Absolutely atrocious. This place scams people by requiring a $40 cash deposit once you get there on top of what you already paid online booking with a credit card. I don't carry cash with me, so the Muslim guy at the front desk said I'd have to use an ATM which would charge an astronomical fee for a cash advance on your credit card. It does NOT cost anything for the hotel to put a hold on a card for incidentals. This is the only hotel I've ever been to which has asked for a cash deposit. I did not end up staying, and the gentleman refused to allow Orbitz to call him to issue a refund which is possible to do and make an exception when booking through a 3rd party. The gentleman (in the picture) was extremely rude and would not provide his name either so I knew who I spoke to. I asked if he was the owner or manager, but he refused to say. As I was leaving he shouted "fuck you." Update: Orbitz did try contacting on my behalf and spoke to the gentleman in the picture whose name is Ali. I completely lost my money. If I were running a hotel and someone didn't want to stay, I'd gladly grant the refund so long as they didn't check into the room. Thank you Ali for stealing my money. It does not cost the company anything to put an incidental hold on your credit card; it is a temporary authorization that reserves a portion of your available credit for potential incidental charges, such as mini-bar snacks or room service, which reduces your available credit. The company is essentially just flagging funds to ensure they are available should you accrue these extra charges, and they don't incur fees for placing this hold. A hotel should NEVER require a cash deposit. It should always be on a card. That does not cost the hotel OR the guest anything. If I could give negative stars, I would. Very rude and unprofessional staff. Booked my hotel to visit friends and family nearby. My friend helped me bring things into the room and the front desk manager called me saying my friend needed to present an ID and pay. That makes no sense given he was only staying for a second to help me. He was not staying the night. Manager said "I don't care, I need his ID." So after being in the room for 5 minutes, we left. Red flag #1. The room was filthy and disgusting. Definitely not worthy of staying. The once blue floor was black with dirt and grime. There was used gum on the headboard of the bed also. The shower had mold, which is a huge health risk. Also none of the lights worked. They were unplugged for some reason, then after I plugged them back in, still did not work. Brought this up with the hotel manager and he brushed me off, basically saying I don't know how to work a light switch. Newsflash, I tried both the switches on the wall and on the lamps themselves. Of course I know how to work a light-switch. Very condescending man that works there and tries to make you feel stupid and blames you for the state of a room I spent less than 20 minutes in total. Red flag #2 Decided not to stay there and moved to the Days Inn up the road. Manager did not want to give me a refund. I booked a room here for one week, and I have a service dog with me. I left to go to work one morning to go to work and the guy called animal control on me to get my dog take away. Animal control then explained that what he was asking was illegal, because she is a service animal. Then he called his boss, and his boss told him to make me sign a paper that says if I leave her in the room while I go to work he has the right to "contact the authorities". I've definitely had better than this. I got a free night from Cesar's so I decided to come one day earlier so I wouldn't have to drive in the morning to AC. This was the last room available, and for $12. I said hey why not. It's bad but for the price I paid what was I expecting? I read bad reviews on google about the man at the check in counter... But I honestly didn't have a bad experience. I went in expecting the worst but he was not rude. Everything was good for me. The check in process was SOOO easy. Took 4 minutes... I had booked on Travelocity. Got room 219... 2 queen sized beds... I checked the entire room with my flashlight to make sure there were no bugs. I saw none, though I saw plenty of dust behind the fridge, microwave, on the floor, walls, and a cobweb in the corner of the room. I don't know when was the last time someone cleaned these spots, but it would be nice. Luckily I'm not sneeZing from allergies so that is good enough for me. Just need to sleep here and then go out to boardwalk in a few hours. There are no tissues, and I am definitely not going into the tub or using the towels . I'm strictly here just to stay for the night and then I will be on my merry way. My middle lamp wasn't working ... Maybe it was on purpose so I would miss the grossest thing in the entire room... This place is a dump please don't stay here go somewhere else some times we want to save money and we get what we pay for. I have pictures because when I go in to a room I check for bed bugs and that the place is clean. I found plastic cups that weren't wrapped in plastic and they look like they where rinse and put back for people to reuse. I found dirt in a corner of the room like if the housekeepers sweeps everything to that corner to pick it up and it wasn't very clean. The bed sheets dirty with stains , double pillowcases on the pillows I guess for you can't see the pillows , the curtains one was see true while the other was very dark , the bathroom fan for the exost didn't work , I took one of the towels to dry my self and found two holes on the towel , I found a spider web on a corner of the room , and the last thing I found a wine spill on one of the end tables. I would give a 0 if I could. I called early this afternoon to let them know we'd be arriving late. Right away, the clerk was very rude. He told me that check-in is usually between 3-10. I understand that, and I pre-paid for the room. He informed me that he doesn't get paid to wait for guests. Next was our check-in. I had reserved a room that should have been handicap accessible. I cannot do stairs. He told me that he did not have that on my reservation, and that because everyone else checked in, I had to be on the 2nd floor, no elevator. I was charged a $40 cash deposit, and I was not informed of this on the phone. Plus he took my credit card. There are 2 of us staying here, but he said they will only issue one key. He was VERY rude through the entire process. THEN we got to the room. It's dirty, it's damaged and the toilet does not stop running, but we have no other choice but to stay in this DUMP because the entire area is full. Disgusting dirty flop house of a motel. I have never stayed it a more disgusting and dirty hotel as this one. As soon as I got home I washed all of my clothes, even the clothes I didn't wear in the hot water because I was afraid of the dirtiness of this room. I can't believe that Hotels.com would have this hotel on their roster. To start off I can't quite Describe the smell. It was a general dirty thick kind of moldy smell. If I didn't arrive late at night I would have left and went and looked for another place to stay. Half of the lights in the room had burnt out bulbs and it took me a half hour to hook up the television. The view from my room was a highly littered yard filled with trash and debris. No smoke alarm, just uncapped wires handing from a stained ceiling where a smoke alarm used to be. In the morning when I went to take a shower I was overwhelmed by the mold around the top of the shower and the floor of the shower. This bathroom has deafly never seen bleach or cleaner in its entire lifetime. Above the door or loose wires hanging down where I think the smoke alarms are used to be visually it was frightening and safety wise highly questionable. There is obviously no maid service in this hotel as when I came back to my room nothing was me they were still wet towels hanging from the shower bar, any trash in the trashcan that was there from the previous guest. When I called the front desk there was simply no answer. I would avoid this hotel, and I'm using the word hotel very loosely, at all cost. There are several nice hotels in ab seeking New Jersey right outside of Atlantic City that I've had excellent experiences in, This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my entire life. My check in was Friday 3pm. I was running way behind schedule and didn't check in until midnight. I gave them a call around 6pm to make sure I would still have my room. When I arrived the gentleman was very nice and respectful & I still had my room. Only was given 1 room key but that didn't bother me. I didn't need any extra so idk if that's true but I did ask the man in the front if I needed would it be a problem he assured me there wouldn't be as long as I requested them before housekeeping left for the night. Around 930am Saturday housekeeping knocked to ask if we needed any services. I declined but was offered to swab my used towels for fresh ones. My room phone wasn't connected but I used my cellphone to call the front when I needed to ask something and I had no problem getting through. Plenty of parking available for hotel guests. Sometimes you just need a place to lay your head. Well we were heading down to AC for one night and the casinos were charging way more than I was willing to pay just to sleep. This highway seems to be a hidden gem with plenty of options but we settled upon here based on reviews coupled with the rate. The check-in process was simple enough and our room was prepared by the time we arrived on site. But that leads to the first problem. When we got to the room we could not open the door with the key provided. Went back downstairs to the front desk and got the card reprogrammed. Walked back upstairs only to not have it work again. Went back to the front desk again and this time the clerk came up with is. Turns it there's a trick which is to bend the card downward so it can read, that would've been nice if she told me that before having to go back down. Upon entering the room I would at the color choices were a nice change of pace for the typical plain beige in typical motel/lower end hotels. Now onto problem number two. Got to the bathroom and there was no hand soap. We called and that item got delivered. Makes you wonder who cleans up! On then other hand the towel was comfy, it was a 10 minute drive to Harrah's and I saved a few hundred bucks. When we arrived we had to wait outside of the building to check in because there was a sign that said "be back in 5 minutes" and we got there at checkin time. As soon as my boyfriend and I went into the room we saw stains all over the walls, doors, and carpet. The toilet seat had pee all over it and the bathtub had hair in it. We booked this hotel for a non-smoking pet room and were even willing to pay the double price (making it $75) when we could have lied and said we had no pet. When checking in, the manager (and no doubt owner) realized we had a pet, he tried putting us in a smoking room. He even gave us the key to a smoking room to check that it wasn't too smoky before taking it... when I checked the room, one of his cleaning guys was in there eating pizza, watching TV and smoking! He even defended himself immediately by saying "it's a smoking room, it's OK". I told the manager what I'd found, he'd said I was lying and that what do you expect, it's a smoking room?" Why exactly was the cleaning guy "cleaning a room" after 3:30pm anyway? Check-in is 2:00. I said if he had a different smoking room, we'd take that one, but he didn't. And it wasn't until after 20 minutes of threatening to cancel and my calling Hotels.com and his wife over hearing the conversation did he cave in and give us THE ROOM WE'D BOOKED TO BEGIN WITH... a non-smoking, 2 queen bed on the 1st floor!!! I was turned away by an awfully disheveled, evil man, who reminded me I could not cancel my reservation and would loose my money if I didn't return to check in! The wifi was horrible, the beds were u-shaped, the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, the sink was so clogged that we would have to wait about 30 minutes for the water to drain after brushing your teeth. Overall, just really not worth it, even at such a cheap price. The breakfast? Absolutely no options besides coffee, hot water, and cinnamon buns. We asked for new sheets and got some sas from what I think was the manager. Floor was nasty and so were the walls and sheets and pillows. The sheets had multiple hairs on them and burn marks on them. We had to go buy cleaning supplies to even feel hygienic being in that room. The AC was barely okay.
