I don't usually write reviews, but this team deserves every bit of recognition I can give. In early April, my mother passed away unexpectedly. My husband and I booked a last-minute flight from Los Angeles. During my layover, I reserved a week's stay at the Hampton Inn in Johnson City online. We arrived late that evening, emotionally and physically drained. From the very first moment, the staff was extraordinary. The front desk agent was warm and empathetic, extended my reservation when availability was short, informed me I'd accidentally booked third-party, and made sure I received the bereavement rate. Our room was clean and ready. Breakfast was wonderful. Every staff member responded with kindness and care. What truly set this team apart: when I hesitantly asked if we could host a small post funeral reception in the hotel lobby, the answer was an immediate yes. I fully expected to be told no. The staff, led by manager Caitie Eberz, assured me the space was available and even offered to keep the coffee fresh. The staff stepped up to help in many areas: they stored our food platters without hesitation, placed a family member who flew in from the West Coast in the room directly across the hall from mine, helped me print my eulogy at 1 a.m. when I couldn't figure out the printer through my exhaustion, and after the reception, simply took the cleanup from my hands when I asked where the dumpster was. Every gesture made an enormous difference during this difficult time. My mother's death was unexpected, and while that week was filled with uncertainty and grief, the Hampton Inn team provided something I desperately needed: a sense of home and stability. That means that they have not opened the fridge for cleaning. What else was not done in the room? No towels at all. They lured me in the hotel with free charging, covered the free tesla charger with a bag and refused to turn them on. They pointed me to the charger behind the hotel for $.70 cents per kWh. That would cost me $70 for the night which is a ripoff. The hotel has a contract with the rip-off company and might get a klick back. Avoid this hotel. False advertising and no service. read more

For a great hotel, this Hampton Inn has it. We booked this hotel for a conference we attended in the area and the procedure for checking in was no issue. I found the location to be in a unique spot, although, it appears to fit well because it's not too close to the busy road which causes no disturbance, and also, right behind Wegmans! The service provided here was no issue for our stay, which is a big plus. The room we got was a decent size, with enough room to fit everything and all of us. It was pretty easy to locate where things were. Something that was a bit of a turn-off for me was, and I'm sure most hotels are like this, the shower containing a curtain. Water drips out onto the floor, making it wet which makes it time-consuming to dry off. It would be awesome to see something addressed about it. Overall, no issues in our room besides that. Breakfast was accommodated well with enough variety to choose from, and enough room to fit people while eating in the room. The food and drinks they had all tasted great and did a wonderful job refilling them when needed. For great service and work, I approve of it and will reserve this hotel again in the future. read more

Hidden behind Wegmans just off 86. Friendly staff at check in. Unfortunately we had a few " hiccups" during our stay. First we reserved a King bed and we're given a smaller bed ( looked like a full size) The front desk tried to say we were given a " upgrade" to a bigger room ( we weren't buying that as it was not) I insisted we have a King so after 20 minutes we were given a King room down the hall. Ironically the same size room as our " upgrade " with the small bed!! Second problem toilet ran. Last issue was breakfast. No one assigned to take care of food area like most Hamptons. The front desk girl refilled the coffee when we were there but most of the food was gone ( eggs, bread, etc) Very limited breakfast. No yogurt or fresh fruit. Definitely a disappointing Hampton but we were traveling through so it was just 1 night. read more

3.5 stars I stayed here for a few weeks for work, which is probably longer than anyone should ever stay at a Hampton Inn. Service was great, but the hotel itself had a few annoyances. The biggest problem was the air conditioning, which was always either freezing cold, or turned to heating when I put it about 75 degrees. This was in summer when it was usually over 90 degrees during the day. The rooms were extremely dark, even on bright, sunny days with the shades up and all the lights on. The ground floor rooms are terrible for privacy. Unless you use the blackout curtains, anyone parking their car or walking on the sidewalk will be at eye level of your room and can see exactly what you're doing. The windows only open a few inches, but on the ground floor, I couldn't open them, because the outside hadn't been cleaned in such a long time, that there were disgusting cobwebs and bugs just in that few-inch gap. Breakfast had enough options that it was acceptable. It's disappointing that the hotel doesn't recycle, because they use SO many disposable products. This includes the usual hotel things like the little shampoo bottles, but also, all the breakfast dishes and cutlery, and the little cups in each room. I'm not used to being this wasteful/bad for the environment. Would it kill them to use some real dishes? On the plus side, the shower was good, and toiletries were fine. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms were a good size. Without a doubt, the best thing about this hotel is that everyone working there was very nice and helpful. After going to other (more expensive) hotels over the summer, I always looked forward to going back to the this Hapmton Inn, because the people were so darn nice. read more

First we get in the room and it smells like someone was smoking crack in the room. Then I go shower and there is pubs in the shower! The ceiling has water damage. The pillows have no cases. We asked for towels because there is 3 of us and they told us there aren't any extra towels. Shame on you if other hotels nearby weren't booked I would've left. I only came for a nights stay and will never come again. read more

Hotel was up to Hampton Inn standards. Employees were very helpful and friendly. room was clean and updated. Nice quiet and restful sleep. Free internet and parking. We actually took a dip in the pool. Very clean and they even had a few pool toys. That's a nice touch for the kids. Breakfast was delicious. Eggs, sausage, friut, waffles, cereal, etc. Anything you pretty much could get at a restaurant. We will be back! read more

Diamond member here for Hampton and haven't had this shabby a room in a long time. Bathroom wasn't clean. Toilet paper roll had two sheets left on it. Fortunately they left a spare roll. Also had a plunger next to the toilet with toilet paper on it. The mirror over the sink wasn't clean. When I took my shower in the morning the water backed up in the tub. A ring of dead skin cells accumulated around the edge. Obviously they aren't cleaning the tub between customers very well. Opened the closet and was greeted by the iron corn hanging to the floor. The dresser under the TV had hairs on it much longer then mine. Breakfast wasn't any better. At 7 am the oatmeal in the pot was half water. The eggs looked like the powder the were likely made from all diced up in little pieces. This is also a wooden structure so you will hear footsteps. They can't change it but just GE aware. Construction is underway. I got the last parking place in the lot and because of rain in the morning it was flooded. I had to jump the moat to get in my I spoke with management and they comped the room. I'll stay at Hampton but not this one. read more

This place is awful. Dated, old and dirty. Mattresses are awful, they sink literally 6" down when you sit on them. No fridge or microwave like most Hamptons. This is NOT a typical Hampton and is a disgrace to the Hampton Brand. Non-smoking rooms smell like smoke. Beware for allergy sufferers. RUN AWAY from this hotel and go elsewhere. Plus the surrounding area is either the freeway or the back of Wegmans grocery store or a self-storage facility. Hallways are updated with new carpet, but rooms are not. read more

Our 2 night stay, went by too fast! We were in the area for a wedding vow renewal, and picked this Hampton Inn for the queen beds. The beds were extra comfie! The room was very clean, and best of all: the staff was so helpful. We had lots of questions, that they patiently answered! This usually good hotel is under construction and is a train wreck. Elevator makes a loud bang, which they say is ok. Stay away for now.

I have stayed in a number of Hampton Inns, as they can usually be found whenever needed on a road trip, usually have vacancies for walk-ins, and are usually comfortable and clean. This particular hotel was clearly not as new in some of Hampton's properties, and it showed, mostly in the bathroom fixtures, as well as the elevator. Wear typical of an older room aside, the room was perfectly fine. When checking in, I noticed a call sheet on the front desk, showing that day's rates and occupancies for all of the near-by hotels, and this Hampton was the cheapest. Also a bit odd was the hotel's placement - it is directly between a self-storage facility and a grocery store. The room was sufficient for one night between stops on the highway, but there are other places in Binghamton that are nicer, and only about $10 more a night. read more

The beds suck. Haven't had such an uncomfortable bed in a hotel in years. Was curious if all the beds were the same and was told they had only replaced the older beds on the 1st floor and the 2nd and 3rd floor beds would not be replaced until the next year or more. Also, I always try to stay far away from the elevators, but got a room 2 doors down this time. Heard the ding of the elevator all night long. Very irritating. Finally, only Hampton Inn I have ever visited that didn't have cookies. Was told they only serve cookies Sunday thru Thursday. As others have mentioned, there are no vending machines, nor cookies, so bring some snacks with you if you might wanna bite. I would look for another place to stay if I ever was in this area again. read more

I just had a great stay at this hotel with an awesome price from Priceline.com. This is not a very fancy hotel, but everything was very clean, comfortable and as I would hope. I was very pleased with the cleanliness, bed comfort, noise level and staff courtesy. I did not take advantage of the pool or fitness center, but liked that those options were available. Free parking was convenient, and the breakfast was much better than at a lot of hotels. It was hot, plentiful and pretty hearty. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I asked about a room fridge, and the staff actually brought one to my room for the night! Caitie was the attendant who helped me with this-- she was very nice, and even helped me and my boyfriend with two toiletries we forgot: she gave us complimentary travel size toothpaste and deodorant! I was also impressed to see another employee (whose name I did not catch) help an elderly guest at breakfast. The employee patiently and compassionately offered this guest a hand taking her breakfast to her seat and even helped her sit down. Good people! All in all, I give this hotel five stars because it was just what I needed: a clean, quiet, comfortable place conveniently located on my route from Rochester to New Jersey. It was not the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed at, but certainly a dependable, nice one. read more

This is my first time staying in a Hampton Inn, when we are in town we usually stay in Courtyard or Faifield Inn, compare all together, I will now stay in this hotel because it is much cleaner and comfortable compare to the other two. I admit the location is bit od, but once you step in to the lobby it is whole other world, the staff are super friendly and the room is very clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The rate is very good too. From now on we will stay here when we are in town for business. read more

We checked in on MMonday August 14, 2017. Getting into the parking lot can be a bit tricky, especially if arriving in the dark. It was definitely the smallest and maybe the oldest Hampton that I've stayed in. The room was clean. The young man working the desk was working alone. He was very helpful and hard working. It is located right next door to a Wegmans plaza, which is great especially if it's late on a weekday and you're hungry. Most everything was closed by 10pm, so we opted to get food at Wegmans. The hotel was located approximately 12- 15 miles from Animal Adventure Park. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The breakfast staff was willing to restock anything that was depleted, promptly. All in all, this hotel could use some updating but still alright and the staff if very helpful and friendly. read more

Usually like the convenience of Hampton Inns and most have had a face lift which this one desperately needs. The shower rod was coming out of the wall! The location is odd...have to get there in a very round about way. If you don't have GPS you'd never find the front door. But they were on top of the trays and kept everything fresh. They even came by and gave my 5 year old crayons and a coloring mat. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS We we looking for a hotel to stay at during our drive from Vermont to Virginia. My husband wanted something close to the highway and we have always had great luck at Hampton Inns for an inexpensive place to stay (I have review another HI). We were wrong. This place was terrible. We checked in late, about 10.30pm and went right to our connecting rooms. A very noticeable stain was on the floor of our kids room. We were all tired and bleary eyed, so we just told the kids to avoid that spot. That should have been the first hint that this place was a pit. That and the incredibly outdated furniture I was laying in bed and thought I saw something whizz by my head but I shook it off and assumed it was fatigue. The next morning, I found out that there were BUGS in the room. Gnats, mosquitoes and another flying type bug I couldn't identify. Not one or two but many. This was discovered after the breakfast debacle. Breakfast. I have seen gas station bathrooms that were cleaner than this eating area. The floors were wet in some places and sticky in other spots. The counter was grungy and about as clean as the floor. They had green bananas and green oranges. I am talking seriously unripe-make-you-sick-fruit, not slightly under ripe. I found that amazing since the parking lot backs up to a Wegman's. They were out of waffle batter, bagels, eggs, french toast sticks and coffee. NO COFFEE. NO COFFEE. Seriously? Not a single employee was in sight. Not even the front desk person. The breakfast area was packed at 8.30am. One woman after discovering the lack of coffee decided to search for an employee. Apparently, the person in charge thought it was a great time for a team meeting. When they started bring food out, it was 12 french sticks at a time. There were also three overflowing trash cans. I wouldn't let my children eat anything. On the way to the elevator, I let the front person know all the things wrong (I wasn't rude but I was brisk in my tone) and all she did was look at me. Not a single word left her lips. She turned around and went to the meeting/breakfast prep room. Went back to the room to pack and check out. That is when we discovered the bugs. I called Hilton HHonors (corporate) to complain. The incredibly nice person told me to take pictures, especially of the breakfast area, which I did of the rooms and bugs. I had to take a shower. The bathroom floor was tacky when I got out. I almost started to cry. My husband shoved all of our stuff on a cart and told us to get in the car, even thought I still had wet hair. No pictures of the breakfast area. We had to get out of there. When I stopped off at the front desk and I stated that we were checking out, the front desk person literally did not speak one work. Nothing. I have never stayed in a place that was so neglected and lacked customer service. I have been in hotels that were old, others in the middle of renovations, and mom-and-pop motels the middle of no where that weren't fancy and lacked a tv but nothing like this. DON'T STAY HERE. Sleep in your car. Then you don't have to worry about the bugs. read more

The place looks like it might have gotten a face lift a few years ago, but it could use an actual renovation. Walls and floors are paper thin. I can hear kids crying/screaming in the next room. I can hear thumping from the ceiling from the people upstairs walking to the bathroom to take a leak (I can hear that, too). I had to leave my television on all night to drown out all the other noises; white noise. Our room had no fridge and microwave! But we asked for them and it was delivered, so... thumbs up for that. The WiFi speed was... so sloooow. It took forever for a webpage to load. Breakfast is pretty standard with the waffle machine, coffee, bagel, muffins, fruit, egg omelettes and... sliced hot dogs? I guess its a substitute for sausage or bacon. I've stayed at many Hampton Inn's before. This one would be the "worst" of them, which is why I rated the way I did because I hold a certain standard for Hampton Inn's. But, honestly, I've stayed in other hotels that were much, much worse off. By the way, I did like having Wegman's located walking distance from the hotel. I love Wegman's sub sandwiches. Otherwise, it's fast food or driving in circles to find a good restaurant. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have stayed in many holiday Inns before and never had an issue. This one was the worst I've been in however not awful. The breakfast was very disappointing. There's not much variety at all and the service wasn't great. It is a buffet, but I accidentally dropped the thong on the ground and wanted to ask the worker to clean it however there was nobody there. The next morning when I returned the thong was broken. The pancake machine runs out of batter a lot. Swimming pool and workout area is a bit small but functional. There is no recycling. This was a little troubling especially because the breakfast is all plastic utensils and cups. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. However, there were no rolling beds due to fire hazard. read more

This location was/is the least customer friendly location we have ever dealt with in the Hilton family of hotels. We have ALWAYS had a pleasant experience with our stays and reservations. I understand that there are rules as to when you can and cannot cancel a reservation, but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances in peoples lives. Unfortunately we have experiences such circumstances and tried to call to cancel our stay. The management was and is not being helpful with the situation. We will unfortunately never stay at this location (although it's in the direct route of a regular trip location) as a result of this. Also when we've depleted our Hilton points, we will probably no longer stay at any Hilton hotel. One rotten apple truly can ruin the entire bunch. read more

I am extremely disappointed that Hampton would allow their company name to be associated with this location. The General Manager and Front Desk manager, Caitie were extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. While getting coffee in the lobby I overheard the front staff gossiping and talking meanly about another staff member. They sounded like a bunch of mean girls in the hallway at a high school. Additionally, upon checking out I forgot to grab my BRAND NEW shampoo and conditioner (expensive), and immediately called when I got home. I was told someone would call me back. No one called. I called again and was told it wasn't on the cart, but maybe it was in the safe; however, I would need to call back Monday to ask. The gentleman reassured me that they have a policy to turn in all found items and hold for at least 30 days. I called on Monday and was told someone would call me back. No one called. I called again and was told nothing was turned in and someone probably threw it away. I asked if they were going to check with the housekeeping and what would be done since it wasn't turned in. She said nothing, because they don't have a policy to turn in hair care items. I called corporate and Hilton advised that they have a policy to turn in these items, but this location is independently owned, so they can't say if they do or don't. An investigation was opened. Again no one called me back. I called again and was transferred to the hotel. I left a message, and would you believe it if I told you no one called me back? Very disappointing Hampton, I'd expect better. read more

I wouldn't stay here again. It was clean and the pool was nice. However, for the price, we were very disappointed. No refrigerator. No microwave. No restaurant and no way to purchase snacks without going to local grocery. Only vending machine was for drinks. Worst part was the noise. Walls and ceiling very thin. Noisy neighbors equal zero rest at this hotel. We called the front desk but there was no change. They allowed excessive noise til at least 2:00 am. We shortened our stay and chose to go to a different hotel. read more
