One star is much too generous. I made a reservation on hiltonhhonors. The hotel policy there stated the hotel is NOT pet friendly. I was startled awake numerous times by at least 2 barking dogs in the adjoining room I complained to the much less than sympathetic front desk the next morning at checkout. When I received my receipt by email I found that I was rewarded with a $75 pet fee added to my stay. I contacted the hotel numerous times but they will not return calls. I did receive an email letting me know the hotel has been pet friendly for "furry friends" since sometime in 2022. No mention of the fraudulent billing in the email. Avoid the hassles and unprofessionalism at this hotel, stay elsewhere. read more

Everything. -0 stars This hotel's staff has admitted to not thoroughly cleaning each room after every guest, not even performing basic tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, or cleaning behind the bed. In fact, during my stay, I found a fishing hook and a spider in the first room I was assigned to. When I brought this issue to the attention of the front desk staff, Jean, the staff member on duty, seemed overwhelmed and took almost 90 minutes to check me in and assign me a new room, which was unfortunately even dirtier than the first one. To make matters worse, the manager, Cassandra, was dismissive and unhelpful during our conversation, failing to address my concerns or provide any meaningful solutions. The noise level in this hotel is horrible so loud there is no way anyone can get any sleep. The A/C sounded like a 747 plane was running its turbine in the room. The state of disrepair at the front of the building and the sad exterior lounging area with a BBQ only serve to reinforce my belief that this hotel does not deserve to be associated with the Hilton brand and is not even worthy of being called a motel. read more

We chose the Hampton Inn in Elkins during a motorcycle trip with our friends through the beautiful West Virginia mountains. After riding a long day from the Indianapolis area, we were so pleased to walk into the clean an air-conditioned lobby and be greeted by one of their employees. We believe we also may have met the owner/general manager of the hotel. He was friendly and encouraged us to go to Smoke on the Water for dinner later tonight. Clearly proud of his hotel - and rightfully so. The rooms are what you would expect for a Hampton Inn, but they were impeccably clean. No fuzzies or dust on the carpet. No remnant that anyone had been in the room except the smell of fresh cleaner. The bathrooms, table tops, and appliances we are all completely dust free and sanitized. The bathroom was immaculate. When we got to our room, the door had a sticker crossed it showing that no one had entered after the sanitation process and the remote control for the TV was wrapped in a sleeve stating that it to has been sanitized. Morning coffee was served in the lobby to us by an attendant wearing a mask, apron and gloves. What we loved about this hotel is that it sits at the top of the hill, up a quiet and winding road and overlooks the city of Elkins and the beautiful mountains. If we have her visit Elkins again, or even the surrounding area, we would remember this hotel and stay here hands-down!! read more

I didn't even stay at this hotel and was charged for it. Canceled the booking, got a confirmation that I would get refunded. I've been waiting for more than two weeks. I got not only one but TWO confirmations that I would get refunded. I also spoke to an employee who works here that told me I would be able to get my money back. Then when they told me to call back on Monday for the general manager, I was lied to by the front desk manager Keisha or whatever her name is. She told me that I would be able to talk to the general manager about my situation, and when I called she proceeded to laugh at me, at the fact that I "couldn't" get my refund. Not only is this place robbing me for my money, but they clearly don't care about peoples feelings or lives in general! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!! read more

Unfortunately this place is literally falling apart including our hair dryer, the towel holders, the shower door handle, and the receptacle beside the bed. The visit started out rocky with the clerk in the office giving me the wrong key card. When we tried to unlock the door it wouldn't work even though it said the room number on the card that matched the room. The maids were kind enough to let us in and when I entered the room I realize somebody else was already staying in that room. That made me a little nervous hoping that nobody else would accidentally be given the key card to my room. Other than that, things were really nice there. The rooms were clean as well as the bathroom. The beds were super comfy with nice clean comforters and soft fluffy pillows on them. The breakfast the next morning was like eating at a buffet. The food was all good and the variety was endless. Staff was very friendly. The price was reasonable and I would stay there again. read more

Stayed there for ski trip with family. Although not very close to any ski resort, is close enough to 2 or 3 of them, so you can go to different ones in different days! The hotel is new and clean! Usually I have reservations on kids walking around the room of hotels, but this one was new and clean enough to give us piece of mind on this matter. 5 stars for the staff. Hotel is pretty typical, but had such a great experience with everyone here. My motorcycle got a flat just before arriving and the staff went out of their way to assist. Whitney went out of her way to try and help, if not at least clam my stress down with a good conversation. Breakfast was good. Civilization in Elkins! Beautiful, new, clean hotel! Friendly staff ... and duvet covers/comforters & sheets are washed fresh between every guest. The pool was small but nice. I used the hot tub every evening. The view from my room was beautifly scenic. I posted a picture of it as well as a picture of my room. No bathtub but the shower is spacious. We have a refrigerator and a microwave in our room. Bed was comfortable. I had a king size room. Very happy with our stay. My first time in Elkins. read more

Usually when I get to a hotel, the first thing I do is Clorox everything from the light switches and remote to the toilet handle and all the door knobs, then toss the duvet on the floor and shudder a little bit. But I've stayed at Hampton Inns before, and this place didn't disappoint based off my previous experiences. The duvet was clean and spotless, the bathroom spacious and well stocked and the bed was OH MY GOD comfy. To the point that I suffered an ugly bout of insomnia, only slept from about ten pm to one am, and I didn't even care. I just lolled around in the bed, basically swan diving in the pristine pillows and stretching a bunch to put my limbs in cool spots. Breakfast was awesome! The pool is small, and sadly, the hot tub was busted (no bubbles) but encased in huge glass windows. My husband and I sat in the (slowly moving water of the) hot tub and watched a lightning storm roll by. And the views were beautiful, even from the ground floor hot tub. My only gripe is that they don't allow pets, so I can't travel with my little doggy. read more

Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! I won't be back - ever. I booked two rooms for two nights. They couldn't give me double queens and they were out of cots. Thankful for Walmart next door and for air mattresses. The front desk staff are rude and arrogant (Jason, Justin and Jacob.). The only kind and considerate staff members are Emily and Bailey - these two ladies went out of their way to help with the obnoxious baseball players that acted like animals tearing up the room upstairs keeping guests up all night. I was told that the baseball team was checking out so I wouldn't cancel my second night. Low and behold, the team was still here running around like toddlers when I ache back from my family reunion today. It was too late to switch my reservation and I've got to spend another night through hell. The hotel would not give the unruly team consequences for poor behavior thus they had no incentive to act like humans. Instead me and other guests had to suffer :(. The pool area is small and the kiddie size hot tub was a 'really' type question. Do yourself a favor and stay at another decent hotel. read more

When we arrived at the room, everything was clean and ready for us. They use duvets instead of comforters, so they are cleaned for each new guest. The staff is very nice, as well. We wrecked our car and they were patient with us and extended our check out time and let us book extra nights late notice. They have a shuttle that takes you anywhere in town and a nice warm fire to wait by. read more
