Elevator speed/availability-5-Really quick and readily available. Gym/pool-5-The gym was great, all the cardio machines and weights you need for a legit workout, and it's open 24/7. It's on the 2nd floor FYI. Restaurant-5-I actually ate here three times, twice for dinner and once for breakfast. I recommend the employee burger (not on the menu) for a quick meal and the pork chop with blackberry moonshine sauce for dinner-it was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very nice. I stayed in a room on the 8th floor near the Executive Lounge (815 perhaps?). The executive lounge was very nice and offered a good selection of hot and cold breakfast food in the morning. It also had a really nice, large patio with a great view. The room was very spacious, clean, and modern, however the air flow in the room wasn't the best, which I think caused the room to have a stale/mildew oder. I smelled it constantly while in the room, even while I tried to sleep and as soon as I woke up in the morning. I should have asked to be moved to a different room, but I opted not to, thinking that every other room in the hotel might smell that way. I asked 2 colleagues also staying there for a work trip we were all on, if they also had the smell in their rooms and they both said no. I think it was just my room, and also maybe tied to the A/C fan not being at full blast when I tried to adjust it. Still, this was a very nice, updated, and clean hotel and I would stay here again, just not in room 815.

There's even a fantastic snack counter off to the left of the front desk! The bar opens at 4:00pm and Jeff The Bartender makes one of the best Whiskey Sours I ever had. The room itself is big, with a sitting area and even a walk-in closet that can almost be its own room! The bathroom is spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The bed was soft ... but not TOO soft ... which is a good thing. Excellent staff here, and a most welcome introduction to the famous Southern Hospitality I've heard so much about. My room did have weird smells- first a dank perfume odor followed by fried food left out too long odors. Location is okay- there are a few restaurants within walking distance but it seemed there are more happening areas a short drive away. Breakfast was pretty good for free hotel food (shout out to the friendly breakfast lady)! All in all, it's not a bad place to crash for a night or two. I'd probably try somewhere else next time that felt newer and nicer but wouldn't be against staying here. One draw back during my stay was that there was a youth hockey team(s) staying here. For some reason their parents thought it was acceptable for the kids to setup nets and play hockey in the hallways in the evening. Bad parenting but can't really fault the hotel for that.

The hotel itself was excellent--clean, comfortable, and welcoming--but what really made the visit special was the location. There were plenty of activities for both families and adults. A popular ice cream shop was just steps away, along with a beautiful green space where kids could run and play. I also discovered a great spot called Tony's Place, perfect for grabbing a delicious sandwich and a cold beer.
