Normally I wouldn't do an update so soon to my last ramblings as most hotels usually don't change that much over time, but what the hell. So the biggie is that the room we were given is definitely showing some age and a lack of maintenance PM-ing. The track for the sliding barn door for the bathroom is starting to rust and the door only moves on the track if you really put your back into it, the toilet seat was almost completely detached from the bowl, one of the corner guards in the bathroom is almost off the wall and the plastic O-ring around the shower head was ripped off the wall which means that the actual water pipe moves around a lot/way too easy. The breakfast was also a little shaky. The red potatoes were underdone by a few minutes and the turkey sausage links overdone and dried out by a few minutes. They also removed some breakfast seating that existed prior which I guess I could understand when the state had mandated pandemic restrictions but those are long gone and I've been to plenty of other Hampton locations/Hilton hotels where all breakfast/lobby seating was returned to normal a long time ago. There is still more than enough parking even on a busy weekend and the location is still good enough where you are close to the Expressway, the Parkway, NJT's Absecon train station along with some chain slop dining and the ever present A.C. Some of the other reviews for this place are fairly clueless and context free but understand that at the end of the day it's only a Hampton Inn. Sure there are some Hamptons that masquerade as resorts if it was built in a beachfront surrounding or as a full service property if it was built in an urban large city but at the core it is only a limited service property operating in the current hospitality environment where staffing has been permanently reduced which leads to what I wrote about. Lower/correct your expectations and this Hampton should be more than good enough.

After spending a week at the Hampton Inn in EHT, I have to update my review because I took some things for granted. The gym there is roomy and stocked with wipes and towels. Their breakfast has many quality options as compared to the other Hampton inn. And the elevators work there

Nice hotel but loud. Clean. There was a wedding party that kept me up most of the night. Breakfast was good.

They have just thought of it ALL! My 2nd stay here, and I will ALWAYS choose this property over anywhere else in the AC area! *****THIS IS A LONG READ*****…read more This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I must say, my check-in experience was horrible! This is my birthday weekend, so I came alone for a little R&R and self-care. I did not expect to be treated as horribly as I was! I arrived about 3:30 and went to the kiosk for express check-in, only to realize I had left my wallet in my car. I went over to the bell hop desk, where I was nicely greeted by Mario, to ask if I could leave my belongings there while I went to retrieve my wallet. Mario explained to me that he could hold my things, but had to grab a cart for them and give me a ticket as standard protocol. While I waited for him to return, the most RUDE, NASTY, ARROGANT, IMPOLITE, IGNORANT male comes to me yelling, "MA'AM YOU CAN'T LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE!" I told him to calm down and stop talking to me like that! I then tried explaining the situation to him, and what Mario told me, but before I could finish, he cut me off and yells... "Well he's new! That's why he told you to leave your stuff here! I'M THE BELL CAPTAIN! HE SHOULD'VE CAME AND GOT ME! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE, YOU NEED A TICKET!" I asked him why he was yelling! There was no need for that, especially if I'm not speaking to him that way! He replies while flailing his arms around, "OH HERE WE GO! HERRRRRE WE GO!" I tried again to explain that Mario had already told me that, but Mr. "Bell Captain" who I later found out name is Saleem, was so bent on letting me know his position that he couldn't even hear what I was saying. Mario then comes back with the cart, and he proceeds to yell at Mario! "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! WHO AM I??? WHO AM I ??" Mario and another Bellman quietly says, "Bell Captain." He then says, "YEAH SO THAT'S WHY Y'ALL CHECK WITH ME FIRST!" I stepped in and told him that if he's a real leader, he doesn't have to blast who he is, (not to mention it was on his name tag) and he should not be embarrassing his employees publicly. He could have talked to him in the back and let him know what he did wrong. I didn't need to see that! I also told him, I'm not sure if he's having a bad day, but there was no reason for him to behave this way! He starts yelling...again...."I'M GREAT! ALL MY BILLS ARE PAID! I GOT MONEY IN THE BANK! I'M GOOD!" I don't understand what that had to do with anything but whatever. He then went back to yelling about him being the Bell Captain and what the protocol was for me leaving my stuff there. CLEARLY he missed that Mario did the right thing from the beginning! Mr. Bell Captain just felt the need to power trip in that moment for whatever reason. I told him he needed to listen and not interrupt when someone is speaking because he would have known that it was handled correctly! He put his hand up and says, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU!" I looked at Mario, thanked him for helping me and told him he did nothing wrong. This situation made me so angry that I burst into tears! To add insult to injury, after all the drama, I was waiting for over an hour to get my belongings because SOMEONE put the incorrect room number in the system. I found that out because I had to go back down to the lobby to see what was going on with my things. I was late for my dinner reservation, and my night was pretty much ruined. I couldn't fully enjoy my dinner the way I'd hoped to. I actually cried while at the restaurant because I was still so frustrated with how everything had gone. Not only did I come here to rest and relax, I came her to try and release some of my grief from the loss of my Baby Brother. Hopefully my spa experience will be much better. Shout out to "T" whom I believe was the Operations Manager. He helped me calm down and agreed to address Saleem and the issue. However, I wanted this situation to be documented. NOBODY should ever be able to get away with mistreating ANYONE no matter their position. I WILL be pursuing this further until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

I've stayed at Marriott properties for approximately 12 years and have accumulated 800+ nights with Marriott, so I have a pretty good understanding of the standards I expect from the brand. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Borgata was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had. We checked in Saturday. That evening, we went to put food in our refrigerator and discovered food belonging to a previous guest still inside the fridge. Gross, but I initially brushed it off as an isolated housekeeping oversight. The next morning, things got significantly worse. The TV in our room wasn't working, and when my friend went to take a shower, she discovered a significant amount of someone else's hair sitting in the shower drain. There was also no soap in the bathroom hand-soap dispenser, so we had to call to have that addressed. At that point, we went to the front desk and spoke with Connor, a manager. We explained everything, and he was apologetic and told us he would put a $100 food & beverage credit on our room and send housekeeping up to properly clean the room. We appreciated the response and went back upstairs. Except housekeeping never came. After waiting, I called the concierge to check on the request, only to be told that there was no housekeeping request in the system. The concierge then put one in and I asked how long it would take because we needed to get ready for dinner. I was actually told that I could take a tissue and remove the hair from the shower drain myself. I'm sorry, but absolutely not. I paid to stay in a hotel room. I should not be cleaning another guest's hair out of the shower drain myself. Eventually, housekeeping did come. However, after the housekeeper left, the hair was STILL in the shower drain. I literally had to follow the housekeeper into the hallway and point out that the hair had not been removed. This is not about expecting perfection. Hotels make mistakes. It is about basic cleanliness and the fact that we repeatedly gave the property opportunities to fix the problem, and somehow the most obvious issue was still not addressed. Then, to make matters worse, I received our folio after checking out and discovered that the $100 food & beverage credit Connor specifically promised us was never applied. So now I'm left wondering what, exactly, was being done to resolve the situation. I have stayed at an enormous number of Marriott properties over the years and have never experienced this combination of poor housekeeping, lack of communication, and failure to follow through on a commitment made by management. Food left in the refrigerator. Hair from a previous guest in the shower drain. Missing soap. Broken TV. Housekeeping request not entered. Being told to clean the hair myself. Hair still left in the drain after housekeeping. And finally, the promised $100 credit not applied. That is an extraordinary number of basic failures for one stay. The Borgata is a major property, and as a Marriott-affiliated hotel, I expected significantly better.

This was the last room available, and for $12. I said hey why not. It's bad but for the price I paid what was I expecting? I read bad reviews on google about the man at the check in counter... But I honestly didn't have a bad experience. I went in expecting the worst but he was not rude. Everything was good for me. The check in process was SOOO easy. Took 4 minutes... I had booked on Travelocity. Got room 219... 2 queen sized beds... I checked the entire room with my flashlight to make sure there were no bugs. I saw none, though I saw plenty of dust behind the fridge, microwave, on the floor, walls, and a cobweb in the corner of the room. I don't know when was the last time someone cleaned these spots, but it would be nice. Luckily I'm not sneeZing from allergies so that is good enough for me. Just need to sleep here and then go out to boardwalk in a few hours. There are no tissues, and I am definitely not going into the tub or using the towels . I'm strictly here just to stay for the night and then I will be on my merry way. My middle lamp wasn't working ... Maybe it was on purpose so I would miss the grossest thing in the entire room... And possibly my grossest finding in a motel. Not sure if it is shit or blood but looks like it. See pic. On side of my bed. Ew

We started talking to the man and he demanded a $40 deposit after we had already paid the full amount months prior! Also HAD to be a cash deposit and no where on the website does it say anything about that ! As we are trying to explain to the man at the desk he started getting very loud with us and we had a prior engament already and need to go ! So we say whatever and get the key! Yet again it doesn't work and even grab a nice man to help us and it didn't work for him either I go back again and I say sir please we really need to go it has been an hour of waiting at this point and I ask for help he would not get up from his desk and proceeded to call me hyper becasue we really needed to go to a prior engament ! So then he give me a new key go to that room and thank goodness it opens ! Not really , it was disgusting! Bugs on the wall , wholes in beds blankets , outlet covers off the wall and the ones still on the wall can't even hold a charger without falling out ! The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were covered in mold and tiles were wilted and falling out! Bath tub was moldy and stained ! Mold on the ceiling , food that look like fruit smeared into the floor! Lamps that were not even standing straight! The tv for sod take had instructions had to turn on becasue it didn't work right ! Ever corner of that room was just not cleaned! And it shows from more than just 1 or 2 days ! No body in there right mind would stay there escoecially if you have kids! With that being said we didn't feel comfortable and or safe to stay the whole weekend! We decided to go see what the front desk could help us out with ! So me and my friend both go in and try to explain we're not happy and have pictures to prove it! As we're trying to trying to show him the pictures he tell us to back up we're on camera he doesn't need any problems. Ok we move away to the front and this whole time he is being very loud with us! Proceeds to tell us there's no bugs in there , he can't help us , all the rooms were booked out and no refund ! Basically said get the business done stay or leave he really could care less he got our money! It was the most crazy bizarre experience I highly don't recommend bringing your dogs there !
