We came to Cumming Georgia to visit a friend. We decided to get a room at the Hampton Inn while we were there. The location is in a very bustling area. There's a lot of restaurants, gas stations, and stores in this space. The city was decorated for the holidays and it was very charming when we got to the Hampton Inn. The front desk clerk, Jeffry, was very welcoming and inviting. He was very kind and provided a lot of information and it was like meeting up with an old friend. He truly went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Our room is on the second floor. The rooms are well appointed. very stylish with their furniture. We found it very accommodating and very comfortable. We got a great night of sleep and then had a lovely breakfast in the breakfast bar. It was a lovely stay and if we are ever there again would highly recommend staying at this location. read more

They ran out of coffee creamers, no forks in breakfast area, no jelly in breakfast area, no black tea packets in the morning. The breakfast items were extremely low even though there was still 48 minutes before closing. Nobody around to request help. Literally disappointing for the price! read more

5 Stars for a comfortable hotel experience with super friendly staff. I was staying in Cumming and needed a convenient hotel near the highway. Luckily, Yelp reviews helped me make the right choice within a modest price point. My favorite things about this hotel were the staff and the lobby seating area. The staff that stood out was Courtney at the front desk, who I also chatted with during breakfast one morning, as well as Mukesh who handled the evening front desk and was super friendly. I'm honestly not used to such personable service at your normal chain hotel, so it stood out! In terms of the lobby seating area, I appreciated plenty of outlets (it's a great place to set up with a laptop and work), the new and comfortable seating, and the TV so you have some buffer from the lobby. I am upset about not being able to give this hotel a five star review! The reason being the linens and the room was so covered in strong scents of cleaners I got a headache. The window doesn't open and the a/c didn't filter the air. The room was very clean and roomy. The check in process was easy and the desk clerk was very nice. There was plenty of parking. The continental breakfast was very nice. But I can't stay there because of the cleaning products. read more

Everyone at this hotel was very nice except for Charlotte Thomson. I ended up double booked and the 3rd party (hotels.com) approved my refund but Charlotte would not approve it and I ended up being double booked. Everyone was very nice and accommodating but her. In the world of customer service you may want to look into replacing someone like her. read more

Tiny, cramped toilet 'closet', issues getting a comfortable temperature, aging bathroom and ANTS swarming the room's desk/TV area. Difficult parking lot and hotel access. Positives: Comfortable bed, Friendly front desk staff. Waffle House within short walking distance. We stayed here a year ago & thought the hip-touching toilet area was a bad luck anomaly. But after staying in 3 different rooms & feedback from the manager - it turns out that all of the rooms have the toilet squeezed in between the floor to ceiling ductwork & shower wall. Even my slim-hipped husband was unhappy with the 'fit'. Ants - our room backed up to a service room at the end of the hall; they must store trash in there. When we came in that night after a long day, we were stunned to find tiny ants swarming the desk/TV area - coming in from around the mirror and up the lower wall. I carry BackWoods OFF in a backpack & sprayed the crap out of everything but still had to empty, wipe down & clean off our luggage. Although we were quickly moved into another room - the heepy-cheepies just didn't go away. Worries about infesting our car trunk, house lingered for days. A follow-up from the manager acknowledging they've worked hard to minimalize ant incidents was unexpected but not reassuring. read more

One star is too much. We booked this hotel for a u15 boys soccer team and when we arrive, we are told the pool is closed, no one under 18 can use the gym, and the internet/cable is so bad you can't watch tv. Also, as we checked in, the hostess made sure to inform us that 'children are not permitted to run around and if there are complaints we would have to leave.' Apparently some kid recently broke stuff and got hurt in the gym so anyone under 18 is going to do the same. Why even book us? I guess it was just to get the $300+ per family. ZERO customer service!! They should have said all of this when we inquired about the stay. Biggest fraud in Hilton hotels. read more

We stayed here a couple of nights for a family wedding. The hotel seems newer and it's clean throughout. No problems at all with cleanliness and everything worked like it should. The staff was super nice and helpful. We were told a few weddings were staying there, and one reception seems to have carried over to the hotel, with loud talking and music. I called the desk to complain and within minutes it was shut down. There isn't breakfast service at this time so they make up little bags with fruit and breakfast bars and a pastry and a water bottle. Oranges available in a bowl, and coffee served individually. Very nice. I would definitely stay here again. However, the traffic around the area of the hotel is horrendous. It seems all the traffic anywhere near the Atlanta area is horrendous. read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cumming last night and would definitely stay here again. We were greeted warmly by the staff in the evening and they answered all of our questions. It was also nice that they had fresh cookies for everyone who checked in! The bowls of fresh oranges, and apples were also a nice touch for travelers. I hope you are there on a morning when Mama Fran is in charge of the breakfast room! She is a Southern treasure! She greets everyone, calls you Shug, pats you on the back and tells you stories of her Christian mother. Enjoy her and do not be offended. These sweet southern women are getting scarce. popcorn ceilings... need i say more? there's absolutely nothing wrong with the staff here, everyone's super nice and shout out to mama fran for always keeping us well-fed every morning. the problem is the reinvestment and maintenance of the property... everything is showing severe signs of age, especially our stripping rusty looking bathtub... and don't even get me started on plumbing. our bathtub never really drained properly so showering in a clogged tub is never fun... and one night the water turned freezing cold in the middle of my shower, and the following day there was no water supply when i was trying to get ready for the day. we didn't have neighbors the first few nights then one day we started hearing their voices and conversations, so yes, the walls are thin. so there you have it... but honestly this is probably the best you can get in cumming (what an unfortunate city name, and i can never say it with a straight face). the room was still very clean, the attached heating / cooling unit worked well, but the property needs some serious revamp. read more

This is the older style building, but it's been remodeled and is very nice inside. Rooms are comfortable and the front desk staff was very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely return if I find myself in the area. If you need a place to eat, try Tam Tupelo's Just down the street. read more

Stopped at this location on our way back to Florida after a two week road trip. The room was perfect, couldn't ask for anything more.. the staff was more than just Awesome they were excellent, professional and very personable. My family *LOVES* this particular Hampton Inn. As a result of a move necessitated by my company, we have had to sell our house in Canton and move to Texas. On the last night before closing, we decided to stay here for the night since it was near the lawyer's office where I would need to sign the paperwork the next day. We got there late on Wednesday evening and crashed. The beds were really nice and the rooms were well set up. When we returned to the hotel the following evening after some additional work at the old house to finish clearing it out, we arrived at our room to find that the person who had cleaned the room had arranged our kids' stuffed animals into a small scene on their bed, bringing an absolute smile to both of their faces after we all had a very hard day. It really helped. We were so happy with our first visit that about a week later, we returned after our family vacation to stay there while clearing out our storage unit to prepare for the trip to Texas. That trip, the lady at the front desk was the same lady as we had seen the last time and was quite helpful when I needed to look into getting some laundry done. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay overnight in the Cumming area, especially if you have children. read more

Second time we stayed here. Wonderful hotel . Beds are super comfortable and the price of $103 was excellent and includes a free hot breakfast which was nice.... and coffee and tea available 24/7 Mama Fran who keeps breakfast items stocked is an angel and you will be glad that you met her ! read more

So, we all know what we want and expect when we stay at a hotel. We want convenience, value, updated and clean facility, and amenities. This location has everything that would want or expect when staying at a hotel. But, the difference between this place and their competition is their staff. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everyone goes out of their way to make each and every guest feel very important. This appears to be a very well run and managed location. The facility was really fine but the staff is inept at best. Made a wonderful experience turn sour with billing issues that are asinine. If it is OBVIOUS that there is an overcharge. Then simply credit the card holder and all is well but these whiners say it's corporate policy to have customer dispute charges which is code word for that's an issue I cannot handle. Worst Hilton experience I've ever had. I am a HH member and always seek out Hilton hotels. Service has been consistently great until now. Because I wanted the hold fee on one credit card but to pay with another, it led to confusion and having double holds. Okay, that's fine but I went to the front desk during my stay to be sure the right card would be charged and was reassured it would. I intentionally got the king suite for the soaking tub. What a waste that was! The jets had black stuff in them. By day 2, we had an ant infestation in our bathroom. I didn't want to change rooms so we dealt with it... could not use jetted tub anyways. On check out, I told the front desk person, Amber (same person that assured me my credit card situation would be correct), that we had ants. She said, yeah, it's the rain, like they are typical and not a big deal. I agreed to an emailed receipt and we left. I checked my receipt and the wrong credit card was listed to be charged. At this point, I was not happy. I called and I got Amber. She said she called and it should have been fixed. That's when I told her that this was a bad experience. From this to the ants to the dirty tub. She then proceeded to tell me that they're one of the top hotels and they just won some Lighthouse award. Really?! That's great for you but I am loyal HH member and I am trying to tell you I had problem and you want to tell you won an award?! Amber then says she'll call me this afternoon with the corrected card billing and see what she can do with the bill. I never received a call. At 7:30 pm, I did receive a receipt for same amount. I've stayed at other Hilton properties and I have no knowledge of any awards they may or may not have won, but at least they clearly valued their customers' experience. This place was a huge disappointment in so many ways. We paid upwards $175/night for an average room with ants and a dirty tub. And then denial from the staff. read more
