We stayed at the Hampton Inn - Fairhope for a wedding weekend and had an excellent experience! We arrived on a busy Saturday with three rooms, and to our surprise, all were ready before the standard 3 PM check-in -- a huge help on a hectic day. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating from start to finish. The morning crew at breakfast was fantastic, keeping everything stocked, clean, and running smoothly with cheerful energy. I left our dog's handmade quilt in our room when we left this hotel on May 21st. We have been trying for over a month to get it back. At first, they claimed to have it, but, as of couple of weeks ago, POOF, it disappeared. The matter has been escalated to corporate without resolution. The hotel manager will not return phone calls and it has been very difficult to get through to the front desk from day one. The corporate-level customer service, apparently, cannot get the hotel management to act on this problem. If I could leave a zero rating I would. We are not ignorant to the ways lost items are supposed to be handled as my wife worked in the industry and has a degree in Hotel Management. Since IHG corporate is unable to help guests resolve issues like this, I will Never Ever stay at another IHG brand property again. read more

Dirty and they forgot to clean my room. Pulling up and checking in, this looks like a great place. They've done a great job with the exterior and lobby areas. Parking on the street and the garage is nice. You can walk anywhere in the town center from this place so it's located perfectly. I got up to my room and thought to myself for about $100 a night I could live with the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, the hair clip from another guest under the bathroom vanity, and the beer bottle cap under the curtain above the air conditioner. I didn't complain about the occasional cigarette smell wafting into my room despite it being a "Smoke free" floor. They have a written policy of only cleaning the room every other day. So when I went to my room on the second day around lunchtime, I stopped by the front desk and asked them to please remember to clean my room. Of course, they forgot about this which I discovered when I got back around 4:30. When I finally returned to the hotel for the night around 7:30, there was a sign at the front desk "Be back soon." I had to wait around a half hour before I could obtain clean towels. This location needs to try harder. I understand working within budgetary constraints, but forgetting to clean a guests room after they've reminded you to do so is just poor performance. Do better Hampton Inn Fairhope! read more

Great location in downtown Fairhope. Was easy to walk to most locations and there's free parking everywhere to include the parking garage behind the hotel. The hotel is up to the standards I'd expect of a Hampton Inn. The front desk clerk was very nice and got us checked in a couple hours early. They had a robust Continental breakfast with little omelets, turkey sausage, fried potatoes, cereal, fruit, bread, coffee, juice, etc. I love a good breakfast. There is a ChargePoint station in the parking garage that costs $1.25/hour. Was disappointed it's not free. Two spots ICE'd out. All in all, a pleasant experience. read more

The location is great, in the middle of downtown Fairhope. The parking is decent as well as the breakfast , However, we are staying for a total of 4 nights and are told we have to "request housekeeping" if we want it. Ok, no problem. Everyday before we leave we put in our request for housekeeping. The only thing housekeeping has done is make our bed . That's it. Our trash is overflowing and dirty towels are piling up. What does housekeeping even do at this place????? I'm sorry, but if we are paying a total of 750 bucks for a four night stay we shouldn't have to ask for fresh towels and our trash to be freakin emptied. Definitely do not recommend. read more

I travel a lot for work and have traveled for 40 years. I have never written a review on a hotel before now, but we had such a bad experience at this hotel, I feel compelled to let future guests and hotel ownership know. If I could give zero stars, I would. Long story that started with a digital room check-in that indicated our room was ready. Upon opening the door, it was very clear that housekeeping had not touched the room from the previous occupant (dirty towels, trash, unmade bed, etc.). NBD, it happens sometimes. We let the evening front desk clerk know, and she kindly gave us a new room and sent an email to the manager. I asked when I might have a chance to speak with the manager to discuss, and she mentioned that she did not know when the manager would be on property as he did not let staff know when he was working. We stopped by the front desk the next morning to inquire if the manager would be in that day, and the desk clerk Jordan told us the same thing, that she wasn't sure which days he would be on property. We left a Do Not Disturb sign on our door so housekeeping would not clean the room and came back in the evening to a cleaned room. The 3rd day, we asked Jordan again if the manager would be in (same story again) and notified her that our room had been cleaned despite the Do Not disturb sign. She began a verbal attack on us and stated that my husband had requested it, which of course he had not. Jordan was unusually combative for no apparent reason and laughed at us with the other desk clerk. Our room was cleaned again that day with the Do Not Disturb sign hung on the door. Suddenly my digital access no longer worked, and I was told by Hilton Honors customer service that the front desk clerk can turn off digital access. The hotel is very dated with old and dusty furniture and plumbing. Most of the equipment in the fitness center was not working properly. Also note that this hotel has no handicap parking spaces. I received an email from the manager on the 3rd day that we could contact him, but we did not see the email until late in the day after he was gone. We checked out a day early, and leaving was the best decision! read more

The location was great. And it was nice to have free parking. However, this location needs a remodel. Furniture was scratched up. Wallpaper falling down. Electrical plates were dingy yellow Overall, Lots of wear and tear. Also, when I arrived at the front desk, I explained I had already checked in on the app. I was handed two keys as back up, but the receptionist never checked my ID to confirm. I lived in Fairhope for several years, and this was my first time coming back and staying in a hotel. I am so glad I chose to stay here! Reasons to stay here: it is walkable to all downtown shops, restaurants, bars, parades, and even the Fairhope Pier. My room, studio king bed, was so clean, smelled amazing, and stayed cool. If you stay in hotels often, you know how important that last perk is! They offer a standard breakfast in the morning to get your day going. The front desk was helpful with all my questions. The biggest perk of all was how it was so quiet. I feel like at night in a hotel, I always hear someone in the hall or in a room nearby. I never once here so much as a thump. I slept so well. Things to consider: there is a lot of nearby construction. If you are gone during the day, this should not affect you in any way. There is plenty of parking in the garage behind the hotel or on the street. If you are here during a festival or parade time, know that parking could get tricky. I will 100% bed staying here again. read more

Noisy trash trucks at 530 am just outside my damned window overlooking an alley. I can already hear the excuse... "it's the city schedule, we can't do anything". Yes you can! Complain as the customer to stop this asinine collection time of 0530 in the morning near a facility that visitors to your community are fore damned sure sleeping. I'm not sure where to begin. They fraudulently charged my credit card $212.70. I didn't realize it until I got my statement. I called and they gave me the runaround for several days. First the manager would be in the next day and would handle it. Then the next day when I called back the manager was away for several days. The third time I called they said that they couldn't find my cancellation confirmation number which I gave them several times. Finally I called the Corporate office...they were incredibly helpful and gave me my full refund. This Hampton Inn is independently owned...I'm not sure who's running the place but they are frauds. The free parking deck is conveniently located to the back of the hotel, and there are a ton of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Stayed at this Hampton Inn for work last week. The staff is so nice and friendly! Upon check in, we were greeted with bottled water and cookies! I used the gym several days and was usually the only person there! It was very clean during my stay. I felt like my bathroom could have been cleaner, however it was huge! I think it's the only Hampton Inn bathroom with a sliding door shower. I was given plenty of towels, etc that were refreshed each day. When I came back at the end of the work day, it was easy to find parking and enter the hotel through the back. I did have the continental breakfast, which was fine but I would really like to see some non-dairy milk options. There are a ton of cute shops and restaurants that are walkable from the hotel, as well! read more

We stay at Hampton Inns and other Hilton properties on a frequent basis, this Hampton was a disappointment. The staff were pleasant enough, but this place screams for a renovation. The carpets in our room were old and musty, the smell in the room was unpleasant, the room had several lamps and the microwave unplugged, I didn't know if it was safe to plug them in, I took a chance. The bed had a fitted sheet that was too small, so it kept popping off all night. All the fixtures were very dusty, poor upkeep. Not enough carts, so when we left we had to carry all of our stuff ourselves. The city of Fairhope is wonderful, the people are friendly, no litter anywhere. lots of shops, especially antiques. We'll be back, but not at that Hampton. read more

This review is generous. The best thing about this place was the front desk were very nice. The room was dark and gloomy. Parking was difficult. Construction going on and it was just not up to par. This hotel needs updating desperately. They don't have AC in the halls and its very muggy and musty. The pool was closed for 2 days due to maintenance but it didn't matter because it really is just a cement pond surrounded by cinder block. The breakfast meat was sausage EVERY day for 4 days, I can only assume because its cheaper than bacon? Eggs inedible..... People at the desk very nice and helpful. Rooms are very tired and dark.... If your in your 20's you may be just fine here, but at 50 my expectations are higher and I will not be returning to the Hilton property. read more

Five stars aren't enough for the staff of this hotel. My family and I stayed here for a week while our family member was in Thomas Hospital. We interacted mainly with Nancy, Christina and Maria. All three of these ladies showed our entire group more kindness and empathy than any of us could have expected. They each went so far above and beyond to help us in every way and each asked about our family member who was hospitalized. I cannot express the gratitude my family and myself have for this place and it's stellar staff. Even the housekeeping staff was simply amazing. They will never know how very much their kindness meant to us all. I recommend 100%. read more

I love this hotel. I have stayed here several times over the past couple of years when my mom was ill and later in hospice. The staff was kind and accommodating, the rooms were nice, the beds comfortable. That's why it pains me to give our recent stay a two-star review. Our bed is like concrete. Actually My husband had dreams we were sleeping on cardboard. Maybe we got an older room with older mattresses. I've really never slept on a hotel bed this bad. It's like extra-extra-extra firm. And we woke up to the soothing sounds of a leaf blower. On Thanksgiving. It went on for at least 20 minutes. While I tried to stretch out the knots in my back from sleeping on a rock, I pondered why this man was so dead set on blowing away every leaf in the alley along the side of the hotel. Was he just that committed to the job? Or did he have some unresolved wounds from Thanksgivings past? Maybe he volunteered to do the work! Like a Thanksgiving grinch. Anyway, we are going to take some ibuprofen and charge through the day. Then return to our room for a restful night on our slab, I mean bed. Yep. Sent friends here to stay for a regatta (always better than my house). It is great to have the parking garage, even though the main level is blocked with - no other word for it - crap hogging the best slots. This place is gorgeous outside. Inside it is filthy. The rooms I had reserved were just looking way too old for the age of the property. A kind conversation with the front desk was met with fake smiles and glassy eyes. Move on. For the price (and proximity to the Yacht Cub) this Hilton Property can keep its HHonors points. Even the breakfast buffet was set up late every morning and was a poor excuse of nutrition. The juice (only one kind) was soured and warm. The bagels were brinks. BUT there is A Broken Egg down the street. Yuck and avoid. read more

And Now For Something Completely Unacceptable.... Apparently some of the other reviewers are confusing the City of Fairhope with the Hampton of Fairhope. The City is lovely. This Hampton is bad. Very bad. I gave it a second chance since the painters had turned the house into a thing of drywall sand and plastic. It wasn't even my third choice. The phrase 'never forget your first time' is so very apropos to this place. In so many ways. I called first. Spoke to a pleasant chappie named Kevin. Who heard my tale of woe about the first visit and instantly upgraded me to a balcony room. Several hours later, I checked in. Greeted by a lobby freshly sprayed with Essence of Dirty Mop Water. And on to the room. Nothing like the feel of raw concrete under thin carpet to welcome you in. Sheers and blackout curtains with broken pull wands. A king bed with queen flat sheet. Good thing I was the only inhabitant or there would have been a fight for the covers that eclipses anything in Congress. Cracked kidney-shaped lap tray. Threadbare towels possibly discarded by a Motel 6. And my personal favorite (although not familiar from personal experience): The Recycled Frat House Bed. Complete with visible dips, dives and waves. That mattress was more tired than....well, something that probably can't be referred to in a family publication such as TripAdvisor. Pish, tosh, I hear you say. Small complaints most likely confined to that one room. Maybe so, but here's the crowning chocolate nut bar floating in the swimming pool: An a/c filter so clogged with dust and the decaying fleshflakes of thousands of guests that it smells like nothing on Earth. And you know what else was clogged? The a/c drain line. Know what happens when the a/c drain line in a muggy Southern hotel room is clogged? The moisture cycles back into the Southern hotel room and when one awakens in the morning, one is not refreshed. One is locked in battle with wet, clammy sheets and a newly established relationship with Rhinopharyngitis and Acute Coryza. The towels were also refrigerated textile abominations. All these elements combined to fracture my usual crystalline composure so I made A List. And at the Front Desk, calmly asked the dark-haired young woman with the comb over to please notify Maintenance there were Issues with the Room. She wrote down several, stopped, and said, 'Is that all?' Sighing, I replied that was all. 'Good-bye', she said, clearly indicating she was finished with me. 'And have a good day.' I did. After a hastily arranged visit to my GP and the purchase of an antibiotic and several other nasal drainage assistants. So much for the vaunted Hampton Satisfaction Guarantee. (Even if HHonors sends a night's equivalent of points, I'm still out the price of the stay AND what's worse, the price of the cure which is still being reckoned.) NOTE TO ALL: Pick any of the three Hilton properties in Daphne. Much less expensive, much cleaner and in better condition. Drive a little, save your sinuses. read more

This property is 4 years old and this was my second time to stay here. Being relatively new the property is nice. It's biggest asset is that it's in the middle of downtown Fairhope. That's a plus if you are staying in the area. If you are going into Mobile it's at least a 30 minute to there. Parking is either on the street which is nice and preferable and there is also a free public parking garage directly behind the hotel. Both times that I have stayed here I received a $99 rate which is very attractive. Staff was attentive and helpful. read more

We love the location, but the servicing of our room had much to be desired. We arrived back after a long day out only to find we had one bath towel for 2, one hand towel for 2, 2 wash rags, and no rug for the shower as well as no replacement toilet paper. Had to ask for replacements for everything at front desk. Also air doesn't seem to cool very well. We were on 4th floor. Stay lower its much cooler even in the hallways. Front desk was accommodating to us for what we needed but we shouldn't have to ask for towels. Room layout is not the best for hamptons and I always stay at Hilton properties but have experimented with Marriott lately and found them to be more accommodating at times depending upon location. I fee this location needs some work and upgrades. read more

I have stayed at this hotel three times. The first two times all was great. But this time I had a problem. The air conditioner in our room kept cycling on and off and there was no way to keep the fan in the unit on to prevent this cycling. I reported to the front desk and was told that the fan feature would only bring in air from outside. The cycling and turning off and on of the unit kept waking me up and I could not get a good night sleep for two nights. I thought it was only my room but my extended family was staying at the same hotel for a wedding and both my niece and my nephew complained that their units were doing the same thing! I don't know if the management changed the fan option to save money but it certainly made all of us uncomfortable trying to sleep. Also my husband is an avid golfer and likes to watch the golf channel on TV. The hotel had the channel a year and a half ago when we stayed there for another wedding. However they have changed cable providers and the new provider does not provide the golf channel or many other of the premium channels they had before. I certainly hope these new apparent money saving changes don't destroy an otherwise lovely property that is very centrally located to all things Fairhope. read more

Can't show a picture if you weren't able to stay! I called and made a reservation for Saturday. I was out of luck, and that's a curt, "you are interrupting me" out of luck. A couple of days later I had much better luck (or so I thought). I called to see if there was a cancelation, there wasn't, but wait...she found a room, but dang it was on the 12th, well ok, I guess we can get there late Friday, oh wait we are in luck again! We can do Saturday! The trick was ma'am could over ride Hilton mandatory 2 or 3 night feature. Yay! Nope. Got to Fairhope, got on the app to check in. No room. Room was reserved for the night before! No rooms available downtown, which was the whole purpose of the trip. So she reserved me on the wrong night, took my money, no confirmation email, but email had to be right as they sent me an email to use the app to check in. And every time I call I am met with "so" attitudes and you have to wait for "ma'am, she will be here tomorrow " They could care less that they messed up so bad as to cost someone money for a room they didn't even get! Where I come from that is called a thief! Ways they could have rectified are plentiful, they did nothing! read more

Right in the heart of downtown Fairhope. They are in walking distance to the bay and shops and restaurants. The beds are super comfortable. They have free breakfast from 6-10AM and free popcorn in the lobby 24/7. Great hotel in a great location plus free parking in the parking deck! read more
