I've stayed at this newer Courtyard a few times and each time has been great. New, modern and sleek design and property is very clean. Check in is always smooth. They have a nice fire pit area. This location also offers a Starbucks. I don't like that there is no free coffee other than what is in your room. They also have a full bar area and bistro for dining and drinks which is very nice. They also offer a small market with snacks and basic travel necessities. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. I love that the rooms have a refrigerator and a microwave. Legoland is right across the street so it's definitely convenient if you're visiting the park. Restaurants and limited shopping options are nearby such as TJMaxx. Overall I feel this property is a great value and offers comfortable accommodations so I will continue to return. read more

This stay was disappointing, not because things went wrong, but because of how they were handled. Positives first: Kathy at check-in was wonderful. She was kind, efficient, and accommodating, especially since I was traveling with my 72-year-old mother. Jim from maintenance was also outstanding and genuinely cared about solving problems. Unfortunately, our shower dripped nonstop for the entire stay, making it difficult to sleep. Housekeeping entered our room despite our Do Not Disturb sign being displayed. The biggest issue involved our room keys. We had THREE sets that failed. I called ahead and specifically asked the front desk to make and test new keys before we returned because I didn't want to repeatedly drag my elderly mother up and down the elevator. I was assured it would be handled. It wasn't. When we arrived, the keys had been made but not tested. I had to repeatedly advocate for a very simple request. Rather than listening, Deanna and Lilly seemed more interested in repeating scripted apologies and saying, "it was a miscommunication" than actually solving the problem. Eventually, thanks to Jim from maintenance, the issue was resolved. Technology problems happen. What disappointed me was the lack of empathy, active listening, and troubleshooting. Marriott says they "Put People First" and "Pursue Excellence." Unfortunately, that wasn't reflected in our experience. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. read more

Very nice and clean Hotel at a reasonable rate. Staff is excellent and everyone greets you and ask if they can assist in anyway. The rooms are updated and super comfortable, even the beds. Not a fan of Starbucks but it's in the lobby and makes it convenient to get a jolt in the morning. Bar area is available with food options. I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. FYI Legoland is 3 minutes away. read more

Newly remodeled, this courtyard Marriot is excellent for any family looking to visit LEGOLAND Florida. The hotel has a beautiful full with a fire pit as well as a small Market for any late night cravings. Breakfast is not included but they do offer breakfast for a reasonable price and it's truly delicious. They also have Starbucks coffee in the breakfast area. I didn't get to try the lunch menu. This Courtyard by Marriott is brand spankin' new and we loved it! Great location in Winter Haven - especially if you've got kiddos in tow...LEGOLAND is literally just down the street! Plus it's close to a lot of other cool destinations! There are quite a few good restaurants nearby, but if you feel like dining in, The Bistro is it! They offer some really nice breakfast and dinner selections and the bar is open until 10:00pm. The lounge area is equipped with a TV for viewing on either side (two chairs and a table on one, and a comfy couch and seating on the other). Can't miss a workout? Don't worry, they've got you covered...you can either do some laps in their outdoor pool or hit the weights and cardio machines in the gym (which is open 24 hours...no excuses people! ;) Rooms are spacious, clean, functional and pretty affordable...if you want a view be sure to ask for the "Water View". The hotel overlooks Lake Dexter and it's quite nice to look at...ok, what body of water isn't? While staying in the Winterhaven area on a work trip, my husband, son, and I checked in at the Courtyard Marriott around 5 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. We had been traveling all day and definitely ready to check in, and relax. To our pleasant surprise, Hope, who checked us in let us know that the property is only two years young. You could definitely tell, I've stayed in all kinds of Courtyard Marriott's, and I could tell this was one of the better ones. I really enjoyed my stay here. Parking is plentiful outside at no additional cost. They have a great lobby area that has a lot of seating and there is an open area for work and also dining. I love their booths with the TV in them. It's nice to sit down and enjoy watching the game while you're having dinner and cocktails. Our room was nice, nothing spectacular, but it did the job. The property itself is lovely, situated right on the lake. Beautiful views in the morning and at sunset. The staff is very nice. We love Jen who served us dinner one night. She was so sweet. We loved her personality! Everyone who worked there was really nice and we received great customer care the whole time we were there. It was completely at capacity, Hope told us when we checked in, so unfortunately we did not receive an upgrade on our room. There is a fitness center, pool, and laundry on site which was convenient because we needed to do laundry while we were there.The location is great as it's right on the main drag and pretty close to just about everything. Been staying here off and on for many weeks now. It's nice to see a hotel that still cleans rooms and remembers who the customers are. Since Covid other hotels quit many services but not this location. A nice refreshing stay for the weary traveler. read more

The best reason to stay here? Walking distance to Legoland, without Legoland hotel pricing. Now, when I say walking distance, I'm talking healthy adult with younger kids likely in some type of rolling transportation, because it is a solid 3/4 mile walk from door to park entrance. If you don't have an annual pass though, that saves you $25/day over Legoland parking prices. If it's middle of summer, that can of course be a long hot walk, so prepare accordingly. The hotel itself opened not too long ago as of 2019, so it's nice and clean with that new hotel smell to it. The rooms are still in great shape, not all banged up and worn out. They use per-room a/c units; i.e. the type you'd often find under a window, but these are to the side of the window as their windows are floor to ceiling. I like these types of a/c units because they're easy to clean, which hopefully means the staff keep them clean, and they make a not-too-soft / not-too-loud amount of sound, so when you're sleeping, you aren't hearing everyone in the hallway, doors slamming, etc. Ours cranked out ice cold air, and I like to sleep cold, so that was great. There is a full service bar on site, but food options are limited unfortunately; mostly typical bar food that's easy to prep, like chicken dishes, some salads with chicken as an option, etc. On the plus side, there's no resort fee. There's a small pool and outside area to hang out, along with a 'fire pit' style place to sit around in the evening. The parking lot is long and narrow, so it can be a bit of a walk if the hotel is at capacity, but there's a portico out front so you can unload easily even if it's raining, and there are carts you can use to haul your gear to your room in one trip. Staff were all nice, water was hot, housekeeping kept things nice and clean. The gym is underwhelming but gets the job done. There's a Publix (and Publix Liquors) about a block away, not as far as Legoland. If you're looking for a reasonably upscale restaurant, check out Arabellas on Central in downtown Winter Haven. Short drive from the hotel and was great. read more

I agree with other reviewers, this is a pretty updated property. It is very modern and travelling as a family, we appreciated the microwave and fridge in the room. It really could have been a little cleaner, though. My reason for the 2 stars is that from the moment we arrived the staff was not Marriott worthy. No greeting upon arrival, had to ask about the breakfast hours, where the elevator was, and what the pool hours were. I am used to all of that information being volunteered upon checkin. When I asked about the breakfast hours, the associate responded with "It's not free." What? I just wanted to know what time it ended! I would have liked to reference the associate but she didn't even have a name tag. I asked for 2 extra towels and she just nodded. I never got them so I had to come back to the desk and ask again. When I came down the next morning, a new associate was just as aloof and unfriendly. I am starting to wonder if the reviewer that said staff was friendly was because they were of the same race. I didn't encounter any staff that were friendly or went out of their way to be hospitable. Just prepare yourself if you decide to choose this hotel- don't anticipate a warm welcome. read more

Wow. Courtyard Marriotts have admittedly stepped up their game in recent years. But this particular one didn't step theirs up. They damn well reinvented it. Clean. COMFORTABLE (the beds!!!). Food that was actually TO DIE for. Ample bar, friendly staff, modern amenities. Tons of room space. What else can I ask for on a business trip? Courtyard Marriott Winter Haven nailed it. Nice clean hotel that is new and very up-to-date technologically. The rooms have some very cool features including automated check in that allows your cell phone to serve as a room key! The rooms are clean and cozy. They have a fresh smell and no aroma of cleaning supplies or other foreign scent. Bedding is fluffy and comfortable . Climate control is easy to program and also operates at a low sound level. The employees here are nice and cordial bunch. Despite the significant turnover of guests they seemed to go out of their way to remember me and greet me when I entered. The lobby restaurant/bar has normal choices of cuisine with nothing special. The "bistro burger" is a frozen patty. I have to say I get a kick out of that because bistro is defined as a French style or one that emulates a chic French appearance. Anyway, the cuisine here is meant to feed the masses and likely does. Decent variety of beer choices, too. All in all, this is a good place for a decent night of sleep and that's definitely the most important of all. read more

STAY HERE if you want sparklingly clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable bed, a nice little breakfast/dinner appetizer area in the hotel, and convenience to some pretty good restaurants. There are plenty of chain restaurants fairly close by (Outback, Olive Garden), a Starbucks just down the street, and a fabulous Mexican restaurant practically right next door. Don't waste money on a suite, unless you really need the space...the suites all face the highway, I was told (another bonus point: candid front desk clerks). We got a room overlooking the back of the property, which is a pool AND lake view. We saw an alligator This is very much the opposite of my last Winter Haven hotel experience (that particular review series on Yelp might be worth reading for comedic gold of all the one-star reviews, see: Winter Haven Gardens). We stayed there during brick or treat since the legoland hotels were too expensive at the time and we also had points. Outside of wishing they have free breakfast, we had a good time. Super close to legoland, we could see the brick or treat fireworks from the parking lot. Pool was nice and good temp. There was food and drinks for dinner and breakfast and it was good and decent price for a hotel. Will be back for sure. read more

I was looking forward to having a relaxing time at this property. Instead I was put in a room with a horrible smell (505) coming through air conditioning system. It smelled like dead insects. Also, bugs came into the room through the vent in the air conditioning system. This property is next to a lake. Oh, and good luck getting into the lobby through the front door. Many flying bugs!! Thankfully the weather became cooler one day of our trip, so the bugs died. I just wish management cared enough to at least vacuum the bugs on the welcome rug in the front. We left Legoland in a hurry because of an approaching thunderstorm. As we were driving out, the storm hit. Sheets of rain came down, the wind howled, thunder roared, and lightning flashed! Fortunately, we had a reservation at the Marriott Courtyard across the street from Legoland. Within 3 minutes we were parked at the hotel entrance under the front portico. The front desk staff was at the door looking very concerned. They beckoned us to come in and leave the van where it was. We tumbled out and ran inside. They handed us towels to dry off, and after a speedy check in, told us to go to our room to relax until the storm was over. Thankful to be safe, we didn't retrieve the van until the sky cleared. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kind hospitality. Our stay here was exceptional in every way. Needless to say, the spacious, clean, tastefully decorated rooms in a modern brand-spanking new facility, has made this hotel our new "happy place!" As annual pass holders at Legoland, we hope to return here many times. read more

The hotel was very basic. I was annoyed that I called the front desk 3 different times and no one answered. Also I had two kids with me and had planned on using the pullout couch. Sadly their was no sheet on the bed. So we all had to sleep in one bed. I had asked for extra towels via the app before we got there and that never happened. I love Marriott hotels but sometimes I think they can be ordinary, maybe even a bit generic but I was wrong to assume that this would be the same for this hotel!! We were notified ahead of time; around 11am our room was ready. This was a very pleasant perk. We decided to enjoy the local gardens at Bok Tower before checking in and they are lovely by the way. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our requests. We were pleased to see a Starbucks in the lobby and ate a delicious breakfast there. The lobby was very clean, fresh and with modern but warm decor. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a lovely view of the lake and landscaping. The room was nicely appointed and I was pleasantly surprised by chic decor. Housekeeping made sure to ask if they could get us anything, which we found thoughtful. It was a quick two night stay but refreshing to find such a lovely hotel with such a kind staff. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay at this cozy Marriott. read more
