Made us feel welcome and at home, after being broken down on I49 for hours. Hampton Inn has a Gem working for them in Miranda. Morning staff also sought to our needs and excelled. I had a great stay at the Hampton Inn Natchitoches. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. My room was clean, comfortable, and--best of all--quiet, which made it perfect for getting a good night's rest. I stayed here with a group rate for my husband's uncle's funeral; my mother-in-law stays here frequently when she travels to see family, and they were able to get us a good price with multiple family members. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable (that BED ohhhhhhhhh man), and all of the staff were friendly. Even when I couldn't find the ice bucket simply because I wasn't looking in the right place! Very helpful for our one-night stay. I have been staying with Hampton a lot on this trip and two of the Hamptons we have stayed in did not Meet my expectations. This review is for this one in Natchitoches; LA First on my app reservation I ask for the King bed Study room which looked larger, and my preferences are marked for high floor rooms close to elevator. Well the young person, Kaylan, (think that's right) checked us in and gave me a 1st floor room, which I asked her to change me, she did change my room to the 3rd floor. But it was not the "Study" room that was on the app. I had to ask her for our members guest goodie bag with water. Most all of the Hamptons have not failed to give us two bottles of water, and I haven't had to ask. That has been very impressive to me because I am also IHG, Choice Privileges and Wyndham rewards members, so I was leaning more to always staying With Hamptons because they were so efficient and nEver forgot members.. well this one has failed several times, they had NO hot coffee. I called down and asked her if she had hot coffee made and she said yes. I went right down and saw her sitting with her phone, (she could of been doing work stuff) but there was no hot coffee and the dark roast was completely out. Now when I asked she should have checked it. Well after waiting 10 min she never brought any out so I went back to my room and a little while later went back to get some. She finally brought it out and the dark roast was so week you could see all the way to the bottom of the cup. So disappointed. Hotels advertise they have hot coffee 24 hours and they should live up to their advertising. A lot of them do and I appreciate them. This girl was apparently not focused on her job. She was not very friendly, seemed to get an attitude about making the coffee when I said it was out, She told me there was coffee... and next time check room preferences before assigning a room. Smooth check in, although check in wasn't available through the app. Super clean room, especially the shower. No mold in the shower and I get the feeling this hotel was recently repainted/renovated. The in-room AC was effective at 68* on a 100* day. The attendants at the breakfast area were very helpful and the area was clean. They actively cleaned it as guests passed through. Coffee was fresh and piping hot. Their pool was clean and comfortable. Check out was easy. We are Hilton gold status and have traveled quite a lot with them. This is a good one! read more

We stayed here recently. The workers at this hotel are super friendly and helpful. Our room was two double beds non smoking. The room and bathroom were kinda small. But we didn't care we arrived late and are only here to sleep and shower. The beds are pretty comfy. The pillows are nice and fluffy. The room and bathroom were super clean, and I am a neat freak. We felt very comfortable staying here. The only reason I gave it 4.5 stars is because the shower head was junk. We had to use the coffee cups in order to help rinse our hair. My husband was fine with the shower head. Just people with long hair need a shower head more powerful. Overall a great stay. If we were to head this way again we would stop here and stay overnight. read more

This Hampton does a good job living up to the basic brand promise of clean, comfortable and friendly accommodations. We were especially impressed with the staff who all seem to take personal pride in the property and their guests' comfort. This is an older Hampton Inn that was undergoing renovation while I was visiting. The service was friendly, the linens clean and the food what you would expect. The pool was inviting and sparkling especially on a 104°F day. Each afternoon there were light snacks and beverages available for free in the lobby as well as cookies in the evening. My room hadn't been updated yet so the carpets were a bit worse for wear. I would try this Hampton Inn again on my next visit to Natchitoches to see how the renovations went. read more

My only complaint is that I did not receive a folio under my door on the morning of checkout like I do in other Hampton Inns. I planned a little getaway just for some R&R. I selected something close to home and had only 2 criteria. A nice breakfast and pool. The breakfast was amazing. Great selection, well maintained, clean and delicious. The pool was dirty. The first day I noticed pieces of styrofoam and thought that maybe they'd just blown in there but, by day 3 it was obvious that the pool wasn't being cleaned because the styrofoam was still there. Not the happy place I'd hoped for. It's very small. The furniture was just so so. Definitely not what I'd expect from a higher end facility. Very disappointed with the pool. I booked through Priceline 'Pay later' and was a little perturbed that my bank account was dinged for the full amount the week before I was due to arrive. I bank out of town and keep enough $ in there to pay my living expenses. I was stashing back cash to pay my hotel bill. So, it was disconcerting when I checked my bank balance online and saw the charge. It made my account overdrawn and was very frustrating. I was expecting to check in, hand them my cash and be done. Now I had to wait for the charges to be reversed and HOPE that I didn't bounce any checks in the meantime. Grrr. That was definitely a cloud over my stay. The room was comfortable, the bedding spectacular. I won't stay here again. The Quality Inn next door had a much lovelier pool and, for the price difference I can just go out to breakfast. read more

This place has some of the friendliest staff we've met at any Hampton. And the breakfast was fantastic. The cook put a local spin to the eggs and they were amazing. They are in the midst of renovations (and they need the update) but we barely noticed any construction. Once finished, I'd likely give a 5 star rating. read more

I was treated so poorly at this hotel this week. I only assumed it was because one either how I paid, or two because I'm a black woman and I came in with a bonnet on my head. I never travel or let alone go outside my house with a bonnet on, but because it was a long drive and my hair was rolled for the game I thought it would be ok. Never thought I would experience this, let alone in front of my 11 year old daughter. My daughter and I traveled 5 hours from Texas to Natchitoches, LA for my son's State Championship game. We arrived early of course so I decided to see if we were able to check-in early. Went to the front desk and asked the young man, he didn't have a answer so he asked the young lady Summer. Summer said to him "no because all of the rooms are not clean right now." So, the young man repeated to me what she said without asking me my name so he could look me up to see if a room was available or not. So I said, "how are you just going to repeat what she said without looking in the system to even see if any were clean for me." Then Summer asked me what was my name and she will have the cleaning crew to get on it. I have her my name, left for about a hour and a half then came back. Upon me returning to the hotel there were two guys at the counter and guess what, they got keys and a complimentary bag, which tells me they are members. Then its my turn, Summer says, your room is not ready, with an attitude, so I asked, so how did they get a key and they came an hour and a half after me, she repeated, your room is not ready, looking at me making a nasty face, with an attitude. I said ok and walked over to the lobby area. A few minutes later a family of three walk in, they get their key and go to their room. About a minute later the young man calls me up and say your room is ready. I go up and say ok, what do you need from me, I handed him my ID and Credit Card in his hand, he did what he had to do, but when he gave me back my things, he laid them down on the counter. I said to him, "when someone hand you something in your hand, you give it back to them in their hand, that is rude and a sign of disrespect!" He looked at me and didn't apologize or anything. So then I asked him to write the manager's name down on my paperwork that will be given to me, he said to me and pointed, "there is the manager's name right there, " I said, "I can see that, but I asked you to write it down for me." Then Summer says, "the manager is in the back, I can get them if you want me to, I said no thanks, I've been on the road 5 hours, then had to wait 2 hours to get my room and I'm recovering from ACL surgery. read more

I can ABSOLUTELY confirm they have bed bugs. I have seen them and spoken to housekeepers that confirm they have bed bugs. Their "mitigation" technique is washing sheets and a chemical treatment. They DO NOT replace mattresses after bug infection. If you do stay here check out the BLACK MOLD under your refrigerator. They let it go, assuming you won't look. I'm a Marriott snob and must admit that this Hampton Inn is awesome! The staff is incredibly nice and helpful with questions relating to the town. At night, the hotel has free beer and h'orderves that anyone can enjoy, not just the rewards members. Morning breakfast is free and pretty good. The hotel must have been recently updated because the rooms are updated and the lounge is updated too. Overall, I'd stay here again and would definitely recommend it! read more

I am a Hilton Honors member and have stayed in Hampton Inns all over the country. When we checked in I was notified by the girl at the desk that couldn't get my points till her manager got there in the morning. Which was odd in an of itself but whatever. When I checked in I was told there was going to be a hold for "incedentals" because I was using a debit card. I asked what the amount would be because it is coming out of my bank account. I was told $20, oddly enough a sign right on the counter also said $20. More on that later. The room we had was kinda clean, but not up to the standards of most Hamptons we have stayed in. The bed linens seemed clean, however behind the microwave stand there was an empty condom box and several balled up candy wrappers. If I was staying there by myself that wouldn't have been that big of a concern to me. However, I wasn't by myself I was with my 3 school age daughters and wife. Kinda disappointing from what I'm used to with Hampton Inn. I overslept in the morning and missed the breakfast, so I guess the bed was comfortable enough. After we left I noticed $35 more than what the receipt said I was supposed to be charged. I called to question this and Suzanne the manager explained that that was for incedentals. Remember earlier when I said I was TOLD it was $20 and the sign on the desk RIGHT IN FRONT OF the check in person said $20. Well, her only explanation for it was, she wasn't there at check in. Makes no sense when it has a sign on the desk. Ultimately $15 over what they told me on hold for 3 to 5 days isn't going to break me. It's just the principle of it. That they are giving out false information and don't do anything to remedy it. I love Natchitoches and normally Hampton Inn, but next time I will probably skip this one due to my experience. read more

This is supposed to be a non smoking hotel! We walked in a room that definitely smelled like a nicotine. No alternative since the hotel was fully booked. Pool is NOT OPEN at 80° + weather. Manager rolls eyes at guest complains( my daughter happened to turn around to witness it). The only pleasant thing about this place is a clean, nice breakfast area and the lady who takes care of it.
