stayed at the Hilton in Alpharetta for a work trip and overall had a solid experience with just a…read morefew areas that could use improvement. I arrived late--as usual--and check-in went smoothly. The front desk agent was extremely polite and helpful. I asked for a plastic key (I always do this as a backup in case the app fails), and while she was processing it, another employee (Not front desk maybe engineering are maintenance) chimed in to say I didn't need to visit the desk if I checked in on the app. I had literally just explained why I came down, so that felt a bit dismissive. Either way, I got my keys (she gave me two) and headed up. My Hilton Gold status wasn't acknowledged--not a big deal, but it's usually part of the routine. My room was on the 7th floor and looked great. Just inside the door was a Cuisinart coffee maker (dual-cup), a small refrigerator with two complimentary water bottles, and a low countertop with two drawers. Between the coffee area and the closet was a wall mirror. The closet itself had hangers, an ironing board, iron, and a safe. At the top of the closet, there was what looked like a concealed compartment--unclear what it's for, but it stood out. The bedroom had a wall-mounted TV above a second set of drawers with an ice bucket and glasses, a desk with a non-rolling alligator print chair (surprisingly stylish), and a plush armchair with a side table and lamp. Bedside setup included two lamps, an alarm clock, and a limited number of USB ports and plugs. Outlets were scarce overall--one near the coffee maker (but half-blocked), and one in the hallway. Another not positive note is they have no free coffee so you can't get a cup of coffee without paying for it and that is the first time I've encountered that at any Hilton anywhere. The bathroom was clean, with a glass shower, lighted mirror, and a built-in nightlight (which I always appreciate). Towels were average--not luxury, but not thin or scratchy. A hair dryer was provided. The door had a solid privacy guard at the bottom. I didn't have much of a view at night, but the room felt comfortable and well-kept. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag. The staff was great--super friendly and welcoming--but the food didn't impress. The bacon was practically inedible, hard like plastic. Pork sausage links were decent, and the Gouda cheese grits were flavorful but salty. Pre-made waffles were good. There were the usual extras like breads, pastries, and fruit, but overall it didn't feel like a standout Hilton breakfast. I didn't go back after that for the rest of my stay. The snack shop by the front desk could use serious attention. It was heavily stocked with healthy options that didn't seem to be selling, while candy and chocolate were gone almost immediately. I had a late night chocolate craving and came up empty-handed--only ice cream was available. On top of that, they sell glass Coke bottles that require a bottle opener, but there's none in the room or the shop. I had to go back to the front desk and ask the guy to use the one he carries in his pocket. That shouldn't be how it works--either include a bottle opener in the room or offer one with the purchase. I didn't request housekeeping during my stay, but I liked that they left a card on my door letting me know I could reach out by 2 PM if I needed anything. That's a nice, considerate touch I haven't seen at other Hiltons. Parking is mostly in the rear. There are Diamond and handicap spots up front, but for most guests, you'll need to walk a bit either to the front entrance or the side door--even from the closest spot in the main lot. Each evening, the hotel had a lively vibe. The bar and patio areas had groups hanging out, enjoying drinks and conversation. It seems like a fun place to stay if you're here for leisure. I was just in town for work, so I didn't get to take advantage of it--and I never even saw the pool (if they have one). The night staff were friendly and attentive every time I passed through the lobby. Overall, the hotel is clean, the staff is great, and the room was comfortable. Just a few tweaks--better breakfast execution, a stocked snack shop, and accessible bottle openers--would elevate the stay. On a side note I had to sign into the Wi-Fi on my cell phone and my laptop every single day of my trip At other Hiltons I stay signed in the entire time I'm there or maybe after 5 days it resets could you have your IT people adjust that setting please It's a pain when you're behind a VPN for work

The first thing that stood out was the housekeeping staff. They were absolutely fantastic. They serviced our room every day, always made sure we had fresh towels, and paid attention to the little details. They were easily the best part of our stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly as well. The beds were incredibly comfortable--I slept great every night. The shower was another highlight, with fantastic water pressure and two different showerheads that we both loved. If you're into fitness, one unique feature is that every room has its own exercise equipment, and the hotel also has an excellent gym. There's also a bar on-site if you'd like to grab a drink. As you walk into the lobby, there's infused water available, which is a really nice touch. Unfortunately, about 95% of the time there were no cups, and many times when we returned there wasn't anyone at the front desk to ask for one. The water looked refreshing, but it was usually unusable. Our first room had sticky carpet and floors--sticky enough that after walking around barefoot, the washcloth I used to wipe off my feet came away dirty. The mood lighting didn't work, and one of the bedside lamps had a burnt-out bulb. Because of the sticky floors, I requested a different room, and to the hotel's credit, the front desk moved us without any hassle. The second room was definitely cleaner, but after a couple of days we realized the carpet in that room was sticky too. The bathroom door also seemed to be slightly too large for the frame. It took both hands to force it closed and then practically wrestle it back open. The gym was excellent and one of the better hotel gyms I've seen. However, the first-floor women's restroom was out of service for our entire stay. So, if you're someone who drinks a lot of water during a workout, just know you'll have to head back to your room if nature calls. The ice machine on our floor was also broken more often than it worked, so we usually had to go to another floor for ice. One thing that concerned me was coming back around midnight or 1:00 a.m. several nights and finding nobody at the front desk. Sometimes the entrance doors were locked, sometimes they weren't, and with no staff visible, it didn't feel particularly secure. Also worth mentioning: there is no pool. If you're visiting Georgia in the summer, that's something you'll probably want to know before booking. The elevators were generally fine, but every now and then they seemed to take longer than they should have, leaving us waiting more than expected. The hotel does offer breakfast for purchase, but with Avalon just minutes away, you'll probably find better options there. And ladies, here's my public service announcement: if you're traveling with your significant other and would prefer not to conduct certain bathroom business in the same room they're sleeping in... you're out of luck. The only women's restroom outside the guest rooms--the one on the first floor--was out of service for our entire stay, so there was nowhere to make a discreet escape. Overall, there were definitely things we liked: the location, the comfortable beds, the excellent shower, the fitness amenities, the on-site bar, and especially the outstanding housekeeping staff. Unfortunately, the sticky floors in two different rooms, maintenance issues, lack of a pool, out-of-service restroom, inconsistent lobby staffing, and other small frustrations added up. We'd probably choose a different hotel next time, but if those issues were addressed, we'd happily give it another chance.

Also, Dillion (Bartender Extraordinaire) introduced me to Saldo Zinfandel, which reminded me of Zin tastings in Lodi and northern Napa Valley. Kudos to the entire Hamilton staff for being so personally engaging and professional. The property itself is beautiful, and check-in was smooth. The front desk representative who checked us in initially was friendly and professional. We were assigned Room 414, which initially seemed comfortable and well appointed. That all changed around 2:00 am, when a wall recessed alarm inside the room suddenly went off at a volume comparable to a fire alarm. It was loud, jarring, and immediately woke us up in a state of panic. We called the front desk immediately and were told this happens occasionally, there was no life safety concerns, and we did not need to vacate the property. The representative said she would reset the room by cutting and restoring power, which she noted sometimes resolved the issue. What was truly surprising (the alarm itself aside), was how familiar the representative was with the problem; this made it clear this wasn't the first time it had occurred. Unfortunately, the reset did not work. About 20 minutes later, after we had settled back into bed, the alarm went off again. When we called the front desk back, we were told our only options were for them to turn off the power to the room for the remainder of the night or move to another room for what would have only been a few remaining hours of sleep. Turning off the power wasn't an ideal option because my husband's medical sleep device requires continuous power, and after being jolted awake multiple times, relocating in the middle of the night felt like another unnecessary disruption. I understand that systems fail and unexpected mechanical issues can happen. However, because it was clear this was a known, recurring issue, it felt like a missed opportunity to address a maintenance problem before placing a guest in that room. Being repeatedly awakened by a blaring alarm is not a minor inconvenience, especially when is avoidable. As a Hilton Honors member who stays at Hilton properties frequently, I found this experience especially disappointing. The response felt reactive rather than proactive and did not mirror the level of service either one of us had come to expect from the Hilton brand (especially a Curio Collection property). The Hamilton is a beautiful hotel in a prime location, but a hotel stay ultimately comes down to comfort and rest. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, hopefully this feedback helps prevent similar experiences for future guests.

Which moved me off the floor where the rest of my party was staying. After getting checked in, I settled into my suite only to discover that the AC unit in the living room area did not work. Luckily, the one in the bedroom worked. So instead of moving rooms once again, I stayed in this room. The next night I went to let front desk know about the AC unit (I turned it off for the day to see if that would help, it didn't). I discovered there were a lot of guest in the lobby area and found out that there were no employees on site. Seems the staff that were on duty just left. I was told by management, upon check out, because of my issues that I would be refunded one night, which I was, and given the points on my account for one night stay. It's been over two months. I still haven't received my points and I can never get anyone on the phone when I call. It always just rings. The odds of me staying at this hotel again are very slim due to the issues of my last stay. If they do what they say they will do then I may reconsider. As for the conditions of the room, they are OK but not a top-notch Hampton Inn.

That said, the accessible suites are the absolute furthest one could get from the elevator. When planning future projects, I highly recommend Hilton not require their mobility challenged guests to walk so far to get to their accessible suites. Additionally, handicap parking was likely the minimum the local municipality required at the time of construction. Granted we checked in later, around 8:00 pm; however, the few handicap spaces near the front were all taken along with almost all of the regular parking spaces. I had to end up leaving my mother (who resides full time in a memory care facility) alone in the lobby while I attempted to find a parking space which ended up being in the rear of the property. Again, great accessibility once you get to your room, however, improvements are needed to ensure your mobility challenged guests park and access their rooms with much more ease.
