the bar and I kept having to flag her down and felt like a bother. Food was mid, nothing to write home about. The restaurant was not busy when I was there (handful of us at the bar, a group or two circled in at tables), but nobody ever bussed the tables. I was there for almost two hours and not a single table was bussed the entire time. Just felt weird. read more

We ate here on a Sunday night and had a very good experience. The music, atmosphere, and decor were very relaxing. Our server was prompt and attentive. The buzzard fries and buzzard dip were delicious!!! The polpette was 4/5 stars. We would definitely come back. read more

What a beautiful idea. I'm in love with the idea, the owners passion and the creativity while keeping the historical aspects. I fully support this as someone who manages a historical building that struggles in keeping the history while being owned by people who love modern. I I love Laurel and what everyone is doing. We were excited to visit Laurel, Mississippi and stay at the Buzzards's Roost. Laurel isn't a small town as portrayed on the show. The Laurel Room is quaint and well decorated. Not cleaned as well. If you want extra towels you have to catch the cleaning guy if you stay a 2nd day. Your pretty much left on your own, no room service and the Inn to contact doesn't respond if contacted by e-mail. The train noise 3 times is a problem at night. The water pressure is poor and does not get very hot in the shower. The bed was too soft for our taste. If you have difficult time going up stairs, this might be a problem. If you want to waste a lot of money and experience staying at the Inn, knock yourself out. It's just a money maker to draw tourist. I'm sure there are better places with better service for your money. read more

Onion rings just ok Definitely not worth an upgrade for. Waitress spent a good while chatting with coworkers and manager. Would not bothered me except I needed a refill when food came out. I brought glasses up to get my self . She now was watching videos and playing on her phone while waiting at the food window. Talking to owner or manager happens watching videos instead of getting my kid a refill and showing no empathy definitely lowered the rating. We walked in about 7:30 on a Sunday night - recommended by the B&B owner where we're staying. Been traveling all day. Excited for a relaxing dinner as a family. Sat there for 25-30 mins, ordered, we were told what they didn't have on the menu. Then finally our poor waitress told us her manager closed the kitchen. Guess they didn't want to cook a party melt or assemble a few salads. Not worth it. Short-sighted and unprofessional management. read more

NEVER EVER EVER STEP FOOT IN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. We waited 2 hours for our food. Two hours. We had somewhere to be so we had to leave, without our food. Therefore we wanted our money back. We were yelled at, said we were not welcome in this establishment. Two hours? I'm at the hair salon for less time. The bartender has a chip on his shoulder and is quick to anger for no good reason. Go literally anywhere else I hope this place goes out of business. read more

The food was great. We had a room. Coffee still in the cups in our room. The pod was still in the pot. Common area still had a pod in the pot. I found cups in a drawer. I washed those and that's what we used. Unfortunately you can hear everything outside your room. The renovations done by Ben and Erin Napier are lovely. we tried out the attached restaurant for the in. I had the pulled pork Mac & cheese. Ultimate comfort food was awesome. Portion appeared small but bowl was definitely deceivin. Wife tried the grilled peanut butter banana sandwich. She loved it and commented it was much better than the one she had just tried in Memphis. Decor and atmosphere were nice and staff were friendly / attentive. Definitely worth checking out. read more

We had a Summer Salad (out of pecans). We were told out of wings. Also out of flatbread( no pizzas available) I settled for the fried chicken bites and fries. The food was not anything special. The wait staff was good. The wait time was good. Would be a good bar but not a good restaurant. read more
