My stay at the Hampton Inn Houston downtown was fine. I was traveling for work and the hotel had the amenities I would need for a late night snack or drink. The room was all right, not fancy but no big deal honestly. But I will say is that the breakfast and all of the options were amazing! You could make mini waffles, full-size waffles, fresh oatmeal, fresh yogurt, bar, all of the baked goods, toasted bagels, or English muffins, fresh breakfast meats, eggs, build your own scramble. Checked in on a Sunday as husband and I decided to do a Houston downtown vacation. We decided NOT to valet park as there are several public garages around for less than valet cost. I checked us in while husband went and parked the vehicle. Upon getting to our room we started to relax when I walked into the bathroom area and found water on the counter and the floor. The joint of the water faucet was leaking. We called downstairs and they told us to come down and get keys to a different room. The 2nd room was musky and we could not breathe as the smell was so bad. Finally someone from the front desk came to us and helped us find a nice room. After 3 different rooms we were finally able to get ready to go out and eat and have a few drinks. We had asked for a noon check out but housekeeping started banging on our door at 10am!! FYI, you are not able to stream Netflix or prime on the TV here. This hotel is dated and needs a facelift. This hotel is ok for a short stay as it's average. read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for a tournament at GRB. It is a short walk to the convention center and restaurants. We were accommodated in a corner room, 1101 on the 11th floor. It was nice and quiet and had a nice view. Check-in was a breeze and I loved the small goodie bags they handout to Hilton Honors members. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast. Although there are a lot of parking garages in the area, we decided to do valet with the hotel. For $59 a day, it was not cheap. We were given conflicting information as to how long we can keep our car on valet on the last day so some of us headed to the reception to clarify that and check availability of late checkout(noon). We were told no worries on late checkout and that we had until valet will keep our cars until 11pm with no extra charge on checkout day. I come down the next morning for breakfast before heading to GRB and decided to stop at reception just to make sure everything was in order. Guess what! I get a sorry, we can't accommodate a late checkout and you have until 11am to take your car out or we will charge you $30 from 11am-5pm. Ridiculous! This is the first Hilton property we have stayed at where we were charged extra for parking. We did get a sorry, you were given the wrong info but there's nothing we can do about it. Stayed at the Hampton Inn for a baseball trip. Extremely close proximity to Daiken Park. This hotel is a wonderful experience added to going the Astros game. The bar is open downstairs with a nice seating area and a good experience to pregame before the ballgame. The breakfast is the most surprising about this. I had a wonderful stay here! I didn't expect much prior to coming. Anyways, the rooms were spacious! We had a great view of downtown. The bathroom had plenty of towels and soaps for handwashing and shampoo and body wash. They are super eco friendly by not supplying individual soaps containers, and close to their elevators they have a containers for trash and recycling. I love the pool on the fourth floor, and super comfy lawn chairs. The breakfast was SO MUCH SELECTION. Breakfast taco was bomb! I also had problem with the original blow dryer, but found the housekeeper and she was so sweet and brought me another one up to my room. Shout out to Reginald who checked us out, and stored our bags while we were explored more. He was so friendly and greeted us and the other customers with a smile. Management sucks ass. Don't expect them to do the bare minimum when they infest your stuff with bed bugs from their beds. They won't do anything to ensure you're comfortable despite them being the sole reason for your discomfort and their assurances to make things right. I just wanted a set of non bug infested clothes and for my items affected to be heat treated and they declined it. What do you mean no your location caused these issues? You're better off staying at the best western plus a couple blocks down. Bigger rooms, cheaper, better stocked appliances, and the best part is you won't get bed bugs or a manager who lacks compassion, accountability, and even a slight tinge of care for their guests. read more

Thru no fault of my own the computers were down when I tried to check in 8/23/25 I had a reservation. Thus I was forced to walk across the street and stay at the Marriott. Because of the lateness of the reservation it cost almost $400 more for the one night. When I called customer service and wanted and expected a $400 credit toward future stays since my Hampton reservation was not honored. Kristen the manager there denied my request. Moving forward I am boycotting this multi billion dollar company with no understanding of customer service. read more

The night front desk lady, security guy, and property manager on 9/24/24 are AWESOME. We had an incident where the dead bolt got locked on our room door when we went down to the great bar. The property manager had to come in at 2 AM and unlock it with the master key. To the GM. Your team that night handled business very well. read more

I went to the magic show which was freaking awesome! The problem is the food was not the best. I got a burger that was notcheap ordered it medium rare and you could tell it had been on fire. The old fashions are $20 they are pretty good. read more

Not worth the $180 per night and they can't even have door work properly! 7:30am- I go to use the restroom, slide the shut ... when I go to slide it open, it starts falling!! I tried my best to stop it but it's extremely heavy! It slams to the floor and sounds like a gun going off. Thankfully I only have a bruised knee. I told the front attendant and it sounded like she was trying to comp my stay but I had already pre-paid for the room online so there was nothing she could do except offer me some free snacks. I pre-paid to "save" money but it was still $180 a night. You have the choice to valet your vehicle for $44 but I did not because I shouldn't have to pay for somewhere to park at a hotel that I've already paid to stay the night at. Overall it was a nice stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed minus a microwave. Weirdly the bathroom floor liked to stay wet, not sure what that was about. It's in great waking distance to the Astros stadium which was the nicest part. Not the best or worst area to stay in. Generally felt safe with the surroundings. read more

Upon check in we ask the front desk person if we could check out late. She said that we can check out at 12noon. After the marathon we went up to our room and the keycard was not working. Went back to the front dest and they said our room is lock and we are suppose to check out at 11am. We told her that we were told that we can stay till 12noon and its not even 11am yet. Two elevators working. Twenty minute waits after game in the evening and 10 minutes in the morning. Not allowed to use the status. No towels available. Friendly staff and hot breakfast are the only reasons I am hiding it a 2.:( Rooms at 329 plus 45 for valet came to 459 per night. This is a $150 hotel max. Location is fabulous but the Marriott Grand Marquis is 100 less one block away. Disappointed. read more

This is a great hotel for it's class. It's not the most upscale of spots, but it's conveniently located in downtown Houston, it is unbelievably clean, and totally utilitarian. I would make it my go to spot when going to Houston. I came for a brief couple days meeting and didn't want to fight the traffic or drive in/out from the Austin area. I also didn't want to pay the ginormous fees for the hotel where the meetings were. This absolutely hit the spot. Check in was reasonably quick and the receptionist was very engaged. Tip here - there are two hotels / lodging and they share check-in counters, so go left if there is someone in a different lodging uniform. The room was quiet, dark and exceptionally clean. Not very large at all, but in the middle of downtown and cheap. What more could you ask for in a quick business trip. read more

Comfortable stay, breakfast included, simple and clean accommodation; a little pricey (but that's because it's central downtown with Conv center and Astros' Ballpark across the way); they keep coffee and tea out all day which is a nice perk if you're working or convening at the hotel. Go across the large parking lot and eat at Kulture if you have time. I had an amazing experience there multiple days and nights of my stay. Soul food, jazz on the weekends, amazing foodie flavors, and a cast of servers who make the experience both enjoyable and memorable. Honestly Kulture made my Hampton Stay worth it! read more

Normally not a fan of Hampton Inn chain but this location is one of the best ones. So much to say here. I was charged a total of $1,600 to my credit card for a completely paid for room on ''accident''. They then took almost a week to credit it back after several conversations and false resolutions. The whole place was unprofessional and clueless. The halls smelled of sewer and the rooms were old. Shelves in bathroom falling off wall, random pill on the floor, brown marks on walls. The bed was springy and uncomfortable. I They provided 1 roll of toilet paper, you had to ask for more. The cleanliness was piss poor in general. No lighting in bedroom, very dark. Positives: complimentary breakfast was good, they had potatoes and eggs and gravy and sausage, etc. The valet was quick and efficient. Conveniently locate to Minute Maid Park. It's very hard to not be frustrated with a business that takes your money #1 but then to act cavalier about it and then take DAYS to return it is something that is unforgivable. I have never really been a Hilton fan, this sealed the deal. read more

My boss sprung for the extra's and after having to pay out of pocket after seeing the $3X.XX for parking. We've stayed in the room 817 for one night. It has two major flaws: - Air condition was blowing right into my ear, so I had to switch it off before going to bed. Luckily, room didn't get warm at night, so I slept relatively well - Door to the bathroom has no lock. No problem for adults, but I wouldn't bring kids into this room Also, floor carpet had some stains on it, but I didn't care. I believe it happens in any hotel that isn't new or recently renovated. Everything else met or was above expectations: spacious room, amazing view, powerful iron and hair dryer, good height of the toilet seat, functional fitness room (no squat rack, but I don't expect to find one in a hotel). Breakfast was average, but they had really good grapefruits. Would definitely consider this hotel for the next trip to Houston read more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Houston Downtown while in town to run the Chevron Houston Marathon. I was very pleased with the hotel. It was very clean, the rooms were very spacious,the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the location is great for the race. It is also very close to Minute Maid Park. The room had a very comfortable bed and pillows, a nice HD television, mini-fridge, and safe. The A/C worked very well. The internet was reliable and fast. The hotel is also very close to the George R. Brown Convention center. The building is shared with Homewood Suites but they appeared to be seamlessly one Hilton branded hotel. There is also a Catholic church across the street if you are Catholic and need to attend mass. The breakfast was also good, typical of Hampton. The hotel was very accommodating for the runners running the races. They gave us water upon arriving, had a to-go breakfast for the runners, and let us have late check-outs until 1:00 PM on race day. Only knock down from 5 stars is the valet parking is steep at $30 per night. I decided to park at a private lot behind the hotel (at La Branch and Rusk streets). I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are running the race or need to be near the convention center or baseball stadium. read more

So picture this - you've spent a morning going Pokémon HAM in Discovery Green, and you're about to pass out from heat exhaustion because it's Houston. You're hoping to find some water so you drop in to your local Hampton Inn. Fair enough. You find a bottle of delicious Smart Water and get ready to pay. This is were the shakedown begins. The employee asks you for $6.50. You reply with a resounding "WHAT?!?!". Without batting an eye the employee responds with "$6.50". Fortunately you have no children so the employee doesn't ask for your first born. You were also smart enough to hide your phone, otherwise they would demand 100 poke balls along with the 6.50. No, they don't take financing for water. I'm pretty sure they will punch you in the face if you mention an EBT card. You sheepishly exit the building, hoping to not run into any Sopranos types who might shake you down during your escape. Don't expect a thank you for your patronage either. Stayed for 2 nights here the good, The staff was very friendly everyone we encountered was super kind, and breakfast was good, and what you would expect. but for the price, the rooms were just depressing. The decor was minimal, dark, the bed was not very comfy and the tx had a 2 min lag to hit any channel, most were in Spanish. The tvs were also just sitting on the night stand, so you had to sit up to watch them. The water pressure was low in the shower and There was a weird odor in our room, the carpet looked extra dingy and old. We avoided our room as much as we could,it was awful. Also, there was no fresh coffee after breakfast which was disappointing. One more thing, valet is 44 per night overnight. and the across the street pay to park is 30 dollars and it's unprotected. It seemed like a sketchy part of Houston, as the stadium is right there, there is a huge homeless camp, complete with bonfires next to it. I would have paid a couple hundred dollars more to stay somewhere else. read more

Absolutely loved my stay here. I reserved a room here for the weekend of Day for Night festival at The Old USPS office downtown. Our room was very comfortable. Our room was spaciaious and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable These are my positive experiences here: - usb and plugs built into bedside table - room were quiet, I heard very little noise - blackout curtains we're excellent, but there were multiple curtain options in case you want just a little light to shine in - breakfast was substantial and included eggs and good coffee (a must for my family) - water in shower got warm very fast, no waiting - lots of toiletries available for purchase in lobby (deodorant was available and this is the #1 item I typically forget to bring) - toiletries available in room wee good quality - customer service at the front desk was always nice and helpful If there's a choice between this and the another HI initialed hotel nearby your money is MUCH better spent here (I've stayed at both). read more

Not a 5 star hotel by any means but comfortable and clean. This Hampton Inn shares the space with Homewood suites. I stayed for a short weekend trip to see the Rockets Basketball game which is less than a half mile down the street. Discovery Green was nearby and we couldn't really enjoy seeing it given the Houston Marathon was that weekend. The hotel smelled so inviting each time we walked in. Whatever they spray, pump in the vents or burn smells fresh and clean. The rooms were roomy and clean. We had a room facing the street and heard everything from the discovery green events going on. If you want some rest, stay away from this area or check the schedule for events. As mentioned it was a 5k on Saturday and the marathon on Sunday. The valet parking was quick and easy but fairly priced for the city and in and out privileges. Chicago and NYC will set you back financially with their price. Ha. There is a public parking lot across the street but not sure they allow overnight parking. The valet made us call each time we wanted out vehicle. Why not text? Easier but ok. The hotel along with around the city hosted a graffiti art wall. There were a lot of people taking pictures using the backdrop. Overall, a nice place to stay near everything midtown downtown and I wouldn't stay here next time because I want to explore other hotels in the area. read more

I stayed in the Hampton Inn Houston Downtown for a business trip and was really pleasantly surprised how nice it was. It should be noted that this location has both a Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites, but brands itself as the Hampton Inn (and on Yelp as well). So for those who get confused, don't be. The front desk is the same and the building is split in half. ROOM: To clinch a 14th room floor, you get a nice view of downtown Houston on the top floor. The room was impeccable and the king bed was good. My only downside of the room is the pillow firmness is a bit off. My feedback is that there should be more variety in pillow firmness to give the customer more choice. Besides that, the room was tastefully decorated. SERVICE: Very positive! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from check-in to check-out. Luckily, since my departure was later and I wanted to hold on the room, they let me do a later check out time until 1:00 PM, which was greatly appreciated. The room was made every day without any issues! Overall, the location is pretty nice. Located to Discovery Green and Minute Maid Park, it was actually nice to run around the green space (I take what I can in downtown Houston). read more

Like the hotel and it's location. It's very close to discovery green the popular park here. They could improve on their breakfast ( not just the menu but also taste). Bakery items were really good but waffle batter was the worst and then fruits were not getting filled on time. They should have eggs to order just to have variety and ensure everyone gets hot eggs. My fiancé and I checked in on Friday for just the weekend stay. When we walked into our room, the first thing I like to try out is the bed. It was horrible, pillows were horrible, bed was not comfortable at all, the pillows were not comfortable either. The first night we slept was the worst, the AC did not work. It was stuffy and hot. We decided to go grab dinner, on the way down, the elevator gets stuck. I literally started yelling, I rang the emergency button, I called for help and nothing. It was hot and stuffy in the elevator and I started to get a panic attack. My fiancé helped me relax, he kept hitting buttons and eventually it worked and the elevator door opened. First thing I did, besides catching my breath and holding back my tears, was let the front desk know. It was a gentleman man, I explained what happened and all he said was "we will look into it" ... next, our TV remote was not working, we had to call front desk to come fix it. I called and that phone rang rang and then rang some more. Eventually they fixed the TV. I decided to call the front desk the day we we're leaving to let them know as a courtesy we were checking out, lol of course no answer. Honestly, this was the worst place I've stayed at. Never again.
