*PLEASE SEE THE AMAZINGLY CLUELESS AT THE END OF MY REVIEW * At check-in I was told the pet fee was $30 not $20. The web site and reservation center stated $20. When I questioned it, the clerk became offended and angry. She said the that the information seen and told to me was wrong. I questioned her about how that could be. She said 'FINE, I'LL PAY THE 430 FOR YOU!!' I reminded her that I was willing to pay the $20 as clearly stated. Then she called me 'HON'. Not the nice and charming 'Hon" of the South. It was the snarky 'HON' that says "I'M IN CHARGE HERE!' . . .and you are Not." Then she called an employee from the back to bring her wallet. She opened it like she was going to pay for it. I have no idea if she did or not. I apologized for any misunderstanding and suggested we start over. She said "IT'S DONE!" I thought to myself Y I K E S!....we are going to get a really nasty room . . . and I was right! * We had to keep opening the toilet lid to flush. I finally figured out how to fix it by sticking my hand in the tank and moving the chain to a different location on the arm and reclipping it. Yuck!! Is that my job as your paying guest? * Toilet paper holder is not secured to the wall * The shower head is not fully operational. We know how to use the lever to change the spray. It didn't work. The pipe from the wall looked like it was going to fall on our heads * The hand sanitizer in the lobby does not work These are not remodeling issues. They are maintenance. But first you must care. Fancy chairs in the lobby do not make up for a room with these problems. Pluses: Good mattress and bed linens and decent towels. Yep . . .that's the only plus I can give you. This was an OK stay. Nice clean and spacious room. I could hear some noise next door through the bathroom vent but that was not really an issue for me. As an alumni of EKU, I always wanted to stay at this location and thought I would try it out this homecoming and the hotel looks great. I did over hear the front desk answering the phone "The award winning" and I was taken back a little with an internal giggle. Wanted to ask what award. The staff were Ok, but I think that was the main point of the mediocracy throughout the stay. From the start, I wasn't greeted as a Hilton Honors member upon check in, or acknowledged of Diamond status (which is not the end of the world), but all the interactions left an impression of just ok. At breakfast there were a couple employees supervising breakfast, and I could hear the interactions with other guests, friendly enough but a little bossy and up in everyone's breakfast business. Girl, I haven't even had my first cup of coffee. Next was the front desk having an open conversation of a no call/no show employee and everyone could hear. I know she went home the night before and had taken an aspirin and acknowledged that she had to work today. That could have been taken to the back or not discussed at all. All that kind of stuff. And the requesting a later checkout as a diamond member just wanting to leave a little later, I was told how they got to turn the rooms. I mean all friendly enough experience, and not everyone can go above and beyond and exceed expectations every single interaction, but just not all what I expect from a Hilton. I do want to highlight Donna, she was super courteous and the best representative I came in contact with. Don't get me wrong on the whole stay though, this was not a bad stay, no real problems, comfy beds, and I used points and cash so don't regret staying here. It was just ok. And the service and general attitude. For the record it is homecoming weekend but you would think they would be prepared for it and regardless of an event in-town could handle full capacity. read more

Excellent Hampton property. Very obvious the managers take Covid seriously - every thing was super clean - better than normal and Hampton's are generally very clean. I called they 30 minutes out after a long day on the road - my room was ready and nicely appointed. Check in staff was fast and efficient - thanks!! Bed was comfy, good night's sleep. I had a long drive, alone, & needed just a 1 night night stay. This Hampton Inn was great. Easy to find on the west side of I75, with lots of gas stations, food, & shops nearby. Staff was pleasant & helpful, breakfast in the morning was average but I was glad it was there, convenient & good coffee. My room near the elevator was surprisingly quiet as they were almost sold out. I would stay here again. It was clean, safe, & affordable, just the ticket! read more

We were in town for a night and this hotel was in a convenient location. For one night, the accommodations were tolerable. (Well, that may be generous because neither of us got much sleep!) They have free parking, but could definitely use more spaces. When we came back in the evening, there were only a few open spots left. The floors around the elevators were always wet and smelling of chlorinated pool water, because of the indoor pool. Our room was okay, but in need of some TLC. For example, there were stains on the couch and a part of the wall art was broken. The bed was also lumpy and soft. I'd requested a quiet room, but ended up with a connecting room (a door between rooms), and well let's just say the people in the adjoining room were making late night noises and it was extra loud because of the door between the rooms. Awkward! Definitely a budget hotel experience, but without budget pricing. read more

Literally my favorite red roof to stay in. Mary was super nice and personal when we checked in. The room was clean and quiet. Dogs accepted in every room. WiFi was great. For safety, there is a police station nearby. For food, a 24/7 Waffle House and other quick eats. Full breakfast with coffee and waffles. Easy to find and lots of rooms. In the morning, the GM helped me to walk my dogs to the car, and even took them potty. The check out is as smooth and amazing. Ashley at the front desk was sweet, fun, and even encouraging. Have stayed here before, will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. read more

On a work trip this week I stayed two nights at the Hampton. First visit there. It is conveniently located off the exit and close to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of free parking. Lobby is nice and breakfast which is included in your stay was good and plentiful. I like that the Hamptons have the traditional breakfast options but also healthy options, fruit, cereal, fruit and yogurt smoothies, and oatmeal. Coffee is always available on the lobby which is nice. The room was small but comfortable bedding and all the amenities you need. It was modern with a couch, desk, free internet and coffee maker in the room. It was also very clean and the maid straighten my cosmetics on the bathroom sink which was a nice touch. About average pricing for a Hampton. The staff were friendly and accomodating. I would stay there again. read more

This is a nice remodeled Hampton Inn. Our room was clean and had some nice extra touches. There were a couple of Hershey's chocolates on the dresser with a peacock feather and a thank you note from the housekeeper. In the bathroom there was a flower on the washcloths. It was real but unfortunately dead by the time we checked in at 1:00 am. There was also a cute little rubber duckie on the side of the tub. Extremely clean room and hotel, friendly staff, and overall great stay! Family of 3 visiting the area so our son could attend HAM FEST 2021 hosted by the Central Kentucky Amateur Radio Society. Checked in in less than 5 minutes, grounds and room very clean, and all staff wearing masks. We had no hesitation staying here whatsoever. Everything in room was stocked, tidy, and clean. Beds were comfortable and I loved the pillows, even though I brought my own from home, as usual. Water pressure in shower was great, plenty of towels for our stay. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast - nice having those back again! Good selection and an attendant was on hand the entire shift to restock and sanitize the self-service area and each table as soon as the guests left them. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant, polite, and helpful if needed. Definitely will stay here again when we are back in the area and would recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Great stay even during COVID! Everyone was wonderful, and although they took extra precautions we were still able to enjoy our stay with all amenities. We were even served our breakfast since they wouldn't allow guests access to the breakfast bar. On another note, we had to get off the elevator a couple of times because knuckleheads without masks wanted to ride on the small elevators with us. So wear the fucking mask. Had to make an unexpected stopover on a recent road trip to Tennessee. The torrential rain storms made it difficult to see, so we stayed at this Hampton overnight. Typical Hampton; busy carpet, slow elevator, soda machines needed exact change. The rate was good ($80), however, and the free breakfast was also decent. Probably don't have any reason to go back, but it was a welcome break from the weather conditions. read more

This is one of the nicest Hampton Inns I've ever seen. We were welcomed by Jacob who was personable, witty, and very accommodating & helpful. We ended up getting 2 rooms & he was very kind in locating us close together & reassuring us it was no problem to amend our original reservation. He provided us with water before we headed up to our rooms, which was appreciated. The room was super clean, even the carpet around the nightstands was clean! The bathroom was sparkling clean. And the room smelled very fresh, but not overpoweringly like air freshener. We were welcomed with a hand written note and fresh cut flower from "Christy" the housekeeping person for our room. Great job, Christy! We appreciate the attention to detail in the room. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel offered an assortment of pillow types, rather than just a bunch of either flat or overstuffed ones. I loved the extra options! The bedding was soft & warm, and the mattress seemed fairly new. The A/C worked very well & was designed so it didn't blow directly on the beds! RADICAL idea! I wish more hotels put thought into this, because it's a big issue for people with breathing problems to be in a cold draft from the A/C all night. (And it's a big issue for people in menopause to be in a hot draft from the heating unit all night in winter!) Oh, the joys of aging! :D The rooms were designed thoughtfully, with LOTS of surface space to put stuff on, and ample charging outlets near the beds, a nightlight in the bathroom, tons of vanity space, plenty of towels. The only complaint: the sliding door for the bathroom. It doesn't lock, and without even trying to snoop, you can gaze directly into the bathroom mirror from the room through about a 1+" gap. ZERO privacy in there. I know the "barn door" trend is popular, but it just doesn't work here. Finally, the breakfast was good, with plenty of options, including some low-fat items like yogurt, eggs, oatmeal, fresh waffles, several types of fresh fruit, & skim milk. We were in town for a college visit at EKU, & it's nice to know we have a good place to stay for visits if our daughter chooses to attend there. read more

The cringe in the bathroom had mildew stains .Even they had lots of sanitizing products available I felt it could have been a little cleaner. The juice machine had crusted looking growth on it. Also the room had a whirling air sound all night like the wind was blowing hard but it wasn't. Wasn't a terrible stay but probably wouldn't stay again. read more

General a nice hotel, friendly staff and either new or recent renovation. Nice pool area no hot tub. There is the problem. They have some designer artistic freedom that had no sense of how a hotel room should function. There is a sliding door that either closes the bathroom or the closet. Weird. There are literally no drawers to unpack your clothes and the 2 small drawer are wire drawers won't hold much. The Art Deco theme is completely not functional. read more

Pros: - Rate was very reasonable -- about $80 for an overnight. - Lobby was very clean, even amid construction. - Front desk staff was friendly and accomodating for a late evening check-in. - Room was VERY clean -- a note from Lisa, the woman who cleaned the room, greeted me. - Shower had good pressure and was plenty warm. I did not have a chance to visit the gym or the pool. The breakfast room was a meeting room converted since part of the main lobby was under renovation. Again service was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, it was a nice spot to put my head down and rest. It is not a fancy hotel. But it was more than comfortable and welcoming. I like places where the WiFi works and is included in the cost of the overnight. read more

This might be one of the nicest Hapmton Inns I've ever stayed at. I was quite surprised to read the other reviews prior to me posting this review. This may be a remodeled property but I would have guessed that it is was anew construction. It's, fresh, clean, decor and lighting is very current. The 2 gentlemen/evening staff were exceptionally nice, courteous and helpful. Shower, beds and pillow were wonderful! Kids had a great time in the pool! read more

This place needs an updating. It looks like one that hasn't had the typical Hampton Inn update. The room was musky, the bed was lumpy, and the sheets were not typical Hampton Inn quality sheets. It honestly was more like a Comfort Inn or Motel 6. More or less clean, but not what you expect from Hampton inn. I would take my chances elsewhere, though the area is sparse. Super place to stay! Clean, Clean, Clean! Nice sized pool and it was CLEAN! We have been to many nice hotels and the pool was so filthy we couldn't swim! The breakfast in the morning is a nice selection and it is very well organized and there are two ladies who work all morning keeping it neat and tidy and food refilled. The room was comfortable and the beds were awesome. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of room to unpack a little! The front desk attendants were very helpful and super polite!
