I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Georgetown on April 11 after a long day of showing properties, and by that evening I was hit with a severe migraine that left me almost incapacitated the next day. When I called to extend my stay, Samantha at the front desk stepped in--and what she did next was extraordinary. She helped calm my worried sister, directed us to nearby medical care, checked on me throughout the day, and made sure the next shift knew exactly what was going on. In all my years of traveling, I have never experienced this level of care. Samantha wasn't just doing her job--she showed genuine compassion in a moment I truly needed it. She is an outstanding asset to Hampton and the Hilton brand. Because of her, I won't stay anywhere else. Recognize her. Reward her. She absolutely deserves a raise. read more

A BIG thank you to the breakfast room person at this Hampton! Many of them are hesitant to refill any of the hot food when getting close to the end of the breakfast time. In this case, at about 15 minutes to the closing time, I was grabbing a plate of bacon to take up to the room for my daughter, and took the last of the bacon. I mentioned to the breakfast room attendant that Katie hadn't seen bacon at any of our previous hotels on this trip, so I was sure she'd be thrilled with it. I then mentioned I'd be back down to get my breakfast in a moment. She checked the bacon, saw it was out, and asked if I'd like some. When I got back down to the breakfast room about 5 minutes later, she told me fresh bacon would be out in a couple minutes. It actually was ready right about the same time as my waffle, so perfect timing! Many of the breakfast rooms also slam their doors shut immediately at the closing time, even if the area is still busy. There were a couple of people in the area at closing time, but she left the doors open a bit later than the scheduled close. That kind of help to vacationing families is very much appreciated! We were headed down south of Ohio en route to Chattanooga. We both had to work so we got a late start in the day. Never intending to drive the whole way, we started out with the plan to find a hotel after we started and better understood when we would need to stop for the night. About an hour in, my hubby declared he could go another 1.5-2 hours. He targeted Lexington and I opted for the north side. Using the Yelp app, I found hotels in the desired area. Hubby wanted Hampton Inn close to 75 - and BAM - Hampton Inn Georgetown-Lexington was right where we needed it to be. I clicked through Yelp to the Hampton Inn website and proceeded to book our room. We made good time and got there around 9 AM. Check in was super simple and quick. We grabbed our free waters as Rewards Members and could have snagged coffee and/or apples/bananas. Not needing either, we went to our room. As promised online, it had 2 double beds (we both snore and need as much space between us as possible), TV, fridge, coffee maker, etc. Since we would get to bed late, our goal was to hit the road by 9 AM the next day. Hubby would shower first so I scoped out the "fitness center." Boy was it a let down. 1 elliptical and 1 treadmill. A few yoga mats and medicine balls. And barely any free room to workout. No dumbbells (which I prefer) and definitely no enough for me to do a HIIT session. The good news - hubby did not get up when alarm went off - so I couldn't work out in the room. And I didn't want to try to squeeze in between the exercise machines in the "fitness center." So I enjoyed a leisurely morning. We hit the complimentary breakfast which was totally standard - nothing special. For me, apples and bananas and 1 type of yogurt. I passed on all and enjoyed the hot coffee. They had the usual waffle iron but hubby opted for scrambled eggs and bacon. They had assorted breads and rolls, juice and I'm sure a few other things I'm missing. Check out was again, seamless. I saw our receipt had already been emailed so hubby just left the keys cards on the check in counter and we left. For a 12 hour stay - it was fine. For a longer stay I would not have been happy - wanting fresh fruit for breakfast and more of a real "fitness center." But staff was friendly and beds were comfortable. Room was clean and TV worked. I just wish I would slept better! read more

Unfortunately I had to give at least one star. If I was just rating the receptionist it would have been a 5 star. They were great. The room was horrible. The bed was half horrible. The carpet felt weird under foot and the dirty grout in the bathroom full of unknown substances. This place is an embarrassment to the chain. I did a survey and one question it asked was did I report any issues. I said no. What could they do to fix these issues? Nothing but bring a remodeling and cleaning crew in. We left a day early .We were done. I would not go back unless they did a remodel. The breakfast was descent but I could not get a good size waffle no matter.how many times I tried. I make a mean waffle but that one's starts beeping really loud when it should cook a little longer to get that fluffy inside and good crunchy outside. I couldn't get it. Coffee was good . read more

You know me- I travel a LOT- and I like to stay at the Hampton Inn. For the most part, they are very clean, a reasonable price- and friendly. Tonight I was traveling from Michigan to Florida, and so I had my husband call in a reservation. He told them I'm interested in the veterans discount- and I also have an ESA. When I arrived, the front desk asked me if my husband was behind me- I said no. She then asked if he was coming in later- I said no, he's in Michigan. She kept asking his whereabouts.. I'm assuming she thought he was the veteran? Seriously, this is 2017. My daughter is in the Air Force too! Then she asked what disability is my dog supporting? I said she's an emotional support animal. Is that legal? She said I can't plan on leaving her in the room alone. Ummm, I wasn't? I said I'm going straight to bed and then leaving the next morning. I knew she was giving me stank eye, so I gladly gave her my "legal papers" and DAV card as proof that not only can women be veterans, but I'm also not a dirtbag who's just trying to get my dog in the hotel just for fun. The room... is very dated- all the reviews on here talk of remodeled rooms- guess who didn't get one? On a Monday night- with the parking lot half full.... The bathroom was the worst part. There's no ventilation, and the ceiling had obvious water damage. Half of the grout in the floor is missing! The tub had a huge hairball in the drain, so the shower wouldn't drain, and it was all cracked and rusty. I put a dollar in the vending machine and it gave me a quarter back but didn't give me a water. I pressed all the buttons, and still nothing. On a good note, the bed was comfy. Do not stay here- it's a gamble- you could get a remodeled room that others have spoken of- or you could get a room like I have- room 421. Ugh. read more

We normally love Hampton Inns, so that's why we chose to stay here. However, the manager is the rudest person we've ever dealt with. She completely ruined our trip with her hateful attitude. The place is very dated and in need of some serious maintenance and repairs. The shower is falling apart and moldy and the bathroom ceiling is peeling and cracking. The towels stink! What in the world?? The microwave is junky but at least there is one. The security latch is falling off the door! We could have overlooked all that if it weren't for the horrible manager. The people that work at the front desk are nice though and the room is fairly spacious and in a good location. We would never EVER recommend this place to any of our friends. read more

Really nice hotel, and a great location if you're visiting the Horse Park. It sounded like they are refurbishing some of the rooms. Our room has two queen beds, which were very nice. The room also had a mini fridge and a microwave, which was very handy. It had a decent work out room which we never used. It did have an indoor pool and a hot tub-which we did use every day. High marks for the hot tub! It had a free breakfast every day which was pretty good by free breakfast standards. A nice touch was they set out little snacks in the morning which you could grab on your way out. It was things like a granola bar, trail mix, and fresh fruit. They also had free bottled water. Another fast trip to the South and Kentucky was the lucky winner. I arrived late... very late. But the room was the standard expectation of my tired mind. There was a smiling face behind the desk, the room was nice and cold and the bed was soft... 'nuff said. "The Good" - The staff met me and said goodbye to me with a smile, that keeps me coming back. - The room was clean and the standard Hampton set up. - Well lit parking lot, I noticed this driving in after midnight. - Free breakfast was available but bypassed for the to-go bag. The bathroom shower head doesn't pivot, actually loose from the wall, shower curtain doesn't cover entire shower opening so floor gets wet and you have to sacrifice your towel to dry up water from the floor, tub was dirty and rust stained. Took me 5 minutes to figure out the knob for the water adjustment, barely on is actually scolding hot n all the way is Arctic cold. read more

We stayed here while visiting the Ark Encounter; always choosing Hampton's when traveling, but this one was not up to standard. The luggage carts are a joke now, staff unfriendly, our room was dirty. The carpets need to be replaced badly. Our room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed with drinking straw and gum wrappers on the floor. I only received one bar of soap so had to share it between the shower and the sink. Lampshades are cracked and wallpaper is peeling. But the biggest complaint I have is the ac unit. It's filthy! We had it turned up all the way as cold as we could make it and I was still sweating last night, as if we had no cold air. The filter is so dirty and clogged no air can even get thru it. This hotel is badly in need of an upgrade. No cardless entry (one key card never did work) and no mobil check in. Breakfast was just ok. One positive was the location. With many choices in this area I would not choose this one. If you're usually a loyal Hampton patron you should consider a change while visiting here. read more

First rate property! 5 Stars For the price and type of accommodation, this place gets 5 stars. We came for an event at the horse park and stayed for 5 days. We had a double queen room that was recently renovated and had a dorm-size fridge, a microwave, and in-room coffee. The staff were all super friendly and the property was clean and well-managed. No pets, no smoking, and no funky air freshener smells made for nice air quality --much appreciated! The complimentary breakfast was pretty darn good for the price :-). I really appreciate them having Raisin Bran out every day, and most days they had an interesting hot offering like bagel toppers. Of course they had waffles too! Our last day they had a really nice fruit medley with raspberries... perfect waffle topper. Couple of nice touches that raised a 4 star review to a 5 were (1) that they had coffee air pots, with really good "robust" coffee out round the clock and (2) they had snacks and water out in the morning for those of us heading to a long day at the horse park-- also much appreciated! read more

I've waited a week to write this, just so I would have a chance to cool down. We did have reservations but did not stay the night. One reason only, the woman at the front counter. Not being from Kentucky I was not aware that there was a mandatory mask law in place. However, the counter person didn't care and promptly notified me that If she saw me again without a mask she would call the police on me. I found out later that the police can't enforce the mask law. I immediately withdrew my reservation and asked for a refund, which she pretended to do. She didn't and I had to contact Hotels.com to get the refund a few days later. read more

Needed a one night stop and found this gem. Check in was smooth and desk attendant very friendly/ helpful. Rooms updated and clean; beds comfortable. AC works great. Gym needs an air freshener and maintenance to treadmill. Breakfast had a few healthier options than most continental ones. Would definitely return if ever in the area again. read more

My first stay here is on business & I'm pleased. This is a somewhat smaller Hampton than others I've stayed in, not that it's a problem. They have a nice indoor pool and hot tub (although the hot tub is currently closed for refacing, bummer). I usually stay at Hampton Inns to get the included breakfast - this one is fine but certainly nothing spectacular. It's to be expected, but seeing the scrambled eggs dumped out of a microwave bag into the buffet kinda ruined for me! I stuck with the oatmeal, cereal, coffee, and fruit. So I guess the breakfast isn't that great but it's not the worst I've had either. My only real issue is with the bed....hard as a rock (not my style). Another bonus here is that they have bottles of water & apples at the front desk, free for the taking. They also have cookies each evening (I never tried them but they looked good). A few tips: avoid the 4th floor....it's smoking and has that odor. I also guess it's no big surprise but this place is right on the interstate, so if that bothers you, you better find somewhere else! I might stay here again the next time I return to Georgetown, but I also might try the Hilton Garden Inn right down the street. read more

On the whole, I always love Hampton Inns. The people on duty were all so sweet. My complaints are the shower above me leaked so badly that I was grateful that I had finished my shower before their shower rained down over my entire bathroom. Truly, it was so bad that I fear for the structural integrity. I'm loyal to the Hampton Inn brand- staying in another property tonight, but this property needs a lot of maintenance! We had a lovely stay. Bedding was clean and fresh, room updated. Staff had plastic between us when we checked in. We found the top sheet was too short and hubby and fought over it in our sleep so we could stay covered up. Hotel is very clean and neat. Beds are comfortable. The biggest disappointment was that we chose this location based on their 'pet friendly" rating. After checking in and having our card charged, the next time we came down to take our dog (18 pound Havanese) for a walk, we were told we could not use the main lobby doors with him, we needed to use the other doors. We have never had this "go to the back of the bus" treatment before. If you have a pet, stay away. If you don't, it's probably okay. read more

My mom and I had car trouble on our return trip from Tennessee back to Minnesota in October of 2015 and ended up 'stuck' without a car. Very stressful and anxious week and the only thing that made an awful trip home bearable was this hotel. I can't even begin to tell potential visitors about ALL the wonderful staff. We stayed here for one night after driving from Florida to meet up with friends. It was a harrowing drive during a bitter cold week, coming out of an ice storm in Georgia. I was notified by text that I had been accepted as an online teacher, but needed to upload a contract and some other documents in order to complete the process. Not being the most technologically saavy, I needed some assistance. K.T. at the front desk was so amazingly helpful and so very accommodating. Booked a king room directly with hotel two hours before arriving..... Had no regular king room when we got there. Offered us a handicap room, no biggie but..... Smelled like cigarettes and musty. We stayed for one night on an extended driving trip, and after 3 other hotels (Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, and another Hampton) that week, I can say this one stands out as better than the rest. We showed up with no reservation or plan, no problem. The room - we had a king #124 on the first floor, with microwave, refrigerator, and a little coffee maker but really, so much easier to run just down to the lobby for the 24/7 coffee bar. Everything was clean and fresh, although someone did over-do the scented freshener but that dissipated with time. We did also have a large bright flood light just outside the window, but once we closed the darkening curtains it was manageable. Soft sheets, 4 pillows, comforter - multiple outlets to get all the devices recharged at the desk, generous closet space, and best of all a separate easy chair. Television, good flat screen but Direct TV has more limitations, like no golf channel. Food - well done, from the welcoming warm chocolate chip cookies and granola service in the lobby, to the assorted breakfast choices in the morning. Breakfast included mini-omelettes, sausages, hot oatmeal with several choices to add like raisins and brown sugar, and a big variety of cereals, bakery, and toast choices. Best of all in my book was some incredible poppy seed bread. Location - extremely convenient access from I-75, just off the access road. Next door is Fazoli's, easy to walk to for a quick Italian meal. read more

Stayed here for business and the staff was friendly enough. The room was okay. When I got out of the shower in the morning, there was a giant roach in my bathroom. I then noticed about half a dozen of them in the overhead light. I packed up quick and went downstairs. I talked to the manager on duty and they were able to switch my room from a king to a double (only room available) but this new room smelled musty and smokey, and the fridge wasn't turned on when I got in. If I weren't staying for business, I would probably find a different hotel. read more

We usually enjoy staying at Hampton Inn's. They're always clean, which is a huge deal for me. This one, however, not so much. We check in, get to our room, and begin to get settled. When I pull back the bedsheets, I notice there is an obscenely large hairball in the middle of the bed. Definitely creeped out by it, I take a tissue and throw it away. Whatever. The next morning, I get up and go take a shower. Again. There's another hairball against the shower wall as well as a few black, wiry, short hairs. Next evening, I again go to pull back my sheets, and there's more hair in my bed! I'm not sure if you have some ape-like Sasquatch washing my sheets, but please make it stop because they're shedding everywhere. Disgusting. I also noticed that when we went to the pool one morning, the water was FREEZING! (And I'm from Michigan where our pools never get above 65, so that's really saying something). The temp said it was 78, but there's absolutely no way it was. Even the hot tub wasn't very hot. Other than the constant hair and the cold pool, the staff was extremely friendly, the warm cookies were a delicious touch, and the breakfast area was always clean and well stocked. (Although I say it for all Hamptons I stay at, get an additional waffle maker! One morning I had a lady in front of me that made 3 waffles all for herself. An additional one would've at least cut my wait time.). If I stayed in this area again, I'd probably try to find a different Hampton Inn to stay in. read more

We are out visiting Kentucky and booked two rooms, first impression was very nice the foyer area was beautiful. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Wish the guy checking us in had explained the bed system to us. The bed had a hidden control to adjust the bed we never found and the sleep was awful. The evening staff was outstanding and told us where to eat.and they were right on with the spot. read more
