There is not much about Bartow that screams 'great stay' EXCEPT this hotel. I was on a business trip and while I'm not from the area at all, the Holiday Inn Express was damn right impressive considering Bartow is probably walking distance to cows. There really is not much to choose from. My room was a great home away from home: the desk with the leather chair, the comfy bed, the lap desk to write on (my favorite!) and even the complimentary cookies at the front desk made me fit right in. The pool was decent, although small and the bathrooms were not outside (don't forget your room key to re-enter). The staff was super sweet. The complimentary breakfast was not so great but how can anyone really gripe over free?! I wouldn't touch the eggs again but all other options were alright. FYI: Long mirror, iron with board, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner with soaps, tv view for both beds, coffee maker and microwave with fridge. Update: 2.4.13 There is a few food options nearby- Checkers, Cvs has alcohol and munchies, Fred's Southern Kitchen, Ruby Tuesday and Dominos.

Nice holiday inn hotel. Typical for a Holiday Inn and this class of hotel. Lobby area clean and renovated. My room was typical of this chain although it showed signs of wear and age. Fairly clean room but typical stains on carpet, grime in bathroom on floors in corners, shower head had scale build up. Lots of wall patch and paint repairs noticeable as paint colors for patches in room and bathroom not a great match. Could use a little updating and upgrade in rooms.

Homeless people sleeping in the hall, smelled like raw sewage.

We stayed one night, June 19 2020. All amenities were closed, they put us across the hall from a bunch of young adults who were coming and going all night long, keeping us awake and making us a little scared to leave the room. The next morning we opened the door to leave and the hallway smelled like a sewer and there were people sleeping in the halls. The girl at the front desk said it was not her fault and no one will let us make a complaint. The breakfast bags had pre-opened oatmeal in them making us throw out our breakfast. A horrible stay and the management does not care. I have photos of the people sleeping in the hallways. We took our business to the Hampton Inn and loved every minute there! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE - It is a dive!

We were given a room on the first floor directly in front of the elevator, so there was some minor noise throughout the night. However, I don't consider this a negative against the hotel because that was the room that was available, and we were only staying for one night. The location of the room naturally comes with a little more foot traffic and elevator noise. One of the things I really liked about this hotel was the convenient location. The hotel shares a lot with another hotel and several restaurants, including Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Panera Bread, and Dutch Bros Coffee. Across the street, there's a Chick-fil-A, Applebee's, and Burger King, and within less than a mile there's also a Sonic and an animal hospital. So if you're looking for a hotel where you have plenty of dining and convenience options nearby, this is definitely a plus. We didn't have the breakfast during this stay, but we did enjoy the coffee, which was, as always, consistently hot and fresh. The coffee area was clean, and I noticed staff members frequently nearby tidying up the food and coffee station and making sure everything stayed stocked, including the coffee. Overall, we had a pleasant, clean, and relaxing one-night stay. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the hotel was conveniently located, and everything we needed was close by. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The weather was a little cooler the in evening so it was very nice to have access to the clean, heated pool to swim a few laps. Exercise room was great too. Easily more equipment that most hotel gyms. The breakfast was pretty typical of Hampton Inns. WE appreciated that the fresh fruit was fresh. They served scrambled eggs, ham and a variety of baked goods as well as cereals. The coffee was good and hot and they kept it full. The hotel was probably at capacity the night we stayed but as busy as they were all the staff was nice and the whole place was kept very clean. Walking distance from Outback, Red Lobster, CFA as well as a few other places. We had a nice stay here.

We had a king room, which was nicely furnished, had lots of surface space for luggage, a desk and comfortable chair, an easy chair, and 2 ottomans. There was a floor safe inside the armoire. The bed was comfortable and there were choices of firm or soft pillows. Each of the nightstands had outlets, and there were wall-mounted sconces above the nightstands. The room and bathroom were very clean. Toiletries were Dove brand. Breakfast was better than at many similar hotels. There were more choices of hot items (for example, turkey sausage and pork sausage), and the cinnamon rolls were wonderful. The coffee was dispensed from Costa machines that are always available in the lobby, and it was actually good. Both decaf and regular coffee were available and ground freshly each time. The person taking care of the breakfast area was very diligent in keeping it clean and well stocked. There was a reasonably-priced guest laundry on the 2nd floor. Quarters are needed, and these and detergent are available in the lobby. My only complaints are that the self- closing room doors were quite loud, the bed was high (be careful getting out!), and our room was on the first floor adjacent to the pool. The lighting at the pool was on all night and impossible to completely block out with the curtains. Also, hot water supply was lacking between about 7-7:30 am both days of our stay. All in all, we had a good stay and would consider returning if in the area again.

The staff was very accommodating when I booked our reservations; we secured the block rate as well as connecting rooms with an early check-in. Despite many of these requests, the staff was helpful to fulfill my requests and with courteous disposition. There is plenty of parking on site. The hotel is central downtown, and a short drive from the heart of Lakeland. They offer complementary breakfast throughout the week. There is a store where you can buy general items throughout your stay. Everything looks newly built, and most importantly, clean. The front desk staff was very courteous and responsive during our stay. During late night hours, you cannot enter the building without a room key, so I felt safe overnight. I requested connecting rooms for my family and my parents, who were looking after our baby while we were at the wedding. Our room was a king suite, with an extra large bed, standing shower, toilet, and living room with pull-out couch. My parents' room was handicap accessible with a roll-in shower, extra large toilet area, with double beds and a pull-out couch. Both rooms were clean and spacious. The living room area was large enough to set up our pack-n-play crib for baby. The SpringHill Suites by Marriott is a clean and spacious hotel to book your stay in Lakeland. We enjoyed our stay and its central location. I recommend for your next trip to Lakeland!

The rooms are fantastic - the floor to ceiling wood louver doors are out of bounds. I had a large studio suite overlooking the pool facing west. The architect deserves an award. The roof deck has two separate bar options "gaming" or "sophisticated" lounging. Cigars welcome on the decks and they sell great brands if you forgot to plan ahead. Golf.
