I have been staying with Hampton a lot on this trip and two of the Hamptons we have stayed in did not Meet my expectations. This review is for this one in Natchitoches; LA First on my app reservation I ask for the King bed Study room which looked larger, and my preferences are marked for high floor rooms close to elevator. Well the young person, Kaylan, (think that's right) checked us in and gave me a 1st floor room, which I asked her to change me, she did change my room to the 3rd floor. But it was not the "Study" room that was on the app. I had to ask her for our members guest goodie bag with water. Most all of the Hamptons have not failed to give us two bottles of water, and I haven't had to ask. That has been very impressive to me because I am also IHG, Choice Privileges and Wyndham rewards members, so I was leaning more to always staying With Hamptons because they were so efficient and nEver forgot members.. well this one has failed several times, they had NO hot coffee. I called down and asked her if she had hot coffee made and she said yes. I went right down and saw her sitting with her phone, (she could of been doing work stuff) but there was no hot coffee and the dark roast was completely out. Now when I asked she should have checked it. Well after waiting 10 min she never brought any out so I went back to my room and a little while later went back to get some. She finally brought it out and the dark roast was so week you could see all the way to the bottom of the cup. So disappointed. Hotels advertise they have hot coffee 24 hours and they should live up to their advertising. A lot of them do and I appreciate them. This girl was apparently not focused on her job. She was not very friendly, seemed to get an attitude about making the coffee when I said it was out, She told me there was coffee... and next time check room preferences before assigning a room. The room is nice and clean and pretty, no complaints there.

I stayed here 06/14/19-06/16/19 .. They were remodeling which I am not holding against them. My stay was fine the employees were nice and helpful. What made my stay TERRIBLE is the fact that I've come home and legs are full of BED BUG bites! I am allergic so my legs have swollen ! DO NOT STAY HERE!

    Nice salt water pool.

This is an older Hampton Inn that was undergoing renovation while I was visiting. The service was friendly, the linens clean and the food what you would expect. The pool was inviting and sparkling especially on a 104°F day. Each afternoon there were light snacks and beverages available for free in the lobby as well as cookies in the evening. My room hadn't been updated yet so the carpets were a bit worse for wear. I would try this Hampton Inn again on my next visit to Natchitoches to see how the renovations went.

Best to see it.....while at work

The beds are small and the headboard is awkward ! You have to know exactly how to adjust the heater! Not as nice as other H.I's

Keep driving past all the chain hotels/motels by the interstate and pick a place closer to the main strip of shops and restaurants. We were personally greeted by the owners upon arrival. For the first time EVER staying at a B&B, we were allowed to select our rooms from the ones available by visiting each open room. We've probably stayed at 15 B&Bs and nobody has ever let us snoop into all the open rooms (they're usually locked). The owner visited with us on the back screened-in porch for a few minutes before letting us get settled in. The rooms are all tastefully decorated in shabby chic decor with crisp white spreads and linens. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower stall and basket full of fresh, white towels. The bed was SUPER comfortable and we had the best night's sleep of our entire 8-day trip. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:30 am and the owner sat down to enjoy the meal with us. We really enjoyed hearing stories and getting a bit of local culture - it's the best part of traveling. If we're ever in the area again (and we hope to be sometime soon), we'll come back to the Creole Cottage. This would be a great place for several couples to stay and have some privacy but also access to the common areas (dining room and back porch where they stock a mini-fridge with bottled water). The folks at the Creole Cottage treated us like family, and we felt like we'd walked into the pages of Southern Living magazine. Hint: be sure to try the "mayhaw" jelly - it's a local favorite and delicious! We had it on buttered biscuits along with eggs, thick cut bacon, grits, fresh fruit and hot coffee. Perfection!

By good fortune, we booked Creole Cottage on Cane river in walking distance to good food and live music. As an Innkeeper myself, I know a 5 star when I see one and this one earns every star from minute of arrival until your reluctant departure.Warm southern hospitality, immaculate and cozy quarters with a delicious breakfast each day seems to be the norm there. We loved it. The icing on the cake was the innkeeper's "tribal knowledge" of food venues and local sites. Natchitoches is a must go and Creole Cottage is a must stay!

Super 8 charged us $93.60 for room, & $78.60 for taxes & fees. After considerable arguing, calls to bank & threatening a lawyer, Super 8 reversed the $93.60 for the room, but only $48.87 for taxes & fees. So they ended up charging $26.13 for taxes & fees. Even though Expedia said all taxes & fees were included in the amount paid to them. I called Expedia. They are looking into it. Room was clean except corners of floor in bathroom was filthy. We'll NEVER stay there again & recommend no one book there! Expedia said it appears that Super 8 in Natchitoches is not following their contract.

It also smelled like smoke in the hallways, when i was bringing my suitcase in. I am a non-smoker. It was very, annoying. I booked this room through an online third party platform. My reservation was not able to be found right away, then we had an issue with the card on file when it was found. After the process was completed and I checked my bank account. I had SEVEN pending charges for $50 dollars each. Yes they are pending, and i was told they would fall off at check out - but if i hadnt had over that amoumt of $350 it is possible my bank may have declined a charge for dinner..... The bed was not very comfortable. They had almost a wool textured blanket. In the bathroom, paint was peeling in several areas. My faucet leaked when the water was turned on, and not a small drip it would basically dish out more water from the rear of the handle than it would into the sink. There was also an electrical socket in the bathroom with no protective plate.
