Wanted to stay in a place that's peaceful, beautiful and walkable to a lot of places nearby. Sugar provided just that.. realized that I'll be coming into town early. I have emailed Kathryn (house manager) to see if I can check in early.. She responded promptly and said of course we can drop off our luggage's and talk a tour around the historic Inman Park. Fast Forward: Dropped in around 10am. And Kathryn asked if we can give her an hour too clean up the room since the previous guests just left.. Toured the area. It's gorgeous and definitely quiet. It's something I need. Walking around, admiring the area without much thinking. The Bed & Breakfast: Staffs: 5/5 Kathryn and the owner are great people. They take great pride in what they can provide and good at it.. Kathryn gave us warm welcome hugs when we walked in The Place: 5/5 I had the Royal Suite. Come with our private balcony, a large tub with whirlpool. The room is cozy and spacious. Very lovable! Overall: 5/5 I genuinely love this place.. My breakfast which I look forward too serves at 9am.. and it was healthy and yummy.. I sat down with 4 other people and we had a great conversation. This will be my top of the list when I visit again!

We stayed over New Years and the B&B was perfect. The location of the B&B is very close to the Krog Street Market so we walked around a lot. Boccalupo and Revolution Donuts is also like 2 minutes away if you're in the mood for fancy Italian food or donuts. Kathryn the innkeeper was also very accommodating. In keeping with covid restrictions, she brought our breakfast every morning to our room on a tray. She accommodated to our girl who has an egg and nut allergy by making a special allergy free breakfast just for her. Just make sure you call ahead and let them know about any allergy. Kathryn also specially set out a hot cocoa bar at night when we asked about nightly refreshments. Outside the rooms were teas, coffee, microwave, and a refrigerator for guests to use. Mugs, wine glasses, bottle openers, and irons were also provided for. Our room was a little chilly at first but we later found a heater which helped a lot. We stayed in the Garden room and it was perfect. If you have a kid, get the garden room! There is a loft area accessible via a ladder that our girl LOVED. This is a perfect B&B to stay at when exploring Atlanta and you want to stay at a historic house in Inman Park. The house has been maintained very well and is clean. I highly recommend staying here instead of getting a hotel. Since we stayed during the winter months, I will hopefully come again in the spring to enjoy the garden area.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip and I simply cannot recommend it enough. Firstly, the house is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous porch and garden area. The location is perfect and a five minute walk away from incredible restaurants at Krog street market and the beltline. Every single room is impeccably decorated and there is so much room to sprawl out and relax. There are tons of amenities- coffee, beers in the fridge, picnic baskets; really anything you could need. The breakfast was incredible both days and they seated everyone in separate areas to comply with COVID regulations. However, by a long shot, the best part was the host and owners. Kathryn was such a delight to talk to and I left feeling like we were old friends. She and the owners care so much about every guest and truly make you feel like family. We will be staying here every time we go to Atlanta.

Lovely bed & breakfast in Inman Park! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all the wonderful hospitality provided by Ms. Katherine & Ms. Josie! Delicious breakfast served. We stayed in the cottage suite and had our own little cottage behind the big house. The home is lovely, the grounds are inviting and this little place is walkable to so many of my favorite places to go in Atlanta! No need for a car! Love it! Ken & I will definitely be back! Big shout out of thankfulness to Sugar Magnolia and an even bigger shout out to my husband for bringing me here for the weekend! Off to shop! On foot, I might add!

As nice it looks on the outside.....even better on the inside!

I don't know if I can add much to what other people have written about this other-wordly incredibly hospitable bnb in the trendy safe and walkable Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta. When we left after our 3-night stay, we felt we were leaving new friends. You can question the validity of reviews in many cases, however everything that you read positive about this place..it's true! Love this bnb!

What a great place!!! Deserves 10 stars. Innkeeper Kathryn is amazing. I was blown away by the hospitality. Feels like you're staying with friends. Beautiful home, so unique and so many details to it. Amazingly well kept. Loved our room - the garden room. Staying here was something so unique so much better than a run of the mill hotel. Offered breakfast, refreshments, a mini fridge, coffee from a Kurig, books, magazines, a beautiful porch in our room... The list goes on. It's also in a beautiful neighborhood. Definitely recommend!!

Just returned from spending 5 nights at this wonderful B&B. A friend who I was visiting suggested I stay at Sugar Magnolia because of its proximity to their home and the activities we were going to do. I was a little apprehensive about being a single guy staying at a B&B, but my fears were unfounded. Beautiful Victorian home, well-kept, well appointed, with a beautiful garden. The owners and manager Kathryn couldn't have been more hospitable. Breakfasts were delicious. I stayed in the Garden Suite, which had a private bath, access to a rooftop deck overlooking the garden, plenty of windows, TV, and a very comfortable bed. I highly recommend Sugar Magnolia for your Atlanta stay.

Sugar Magnolia was as beautiful as the inn keeper, Kathryn Kain, was warm and inviting. I now have a permanent spot when I come to Atlanta!

This home is exquisite! I particularly liked entering from the back porch side and being greeted as it immediately gave the mind-set of, "Welcome." And soon after, "Welcome Home." The grounds gardens are an English garden oasis in this Midtown section. The property sits far enough off of Piedmont so that the city noise and traffic is hardly noticeable, yet you are only a couple of blocks from the park and some great restaurants. Everything is wonderful, from the gardens to the architecture and modern upgrades (our shower with ceiling and side wall heads), pasties, snacks, soft drinks at the ready, down to the smaller details like triple sheet bedding and French coffee pressed morning brew. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our host, Judy, was very personable and we connected with her immediately, especially in discussing our shared faith. The porches are spacious, quiet, and if desired, heated. Breakfast is served at a community style table, which also turned out to be pleasant, simply because the type of patron to this particular sort of inn (Select Registry) must have something in common! In fact, a young couple also staying here unexpectedly showed up at a folk concert we also attended in Kennesaw (25-30 miles North) at a community Church. I believe there are eight rooms in the main house, each with a private and spacious bathroom. Personal entry codes are provided and activated during your stay. We had an absolutely lovely time and will be back!

Decatur Alpaca Farm is more of a lifestyle than a physical space. Nestled in an unassuming…read moreresidential neighborhood, this magnificent microfarm and its beautifully manicured gardens, impeccably clean grounds, and hilariously entertaining animals offers such a whimsical and interesting escape from the hustle and bustle of the city -- it is an escape you surely will not want to miss. Marykay, who is by far one of the most interesting, friendly, and intelligent people we've ever met, greeted us with a fresh bowl of eggs hatched that same day from her flock of 25 chickens. The alpaca herd was visible from the nearby gate -- all were happily chomping away at a pile of orchard grass (which Marykay later informed us is the equivalent of alpaca pizza). They are inquisitive, yet a little shy, but if you respect them they will return the favor. Both alpacas, chickens, and cottage guests have plenty of space so as not to intrude upon one another. We opted for the Alpaca Experience, which is an absolute must-do for all guests. It is incredibly informational and as interactive as you'd like for it to be -- assuming you are putting the animals' needs ahead of your own. Marykay is incredibly knowledgeable and has literally built the farm from a small chicken coop to a very impressive, tidy, organized alpaca haven. It is very evident that all animals are so loved, respected, and maybe just a bit spoiled from time to time. All are rescued from varying degrees of past hardship but their new life on Marykay's farm is a blissful existence, as evidenced by their calm, enthusiastic, and curious demeanor. The cottage itself is adorable -- easily comparable to the spaces and vibes found in Garden and Gun or Southern Living. The refrigerator is stocked with all the conveniences of home, snacks and beverages are available for those late-night cravings, and coffee at the ready for early risers. Everything was clean, warm, cozy, and loved -- just like the farm animals. Dare we mention the alpaca fiber blankets available throughout the space? The entire experience is what you make of it. Should you want to hole up in the house (not recommended when alpaca/chicken watching is so entertaining and the spirit of the various flower/vegetable/dyes gardens being so alive, but who are we to tell you how to spend your time), Marykay will absolutely respect your boundaries. But, if you're looking to truly experience something unique, as her a few questions. You will not be disappointed. We travel often and book via Airbnb regularly, however no place has been quite as comfortable, unique, interactive, and interesting as Decatur Alpaca Farm. Marykay has created something so unique and heartwarming -- every open-minded adventurer should include this place as a stop on the bucket list. As for the casual traveler, a couple nights in her garden will erase all stress, even if the alpacas are not your thing. We did not want to leave.

She welcomes everyone here, and I don't mention that lightly in 2021. I used the property for a visual project some years ago, and kept in touch because it was that moving of an experience. As a Forth Club member, I expect professionalism, hospitality, and basic human decency from the staff and management. Unfortunately, what I saw made me seriously reconsider my membership. A African American female guest was waiting for her friends who had invited her. Her friends were delayed in traffic, and from what I observed, her room and information had already been verified. She had already been there for nearly two hours without issue. Instead of handling the situation with patience or professionalism, Brian was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and disrespectful toward her. What made it even worse was hearing Brian say, "I am trying to be nice." Respectfully, that is quite literally the job. Hospitality is not a favor it is the standard. Then he told her, "You're arguing with me," when from what I witnessed, she was simply trying to understand what was happening and why she was being treated that way. We chatted earlier and she was the nicest human. As a white woman watching this interaction, it was incredibly uncomfortable and honestly disgusting to witness. The way she was spoken to and treated felt completely inappropriate, especially for a hotel and club that markets itself as elevated, inclusive, and hospitality-focused. There was no need for the tone, the attitude, or the level of disrespect shown. A simple guest situation could have been handled with grace and professionalism. Instead, it left a very bad impression... not only of Brian, the new management hospitality group, but of the culture being ALLOWED at The Forth Hotel. This experience has genuinely made me rethink renewing my membership and whether I want to continue supporting Forth Club.
