I normally wouldn't review a chain hotel because they are all pretty much as expected. But this place went above and beyond. They met every single request I had, accommodated every need, and were incredibly polite. Main credit goes to the guy at the front desk when I got there. I believe his name was Quentice. We had just driven 8 hours from Indianapolis and longed for some absolute quiet. Our room happened to be on the first floor right next to the road. We usually don't make requests to change such things but we asked if it were possible to get one higher up. Quentice took care of us but also didn't make us feel bad or weird for asking. He absolutely made us feel at home and showed the utmost respect. He continued to be a great resource of information throughout our stay and he seemed very honest in all his responses. Absolutely horrible! As loyal Hilton customers we were appalled at the quality and conditions of the room. The room was extremely unsanitary. Stains on the walls, mold and water stains on the ceiling, carpet pieces coming up off of the floor, just a disgusting place overall. Over glorified motel 6. For $349 this was a complete rip off and far from the wonderful experience we expect to have at Hilton hotels. We have stayed in Atlanta before at other Hampton Inns and have had nothing but fantastic experiences. We are deeply troubled at the experience we had at this hotel and we will never return again. Had we not spent $349 for the night, we gladly would have left and booked a room at another hotel. Really ruined our trip and made for a disappointing time. I will be contacting corporate. read more

Had a little bit higher hope for this Hampton.. it was located centrally pretty close to the Downtown area. While it is convenient, the problem with the convenience was the noise. I couldn't sleep because you could hear trucks and cars riding by all night so it was super uncomfortable. The room was just OK and the whole property really needs to be updated. They also charge you $20 a day to park, which is not typical of Hampton. It left a lot to be desired. At the end of the day, this is the Hampton so I guess this is exactly what I should have expected. I would only stay again if I could get friends and family rate because it's definitely not what I would call luxury. Even though it was outdated, at least it was clean. read more

Staff was awesome. Location was decent. Valet person was AWESOME. Free breakfast was great but those rooms are hideous. They need to be upgraded. Rooms had a strong smell like you've been to the pool and wet the carpet but there's no pool. Light covers had stains some looked like blood. Walls had all different kinds of stains so did the window curtains. Towels are wayyyy too thin and so is the covers. It did what it had to do for a weekend stay but if you need anything longer I suggest else where. read more

Similarly to what others have said, staff are generally friendly but the hotel itself needs lots of updates. Rooms felt dated, especially the bathroom. The plumbing is finicky, and it is difficult to get hot water for the shower. For the price you pay to stay here, you can stay somewhere much much nicer at one of the many hotels nearby. Check in was smooth and the front desk clerk was very helpful with info about nearby restaurants. Rooms were clean though there's a significant amount of black mold in the bathroom under the sink. The next day we walked to the Georgia Aquarium and got caught in a pretty good rain storm on the way back. We had already checked out but our cars were still In the valet. We were absolutely soaked from the walk back. The front desk clerks were kind enough to give us some towels to dry off and let us use the restroom to change even though we had checked out already. They also gave us some bags for our wet clothes. We appreciated the extra effort. Thank you! read more

I had a great 4-day stay. Chose this location as I could walk to the recreation center at GA Tech, but an easy walk to fun restaurants and not a bad uber to other venues. Great room -- quiet -- consistent solid night sleep but the staff -- friendly, efficient and especially Kristan at the front desk always with a smile ready to assist. The gym actually has a weight bench and free weights to 45 lbs. Great venue for walking -- found it totally safe. Did I mention comfortable beds and cleanliness. I totally recommend rkkjr read more

had bedbugs , the curtains were dusty the floors are dark so you can't tell how dirty they are, plus the color is brown so wouldn't know if it's bugs on the floor. Headboard dusty behind the bed and they still had the nerve to still charge the card full price after saying they would handle the refund. My sister sat in a chair in the living room she itches all night. Woke up with bumps and whips on her arms and back. it's Dirty worst. I wanted to like it but this hotel has seen far better days. First, the good. The staff is truly lovely - good job management! Second, their COVID-version grab-and-go breakfast was actual food (cereal, packaged oatmeal, yogurt, etc.) which was better than any other hotel has done over the past months. But strangely breakfast the second day was missing most of these items. Now the bad: the rooms are really run down, with chipped paint and closet doors that don't close and the absolute rampant smell of mildew because of the humidity and no dehumidifiers. This hotel also had a bit of an unruly element - 2am partiers loudly in the hall one night. Now I know a hotel can't help people who misbehave on the way to their rooms but there were a lot of young 20-somethings goofing around loudly throughout the hotel so be prepared that either the price or the location may draw that crowd. read more

Stayed here before the holidays on my way to Birmingham. I chose this location due to it's proximity to The Varsity. Kind of an odd arrival as you pull in and the valet take the car 20 ft away to park it. I understand having to restrict parking at times being on campus, but it just seemed like a weird process. Check-in was smooth. It was clear that renovations were (are?) being done and signs were up apologizing for any mess. I liked the look and feel of the place; lots of Georgia Tech touches which I appreciated. Room was plenty spacious and everything felt new. Bed was very comfortable. Two small incidents from my stay. I left my hat in my car and asked the valet if I could get it. They looked in the book and couldn't find my car keys. There was about 6 minutes of panic before they were found in another car. Not a huge deal at all but could have been if that car left with my keys in it. Secondly, they offer a shuttle service (which is fantastic, especially with the parking set-up). I walked to The Varsity and then to a grocery store. As I checked out, I called the front desk and asked if the shuttle could come get me. I gave the street address and the cross streets of where I was. About 10 minutes later, I got a call from the shuttle driver. He was at the wrong location and said that the front desk had told him wrong. Within 8 minutes he was picking me up. Again, not a huge deal. Miscommunication happens but still. Not great. read more

I slipped in the shower here due to the lack of tread on the tub. I hadn't even soaped up yet. It looks like there is a tread on the tub, but it is worn away. I pitched forward onto the toilet lid, using my wrist to shield my eye. I ended up with the biggest purple shiner you have ever seen, with a hematoma on the side of my head, and a golf ball size swelling on my wrist. The hotel did nothing to ease my situation and front desk staff was entirely disinterested in my plight, which was obvious to anyone. Only the valet staff was interested in what had happened. A friend at the same conference slipped in her shower after that happened to me even though she was vigilant, due to the same lack of tread, but luckily was not injured. The hotel is very clean and the room that I am in is spacious and comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the tub, small fridge in the room, coffee is decent, but no microwave. Upon check in the staff was convinced we were at the wrong location because they didn't know where to look in the system for our group reservation. But they solved the issue quickly and also provided parking for my tour bus close to the front door. This location has an exercise room and I believe a pool too. I did not have time to explore however. I did have a few issues. 1) some shitty kid in the room above mine running heavy footed all morning. I complained and seemingly the noise stopped for literally five minutes. The front desk should have sent security up. 2) I needed a lift in the shuttle van. The lazy security guy had excuses as to why he didn't want to run me one mile up the road and back after the front desk promised he would. Über took me. No problems That the security guy lazily complained about were evident. If it were not for the seemingly inexperience and sometimes lazy staff members (not all of them but a few who were) I would rate this a 3.5 At least the rooms were nice. Too bad I can hear the room above me and outside noises too (I'm on the fifth floor) and can hear traffic. read more

Saw a small roach during the first couple of hours I was there. I reserved a king bed but got 2 queens. The front desk lady working there on did not want to change the room. I called later to see if I can change for a king bed for the next day (the second night). The lady I spoke with was friendly and suggested I check the morning since there are a lot of people checking out. A few mins later (she must have spoken to that other lady) she called back and apologized saying that there won't be anything available. It's clear they don't want to change the room, probably because it would create more work for housekeeping. They should have gotten the reservation right in the beginning. Basically, you will get dismissive treatment but with the sweetest smile. Subpar customer service cannot be negated with a fake smile. The only good part of the stay was that the valet guy working on 10/21 and part of 10/22 was very professional and respectful. He works quick and efficiently and with genuine courtesy. I should have gone to another hotel. Never coming back here again. read more

Very disappointing. My boyfriend and I travel a lot for work and this is one of the most disappointing Hilton properties we've stayed in recently. We are diamond with Hilton and still ended up in a conjoined room where the insulation is so non existent we could hear the person next doors phone conversation. When a family stayed there after, we could hear everything and are annoyed to know the names of the children next door as well as the entire family trip plans of our neighbors in addition to listening to their alarm go off for 20 minutes until they decided to turn it off. In the gym, the treadmill is out of commission and the elliptical sounds like it's going to break any minute just by using it. The one redeeming quality is the friendliness and hospitaof the hotel staff. Thank goodness this location has that going for them read more

TLDR: they have cockroaches! Would give this place a zero if I could. I stayed here this past Wednesday, October 17th until the 18th. I checked into my room and was in it for a bit. I was on the second floor and could hear everything in the room next to me. No big deal, I went to dinner with my friends. When I get back I happen to look at one of the tables in the room and there is a huge COCKROACH!!! It scurries to the wall and I immediately take my things out and head to the lobby. Thankfully I hadn't unpacked any of my things! I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk and told him that I needed to change rooms immediately. He tells me they're completely booked for the night. I ask to stay at a different Hilton location and he says they're all booked. He then calls the manager on the phone (it's later in the evening so she isn't there in person) and tells her about the cockroach. She has the audacity to tell him to ask me if I would be ok staying in the room with the cockroach for extra Hilton Honors points. Um, WHAT?! I looked at him in shock and said that is not going to work, I'm not sleeping in that room! Obviously at this point I didn't even want to sleep in that hotel! So her phone disconnects and he keeps trying to contact her again and she doesn't answer. He calls someone else to try and get assistance and finally he just decides to give me a different room on the fifth floor. As soon as I walk in the room on the fifth floor I head to the hallway to see if it's a non smoking room because it smelled heavily of cigarettes. It was supposedly smoke free, but ultimately wasn't. I didn't eat the breakfast because of the cockroach I saw. It was ultimately a very stressful stay and unprofessional. Will never stay there again. When I checked out nobody spoke to me about what happened and they totally ignored the issue. Never spoke to the manager, nor did she try and contact me. The room I stayed in was 203 by the way for any future individuals going there. Don't do it, find someplace closer to downtown. The entrance was also to me very poorly designed because cars pass in and out through there and it is hard to see people walking. read more

The quality of the accommodations are very important when considering lodging, but never forget that a hotel is definitely part of the service industry. We booked our room through the app while in a different state. Therefore, it was a bit of a surprise when I receive a telephone call from a number I did not recognize from Atlanta, GA. It was the Hampton Inn apologizing for the app. It seems that the app allowed us to book a room type that was already filled to capacity. (Who knew Georgia Tech was having a swim competition?!?) The nice lady offered to cancel the reservation, change the room type, jump through hoops, and anything else she can think of. She came up with a workable alternative. Upon arrival, everyone was genuinely friendly and happy. It's Friday night, with what seems to be a thousand LOUD college students and smiles. This is a smoothly functioning organization. Up to our room and there is a hand written note in a goodie bag apologizing (again) for the difficulties earlier in the day. Soft pillows. Clean sheets. Lovely artwork. A great view from our corner room of Georgia Tech on one side and the Atlanta skyline on the other. Definitely a win! I would not hesitate to stay at the Atlanta Hampton Inn if the opportunity arises in the future. You may wish to consider it as well. read more

Stayed six nights on business. Pros + Good location. As another reviewer mentioned, right next to the Georgia Tech campus which offers a nice safe area to jog/walk. Only a half mile walk straight down the road to Centennial Park, Coke Museum, Georgia Aquarium, CNN, downtown. Also not far from Mid-town. + Staff was very courteous and helpful. Received great information on getting to Turner Field by car. + Complimentary shuttle. + Complimentary breakfast. Fruit, pastries, cereal, variety of hot food depending on the day. Excellent choices. + Rooms are very spacious, clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of closet and storage space. + Security. You need a room key to operate the elevator at all times, not just after hours. Some may find it annoying to have to break out a room key every time to use the elevator and I know this isn't a fullproof method to keep the bad guys out. But I found it very nice to have some added peace of mind with an additonal measure of security. Well done. Cons - Valet parking only. Not a huge con because the daily charge isn't as much as many other big city hotels and the guys at the valet are fast and friendly. - Another mild con. If you're tired and want a quick bite to eat, your choices are pretty limited. You only have the Varsity (fast food) and Goodfellas Pizza (pizza, pasta, gyros) as your closest options. This is a very professionally run hotel with a lot of value added features (breakfast, shuttle, security) you will not be able to find at other more expensive hotels. The location isn't exactly right smack in the middle of downtown. However, you are close enough and the location offers a nice quiet, safe alternative to being in the city center. Great for work or leisure, this property is definitely recommended. read more

First night here the power goes out. Third day here, fire alarm goes off while I'm in shower! 6th floor room. Not as clean as it should be. Torn shower curtain, stained curtains, old tub with sandpaper floor, very low flow toilet..... This place is well worn. However, it is very convenient to GT, Coke headquarters, etc. parking is valet only $18 per day. GT trolly stop right across the street so it's easy to hop on and go where you need for free. read more

This hotel is a fairly typical Hampton Inn as to the rooms and the main facility. The breakfast is of course good with a decent selection (and is free, always nice). The room was clean and spacious and they had a well stocked "mini-mart" which is always nice since I don't usually have a car when I travel. In comparing this to other Hampton Inns it comes in at even. Two reasons I like this hotel in particular to other Hampton Inns. 1) It is on the corner of Georgia Tech's campus, which is beautiful and very inviting to an average runner. There is a 3.1mi marked trail that winds through the campus following the sidewalks (there is a map next to the "Georgia Tech" sign at the entrance. 2) It was an easy walk to the aquarium and centennial park and the CNN atrium and the coke experience and many of the main attractions downtown. (they do have a shuttle that runs limited times during the day, ask at the desk if you dont want to walk.) (one side note: small parking lot, valet only I believe, but since I didnt have a car, I'm not 100% certain.) If you get the chance and it's not a football weekend, check this hotel out if you are looking at staying downtown. read more

If you are looking for a COVID clean hotel that is peaceful this is NOT the hotel for you. On a positive note, the staff are super friendly and helpful but the positive ends there. I actually went and bought cleaning wipes to clean the whole room because it smelled bad and was dirty. The tub may have been wiped but never cleaned. The drain didn't drain water so showers were quick before the water really backed up. I did ask the front desk twice to have it looked at but no one ever came. I went and bought draino but that didn't help. I worked out in the fitness center the five days that I stayed at the hotel. Not once did it get cleaned or have fresh towels. I actually cleaned all the equipment myself from top to bottom. I know it didn't get cleaned because I would leave wipe wrappers around to see if it got cleaned. The water bubbler was gross. The public restroom was dirty and flooding for two days before some cleaned it. I actually never saw anyone cleaning for the five days that I was there. For the price I payed I really expected more. To top it off, we were on the ground floor and the traffic and noise was so loud that we couldn't sleep at night. The place needs a total rehab and staff committed to cleaning. read more

Pros:We stayed 2 nights while attending college bowl game. Staff was super friendly and helpful - breakfast bar had variety of choices. Room was clean and well kept. Easy walk to Georgia dome or reasonable cab fare ($13.00 one way) Hotel shuttle service was available but didn't use. Maybe alittle pricey but felt we were in a safe area so that justifies it. Cons: Slow elevator with only one working. Parking fee for a guy to go twenty feet to get your vehicle. Of course, garage is very tight so maybe its a trust thing!?!?! read more

Small hotel located right across street from Coke headquarters and Georgia Tech. Driveway area is cramped but there is valet parking. Also the hotel offers a free shuttle for transport within a 2-mile radius. That doesn't extend to Turner Field so we cabbed it. Warning - taxis can take a long time to arrive. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower hot. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so the mirror fogged over when I was trying to get ready. There was a refrigerator but no in-room safe. I tried a couple of browsers and messing around to connect to the in-room WiFi, but once connected the service was great. There was no printer available in the "business area" so I had to go behind the front desk and use theirs to print a boarding pass. The staff were very helpful in calling taxis, etc. The breakfast bar had small omelets with packets of hot sauce, toast sticks, cereal, pastries, yogurt and really good fresh fruit. All in all a solid choice. read more

My gripes: The price did NOT equal the experience. The hotel was easy to find - the front door and parking lot were more challenging. There is only one side/rear entrance that is small. Cars were backed up to the street when I arrived (total of 3 cars is all it took) and I had to circle the block to allow time for me to pull into the driveway without blocking traffic. Garage parking (the ONLY parking) is valet only at $18 a day. The large open lot to the other side of the hotel is actually GA Tech campus visitor parking. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the traffic noise was horrible. Fortunately I travel with ear buds and a white noise app on my phone for sleeping. It was very annoying while awake though. The curtains didn't block anything out and it overrode the TV volume. Speaking of the TV, the remote control quit working about 10 clicks in. I used my iPad and watched Netflix the rest of the evening since I had already changed for bed and didn't want to dress just to go down to the front desk for batteries. The hotel is dated, evidenced by the peeling tub and odor in the hallways. I wanted to take a bath, but the bottom was extremely rough and uncomfortable to even stand and shower on. Also the shower curtain didn't close completely, making it difficult to keep water from getting on the floor. My accolades: Walking distance to campus buildings since the hotel is right on the perimeter. The valet and front desk staff were extremely friendly. They assisted me with delivery options for food. The room was clean and well air-conditioned. HOT shower! The WiFi worked great and was relatively simple (for someone who is computer savvy to connect. Novices may have some difficulty as it was not intuitive. N/A: I did not take part in the breakfast since I was going to a career fair on the GA Tech campus that provided breakfast for vendors. read more

I stayed at this Hampton Inn for five nights and I had a good experience. Most of the staff were helpful when I needed to print, ship or fax something. The Hampton Inn breakfasts I've seen are pretty underwhelming. I wouldn't eat most of that food. The apples and oatmeal were about it for me. They have this continental buffet situation, and it's mostly packaged or microwaved food. No thanks. I did, however, really enjoy their free chocolate chip cookies and 4 choices of coffee almost the whole day. The coffee wasn't bad either, especially with the Hazelnut flavored cream. The room itself was standard fare. The valet parking is silly. You cannot park your vehicle at the hotel unless you use it. When I was there (September 2012) the lot was not so packed that a valet seemed necessary. Why does that even exist? With its convenience to Tech, I would come here again. read more

Cons: Everyone uses the shuttle so it is first come, first serve. A busy day took me an hour to go 1.5 miles with the other drop-offs. Another con, the noise! From the street noise to the loud humming of the ice maker in the hallway. Complimentary breakfast...meh. You could tell they used a liquid egg mixture and microwaved it to pass it off as scrambled eggs. My partner and I stayed for Labor Day Weekend, one of the busiest weekends in ATL. We arrived a bit too early to check-in and there were no rooms available. So instead, they checked us in (one of the smoothest check-ins ever) and held onto our bags while we grabbed lunch. The hotel provides a shuttle; they pick-up/drop-off within a two mile radius of the hotel for no additional cost. Sweet deal! Continental Breakfast was good, spacious seating and a large TV. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions so we were happy with our location! Front desk staff was very helpful when it came to suggestions for nearby restaurants and site-seeing. Especially Rod! He is an outstanding asset to Hampton Inn. From the time we checked in, he helped us set our bags, suggested several places to eat and tour and always made sure we were set. We stayed for a tour of Georgia Tech. The location and service was great, particularly our valet. The hotel is, literally, across the street and down one block from the Student Success Center. What is more, the staff were accommodating and helpful. They let us store our car there during the day and use the lobby for homework between tours. They even offered up good lunch suggestions and walk directions! The room wasn't anything to get excited about (it was a little moldy smelling) but it did have a refrigerator. read more

Today my 2 & 4 year old kids both had to go potty while we were stuck in major Atlanta traffic. I pulled off the highway and found the nearest place that looked like they could go. There was nothing for a few blocks, then I saw the Hampton Inn - I figured a hotel lobby would be simple enough. The man working at the front valet was casually talking to women who were parked in front and blocking the way into the parking lot. I tried going around and he stopped me. I said my kids need to go to the bathroom and he just said there's no public restroom and said we had to leave, and went back to talking. So then I was stuck and had to make a very awkward 6 point turn to get out while worried my kids were both going to you-know-what in the back. After a slow, trafficky, stressful drive, I finally found a gas station for them to go in. Crisis averted, but no thanks to the Hampton Inn. read more

These folks are just super nice and friendly. Hotel is in a good area. About a mile from the convention center. Valet parking is the only option Shuttle will take you anyplace within two miles of the hotel. The shuttle folks are awesome as well. Will be back for sure. read more
