Clean and cozy! Not as nice as most Hampton inns for the price, but much better than the other hotels in the area.

Our room is comfortable and clean - however - this hotel allows smoking. Had I k own that I wouldn't have booked here because I have asthma. While our room is non-smoking (thankfully- because nothing in the booking site indicated that there were smoking and non smoking rooms), the rooms across the hall are smoking rooms and the entire hallway reeks of both cigarette and marijuana. When I stopped at the desk to advise that someone was smoking she advised that smoking is allowed here and that she believes they may be the last Hampton branded property that allows it- she mentioned complaints on the other floors as well because I had initially suggested we might prefer to move to a non-smoking floor. There apparently isn't one. It's too bad because the location of the property is good, too. She said the policy is "unclear" on pot- so if you're a smoker (herbal or otherwise) this may be a great option for you. If you're sensitive to smoke, I advise booking elsewhere. On the plus side - The pool and fitness facilities are clean and well maintained as is the lobby and our room- no complaints there - and staff is friendly and helpful. read more

This is the worst Hampton Inn I have encountered and does not represent the Hilton brand name well. The room smelled stale and I quickly realized why. It was so dusty in there. All along the walls, and behind the mattress there was probably years of dust and who knows what else. There was black mold in the bathroom that was very visible to the eye and a health hazard at that. The shower head had so much black mold that it had started to penetrate it. I scrubbed off what I could before showering, but contemplated taking a sink bath to avoid touching any of it. The furniture, carpet, and everything is old and dated. And I have been in older hotels that are well maintained and clean. But this place is not even trying. I could not wait to check out. I unfortunately just sucked it up and stayed the night because I was in town for business the next morning and there are very few options to choose from in the area. The breakfast was probably the worst continental breakfast I have ever seen. Very few options, not even a banana. I would have preferred a granola bar to the offerings they had. Do better Hilton. This is no name roadside motel quality. read more

I don't want to compare, but after staying in a Hampton Inn in Maysville Kentucky the night before; this hotel paled in comparison. Maysville allowed us to park our motorcycles under the awning, gave us waters and had cookies. A gentleman denied us parking our motorcycles under the awning, told us we would have to buy water and had no cookies available. The room was clean. read more

We stayed here 3 nights to visit 4 children museums less than an hour away in Springfield, Decatur, Normal, and Peoria. Staff was wonderful to setup baby crib in king room. We had connecting rooms of 2 queen studio and 1 king suite with wet bar and large sofa. It definitely was more spacious than our previous connecting rooms in Hampton Inn Davenport. Housekeeping was nice as well as breakfast lady, cookie, who let us bring high chair to our room for mealtime. Also the desk in front of lobby ice machine had coupon for free car wash which was nice. Only complaint was that they cleaned one room and not the other. Front desk was nice to make it right. Also the connecting doors are fire safe self closing doors. This made it difficult to move from one room to another. We have toddler and baby to watch between rooms. The self shutting doors made it tough to prop open. So we had to use the locking bolt to keep door slightly open. Also if you just let the door close, then it would close fast and our toddler may be just behind to sneak into the next room. Otherwise this slightly older Hampton still hit all the high points for something in middle of nowhere. Location still pretty decent with Cracker Barrel next door and Culver's down the street. Also there was Walmart and Aldi not too far. read more

We only stay at Hilton property's and once again this property proves why we do! Our check in was over the top, the facilities was clean and the breakfast was great! Location was easy on and off the highway, Cracker Barrel right next door for dinner and plenty of gas stations. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Oh and the staff was extra nice! read more

This was a very nice location right off the highway but, very quiet. Our room was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed. There was also a display case near the lobby that had all kinds of awards that the hotel has won. Pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the award winning ways were not apparent at breakfast. The tables were dirty when we arrived and we had to clean our own. The breakfast was ok but, there was no one around to refill things and keep them fresh. The biscuits were dry and the sausage gravy was tasteless. The fresh fruit was empty. And the tables were dirty when we arrived and we had to clean out own. May have to remove one of those awards. read more

The good thing about Hampton Inn is that you know what to expect, but when things don't go as expected, it makes it feel even worse. We had booked a handicap room unfortunately we didn't get one. The room was not too clean. Had to move a piece of furniture and found stuff that had to be there for several months. Time for a deep cleaning. When the breakfast buffet runs out of coffee and several of the food items that's not good. read more

Back again in early November for a few days. Very impressed with the customer focus and service. We arrived early at the hotel after taking a red eye into Chicago O'Hare! Due to full capacity the previous day, the manager, Tyler M had no king room to give us right away. In fact, there was nothing at all available. People had not yet checked out! But guess what? When his cleaning crew came in, he instructed them to clean a recently available king room first so we could get in & rest from the 3.5-hour drive! He also told us to help ourselves to breakfast. We ate, and after breakfast, our room was ready! Wow! We did get some sleep and were ready to visit family for a birthday celebration. On the last day, the business center computer wouldn't work. We couldn't retrieve our boarding passes. Tyler went the extra mile and found a way to get our passes printed out! Superb customer service! Tyler went beyond exceeding excellent in service. Truly appreciate everything he did for us! Friendly, personable, compassionate, and caring! We thank him wholeheartedly and will be reaching out to him on our next visit! I'm reviewing this from a business traveler's viewpoint and this is a very nice 3 star hotel. The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. A real plus is that the room includes a power source area, complete with USB charging connections. Additionally, the room was updated and clean, but lacked a fridge and microwave (where can I store and reheat my Steak N Shake?) I found few HD channels, which was surprising, as most mid tier business hotels have updated to all HD channels. The internet speed allowed me to watch HBO GO from my Kindle, which was fantastic. The breakfast was truly one of the best I have had at any hotel buffet. It rivals a paid breakfast buffet quality-wise and the staff was always friendly. This is an excellent place to stay and is right next to the highway. They have thermostats in their rooms that actually work too. *Tip 1: Try the breakfast! The omelets were delicious and they have skim milk for your cereal!! **Tip 2: You're right across from a Steak N Shake. We don't have many in the Southwest, so I recommend you plug your arteries with some 3 Way Chili Mac! **Tip 3 Ask the front desk for shaving cream. I forgot to pack it and the front desk kindly provided me with some. Thankfully, the client wasn't forced to see me with a hideous 5 O'clock shadow that day. read more

I've stayed here for two work weeks in the last month. Rooms have been clean and quiet. Wi-fi is decent. The hotel is conveniently located just off of I-55 next to a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Even after a few hiccups my first night, I stuck it out for a 2nd night at an incredible reduced rate on a Jacuzzi suite. This place is privately owned (they also owns the nearby Holiday Inn) and it sure appears to be well maintained. I signed up for #hhonors, which links all 13 Hilton brands as a family and offering the best rate anywhere. Friendly staff and the pool/hot tub always makes for an enjoyable experience. We needed a place to stay while traveling to Illinois and back. This place was conveniently close to the highway. Quiet. Clean. We didn't interact with the staff that much. Check-in was quick. The woman at the desk had the evening's room keys made up and ready to hand out. There was a list of local attractions in the 3-ring binder on the desk in our room. Not much to do during the summer in the quiet college town of Lincoln, Illinois, but we were kinda tired anyway. Most everything (museums, etc.) was closed for the evening. We drove downtown, parked, and walked around for a while. Visited the Civil War Monument outside the Logan County Courthouse and a nearby park. Walked about three or four miles. Took lots of photos. That was enough excitement for us. When we got back to the hotel, we needed a drink. Hot tea and some citrus-enhanced ice water hit the spot. Our bathroom had a nice shower stall instead of a bathtub. The usual well appointed bathroom we expect from Hampton Inn. The refrigerator hummed loudly, but we didn't need to use it, so we just unplugged it until right before we left. We told the desk person about that. Breakfast was the usual complete Hampton Inn fare, with scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, make-your-own waffles, juice, coffee, etc. And then we were on our way to continue our journey. read more

Very clean, very quiet, very nice place right off the highway. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. Mango smoothies made with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh bagels, real butter and Philadelphia cream cheese. Everything used for breakfast and coffee (plates, straws, cups, bowls) all compostable! Nice hotel. Great location, adjacent to Cracker Barrel. Very personable desk clerk. Nice, clean room, but lacked countertops and surface areas for personal belongings. Complimentary breakfast nicer than most, with a great variety of hot and cold items. Breakfast area also nicer than most. TV in breakfast area was tuned to CBS. Unfortunately, we could not get CBS in our room even though the guide listed it, supposedly on channels 10 and 16. Both were dead. Temp in our room was impossible to regulate. Excessive heat from hallway seeped in, compelling us to run the AC even though the outside temp was only 40. Sign on bathroom mirror: "To reuse towels, hang up. To replace towels, place on floor." We're fine with reusing towels, but where were we supposed to hang them? There were no towel racks--only three small hooks, one of which was mounted upside down. read more

I visit the area often on business. Hampton Inn is my go to favorite place to stay. Convenient to the highway, nice rooms, quite large and well laid out, lots of plugs, refrigerator and microwave, shower is clean with lots of pressure and fluffy towels. Breakfast is hot (much appreciated), including eggs, sausage or bacon, make your own waffles, good fresh fruit, and a variety of other choices. WiFi is free and reliable. Nice place; nice value. BTW, there is also a meeting room you can rent, with or without a room, which is perfect for 10 person meeting, depositions, etc. read more

I'm an HHonors member, so I started staying here when traveling to Decatur on business. I usually have to travel on short notice, so the Hilton brands are always booked full in Decatur, but this place always has openings. Rooms are up-to-date and clean, staff has always been friendly, and everything else up to Hilton standards. If you're familiar with the Hilton chain, you know what you're getting at the Hampton Inn. It's not a four-diamond hotel, but it's not at that price point. This particular location is probably one of the nicer Hampton Inns I've visited, especially considering the relatively rural location. Don't hesitate to stay here -- it really is a diamond in the ruff. read more

Typical older Hampton inn. Strong floral smell throughout entire building. (Maybe carpet cleaning fluid?) gave me a headache. The rooms were fairly clean, cracked floor tiles in bathroom, dusty phone and remote. Shower head had soap scum and was so high I couldn't reach to move/clean it. I have stayed at this hotel several times in the last year. The hotel has been fully updated with a very nice gym and breakfast. The rooms have HD TVs and a beautiful bathroom. The internet is decent and has a coffee pot and iron in the room. We got a crib for our new born baby and was pleasantly surprised to find out the hotel just got all new cribs. The staff was very helpful. This hotel is on the high end of the Hampton Inn brand with a middle of the road price. Its defiantly not a luxury hotel but it is a very nice hotel for a work trip or a family stay. read more

I stayed at the Hampton Lincoln this past weekend and had a great experience. The hotel is conveniently located right off of I-55 and is easily seen as you exit off of 126. It is surrounded by many restaurants and gas stations, so whatever you might want you can find nearby. The Speedway/Arbys building is in walking distance and not only can you pick up dinner at Arbys but you can buy a few brews at the Speedway to compliment your dinner. The lady that helped me at check-in was very nice. She asked me about Cardinals baseball since I was wearing my hat and t-shirt and wished me a good night. I got to my non-smoking and it was very nice and clean. The bed linens were plush and the room appeared to be recently updated with new TV's and fixtures. I did use the free Wi-fi in my room and it worked perfectly without any drops. The next morning, I was able to grab a quick breakfast for free before I got on my way. They do have the make-your-own waffle station which is always a hit with me. There was also fruit, oatmeal, and cereal available so there is something for everyone. Including breakfast is always a plus for me. Since it is right off of I-55, I was quickly back on the road and headed home with no issues. I would recommend this hotel for any business or family traveler. This isn't the Ritz by any means, but it is a very nice property and with free wi-fi and breakfast included; it is a great value! read more

My husband and I chose to stay here because our son moved into a college that's only 5-10 minutes from the hotel. I must admit I was loving the hotel and my husband and I had already told each other that this would be our hotel of choice whenever we came to visit our son, that is until our last day stay. At about 4pm I received a call from the front desk stating I need to pay $4 for some water that was never left in our room that we supposedly drank per housekeeping. I tried repeatedly telling her that there was never water left in our room so after going back and forth with her and being unsuccessful in having her understand that whoever said they left water in our room had obviously forgot to leave it, I had to pay $4 for some water that I didn't drink. I even tried letting her know that it wasn't about the $4 as to I had came down and spent $9 on other things from their concession, she still didn't believe that I was telling the truth and I ultimately paid the $4 (again for water that we did not drink). The front desk lady, her attitude and being made to pay for something that I didn't have has put a bad taste in my mouth and for the next four years as I visit my son I will be finding somewhere else to stay. If you decide to stay here please be aware that they leave water in the room that they do not tell you about when checking in and then when it is gone even when it was never left, you will be held responsible! read more

THEY ARE NOT ACCOMMODATING TO TRAVEL BASEBALL GUESTS. I had to cancel my reservation the same day because our tournament schedule got changed at the last minute because of rain. The rude lady I spoke to on the phone was not sympathetic at all and immediately told me I'd have to pay for the room anyway - the ENTIRE COST of the room - and I was not going to be there. Every time I tried to ask a question she cut me off and replied, "Yes ma'am," but the tone in her voice was saying, "too bad." I understood there would be a cancellation fee, but to charge the entire nightly rate is unreasonable. Their cancellation "policy" is very subjective. Marriott Courtyard in Bloomington has a much more pleasant, accommodating staff, and the hotel is way nicer, too. read more
