Multiple stays here. Will be a 5 once remodeling is done. I'm always amazed and disappointed when prices are so high when hotel undergoes major renovations!! Stayed and upgraded (paid more) for a bigger room for the family. Comfy and quiet. Renovating always is a challenge. Early morning noise and added safety issues. More trip hazards - dust / dirt / holes in sidewalks and curbs. Workers park in all the closest parking spaces. Extra caution always necessary for everyone. A discount would be reasonable. Cords on floors - exposed interior walls and so on. Staff always friendly. Breakfast is good too. Great location in town. Once complete will stay again !! read more

The hotel was under construction-only one entrance to the hotel was open and it involved walking THROUGH the construction-my wife almost tripped on the tarp which had things under it. There was trash and construction debris everywhere, and we often had to walk under the scaffolding platforms to get in and out of the property. We paid a high pet fee ($75) and due to the construction there was nowhere on the property to even walk the dog (who is small-10lb). The windows in the room were covered with plastic tarps from the outside, the hallway smelled of pain and wallpaper adhesive, and the floor under the new carpeting had several uneven spots. I made my reservation directly with the hotel and they made NO) MENTION of this construction and even suggested I prepay my stay to save a few bucks. I suspect this was so I could not drive up to the property and change my mind. When checking out, I mentioned that I thought the pet fee was excessive considering the fact we had to walk off the property to walk the dog, and the desk clerk said she would have the manager call me. It has been a week, and no phone call. Do yourself a favor-there are several hotels within a block or two of this property-stay at one of them. read more

We stayed overnight during the Air Races. Renovation is going on, there is trash and construction debris everywhere around the building. It never occurred to them to require the construction crews to clean up after each workday. They are price gouging for the air show, they charged 249.xx a night for saturday night, I can book the same room the next weekend for 149.00 The breakfast was good, room was good, staff was good, they all get 3-4 stars. Stayed here two nights to check out Roswell. Note: it only took us half a day to see all the alien related attractions. The rooms were nice and clean! There was construction across the parking lot (north side), but the noise didn't disrupt our sleep. My only complaint was the front desk opening our door while we were in the room. He said he wanted to see if the room was occupied. Not sure why he didn't call or check his computer. WTF, right? read more

No hot water. Was told to wait 45 mins and it would warm up. It never did. Guy told me that he was just telling me what he was told to tell everyone, and that he's not sure why they're still having this issue with the water...so it's not new. I would never have stayed there if I'd know ahead of time that they didn't have hot water to take a shower with. It was around $200 a night, and I couldn't shower with warm water. read more

This was probably the worst experience I have had at a hotel in a very long time. I booked over the labor day weekend and for some reason they booked us into not just one room but three. They could not seem to understand it did not make logical sense why two people would need 3 rooms. The next morning when they asked if I needed " the other rooms " I said I never booked other rooms and they were not able to document that I had. Once straightened out with a desk clerk the Manager came in and was angry that she could not book two rooms and inferred it was my fault I don't see myself staying at a Hampton inn again. We had a good stay here. We had booked a king room with a pull out couch bed for my step son, upon going to our room it was just a king sized bed and a chair. The front desk worker was so friendly and helpful in resolving this issue and immediately got us in a suite which had the couch bed like we needed. We found the accommodations to be very comfortable and everything worked well in the room- tv, usb ports in the clock radio for charging your phone, ac etc. The hotel is next to and in walking distance to Antigua which is probably the best restaurant in Roswell, on the other side also in walking distance is Texas Roadhouse. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus. I did notice the swimming pool and spa was not working for the duration of our stay and was drained, so if that's important to you call and check if it's up and working before booking. Personally we hadn't planned on swimming anyway on this trip so it didn't bother us. We found the accommodations to be comfy and clean and in a convenient location, would stay here again. read more

Worst hotel I've stayed in. Bed as hard as the floor. When we complained they said all the beds were the same. Only twice did I see anyone at the front desk. Walked By it about 10 times and no one was anywhere in sight. Room was dirty. Bathroom sink wouldn't drain. Last night there was a party in the loading zone at the front door of about 20 people that lasted till the early hours of the morning. Started about 11 and the last time I looked outside was 1:33 am. Our room was on the second floor right above the "party". Our reservation was for 6 days only stayed two. This hotel is definitely not up to Hilton standards. We stayed 1 night at Hampton Inn & Suites Roswell NM. In the lobby is Carlos the Alien. They had chocolate chip cookies and melty mints in the lobby during check-in. Nice. We had separate beds and room had coffee pot, microwave. Neutrogena soap, shampoo, bath gel, conditioner. Think they had gym - I probably used the treadmill. read more

It's a typical Hampton Inn, which is why I don't antes to stay there rather than taking my chances on another hotel brand, and it met expectations. Most amenities are a no go during COVID but they still have the basics, and they were even offering some pre-prepared hot breakfast. There was laundry on every floor, which comes in handy partway through a toad trip. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. They're wearing masks and there are mask signs throughout the public areas. There's plenty of parking. read more

Nice, clean hotel. Hospitality is nice. Breakfast is decent for one that's included...nothing too fancy. Our hotel room dipped a bit towards the middle (we were in a handicapped accessible room because that's the last one they had available when we booked it). I mentioned it to the young lady when checking out, hopefully they fix it since it doesn't seem like it would be good for someone in a wheelchair to maneuver in there (room 318). Overall good experience for a 2-star hotel My wife and I stayed here in June 2019 on our way to AZ, as we stopped by in search of aliens. Spoiler alert - there are no aliens. But there are plenty of alien-themed activities for which to waste money on. The hotel itself does manage to stay light on the alien theme. Sticking with the single alien dude in the entrance. For which all guests seem obligated to take a picture with. Go for it. The hotel rooms and lobby were all nicely kept, clean, and up-to-date. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom also functional and clean, etc. We did find the TV to be of good size even though the color setting seemed to be maxed out. With no way to adjust it. Internet was reasonably fast as well. Easily maintaining 20mb up/down, regardless of what time we checked. Plenty for streaming, gaming, or surfing. The included breakfast was merely adequate. We didn't find any of the hot stuff to be good during either of our two-night stays. The pastries and related items satisfied our breakfast requirements. Once again, considering this is a 2-star hotel, it was all above average. We would go there again. read more

Clean, comfortable, modern. Everything we could ask for. Andrew checked us in and was very friendly. The breakfast is actually worth trying out and has lots of options, compared to some others I've seen. The lobby is really nice, too. I'd definitely stay again. On the bottom side of two stars. Wallpaper in the hallways was coming apart. Wallpaper in the room was torn. Linen needs to be updated as well as towels. Room a/c is very loud. What a disappointment! This hotel is heavily outdated. The lobby has been remodeled, but the rooms look circa 1982. They still use actual bedspreads instead of wrapping a blanket in sheets like any decent hotel. This does not live up to Marriot/Hampton Inn standards. Puzzled by the high ratings on Yelp, but if you consider the people who usually visit Roswell, I guess they think it is okay. The suite was not sweet at all being all in one room and very small. One of the beds was just about touching the outdated dusty curtains. No thanks-never again. Door knob on the bathroom was falling off. It looked like there was a new Fairfield Inn down the street. Cons: poorly stocked food bar; old mushy fruit & watery oatmeal; food bar and table tops dirty; not enough parking; no one was ever at the desk; low water pressure in shower; thin cloth shower curtain that left water everywhere which is probably why the ceiling was stained. Super clean all around inside. Whirlpool, sauna and swimming pool are perfect after a long week of driving. The breakfast bar was larger than we had expected, and the kids really enjoyed making waffles. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Roswell. read more

Tricia, Berkeley and Karen were all great. I wish I could remember if it was Tricia or Karen who worked in the back helping prepare the morning hot and cold breakfast. She was so friendly and helpful that I had to walk over and complement her on her positive, upbeat spirit that was not fake in any way. I told her I was traveling through the state and she offered up some great suggestions. The front desk person (Karen or Tricia) was there the night before with Berkley and they were real helpful with suggestions of things to see in the area. It was a long ride over as I was traveling through the state. They had an indoor pool and hot tub and sauna. They came in real handy. The parking lot was spacious. The lobby was very clean and neat and they had hot coffee if I remember correctly. The place is about 3-4 miles from where the Roswell museum is. I'm not going back to Roswell but if I did, I'd stay here. The only negative was some idiot riding a 2 stroke motorbike in the nearby field which is not their fault read more

Nice and clean hotel. Super friendly staff. All you can eat free breakfast buffet....I would recommend waking up really early for the breakfast...around 8 it gets super crowded and everyone fighting for the waffle machine and waiting for more food to come out. So go for breakfast earlier than 8 am. They serve breakfast from 6-10. read more

I typically stay at the Marriott as they partner with my company but they were both full. So, I went with where I've stayed most of my life at the Hampton. When I travel on business, I look for the basics in a hotel. I don't really care about the pool, workout area, hot tub, etc. I want a suitable room and breakfast. The beds were comfortable. The pillows were fluffy. The AC/heater worked and worked quickly. The basics done well. The towels could be larger and not sandpapery but they've probably been washed a couple thousand times so I can't really knock too much for that. One of the things I have always loved about the Hampton is that they have hot breakfast. It's not gourmet, but eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, etc is pretty darn good. Top that with fresh juice, coffee, tea, and even a to-go bag for those in a hurry, you have a darn good stay. If I'm back on business, I will probably go with the Marriott because they are my company's preferred hotel but I would recommended this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Roswell. read more

The maids do an exceptional job and unlike some hotels, won't disturb you when you hang the don't disturb card on the door -that's an important one to me. Staying in a handicapped accessible room. The only thing accessible was the ability to get through the doorways. The tub yes I said tub inaccessible for some with mobility issues. The toilet was not a handicapped one but at least it had a grab to help. But the award for the worst feature in a handicapped accessible room goes to the bed, which was a struggle for me to get into, who knows how someone in a wheelchair would/could access the bed. When we questioned the manager he responded by giving us a step stool, adding this is how they solve this problem. Scary thought a person with mobility issues on a stepstool. read more

We needed to stop over in Roswell on our trip. Reviews led us to Hampton. The place was decent. The pool area was nice and also had a sauna. The rooms were clean, but the beds were not very comfortable. One of the front entrance doors was broken so there were lots of flies buzzing about the main area. This meant flies milled about the entry and joined us for breakfast. Not appetizing. read more

Hampton Inn and Suites is the perfect home base for adventurers in the Alien Capital of the word. The wife and I have been planning a trip to Roswell for years and Hampton Inn and Suites did not disappoint. It's perfectly located just inside town! It's not in the hub of all the excitement but it's literally down the street from it. It's also right next to an array of excellent dining. Once we settled in and dropped our luggage off to our room we escaped for our journey! But when we would arrive home each evening the pool, hot tub, and sauna were ready for us! At this location, these wonderful amenities stay open until 10pm. The room was large and comfortable. The bed was very comfy and layout of the hotel's floor plan was just right. With three floors and the elevator actually centrally located, we could come and go with ease. We also got to visit The Very Large Array outside of Socorro and Hampton Inn and Suites was the perfect home base for our adventure! We had such a wonderful time and each morning we got such a great selection of breakfast items to kick our day off right. We highly recommend Hampton Inn and Suites to anyone looking for a peaceful stay or for one hankering for a wild adventure into the unknown! read more

The Hampton Inn is a very, nice clean hotel. The staff is very friendly. The Hotel itself had a pool, sauna, workout room and whirlpool. All of which are kept nice and clean. You get a bottle of complimentary water which is nice after a long drive and complimentary cookies for the guests. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a suite due to the fact that the room we originally booked not being available. Extra space? Perfect, except for the fact that the room was only several feet away from the Mexican restaurant next door, loudly playing music until closing. The front desk clerk even saw that we had two little ones, and moved us into the room anyway. At that point, we had been trying to get the kids down for the night.
