    Bugs!

Beware! Paid $199 for 2 nights. The rooms looked good online, so we booked. On arrival the rooms did look as pictured, but our stay was terrible! When we realized the heat wasn't working inside our room, we went to the office. He informed us that none of the rooms in that part of the hotel have heat. He suggested that we reset the unit, but be careful to do it correctly or you could get zapped. Reset did not work. He said they had space heaters for the rooms with this problem, but all of them were in use at the time. We asked to switch rooms to one that had heat and he said that was not possible. My whole family, including my 2 young children froze on the first night. They put us in a room with no heat and no blankets. Just beds with a single sheet and very thin bed cover. We left the next day only to return and discover that we had been locked out of our room. Went to the office to get that fixed. When we got back into the room we found that they had finally given us a space heater so that my children didn't freeze. Thought night 2 would be better, but it only got worse. While sitting in the chair I noticed that little bugs were crawling all over the dresser. Then after looking around we saw that they were also inside the bathroom sink, the microwave, the shower walls, and the bedroom walls around our headboards. By the time we woke up we realized the power was now out, which means the space heater also does not work. A hotel room with no power! We couldn't even see enough to pack our things! Had to use our phone lights for everything. I went to the office and Rosie the office clerk tried to help us, but couldn't get the power back on. I told her that this was unacceptable and we need to fix this. She contacted the owner and he would only refund $25, was very rude, and hung up on her. This was unlike any hotel experience I've ever had! I've stayed in great hotels as well as cheap ones. This was definitely a bottom of the barrel experience. If you plan to stay, pack accordingly. Bring your own blankets, flashlights, and bug spray. You will need it. Do not bother to speak to the owner about anything because all he is interested in is your money. Unbelievable that rooms with no heat and a bug infestation are even being rented out! I have never left a negative review before, but there is a first time for everything. The only plus side to this place is there is a very nice little restaurant called Mike's grill on the same property, but owned by different people. The food was GREAT and the staff was AMAZING!

This Place sucks, it's a bed and cold air. BUT, i had roaches and the sweet lady at the front desk was nice enough to move me even though the owner instructs them not to move the customer. I had to threaten to leave to get moved to 214 which is a decent room. Cold air and no bugs. If u need a cheap place and this is the only option i would ask the girls for the 214 building.

    Trash under nightstand

This Place is absolutely disgusting. Saw 2 roaches within first minute of walking in room. Moved night stand to plug in charger and saw this... don't stay here if you can heLp it

    Bed bug 1

Booked a 3-night stay. Price is competitive and more surprises: free companion with many many many bedbugs, I am able to catch some of them, definitely been there for a long time telling from the poops around them. Talked to the owner, and he refused to change a room for me said it is their policy, but did offer a refund for the price I paid. He will not pay for anything else except a 2 dollar to use their dryer. And I can't stay for the rest of the booking because I am refunded and the room needs to be cleaned the next morning. He suggested to me to look for another place to stay. He must hate his competitors very much. I suggest anyone who book this hotel think twice as this is the first time I got bitten by bedbugs in travel for the last 30 years.

We were given a room on the first floor directly in front of the elevator, so there was some minor noise throughout the night. However, I don't consider this a negative against the hotel because that was the room that was available, and we were only staying for one night. The location of the room naturally comes with a little more foot traffic and elevator noise. One of the things I really liked about this hotel was the convenient location. The hotel shares a lot with another hotel and several restaurants, including Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Panera Bread, and Dutch Bros Coffee. Across the street, there's a Chick-fil-A, Applebee's, and Burger King, and within less than a mile there's also a Sonic and an animal hospital. So if you're looking for a hotel where you have plenty of dining and convenience options nearby, this is definitely a plus. We didn't have the breakfast during this stay, but we did enjoy the coffee, which was, as always, consistently hot and fresh. The coffee area was clean, and I noticed staff members frequently nearby tidying up the food and coffee station and making sure everything stayed stocked, including the coffee. Overall, we had a pleasant, clean, and relaxing one-night stay. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the hotel was conveniently located, and everything we needed was close by. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The weather was a little cooler the in evening so it was very nice to have access to the clean, heated pool to swim a few laps. Exercise room was great too. Easily more equipment that most hotel gyms. The breakfast was pretty typical of Hampton Inns. WE appreciated that the fresh fruit was fresh. They served scrambled eggs, ham and a variety of baked goods as well as cereals. The coffee was good and hot and they kept it full. The hotel was probably at capacity the night we stayed but as busy as they were all the staff was nice and the whole place was kept very clean. Walking distance from Outback, Red Lobster, CFA as well as a few other places. We had a nice stay here.

We had a king room, which was nicely furnished, had lots of surface space for luggage, a desk and comfortable chair, an easy chair, and 2 ottomans. There was a floor safe inside the armoire. The bed was comfortable and there were choices of firm or soft pillows. Each of the nightstands had outlets, and there were wall-mounted sconces above the nightstands. The room and bathroom were very clean. Toiletries were Dove brand. Breakfast was better than at many similar hotels. There were more choices of hot items (for example, turkey sausage and pork sausage), and the cinnamon rolls were wonderful. The coffee was dispensed from Costa machines that are always available in the lobby, and it was actually good. Both decaf and regular coffee were available and ground freshly each time. The person taking care of the breakfast area was very diligent in keeping it clean and well stocked. There was a reasonably-priced guest laundry on the 2nd floor. Quarters are needed, and these and detergent are available in the lobby. My only complaints are that the self- closing room doors were quite loud, the bed was high (be careful getting out!), and our room was on the first floor adjacent to the pool. The lighting at the pool was on all night and impossible to completely block out with the curtains. Also, hot water supply was lacking between about 7-7:30 am both days of our stay. All in all, we had a good stay and would consider returning if in the area again.

The staff was very accommodating when I booked our reservations; we secured the block rate as well as connecting rooms with an early check-in. The hotel is central downtown, and a short drive from the heart of Lakeland. They offer complementary breakfast throughout the week. There is a store where you can buy general items throughout your stay. Everything looks newly built, and most importantly, clean. The front desk staff was very courteous and responsive during our stay. During late night hours, you cannot enter the building without a room key, so I felt safe overnight. I requested connecting rooms for my family and my parents, who were looking after our baby while we were at the wedding. Our room was a king suite, with an extra large bed, standing shower, toilet, and living room with pull-out couch. My parents' room was handicap accessible with a roll-in shower, extra large toilet area, with double beds and a pull-out couch. Both rooms were clean and spacious. The living room area was large enough to set up our pack-n-play crib for baby. The SpringHill Suites by Marriott is a clean and spacious hotel to book your stay in Lakeland. We enjoyed our stay and its central location. I recommend for your next trip to Lakeland!

The rooms are fantastic - the floor to ceiling wood louver doors are out of bounds. I had a large studio suite overlooking the pool facing west. The architect deserves an award.
