By mistake I booked two queen beds rather than a king size bed. The friendly ladies at the check in desk were super helpful and friendly. They were able to move rooms around and got us into a king bed for the night. They also offered a couple of complimentary bottles of water. I love that our Bon Voy rewards get us water at most establishments. The room was clean, we struggled getting it cool enough at night. The AC seemed to be maxed out. They offer a complimentary breakfast, with a decent variety. Overall this was a nice hotel, friendly staff make it worth staying! read more

After a trip to the Finger Lakes we decided to make a stop on the way back, go to Remliks for dinner and get a fresh start for the next day. We have stayed here a few times as a stop over and never had a bad experience. It's extremely easy access from the parkway. The staff here is extremely helpful and friendly. It was a quick check-in and we were off to our room. It's a nice size clean room with plenty of lighting and outlets for charging phones, computers, etc... There was also a very nice working area. It's always a plus to have a coffee maker and microwave oven too. It has a large clean bathroom and great shower. A very comfortable bed and pillows made for a nice sleep. Morning breakfast was very complete with oatmeal, waffles, eggs, yogurt, etc... There was one woman working keeping everything filled as it was extremely busy on Sunday morning. My only gripe (and this was not with the wonderful hotel staff) is that people would park their cars in the EV & Tesla charging area overnight. REALLY, if you own an electric car charge it and move it!!! The spot does not have your name on it. Please be cognizant of the other Electric / Hybrid owners. It's not a Tesla spot... it's a Tesla / EV charging area for everyone!!! Clearly I was not the only person who complained about this! We booked a room for 2/17, with doubke queen beds. I was pleased and very surprised when i arrived to my room and i had a brand new room, with that smell of brand new car..lol We checked in at 3:45pm, had a room on the 2nd floor, new carpets, fresh new beds and a fully refreshed bathroom. Very confortable, convenient as we have Cracker Barrel restaurant right next door and we receive 10% off the bill with our room key. We had breakfast upon checking out on Saturday at about 9am, the room was not crowded. I love that they have the waffle maker for the belgian waffles, fresh scrambled eggs. Sadly no bacon, instead they have a chicken or turkey sausage patty. We wanted to drink tea but the hot water thermos were not washed properly and when i went for hot water, coffee grains were being pumped out of the hot water thermo and the water was not very hot, which was also disappointing. read more

They did go through a complete overhaul, and I wanted anyone looking at reviews to know all of the rooms are brand new All of the construction has been completed, as you see in some of the reviews, it does have that new hotel smell! The staff is incredible! I wanted to make sure that this hotel has the proper rating that it deserves! this hotel is amazing for the value! We traveled as part of a sports team and selected this hotel for its convenient location & for the amenities it boasts. Some families opted to stay 1 night & some stayed 2 so that they could utilize the pool. How disappointed we were to learn (on our own with bathing suits on ready to swim), the pool was out of order. At no time was this relayed ahead of check in or upon checking in. Please let me stress that the front desk staff had numerous chances to divulge this. Nothing was said. There were 4 families making up 4 rooms that stayed a second night. We inquired about a conference room to use in lieu of the pool so that we at least at a common space to convene. We were denied and told that there is no conference room on premises. At approximately 4:00 pm on Saturday, the hotel employees that I believe were covering the front desk (which was almost always unattended any time I walked by) set out on their mission to harass the 4 families. It started out with a male employee coming up at various times on the elevator:stairs and walking by, staring and saying nothing. Finally he said that the boys couldn't be in the hallway. That was ok and the kids retreated to one room. This was not sufficient for the female employee on duty who proceeded to kick 4 adults conversing quietly out of the hallway. She claimed there had been a complaint but revealed herself to be dishonest by admitting she'd just been watching us all on camera. Watching us chatting? Odd. She then tried to insist that we all MUST close the doors to our rooms. This is such odd behavior but not as odd as hiding out in the linen closet down the hall trying to...well I don't know what she was trying to do with that one. Later, she opted to call one of the families' rooms to continue her campaign of harassment & false claims of complaints. We've always had pleasant Marriott experiences but I would never recommend this location to anyone. Very unprofessional front desk employees. It should also be noted that they smelled very strongly of marijuana which explains why the front desk was so often left unattended. read more

This hotel has a very odd driveway and you may pass it before you realize it. But once in the parking is easy and well lit. Checkin is super easy. The rooms are clean and freash. They come with a fridge and micro. Fantastic tv channel listing. Wish all hotels did it as nicely. They are one of those places that have a breakfast spread starting at 6 am. It was large and spacious. Tons of seating. Waffles to yogurt to fruit and cereal. Their oatmeal will be greatly improved if they add some salt to the boiling water. 3 stars for this large chain. This property was Absolutely filthy, which is unusual for Marriot properties - even the low end ones. The comforters clearly had not been cleaned in quite some time (see photos of stains) and i doubt the sheets had either. I mean come on, we're just coming out of a pandemic. We attempted to get in but it was so cold only 1 of us got in and only for a few minutes. Extremely disappointing when this was your main reason for booking at this hotel . Also, and this is minor there was a fairly large tear in our curtain. Not that this is major but when you are paying over $200 for 1 night you kind of expect more . JMO read more

I'm a Marriott rewards member, and prefer staying at Marriott brand hotels; however, I will never stay at the Fairfield Inn, Binghamton, NY again. I travel quite a bit for work and expect my room to be clean. On this particular occasion, I was traveling to visit family. As soon as my daughter and I entered our room, she made the comment that our room smelled like a well-used sneaker - which was very accurate. The carpet was in need of a very deep vacuuming and several of the white towels had yellow stains. The bathroom floor had a lot of hair, none of which were ours. Speaking of the bathroom, it had a very unusual shape which required you to walk all the into the bathroom and stand on the side of the toilet in order to shit the bathroom door. We arrived and had chosen self check in. Electronic key by app. We were stunned and did not unpack. The room was not clean. Also the last two Marriott properties we stayed at had a sealed strip on the door the bathrooms looked sparkling and smelled fresh etc. nothing like that here. The bathtub was dirty. The manager came up agreed it was dirty and moved us to another room. Her attitude made it seem like it was a chore. No insight at all from the front desk for a restaurant recommendation. First time staying at this hotel, and we enjoyed it. It was clean, spacious, bright. The breakfast was very good and had lots of quality fresh fruit offered (i.e. strawberries, watermelon, grapes) which is something you don't see in other hotels. My fruitarian kids loved this aspect. One thing to note is that there is quite a lot of traffic noise since it's located right off the highway, but we always put white noise on, so it ended up not being very noticeable. We'll definitely consider staying here again next time we're passing through. read more

This hotel deserves all the stars. The woman that helped us with check in, Kristen I believe was unbelievably sweet. Modern, updated decor throughout the hotel and very clean common areas and rooms. Of all the hotels I've stayed at this one wins for best designed in-room workspace, complete with a truly comfortable office chair - bi level desk, with easy to access outlets up top and an work lamp. The beds were comfortable, and the shower fantastic - steamed up immediately. The breakfast included plain sugar free yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and hot items (eggs, ham etc), nicely presented and fresh. The coffee was fresh and tasty and they had a good tea selection along with cookies throughout the day. My best stay in Binghamton to date and I highly recommend it when visiting the area. read more

This is the low end of the Marriott spectrum, I think, but still quite good. The towels are not plush, the tv is not flat-screen, and the furnishings are plain, so it's not fancy, but it has what you need. It is conveniently located, just off Rt. 81. There are various modest restaurants right up the road. You do hear some traffic noise, but I didn't find it too bad in my room, and I'm used to quiet. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious and the staff is friendly. There is breakfast included, and it is self-serve. The selection is adequate, but not fancy. The space off the lobby to get your food and to sit and eat is is somewhat cramped. I've had far worse. There is free coffee in vacuum pots in the lobby, a nice touch, and it's fairly good coffee. There is a small indoor pool, and washing machine and dryer, for $1.50. If you ask at the front desk, they will give you free detergent and dryer sheets with a smile- nice. There is free wi-fi in the lobby and free wired internet access in the rooms. Yay! Amazing that inexpensive hotels/motels throw this in, while fancier, far more expensive places hit you for another $10-15! I would definitely stay here again. read more

Since I am a Marriott member this is the only Marriott hotel chain in the area and the experience staying here is not bad. They still got the old FF look if you know what I mean, most of the FF I stayed over the past year and now were all upgraded to the new look but this one still stays the same. Staff were very friendly and the rooms are clean. Location is not bad with a applebee and Cracker barrel next door. I hope they will remodel in the near future. One morning I had the "do not disturb" tag on the door as I went to use the exercise room. Upon my return after working out, there was a tag on the floor by the entrance to my room from the maid saying "I will come back later", so I removed the "do not disturb" tag and hung it on the door INSIDE my hotel room. When I came back later that evening, the "do not disturb" tag was mysteriously hanging back on the hallway side. I entered my room to find that our beds were NOT made, no new towels and we were nearly out of toilet paper. It is obvious that the maid came back later that day, entered the room and took the tag from the inside and put back on the hallway side for me to think that I must have forgotten to remove it. I went downstairs to speak to someone about this incident and the only solution was to just give me new towels and send me on my way. I was part of a group and 2 other rooms from our group were not cleaned either. We all stayed on the same floor. When I returned home, I was checking my Discover card account online and noticed that I was charged TWICE for my 3 night stay totaling $1,090!!! The first charge on July 11 was $470 and the second charge was $620 - FOR A 3 NIGHT STAY! I immediately called the hotel and they told me that is was the fault of Discover Card saying "they sometimes double charge, but they "should" fix it later". My next call was to Discover Card and they told me that they are NEVER allowed to double charge in ANY circumstance. Discover advised me to wait 10 days and if it has not been corrected, we will open a dispute against Fairfield Marriott Binghamton. The last thing that I would like to mention is one afternoon while my sister was walking through the lobby, she decided to stop for a cookie. She was immediately sickened when there were numerous flies on the cookies. Shouldn't they have a plastic cover over them???? My husband is frequent guest at Fairfield Marriott, but the issues listed above may change that. read more

A very unfortunate experience. It seems like this place needs some serious work. The elevators were broken, the television did not work, lamps wouldn't turn on and the shower wouldn't get hot. When we complained it seemed like they were aware of many of the rooms issues before we checked in and even told us they knew that television has had some problems. Honestly I would have just put up with all of this if the room was clean however there was a strong smell around the room and the beds were not well made. Beds are also very small much smaller than the average queen size bed. Could not believe this was a Marriott would not stay here again. read more

The beds are comfortable, the hotel is quiet, it has a nice indoor pool, the staff was friendly, and the free breakfast is excellent. It's a great place to get some R&R! When traveling I usually choose Hilton, but I had a coupon and ended up here. I walked in and was told they do not accept the coupon even though it did not have blackout dates and specifically said it was good everyday until Oct 15. Okay, so I paid full price. First, I was glad they stopped using that horrid room deodorizer that made me stop using Mariott's years ago. The desk clerk Lauren was very nice, even though I called 2x before to ask about the coupon and their 800 number told me no problem. Got in the room, ordered my food, and put on PJs. I went to get tissues and there was ONE tissue in the box. As a disabled person, getting redressed is not really a simple option. So I pick up the phone and find there's no Front Desk button. What??? I had to call the hotel by tracking down their number. For a $190 a night, that's pretty terrible service. Called Lauren and asked for tissues. She was nice and said when she can. 2 hours later still no tissues. I called back (the long way again) and found she was the ONLY one here!! What kind of huge hotel with at least 5 floors or more only has one person holding it all down. You would think for $190 times hundreds of rooms they'd put more than one person on duty. Cheapness at the corporate level. Lauren was a sweetie and brought them to me. Housekeeping was horrible to leave a box with one tissue. Corporate should take a clue from The Hilton hotels on how to run a decent hotel at those prices. The bed had clean sheets but the mattress should have been replaced 5 years ago. It sunk into the middle like it was 15 years old. I found a pubic hair on the commode seat, and the stopper in the shower wouldn't unstop so I had to cut my shower short as the tub was filling up. Too bad. Traveling for me means plenty of hotel stays. This one is back on my Do Not Go list. ETA: I added an extra star because upon checkout Keven, the GM, gave me a few dollars off my room so the total was slightly over $140. Although the pubic hair issue still bothers me since that is definitely a health hazard. I would have taken a picture and uploaded it, but after traveling for hours I just cleaned it myself with soap and needed to use it. read more

Fairfield Inn Marriott in Binghamton, NJ is 5 minutes off of Hwy 81. Quick and easy to get to! Check in/out was fast. There are 2 restaurants right next door to the hotel. And, if you show your room key to Appleby's which is right next door to the hotel you'll get 10% off your check. Pretty great! The room was big & spacious. Very quiet. Comfy king size bed and pillows. Parking lot was safe and secure. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Fairfield is a direct competitor to Hilton's Hampton Inn. So, got what was expected: easy on and off from the Interstate, corporate decor and a continental cookie cutter corporate breakfast. Chains proliferate in the area with Cracker Barrel right next door. Still the room was clean and comfortable and the climate control worked. This stay was nothing short of amazing. It was hospitality at its best! We stayed here on our way to buffalo. The desk manager at night was very nice even though we didn't check in till 10:30pm. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. Nikki the manager treated us at breakfast. She was so pleasant and made us feel welcome. She even acknowledged my children and talked to them. Then we went upstairs and ghe kids got changed to go in the pool. When we got downstairs they had temporarily closed it. We started to walk back upstairs. Nikki saw us and said let me check if we can open the pool. I said it is not a big deal and her reply was that it was a big deal to them. She said let me see what I can do. She had them reopen the pool for us. I just thought she had gone above and beyond. When we left, she gave my sons both chips for the long car ride. We also had a few encounters with Kathy, another employee with you. My 9 yr old son actually thought she was so nice and personable that he remembered her name also. I was so happy we booked this hotel for our trip home from buffalo. To many those are not big things but to me the little things are the big things. read more
