I am a Hilton's Honors Gold member, but this staff made me feel like I was a bona fide Diamond status member. The eggs provided with breakfast were hard-boiled, not raw. You cannot drink them. I've seldom felt a lotion as smooth as the free ones provided. I wish I could buy it in bulk. I felt a strange sense of Deja Vu after check-in. Have I been here before? What was my purpose? Have I seen this episode of Family Feud? I don't care, Steve Harvey is hilarious. I rate the Lima, Ohio Hampton Inn five stars. read more

I stay at Hilton properties quite a bit due to work travel. The price/value ratio and expense reimbursement policies lead me Hampton Inn quite often. The Lima Hampton Inn is one of the best in the chain. The ownership/management/staff team here have the formula down. Extremely clean, very well maintained, accommodating/friendly/extremely competent staff do an outstanding job. The pool, hot tub and fitness center (the latter a bit small) are all impeccably maintained. We've been to other Hampton Inns where the management/ownership were very poor. This Hampton Inn is one of the best. It is also a very short walk to Texas Road House, Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, and Olive Garden - which are about as fancy as you're going to get in these here parts Heartily recommend! read more

I stayed at this Hampton Inn a month ago because... ehhh just wanted to. I was planning on staying out way late one night and was planning on imbibing a number of adult beverages. Lima is about an hour away from my house and some of the roads going to my house are very rural and the lighting could be a lot better. Just thought it best not to risk it. So this was pretty much just a place to sleep. The room was inviting, the bed was comfortable. Pretty much its all I needed. That said, i noticed this place has a nice breakfast area and a great indoor pool. If i would have stayed longer, i would have certainly used them. Another perk, is the Diamond Member parking at the very front of the hotel. As a Hilton Diamond Member, that is certainly convenient. Enjoyed my stay, got the zzz i needed. read more

In the morning (11/12/2020) before leaving for work I found a bed bug crawling on my pillow. I called and informed staff when I got to work. The staff had Lisa (the manager) call me back when she got to work. Lisa asked what happened and I explained what I found. She said they searched my room and found 2 bed bugs. (Remember this number, lol) She then asked me multiple times and pushed multiple times for the hotel staff to clear my belongings out of the room and for them to clean my stuff. I rejected multiple times and said I would like to be the one to handle my clothes and give them to staff to wash. Eventually she ceded. She then began to grill me asking me where I was before I came to the Hampton Inn. I stated I was at my apartment. She then asked where I was before that, I stated that I was at the same Hampton Inn last week. She then asked me where I worked. I told her where I worked, a plasma donation center, and she told me that hospitals have bed bugs all the time. I stated that I don't work at a hospital, she then stated that it was close enough and that even doctors bring bed bugs in. (She was basically trying to explain it away as if I brought the bed bugs in - you will understand why I wasn't the one who brought them in) Lisa stated that the room was a mess and that they sprayed. She stated the sheets were everywhere. That's fine. When I got to my room after work I found not 2 bed bugs like Lisa had lied and said to me over the phone. I found a minimum of 23 bed bugs just at the head of the bed. I found at least 2 on my blanket. The room was infested. Basically she tried to push me into not entering the room multiple times, lied to me about the number of bugs they found, and tried to pass it off on me as if it came from my work and as if I brought the bugs in...and tried to search for a reason in my location history to place blame for the 2 bed bugs they found. Lmao. (2 x 11) + 1. (23 total minimum) I understand hotels are a business, but lying isn't cute and doesn't retain customers. Trying to protect the hotel by lying will backfire. I have photos and video of the infested room. :) Try and tell me there were 2 bed bugs. And don't try to tell me there were only 2 bed bugs visible, when I entered the room there were at least 10 bed bugs visible at the head of the bed with how they left the mattress. I'm honestly disgusted. You know what would have been better? Just telling the fucking truth about how many bugs were actually there and not trying to imply that I was the one who brought the bugs in. That's actual business and leadership. I respect that, I don't respect what Lisa did. I don't really care how bad it is - just tell the truth. Oh, and the pubes lmao. Who cleans? Not sure what cleaning or checking is actually done regarding the bed because the bed was infested with bed bugs. This should have been caught by housecleaning, correct? Under the mattress there were hairs and pubic hairs. (Again, they are seen in the video of the bed) read more

I want to preface this by saying that the staff was great. Yet, If i could give the amenities 0 stars i would. TV is absolutely ridiculously limited. They got rid of the actual TV remote and provide the one in the picture instead.. i called and said they dont have any other remotes. They are either lying or they threw them away. Absolutely, stupid. They are literally shooting themselves in the foot. Every other minute, the screen dims and you literally cannot see what you are watching or playing. There is no way to deal with this without having the actual TV remote. Im guessing the TV is on some sort of energy saver mode. The wifi is horrible. They capped the Ethernet outlet so that you cant use it. Cheap, nickel and dime, jerks. The hotel gym is stupid. It is there to accommodate 80 year old women exclusively. Honestly, if all Hampton Inns have the same TV situation i WILL NOT be back for that reason alone. If a corporate member reads this, understand that these things wont cost you anything extra so why not just keep the remote and leave the Ethernet outlet open. It can only benefit the experience of your guests. read more

This is an good, well-run Hampton Inn. As a Diamond, I stay in a lot of Hilton properties. This is a pretty typical run of the mill location. The good: -Reserved room has always been ready upon arrival -Breakfast is decent enough to survive on until lunch -Plenty of TV channels -Beds are pretty comfortable -Sheets are always clean -Plenty of free parking -Walking distance (basically across the street) from Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel. No need to stress about finding supper. -Soda machines are on each floor, and well stocked -Elevators are reliable -Stairwell is kept really clean The not so good: -There is an odd pungent odor in some of the rooms and hallways, especially on the 4th floor -Breakfast is extremely inconsistent. Some mornings they have sausage, while other mornings you are going to find biscuits and gravy (carb overload) as the main feature. Also, the "fresh fruit" is borderline nasty....definitely not fresh. The OJ is concentrated, and the coffee is really bland. The Courtyard does a much better job at breakfast service. Overall, I recommend this hotel if staying in Lima, OH. It is pretty much the best option when staying in the area. read more

This hotel was recently built right off of I-75 in Lima. It is very nice and has plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is an indoor pool, the rooms are spacious and clean. Most come with a microwave and mini fridge. Like all Hampton's, hot breakfast is also available, which is always and upside for me. read more

I stayed here while I was in Lima for work. The location is right off the highway and is close to a few restaurants (Cracker Barrel, a sports pub, Olive Garden, Panera). There are a couple other hotels adjacent but the Hampton seems to be the nicest and even though it is an older property, it has been renovated in recent years. Staff was great - very friendly and efficient. Room was fine as well. The breakfast area is a little small but I never eat breakfast at Hamptons, so no big deal for me. Pro-tips: Diamond parking available at front but fills up quickly. Once you have your key, you're better off parking in the back where the entrance brings you right to the elevator. The overall stay was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. My only reason for not giving a 5 was the fact the shower was clogged after one shower. My boyfriend took a shower right after which made it clogged again. We had gone out to dinner and came back and it still hadn't gone down. When we got back the toilet then clogged and not to be too vulgar, but I didn't even go #2! Since it was late the front desk did bring a plunger as the maintenance crew was out for the evening but they were willing to move us to another room or bring me a plunger which was very much appreciated. Breakfast in the morning was great as usual as I've stayed at many Hampton inns in the past. The lady serving was very sweet and could tell she put in a lot of effort into her job by making sure everything was filled back up. Overall great stay and would stay again if I'm ever back in the area! read more

Typical "old design" Hampton. Clean and comfortable but I have an issue that may or may not be a factor for others. The design of this hotel is annoying in that you have very little natural light in the rooms. One small window that provides a very limited view. They try to minimize the effect by putting big heavy drapes that cover the entire wall. I guess the drapes are supposed to be more appealing than the big wall and small window. I would like to see the cells at the correctional facility up the road a bit. My guess is their window is bigger than the one in these rooms. I did ask for another room but was in formed that "they are all the same." ..... just like the correctional facility up the road.... read more

I always choose Hampton Inn for the clean sheets and duvets. The bed feels fresh and clean and is always comfortable. Customer service is always amazing and this location is no exception. We did have one issue with the air conditioning and heating unit in our room and I just mentioned it to the front desk manager and she took care of it right away with no problem. This staff love their job and take great care of the guests. The facilities are nice and more than good with indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are good size, bathroom too. Tile flooring and granite counter top also in the bathroom. Showers in the room have good pressure and nice shower head that are Easy to use. Mini Fridge and good climate control in room, that's about all I can say. I have been here a few times and always had a pleasant stay. This stay was better and the staff were so nice I had to write this review. read more

We needed to be in Lima on New Year's Eve to watch our youngest son play with the Lima Symphony. I had only been past Lima and wasn't super familiar with the area. I searched for hotels (we weren't driving back to Delaware, Ohio on "amateur" night) and this one was the highest rated one and I can see why. The staff there couldn't have been more friendly and helpful (the poor front desk rep had worked the night before and was still there in the morning, with a smile on her face!), the room was clean, our floor was quiet (which was a surprise on New Year's Eve) and the breakfast was unbelievable, It was one of the best continental breakfasts we have ever had. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the Lima area. read more

Drove from Myrtle Beach and needed to rest. Well everything went well until 8am when the kids opened up like a screaming match,holy loud, we thought it was the people next to us but when we went into the hall nothing so I went to the front desk and found that if you stay in room216 the pool sit right below and it's like those screaming little rascals are on your bed yelling in your ear.Talked to the lady and she said there is nothing they can do. I said it's a place to sleep not to swim so change the pool hours to 9:30am she said they don't listen to her(The Manager) but after reading there book they said if we are not happy we don't pay well that is a load of crap.So if you stay don't stay on the 2nd floor or hope kids are not swimming so you can sleep.Thanks Todd read more

The front desk and general manager at this hotel was awful. They cancelled our reservation with out calling to confirmation first before selling to another guest. They made every excuse of why they did it and in reality just over booked and sold my room because we had a late check in..someone made an error and they were trying to cover their butt. You can not book a reservation without contact information so them saying they didn't have a contact to call is bogus. Now this morning the general manager is telling me they did have a contact name in the system at one time but didn't call it because it was 9:00 at night. We were very upset and angry that this happen and they didn't even offer a discount or anything on the other three rooms we had with our group. Then on my way out I hear the front desk discussing it with another guest in the hotel. Very unprofessional. Needless to say I will never be staying there again! read more

Stayed here this week for a work trip and was very unimpressed. The location is great; right off the interstate and essentially share the parking lot with a wing joint and roadhouse. Our issue wasn't with the service or food (continental breakfast is really never good); the staff was always very friendly and cordial. However, I slept almost three hours each night - the thermostat/cooling system was broken. I was so desperate as to turn it down to 60 (as low as it would go) and still woke up sweating - the room temp was still 72. The pillows and bed in general were very uncomfortable. That may be personal preference, but they were hard as a rock. The shower was either scorching hot or cold, there was no happy medium to be had and the plumbing system made an awful noise. Lastly, I could not find an outlet in our room that worked properly. I wish I had taken a picture of those; it became a humorous event when I had to ductape my straightener plug to keep it in the outlet - they are long overdue for replacement. Overall, I paid a lot for a Super 8 kind of facility. read more
