This place is an absolute dump, and the management running it is completely corrupt. The rooms are repulsive--mine reeked so strongly of old, stale urine that I literally had to go out and buy my own room spray just to breathe. But as awful as the physical condition is, the manager's shady, unhinged behavior is a hundred times worse. When I checked out, she blatantly tried to steal my deposit, claiming the bathroom smelled like smoke while admitting the rest of the room didn't. I NEVER smoked inside. I went outside to the table every single time, which she could have easily verified on her security cameras. I even kept a cup on the windowsill for my cigarette butts so I wouldn't litter. When I demanded to see her supposed "proof," she had nothing to show because it was a total lie cooked up to pocket my cash. The sheer hypocrisy was unbelievable. Right before confronting me, she was locked in a room with some guy, and when they both walked out, they stunk like marijuana. Yet she had the nerve to threaten to call the police on me simply because I was calling out her pathetic attempt to steal my money! I ended up having to track down and call the owner just to get my own money back. When she was finally forced to hand over my deposit, she threw the money directly at me like a trashy, hostile child. To top it all off, the owner tried to play dumb, telling me he "doesn't work there." Just because your last name is Duke and you own a multimillion-dollar operation in Lawrence County, Tennessee, does not mean you're entitled to steal from customers and treat people like garbage. Filthy rooms, thief management, and zero accountability. Avoid this place like the plague.

The Villa Inn is probably the best of them... but be prepared... it *ain't* The Hilton. Look, get your head straight. It's an inexpensive road motel, so just DON'T expect it to be more than that. Let's look at it from THAT point of view, and from THAT point of view, y'know... it's NOT a bad place to rest your bones for a night or a week. The location is very convenient, being directly across the street from the Richland Inn, and right next door to a movie theatre, WalMart, and Shoney's restaurant. There's a surprisingly wide selection of restaurants in Lawrenceburg. It's not for everyone, but I loved the coziness of the room. The price was more than fair, and next to the office they provide a lovely and open sunroom for your continental breakfast, which is fresh and filling each morning. The front-desk-staff I encountered were warm, friendly, and helpful. (I loved the large pet turtle behind the counter!) The cleaning staff I encountered were just as helpful and followed my instructions with no issues. There is a swimming pool on premises, but it is not working. That seems to be a common thing, as none of the area motels have working pools. (Hey! Lawrenceburg hotels -- fix your swimming pools!!! Get 'em working!!!) The parking lot was well-lit at night and felt safe to walk through. The grounds were clean and well-manicured. The room itself was good, if not great. The queen bed was stiff, but comfortable and there were no issues with the shower/tub/toilet. The sink/vanity area was comfortable and easy to use. It included the little coffee machine, hair dryer, clothes hangers, clothes iron, and ironing board. A writing desk was appreciated and the flat-screen TV on top of the dresser worked very well. An overstuffed armchair and ottoman rounded-out the room's features. Your experience might be a little better than mine, or maybe even a little worse, but if you're passing through Lawrenceburg and looking for an inexpensive, comfortable, no-frills motel, The Villa Inn is the spot to choose.
