Ali at the front desk was very rude, demanded a $40 cash deposit instead of placing it on my card. Would not grant a refund, so I lost my $

Absolutely atrocious. This place scams people by requiring a $40 cash deposit once you get there on top of what you already paid online booking with a credit card. I don't carry cash with me, so the Muslim guy at the front desk said I'd have to use an ATM which would charge an astronomical fee for a cash advance on your credit card. It does NOT cost anything for the hotel to put a hold on a card for incidentals. This is the only hotel I've ever been to which has asked for a cash deposit. I did not end up staying, and the gentleman refused to allow Orbitz to call him to issue a refund which is possible to do and make an exception when booking through a 3rd party. The gentleman (in the picture) was extremely rude and would not provide his name either so I knew who I spoke to. I asked if he was the owner or manager, but he refused to say. As I was leaving he shouted "fuck you." Update: Orbitz did try contacting on my behalf and spoke to the gentleman in the picture whose name is Ali. I completely lost my money. If I were running a hotel and someone didn't want to stay, I'd gladly grant the refund so long as they didn't check into the room. Thank you Ali for stealing my money. It does not cost the company anything to put an incidental hold on your credit card; it is a temporary authorization that reserves a portion of your available credit for potential incidental charges, such as mini-bar snacks or room service, which reduces your available credit. The company is essentially just flagging funds to ensure they are available should you accrue these extra charges, and they don't incur fees for placing this hold. A hotel should NEVER require a cash deposit. It should always be on a card. That does not cost the hotel OR the guest anything. Forcing someone to use an ATM to incur an astronomical fee is unfair to the guest.

As a homeless mom of 4 I will not recommend this not even if it was 1 cent . I stood here because my situation turn to be last minutes was my last option and the fucking nerve off not only charging me 75$ a night knowing that online is 23$ a night but kicked us out cause I had to many kids. After they knew but the worse is that Not only the wi-fi didn't work, tv didn't work, the microwave was dirty, bed was falling off the wall, the sheets wasnt even change or pillow cases. The only thing was clean was the drawer smh. Not Worth it.

Lies, lies, lies. Don't believe the pictures on Expedia and Hotels.com. Because of their no cancellation and return policy, they keep your money and A COPY OF YOUR CREXIT CARD (potential fraud alert), whether you stay or not. A total scam. Not worth your money. Go elsewhere. A slum bug infested motel. Old outdated TV from the 90's that was 9 inches thick (no flat screens). Cracked paint, dirty shower grout, dirty walls, floors, and comforters with patches of soot. Non existent closet. Broken features were dangling on one screw. Multiple holes in walls which were stuffed with toilet tissue. Broken smelly fridge. You can tell the property owner is cheap and did nothing to it for years except repainted the exterior of the hotel to attract unknowing and unsuspecting customers. It shouldn't be called a Superlodge but a Super Sh***y Lodge. Very poorly maintained-if maintained at all. The continental breakfast like the hotel is a scam. They only provide coffee and tiny muffin. Rude front desk clerk.

Bed sheets laying by the stairs outside on the ground

This place doesn't even deserve a single star. Dirty floors,Cigarettes burns in non smoking room, microwave broken and smoking, no Wi-Fi, no ice in machines, no snack in machines, rude front desk clerk, most outlets in room don't work, air conditioner has mold and dirt. clerk makes you go to an atm to give $20 cash deposit so they don't have to pay credit card fees. This place is joke. And this place has roaches!!

Sign out front says AAA/ AARP discount, that's a lie! Free continental breakfast, another lie! My tv didn't work!

This place is a dump please don't stay here go somewhere else some times we want to save money and we get what we pay for. I have pictures because when I go in to a room I check for bed bugs and that the place is clean. I found plastic cups that weren't wrapped in plastic and they look like they where rinse and put back for people to reuse. I found dirt in a corner of the room like if the housekeepers sweeps everything to that corner to pick it up and it wasn't very clean. The bed sheets dirty with stains , double pillowcases on the pillows I guess for you can't see the pillows , the curtains one was see true while the other was very dark , the bathroom fan for the exost didn't work , I took one of the towels to dry my self and found two holes on the towel , I found a spider web on a corner of the room , and the last thing I found a wine spill on one of the end tables. I hope I can post my pictures now on here thank you.

I would give a 0 if I could. I called early this afternoon to let them know we'd be arriving late. Right away, the clerk was very rude. He told me that check-in is usually between 3-10. I understand that, and I pre-paid for the room. He informed me that he doesn't get paid to wait for guests. Next was our check-in. I had reserved a room that should have been handicap accessible. I cannot do stairs. He told me that he did not have that on my reservation, and that because everyone else checked in, I had to be on the 2nd floor, no elevator. I was charged a $40 cash deposit, and I was not informed of this on the phone. Plus he took my credit card. There are 2 of us staying here, but he said they will only issue one key. He was VERY rude through the entire process. THEN we got to the room. It's dirty, it's damaged and the toilet does not stop running, but we have no other choice but to stay in this DUMP because the entire area is full. I'm adding photos of the room so I hope people take it seriously.

    The bed cover

This place was the worst of the worst , they have the audacity to charge over $200 for a one night stay. First off the Desk Clerk was very unprofessional and rude . The room was so dirty from the ceilings to the rugs !!! The bed had stains on it and also the walls, the bathtub had cigarette stains ! The floor was so dirty that our feet were so black for walking barefoot it was scary , It was unbelievable!! I can't understand that with a pandemic still occurring that this establishment would be so unsanitary, it's absurd. I do not and will not recommend this place to my worst enemy !!! Do not ever stay here !!!

Disgusting dirty flop house of a motel. I have never stayed it a more disgusting and dirty hotel as this one. As soon as I got home I washed all of my clothes, even the clothes I didn't wear in the hot water because I was afraid of the dirtiness of this room. I can't believe that Hotels.com would have this hotel on their roster. To start off I can't quite Describe the smell. It was a general dirty thick kind of moldy smell. If I didn't arrive late at night I would have left and went and looked for another place to stay. Half of the lights in the room had burnt out bulbs and it took me a half hour to hook up the television. The view from my room was a highly littered yard filled with trash and debris. No smoke alarm, just uncapped wires handing from a stained ceiling where a smoke alarm used to be. In the morning when I went to take a shower I was overwhelmed by the mold around the top of the shower and the floor of the shower. This bathroom has deafly never seen bleach or cleaner in its entire lifetime. Above the door or loose wires hanging down where I think the smoke alarms are used to be visually it was frightening and safety wise highly questionable. There is obviously no maid service in this hotel as when I came back to my room nothing was me they were still wet towels hanging from the shower bar, any trash in the trashcan that was there from the previous guest. When I called the front desk there was simply no answer. I would avoid this hotel, and I'm using the word hotel very loosely, at all cost. There are several nice hotels in ab seeking New Jersey right outside of Atlantic City that I've had excellent experiences in, This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my entire life. The lack of cleanliness and maintenance is shameful. Be safe, stay away from this gross dirty unmaintained hotel.

    Dirty walls & door.

*****THIS IS A LONG READ*****…read more This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I must say, my check-in experience was horrible! This is my birthday weekend, so I came alone for a little R&R and self-care. I did not expect to be treated as horribly as I was! I arrived about 3:30 and went to the kiosk for express check-in, only to realize I had left my wallet in my car. I went over to the bell hop desk, where I was nicely greeted by Mario, to ask if I could leave my belongings there while I went to retrieve my wallet. Mario explained to me that he could hold my things, but had to grab a cart for them and give me a ticket as standard protocol. While I waited for him to return, the most RUDE, NASTY, ARROGANT, IMPOLITE, IGNORANT male comes to me yelling, "MA'AM YOU CAN'T LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE!" I told him to calm down and stop talking to me like that! I then tried explaining the situation to him, and what Mario told me, but before I could finish, he cut me off and yells... "Well he's new! That's why he told you to leave your stuff here! I'M THE BELL CAPTAIN! HE SHOULD'VE CAME AND GOT ME! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE, YOU NEED A TICKET!" I asked him why he was yelling! There was no need for that, especially if I'm not speaking to him that way! He replies while flailing his arms around, "OH HERE WE GO! HERRRRRE WE GO!" I tried again to explain that Mario had already told me that, but Mr. "Bell Captain" who I later found out name is Saleem, was so bent on letting me know his position that he couldn't even hear what I was saying. Mario then comes back with the cart, and he proceeds to yell at Mario! "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! WHO AM I??? WHO AM I ??" Mario and another Bellman quietly says, "Bell Captain." He then says, "YEAH SO THAT'S WHY Y'ALL CHECK WITH ME FIRST!" I stepped in and told him that if he's a real leader, he doesn't have to blast who he is, (not to mention it was on his name tag) and he should not be embarrassing his employees publicly. He could have talked to him in the back and let him know what he did wrong. I didn't need to see that! I also told him, I'm not sure if he's having a bad day, but there was no reason for him to behave this way! He starts yelling...again...."I'M GREAT! ALL MY BILLS ARE PAID! I GOT MONEY IN THE BANK! I'M GOOD!" I don't understand what that had to do with anything but whatever. He then went back to yelling about him being the Bell Captain and what the protocol was for me leaving my stuff there. CLEARLY he missed that Mario did the right thing from the beginning! Mr. Bell Captain just felt the need to power trip in that moment for whatever reason. I told him he needed to listen and not interrupt when someone is speaking because he would have known that it was handled correctly! He put his hand up and says, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU!" I looked at Mario, thanked him for helping me and told him he did nothing wrong. This situation made me so angry that I burst into tears! To add insult to injury, after all the drama, I was waiting for over an hour to get my belongings because SOMEONE put the incorrect room number in the system. I found that out because I had to go back down to the lobby to see what was going on with my things. I was late for my dinner reservation, and my night was pretty much ruined. I couldn't fully enjoy my dinner the way I'd hoped to. I actually cried while at the restaurant because I was still so frustrated with how everything had gone. Not only did I come here to rest and relax, I came her to try and release some of my grief from the loss of my Baby Brother. Hopefully my spa experience will be much better. Shout out to "T" whom I believe was the Operations Manager. He helped me calm down and agreed to address Saleem and the issue. However, I wanted this situation to be documented. NOBODY should ever be able to get away with mistreating ANYONE no matter their position. I WILL be pursuing this further until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

I've stayed at Marriott properties for approximately 12 years and have accumulated 800+ nights with Marriott, so I have a pretty good understanding of the standards I expect from the brand. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Borgata was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had. We checked in Saturday. That evening, we went to put food in our refrigerator and discovered food belonging to a previous guest still inside the fridge. Gross, but I initially brushed it off as an isolated housekeeping oversight. The next morning, things got significantly worse. The TV in our room wasn't working, and when my friend went to take a shower, she discovered a significant amount of someone else's hair sitting in the shower drain. There was also no soap in the bathroom hand-soap dispenser, so we had to call to have that addressed. At that point, we went to the front desk and spoke with Connor, a manager. We explained everything, and he was apologetic and told us he would put a $100 food & beverage credit on our room and send housekeeping up to properly clean the room. We appreciated the response and went back upstairs. Except housekeeping never came. After waiting, I called the concierge to check on the request, only to be told that there was no housekeeping request in the system. The concierge then put one in and I asked how long it would take because we needed to get ready for dinner. I was actually told that I could take a tissue and remove the hair from the shower drain myself. I'm sorry, but absolutely not. I paid to stay in a hotel room. I should not be cleaning another guest's hair out of the shower drain myself. Eventually, housekeeping did come. However, after the housekeeper left, the hair was STILL in the shower drain. I literally had to follow the housekeeper into the hallway and point out that the hair had not been removed. This is not about expecting perfection. Hotels make mistakes. It is about basic cleanliness and the fact that we repeatedly gave the property opportunities to fix the problem, and somehow the most obvious issue was still not addressed. Then, to make matters worse, I received our folio after checking out and discovered that the $100 food & beverage credit Connor specifically promised us was never applied. So now I'm left wondering what, exactly, was being done to resolve the situation. I have stayed at an enormous number of Marriott properties over the years and have never experienced this combination of poor housekeeping, lack of communication, and failure to follow through on a commitment made by management. Food left in the refrigerator. Hair from a previous guest in the shower drain. Missing soap. Broken TV. Housekeeping request not entered. Being told to clean the hair myself. Hair still left in the drain after housekeeping. And finally, the promised $100 credit not applied. That is an extraordinary number of basic failures for one stay. The Borgata is a major property, and as a Marriott-affiliated hotel, I expected significantly better.
