    Across Dairy Queen...sweet !
    Kara P.

Cute lodge style B n B is the best way to describe this family run lodging. Decor evokes the feeling of being on a ski trip with the log cabin texture walls, hardwood floors, comfy leather chairs, & rocking chairs. The personal service truly sets it apart. We were here for a family reunion and we pretty much took over the hotel and they were accommodating over & beyond what you could imagine. It's VERY clean & comfortable and they had a few surprises that were every unexpected in the little community of Petersburg. Rates were reasonable, go for the fireplace suite with the flat screen, it's worth it ! Our room had 2 Q with mini fridge and microwave. Free wifi and continental breakfast in the AM which included cereal, yogurt, coffee, boiled egg, bagels, fruit. The utensil dispenser was the big hit with our family. Downstairs there's a laundry room $1 per load, soda machines, conference room, and a banquet room for our big reunion. Breakfast ends at 10 am, but they always were so nice to accommodate the late risers. The lobby & bar became our social gathering place every night. Craft beers, wine, full bar, and bar menu is available. There's even 3 slot machines right off the office and selection of gifts, shirts, sundries in the lobby. Less than 30 minutes to Lincoln Museum and 30 seconds to the Dairy Queen that's open til 10 pm. Yup, get your blizzard on.

The beds in the Rose and Lilac Rooms are Tempur-Pedic and make for a good sleep if you have a bad back. The little things go a long way here - the inn has cold bottled water constantly available and the proprietors strive to make the guests feel at home. We had an elderly relative along and he used Helen's Room which is the ADA room in the Carriage House - it was perfect for him and all went well. The breakfast is just fantastic. Buzz, our host, was a great host and made sure we were happy. There is nothing like breakfast in the dining room with the fireplace making warmth and enjoying freshly prepared breakfast. No conventional hotel can match this. Buzz also recommended some restaurants and we were most pleased with his recommendation. We really enjoyed Market Street Inn and will return in the future. If you are looking for a great Bed & Breakfast, look no further - this is it. It is worth a special trip if you are traveling on the interstates and looking for the feel of home while on the road. This exceeds anything offered by most hotels on the highway. It is a destination place to stay. I highly recommend Market Street Inn.

While our room is non-smoking (thankfully- because nothing in the booking site indicated that there were smoking and non smoking rooms), the rooms across the hall are smoking rooms and the entire hallway reeks of both cigarette and marijuana. When I stopped at the desk to advise that someone was smoking she advised that smoking is allowed here and that she believes they may be the last Hampton branded property that allows it- she mentioned complaints on the other floors as well because I had initially suggested we might prefer to move to a non-smoking floor. There apparently isn't one. It's too bad because the location of the property is good, too. She said the policy is "unclear" on pot- so if you're a smoker (herbal or otherwise) this may be a great option for you. If you're sensitive to smoke, I advise booking elsewhere. On the plus side - The pool and fitness facilities are clean and well maintained as is the lobby and our room- no complaints there - and staff is friendly and helpful.

This is the worst Hampton Inn I have encountered and does not represent the Hilton brand name well…read more The room smelled stale and I quickly realized why. It was so dusty in there. All along the walls, and behind the mattress there was probably years of dust and who knows what else. There was black mold in the bathroom that was very visible to the eye and a health hazard at that. The shower head had so much black mold that it had started to penetrate it. I scrubbed off what I could before showering, but contemplated taking a sink bath to avoid touching any of it. The furniture, carpet, and everything is old and dated. And I have been in older hotels that are well maintained and clean. But this place is not even trying. I could not wait to check out. I unfortunately just sucked it up and stayed the night because I was in town for business the next morning and there are very few options to choose from in the area. The breakfast was probably the worst continental breakfast I have ever seen. Very few options, not even a banana. I would have preferred a granola bar to the offerings they had. Do better Hilton. This is no name roadside motel quality.

They are friendly, attentive, and willing to help in any way they can. The positives: it's clean, the rooms are decent and seem well maintained. There is a little bar/cafe in the lobby. Prices are a bit high but it's nice to not have to leave the property to get a beer or a bite to eat. There are also several restaurants and a Target within walking distance or a very short drive. The negatives: no free breakfast and the property needs an update (that is coming according to staff and signage). It's not dirty or rundown just needs a facelift. Overall a decent value for the brand and location. When they finish the updates this place will be a shining star.

Our 9/10/25 stay at Courtyard by Marriott Springfield was an absolute nightmare. If I could give…read morezero stars, I would. The first room we were given had a urine-soaked bed. I only realized the source of the smell after sitting on it--long enough for the urine to soak through my clothing. Absolutely revolting. If housekeeping can overlook something this obvious, what else are they missing? The front desk manager was apologetic, comped the room, and moved us to another. But the "new" room wasn't much better: torn curtains, dusty surfaces, and an overall unclean impression. We tried to sleep anyway, only to be woken around 1:00am by loud, repetitive beeping. After more than an hour, I discovered the source: an all-night highway construction project just outside our window. The beeping gave way to jackhammers, making sleep impossible. When I complained again, I was told the hotel had no control over city construction--and reminded that I wasn't being charged. But a free horrible experience is still a horrible experience. It's hard not to believe the hotel knowingly gave us the last available room precisely because it was uninhabitable. Why weren't we transferred to another Marriott property, or even one of the many other hotels in the area? The issues didn't stop at checkout. Despite my request, the hotel manager never responded to my email. Marriott corporate has also been unhelpful, with one rep even admitting my complaint had been sent to the wrong property. I don't write negative reviews lightly, but I've been left with no choice. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had--unsanitary, unresponsive, and unacceptable.

The theming in the room is done so nicely, from cool themed bedding to specialty lighting throughout the room. It's just a lot of fun. The steam shower also has shower panel and two overhead shower heads, it felt incredible. Jacuzzi tub was also very nice. Everything was clean and the room smelled great. The Continental breakfast is just bagels/English muffins/pastries, cereal and a waffle maker, but it hit the spot. The coffee was tasty too. I think I saw a little basket of fresh fruit and some yogurt in the fridge too. The pool is up and running again, we dipped our toes a little but mostly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The steam room in the pool area is currently closed for repairs, but that was no issue for us. I'm sure they'll have it repaired by the time we come back.
