I stayed here for one night. It's fine for the price. You get what you pay for. It's a good location. Make sure you request to stay in the main building. I ended up in the second building which was not great. I had requested to be near the lobby and elevators because I have a knee injury and in a brace. I ended up in a room furthest from the elevator and in a completely different building. I tried to get there early before check in to try to make sure I had a good location but no luck. The breakfast was pretty good. Egg and cheese omelettes, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, etc. The hotel states it has been remodeled. It has Maybe but it is nothing fancy. Walls are pretty thin. You can hear peoples conversations in the hallway. Again, if you are on a budget it works. read more

Overall nice and clean hotel room and property. Love that breakfast was included and it was a nice breakfast, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy! Did not disappoint. Bathrooms were a little tight. We were there for 5 days and asked for the trash to be taken out from the front desk and it wasn't, so it did accumulate rather quickly for our stay. It was nice that it had a list of activities to do. But overall it was a great place, I would stay there again. read more

Just an okay experience- Location: great, super close to downtown Fairhope and the pier. Cleanliness: 3/5. We found a roach in the bathtub. Rooms: we had one night in a standard queen room- SO SMALL. I wouldn't imagine a very large person would fit in the bathroom. We are a family of 4 and it was beyond tight. The rest of our stay was in a queen suite and it was GREAT! It was HUGE, perfect for a family and we all enjoyed it. Etc: our room was not ready until 4pm- an hour after said check-in time. Super annoying when you have 2 tires toddlers. My husband and I decided to take our kids on a back-to-school trip to Tropic Falls OWA in Foley, AL. Initially, we booked an Airbnb that unfortunately did not work out. As we were leaving the Airbnb, we searched for properties nearby. This is where we found this hotel. I booked directly through my IHG account. Upon check-in, the gentleman at the desk was friendly and even gave us some recommendations for places to eat in the area. However, when we got up to the room, it was unusually hot, especially since they had the A/C set at about 68 degrees. We didn't think much of it and decided to go out for dinner. When we got back, the room was still extremely hot, and still set at 68 degrees. I called down to the front desk to see if there was something they could do. They said that maintenance was going to look for us a fan to put inside the room. I asked for a room switch and was told that they would have to get management's approval in order to move us to a new room. That never happened, "maintenance" brought us a big industrial fan that was marked for use in the housekeeping laundry area. When the guy came, he had on flip flop sandals and said that the room was big so that's why it wasn't cooling in all areas - why build it that way? The fan was obnoxiously loud and blew extremely hard. We toughed it out for the night. The next morning, we got dressed for the water park and went down to breakfast. As we are finishing breakfast, my friend was told by Crystal at the front desk, that she could not be in the breakfast area dressed the way she was dressed (a bathing suit with shorts and two cover ups), and in order to be down there, she needed to go put on more clothes. We explained to her that we were leaving, and that we were heading to the water park. She said that she didn't care and that she needed to put on more clothes. It was apparent that this was due t us being one of the only few black people at the entire hotel, and the fact that she was extremely curvy. We decided to leave for the park and ignore the hatred. On the way out I asked Crystal to give me her name so that I could report the incident and after asking a few times, she barged over (wearing no shoes- only socks) and got up in my face telling me that if I wanted to talk to her, I need to come to her. We left and headed for the park. On the 40-minute drive to the park, I called and reported the incident, and by the time I got to the park, I got a call from Crystal herself - how ironic- telling me that she was told to move our room. I politely declined. When we got back to the hotel that evening, I talked to the front desk guy that checked us in and he assured me that a manager wasn't available, but he would get them to contact me. The following Monday, I was contacted and told that they would investigate the incident and make sure to contact me, as well as try to rectify the terrible situations we experienced. However, nothing has been done and no return calls have been made. I suggest that if you are a person of color, please do yourself and your family a favor and stay in a more diverse area, or at least in an area closer to that OWA area. Everywhere we went in Fairhope, we were given looks as if we didn't belong there, and this hotel was no exception. read more

My fiancé and I stayed here for one night while we visited family in Fairhope. We loved it! This hotel is apparently recently renovated. It is beautiful, clean, warm and inviting. The people at the desk were friendly and efficient. We stayed in a king suite, which was quite spacious. It had 2 large TV's, a small table with 2 chairs in the kitchen area (microwave, fridge, coffee maker), couch, desk, separate bedroom. The bed was so soft and comfortable and had 2 soft and 2 firm pillows. The tub was huge, def could fit 2 people, and the water pressure was fantastic. The breakfast was pretty decent as well. Two types of sausage, biscuits, gravy, hot cinnamon rolls, breads/pastries, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. we will def stay here next time we are in Fairhope! read more

Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Fairhope! My room is always super clean and the shower has amazing water pressure! The bed is very comfortable with both firm and soft pillows to ensure you get a good night sleep. The traditional breakfast wasn't served due to COVID, which kind of makes me sad because it meant that I didn't get to see the lovely woman that normally prepares it! Seriously... they have the nicest staff here... I am a die hard Marriott person, but when I'm in Fairhope, this is my go to! read more

Stayed one night passing through from Texas to Florida. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room #123 needs updates in the bathroom. Extremely small bathroom for even two people. The shower was walk-in and had shower curtain -- not sanitary. Sink didn't drain properly. Walls are thin and we could hear tv from room next door and their conversation. Had to wear earplugs. I can't believe some of the reviews regarding breakfast and how good it is. We've stayed at two Holiday Inn Express hotels: Ellensburg, WA and Rosenberg, Texas -- where their breakfasts were delicious. Fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, fluffy biscuits, etc. The Fairhope serves a horrible breakfast. One guest walked up and let out a grone and got coffee, took a sip and threw in trash. There were a group of construction workers at hotel and they threw away plates half full of food, I'd think they would need a good breakfast. The fruit on the breakfast bar was old, a rotten apple and really black over ripened bananas. The restaurant uses styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Fairhope is such a cute area, very surprised they do so little to recycle -- especially using styrofoam! Hotel lobby is inviting and hotel is located in a nice safe area with good parking. It's about 10 miles south off I-10. We travel so much between Texas and Florida, we're still looking for a hotel that knocks our socks on for repeat stays. Fairhope itself is worth a return visit. Has many interesting restaurants to try, beautiful waterfront too. read more

I am always pleasantly surprised with every Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in, and this location was no exception. Everything feels so modern and abnormally clean, that you have to remind yourself this is a hotel chain. I checked in through a third party without any issues. My room was spacious and my king-size bed could probably fit three adults or a king-sized individual. The seating area was nice, and I loved that there was plenty of space for my computer, messy paperwork, and binders. Bonus points for their shampoo and body wash coming from Bath and Body Works! The complimentary breakfast at Holiday Inn is always something I look forward to. The egg omelette is always the best part. read more

Did I stay at a different hotel? This is one of the nicest HIE I have stayed at in quite some time. My room itself didn't even feel like a HIE room, mostly because the typical green color wasn't present. Perhaps the hotel updated its rooms recently? I'm also status with HIE so maybe I was given an updated room? Nevertheless, the hotel itself exceeded my expectations. The room was modern and clean, with a soft and inviting bed. The shower was spacious but the bathroom was on the smaller side. Lobby was much nicer than a typical HIE. Breakfast was standard. read more

Very quiet room after a day of travel and beach time. Called a different hotel and the guy couldn't find the hotel so ended up hanging up. I stayed here and blocked off rooms for guests during my wedding weekend in November. The staff was so incredibly wonderful during the entire planning process and during the time we stayed, and so many guests told me before and after how astonished they were that the hotel was as nice as it was. I stayed in the deluxe suite with my husband, and it was massive, which was great, as it was where I got ready on my wedding day. (I lovingly kicked him out that afternoon. lol) Some family and friends also had plenty of room to get ready in there with me, which was wonderful. As a bonus, when checking in, we were able to get in the room a smidge early, which was incredible of the staff. They were also super sweet when we left and didn't rush us out. I wouldn't trade staying here during my wedding festivities for anything. It was the perfect space for all of my family and friends to mingle, and we had a blast! I love this hotel. read more

I really liked the hotel. The staff was nice & friendly. The rooms were pretty nice and up to date furniture wise. It also has a pretty good location. Now the major complaint. If it were not for this the hotel would have 5 stars, but I see it to be a major problem. The carpets were so extremely dirty! I should have suspected something, just by the handle on the front door (filthy dirty), but I didnt. Basically, the hotel common areas are ok otherwise. However, you'd thinbk that a hotel, whose main function is to provide a bed, pillow and shower are there main functions would get at leat 2 out of 3 right. Well, it was th e opposite, they got 1 out of 3. Basically the Bed sucked (hard and not comfortable) and the pillows sucked too (worn out). The shower was fine, clean and decent. Only shampoo and soap were offiered, nothing else. Staff was friendly, so no problems there. On Sunday you can go to the Conference Room for a Halleluha Mass (Wow, only in Alabama). So, I'd say stay up the highway in Daphne (8 miles) in the NEW Hilton, Com\mfort Inn or the other new hotels, you bee much happier and it ' ll only cost you $20 more. Not enough difference here in cost to justify a big step down in quality. read more

Clean, comfortable and a good breakfast. The water pressure is very good and the water is very hot, which for me equals a great shower. There is no microwave out in the breakfast area and of course I noticed this after I added milk to my oatmeal. Great place to stay the rooms was clean. Only thing I hated was there is only one elevator so it takes forever to get down or up. They didn't really serve a breakfast due to covid the pool also wasnt open due to the covid. I didn't hold that against giving them a 5 star rating. We had brought breakfast and went swimming at orange beach so it wasn't a big deal. Now I think our room rate should've bee cheaper do to this. Over all we had a great experience and loved Fairhope we was only 5 mins from the pier so we did night fishing which was really cool. We stayed at the HIE in Fairhope this past Saturday. We made our reservation for a suite 2 weeks ago. Knowing that we would not be checking in until late, I called the HIE and talked to Tiffany, who said that I was booked with a regular room. I explained to her that I was supposed to have a suite, and she said she would gladly change it. I realized we were going to be really late, like midnight, and wanted to make sure they knew we were coming, so I called and talked to Tiffany again. She assured me that my suite was still available and they would not give it away. She let me know that she would get off at 11pm, but everything would be fine. We arrived at the hotel around 12:30am to find Margorie at the front desk. Margorie was very nice and explained that "we just purchased this property, so if there's anything wrong, any little thing, let me know". Well there was so much wrong, I didn't have the time to talk to her about it as we were on a tight schedule. Margorie looked up our room...guess what...not a suite, just a regular room. Even after all the calling, we still weren't booked correctly. I can appreciate that Margorie was able to get us in the suite that we originally asked for, but to have to go through all the calling, then the stress of finding out it was all a farce is just unnecessary. Margorie was very nice and came to the room with us to make sure everything was fine. At a glance, it looked ok. Now, about the room...Every fabric in the room was filthy. Some furniture was threadbare and had holes, but it was all dirty and obviously old. The headboard had obvious goo smeared and dried on it. I dropped my charger on the floor by the bed and the amount of dust and dirt on the carpet between the bed and the wall was completely disgusting...makes me itch just to think about it...I actually felt the need to wipe my charger off! The bathroom seemed pretty clean with the exception of the door jams which had OBVIOUS dried tan-colored liquid on them and the toilet seat was loose. Nothing like sitting on the toilet and having the seat slip from under you! We didn't experience any more of the hotel. The point is, this hotel is extremely dirty. I took pictures of the obvious dirt on the walls, floor, door jams, etc. and would gladly post if I could I'm still itching...like REALLY, I am itching. read more

Great hotel that exceeded nearly all of our expectations. The pool was very nice and maintained. The property is nicer than your average HIE. There is a sunroom in the lobby and nice outdoor seating amongst the trees. The rooms are generally nice and well-maintained. Breakfast was hot and stayed full. I would go back! read more

Simple yet charming architecture. Very well run, comfortable accommodations. I notice the walls are made out of concrete blocks. Which give you complete privacy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good location, close enough to dainty Fairhope downtown and convenient to eating places. Rooms clean. Pool Clean. Spacious parking lot. Last year my wife and I stayed here. The front desk personnel were terrible. They didn't give us the room we reserved and tried to get us to falsify a document. I stayed at a lot of HI when I worked for the DoD, but never again. I reported them to Guest Relations at corporate. Ms. Reardon, Opns Mgr, promised us a complimentary. I emailed them 3 times for a date and never got a response. Corporate Guest Relations even got involved with the same result. I would rather sleep in my car at a rest stop than stay here again. The only reason they got 1 star is because there isn't a 0 star rating. Don't stay here ever. read more
