Sadly, I have to give the Hampton in Bartow only 2 stars. The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. Well, most of them. My Airbnb cancelled upon arrival in Florida so I was left to find lodging same day last minute for 4 nights. We had plans to go to Legoland for a couple days so staying in winter haven was the plan. Arriving at the hotel, it was 9pm, there were 2 people working, they were both speaking Spanish helping one person. There were 3 of us in line. After about 10 minutes it appears to be my turn. I check and ask if there is a double queen available. She said not today but she could check tomorrow. Fine. We wake up to a bug infestation - really fast moving ants that kindof look like spiders. We pack up, call the front desk, they say they will move us. We were gone for the day and when we return,we have a new king room. Mind you, we are still looking for a double queen. It's still not available, maybe tomorrow. Ok... Day 3, we call to see if we can get a double queen for the remaining 2 nights. This person says no, you've already moved rooms once, so no. Really? We moved rooms because YOU have bugs. F*^% you. The pool has a ton of hair on the floor. The rooms aren't very clean. The chaise lounge has stains all over it. One of the two elevators is out of service. The location is good because there are stores and places to eat within walking distance. There's a dollar store in case you forgot something. Thankfully, I will never return to this part of the country so I never have to see any of these things again. read more

Our hotel room was clean as well as the hallways and common area. We checked in via the app which was very convenient so no comments about check in. The continental breakfast was good although the bacon could have been a little crisper . The clerk was very nice when we're checking out. read more

Stayed at this hotel for a week long stay while out of town for work, not once was my room cleaned, trash taken, my towels replaced or my bed made. The room smelt so bad the first day i came in, i bought a candle to deal with the smell. Non-existent housekeeping services, smelly and unpleasant. Would never stay here by my own choice. read more

This location is extremely clean and welcoming starting from the lobby. I had a meeting here in the conference room and there was ample space. There are outlets throughout the room and counters to add your catering. There is also coffee in the lobby and working space if needed. read more

Although it es fixed, the hotel placed am unauthorized charge on a site agency account. Hello I came to book the meeting room & 6 rooms for our business trip the job is having come next month and the lady who was at the front desk 11/7/23 (African American) was so unwelcoming and rude she acted like I was bothering her, her attitude is just nasty. We arrived on Friday the 26th, 2023 and the A/C was off so the room was very hot!!! Being that the air was off, it took the room a couple of hours for it to cool. We went out, came back and went to sleep. The next day we took a shower and left the dirty towels on the floor for housekeeping to replace and leave new ones when they came to service our room. We got back to the room and housekeeping had already been there. Here is my complain: The bed was not made. The only thing that was done to the bed was the cover was pulled over but the flat sheet under the covers was not even pulled and tucked underneath. The dirty towels were not taken, nor did we at least get clean ones! Only one coffee packet was left for the machine when there were two hotel guests in the room. It was obvious that the only thing housekeeping did was empty the trash bins. Very disappointed with our stay. We are at a Hilton not a Motel Six. Honestly don't think we will stay here again. read more

One Year Later: I think they have the cleaning under control. I noticed other guests had issues with the cleanliness of the rooms. It nice to know that I wasn't crazy. My room was spotless on this visit. The wifi was much improved. I got a room on the top floor away from the street and the noise was not as bad. It was still there but nothing approaching what it's like if you stay street side. btw -They still don't do cookies. Shame on them. read more

I've stayed in dozens of Hampton Inns (hooray?) and this one managed to beat them all out for absolute worst only 2 nights into an 8 night stay. The WiFi is absolutely horrific, but if you've ever stayed at any Hilton property anywhere, you already knew that. My baseline expectation for a Hampton is a decently clean room with a functional locking door and bathroom. Not too lofty, right? So imagine my surprise when after leaving at 7 AM and returning at almost 7 PM my room was the same disaster zone I had left and the $20 tip I had left for housekeeping still sat unclaimed on the tv stand. Front desk response "I don't have any cleaning staff here anymore." Awesome. Well maybe it's about time I don't stay at Hilton properties anymore. read more

I have stayed at many Hampton inns and this is one of the less impressive ones. For starters my room was not very clean when I arrived, there was hair on the bedside table and all throughout the bathroom. There is a lack of lighting in the room, there are 3 lamps but they are so dim that the room is extremely dark. In contrast the curtains don't work well either so light shines through in the morning. Neither the curtains or lamps serve their purpose. I don't know what is wrong with the wifi system but it is TERRIBLE constantly disconnecting and making you log back in every 20 minutes and then it is still really slow. I have nothing bad to say about the staff but nothing good either. No one was very inviting or friendly like I usually experience at Hiltons, greeting you when coming and going etc. Was not a bad stay, the hotel is fine and comfortable but can definitely use some small fixes in service and functionality. read more

In Bartow for a family thing, Iv stayed here a few times and it's always clean, friendly, great breakfast.. Only a few down sides: $$$, not being able to make coffee in my room or get room service coffee, the road noise and the area activity can be loud at night, and every time you turn the TV on its automatically set on Fox News! Called at about 9 pm Carol stated 1 room left. it was a king, we booked the room. We arrived about 930 pm. Carol aploligized bathroom needed to be wiped down, asked why she stated other guest did not like the room. They were given the room we reserved. This room had to queens, not good I'M 6,4. Got to room toilet had not been flushed paper in bowl. Bathtub had ants in right corner. Had only hand lotion and bar soap for your amenities. Safety door latch mount damaged. VERY DISAPPOINTED. My husband and I came to Florida for our Sons college baseball tournament and booked at the Hampton Inn. The Hotel is very nice! The rooms are modern and VERY clean ( very important to me). There is a complementary breakfast every morning, a 24 hour fitness center and business center. The hotel is walkable to McDonald's, KFC, Dunkin' Donuts and a strip mall that has a few shops. The beds are soft and the pillows feel like air( we asked for 2 more). I'd say pack your pillow if you can. Other than that the stay was great! If ever back in the area again we'd Definitely stay here! read more

If you have the opportunity to visit the Bartow area, STAY HERE! Hotel is spotless (and I'm very fussy about cleanliness) and so very welcoming. I cannot say enough about how impressed I was, it should be a 4 star hotel. Accolades to Amy and Jeanette. They took care of us like we were family. It seemed that they must have been working 24 hour shifts the entire time we were there. I know the hotel was sold out throughout our visit, yet not once were we lacking in service during the worst hurricane to hit FL, in history. This Hampton has the rudest staff I've experienced. I travel at least a week every month and stay at Hilton/Hampton Inn exclusively. I can say that the majority of the hotels are super friendly however not in Bartow. read more

Was pleasantly surprised. We could tell the hotel was new and were extremely happy with the overall appearance. The rooms were nice sized and clean. Loved that they had extra outlets in front of dresser between the beds and even had usb plugs for easy iPhone charging. Breakfast was included and was decent. Not hot as if freshly ordered but being a buffet it definitely passed the test. read more

We travel a ton for my daughter's softball team. I am tasked with booking rooms for 12 families for every trip. I like to stay with the Hilton brand. After my last Hampton Inn experience (Clearwater Central) I was nervous to book again. Hampton Inn Bartow restored my faith in the brand. The hotel is fairly new (built in the last 2 years). It smells brand new as you enter. The rooms are meticulously cleaned and everything smells fresh. We did not have time to enjoy the pool. The hot breakfast was great and the staff easily accommodated when 40 of us showed up to eat at once. The hotel is within 5 minutes of the Bartow Softball Complex which made our stay easy and convenient. I would definitely book this hotel again for future tournaments. read more

WOW!! Running from hurricane Matthew and this was the last room anywhere to be found! We live in Cocoa Beach, so were glad to travel and find a Hampton Inn. SUPER friendly, clean and so homey. We were scared, lost, and new to florida, so this was a welcome place to land for 2 nights. Our 1st hurricane, and we had to evacuate. Surely would come back here! DON'T BRING VALUABLES WITH YOU TO THIS HOTEL!! Stayed here in March 2016. Came back to our room mid-day to change after getting caught in the rain and found our room wide open. The cleaning crew latched the dead bolt so the door wouldn't close so they didn't have to use a card key to get in the room. We were in the room almost a half an hour changing (my wife re-blow dried her hair) and no one from housekeeping ever came in. Our valuables could've been stolen, someone could've been laying in wait for us in the room. Obviously guest safety takes a back seat to the employee's convenience. But, as they say on TV, wait, there's more... We notified management who apologized and adjusted our bill. We left the hotel for 3 hours returning at 5 p.m. only to find our room wasn't touched by housekeeping. Garbage still full, no new towels. Nothing. Untouched. We're the chambermaids. Complain about US?? We'll show you. Called the front desk and - you guessed it - sorry, housekeeping is gone for the day. Would you like some fresh towels? What I'd like is a responsible inn keeper who puts their guest safety and happiness first. What a terrible end to a nice trip to Florida. Addendum: When checking out, manager further adjusted our bill and provided additional restitution in an attempt to satisfy the guests. Honest effort, well appreciated. read more

Sad my fiancé and I only stayed here for 1 night but it was SO REFRESHING to finally find a 5 star hotel that has a affordable price and free breakfast ! After staying at the pathetic Ramada for days my fiancé and I couldn't handle it anymore and chose Hampton Inn which was the best choice however I wish we stayed in the Hampton in for the week instead of Ramada. The staff was ALWAYS in the front desk 24/7 ! They always greeted us when we arrived and left . The breakfast was FREE , there was a variety of foods and ALL FRESH ! Truly a happy and healthy breakfast bar that includes eggs , muffins , cereal , bagels , apple juice , milk , ham , McMuffins , toasts , coffee , sausage , oatmeal , fruit , etc ! Smart choice is they also have a built in mini store with your needs like snacks to laundry detergent for a affordable price and of course small sizes for your convenience! They do have an amazing clean pool that is usually empty and relaxing , must try . AS FOR THE ROOMS , THEY ARE ENORMOUS and VERY VERY VERY CLEAN !!!! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A HOUSE SIMILAR TO MY ROOM . The bathroom was huge and NO DIRT IN SIGHT ! It was all white , all clean , and all perfect !!!!! I was very pleased about the decoration and simply how clean and not cold but refreshing everything was ! We also had to get a two bed which we were ok with because it was still so cheap !! Also when we had our daily room maintenance cleaning , the maid left an adorable note explaining why she couldn't clean too much because she did not want to move our personal belongings ! I kept that note and appreciated her respect and her ability to let us be aware of her attempt . She was so sweet and I wish I could have thanked her in person . I've had several great experiences at Hampton Inn hotels and the one in Bartow is no exception. We traveled in for a funeral and the staff were very kind (my MIL had told the desk clerk when she arrived and so when they recognized my husband's name they shared their condolences with us.) The room was clean and comfortable, and the hot breakfast was good - nothing mind blowing, but good food, lots of variety, fun waffle bar, and the ladies who kept the breakfast area were both super nice and really on top of things. The desk clerks always greeted us when we arrived or left, and the cleaning staff were lovely and friendly. I liked that the hotel was very close to a Wal-Mart, Walgreens and CVS, and several fast food and restaurant options. If you're coming to Bartow, this is a great place to stay. read more

Family of 4 and stayed here on a trip to Legoland. The price was right and I can not say enough nice things about the staff! At breakfast in the morning the kids mentioned we were going to Legoland so the manager prepared a little to go bag for us with bottles of water, apples and granola bars! My family and I stayed at this hotel during a 4 night stay in the area. I was a little concerned when I realized that the hotel was in a small town (according to the demographics there are less than 17,000 in Bartow), but the rates were reasonable and we were only about a 15-20 minute drive from LEGOLAND, which was the reason for our stay. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived and realized the hotel was new (less than a year old). I checked in to the hotel before arrival using the HHonors (Hilton) app. The young man who was at the front desk was very helpful in providing our room keys and offering suggestions on restaurants in the area. When we arrived at our room (4th floor, center room facing the front of the building) I was in shock at the size of the room. I travel quite a bit, but have never experienced such a large room that wasn't a suite. There is plenty of room to move around and the room was very clean upon our arrival. The continental breakfast was very good - the "make your own waffle" bar was my favorite! The food was good - nothing fancy, but definitely worth it. The only drawback that I have encountered while staying here is the clientele that seems to gather outside the hotel in the evening. We arrived back one night around 10:30 after a long day at LEGOLAND and there were several men (and women) congregating outside the front door - not sure whether they were hotel guest or locals, but it did cause a bit of concern and uncomfortableness on my part. Overall we've had a great stay and I would most likely stay here again - it's hard to find such reasonable rate for a clean, new, nice hotel! read more
