Where do I start? From the beginning I guess. I've been putting off this review for a while now, not wanting to relive my experience at the Sheridan Hampton Inn. But since it's coming up on Halloween, it's fitting I share the horror....the horror. I found this establishment on the internet. It was listed with all the other Sheridan lodgings. I thought, Hampton inn, why not? It's an upscale national brand. A click and I was presented with a number of price options. Naturally I clicked on the most economical. Hey what can I say, I've got Scottish blood running through these veins. My price choice was on Snaptravel. $12 bucks less expensive than the others. Nice. When I checked in, the desk clerk searched the computer, and said, "Oh, you booked with another company, one minute please". A minute later I was handed my room cards, and on my way I went, to what was to be a chamber of horrors . First thing I usually do is to open the curtains to let in the light, and look at the view. Oops, that didn't work, very little light, and a view reminiscent of what Charlie Manson may have seen out his prison window. Check out the picture below. Well, you can't win em all. Later in my stay I had to use the bathroom. Unfortunate for me, cause it was there that I met the ghosts of Hampton past and present. Filthy. Ugh. Hair to the left of me, trash to the right. On the wall, smudges of poop. I won't be meeting the ghost of Hampton future, nor should you. Remember, I warned you. Quick Tip: Use the Snaptravel price if you dare. I think since you're getting the cheapest price, they reward you with the worst rooms. I'm not going to use that option anymore. I can only handle Halloween once a year. read more

Clean rooms, nice staff and conveniently located. The rooms were pretty standard Hampton Inn.

I travelled here for work and it was one of the better hotels I've gone to. The staff were friendly and easy to accommodate arriving late and then needing a late checkout. The housekeepers were rushing us out for checkout, they stood right by the door and entered the room at 12:01 for a 12:00 checkout. The hot tub felt boiling and the pool felt like a cold bathtub so it would have been nice to have had a comfortable in between. I would have liked to have had adult hours at the hot tub because there were small kids in the hot tub the entire time and they didn't leave until 10pm. Pets are allowed and service animals are always allowed. read more

I made a reservation on line at this hotel for two nights July 4 & 5. The rate stated on line was $156.75 per night . I noticed on the confirmation email that I had also been charged $58 for a cancellation insurance policy. I contacted Reservation Support to challenge this unauthorized fee who agreed to refund this charge. Evidently my reservation was then changed to a prepaid reservation at the time I challenged the objection to the cancellation policy charge since I typically do not reserve as a pre payment. I received an invoice by text on checkout that showed a total charge of $601. I requested a copy of the Guest Portfolio from the front desk which showed a total folio balance of $354. 26 inclusive of tax versus the $606 charge shown by text. The Support Reservation group part of the Hampden Inn has agreed to credit $120. Not close! This is a very basic Hampton Inn with limited breakfast and no additional services. A warning to future travelers tor consider other hotel accommodations in Sheridan, Wyoming! read more

This was okay. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Beautiful Lobby. The reason it's three stars is, the room was drab. All of the vending machines were out of water. The entertainment was limited to basic cable with no options for on demand movie rentals, and service took a very long time. This is fine if you're looking for an economic place to sleep, and are vaccinated and not going to see anyone who is not vaccinated for a long time. But be warned, no one, not one person, not even any staff member was wearing a mask. They don't seem to care about the safety of their guests. I suppose they also don't think that perhaps some of their guests might be traveling from other places and where people actually believe in Covid and science and masks are required? You would think they would assume that. It is a hotel m, after all. read more

Sadly, this may be the class of the company for Sheridan hotels if one looked only at new public area infrastructure. In fact, the lobby looks nice and as one would expect a newer Hampton like this one to be. But we've stayed at lots of Hampton Inns across the country and this is definitely in the lowest quartile when compared to that company. For that reason, two stars it is. All downhill from the lobby, the room was a mess. Not for cleanliness, that was very good. But the wood furniture was badly nicked up, the upholstered furniture (such as it was and more on that in a moment) was stained, and one wall had wallpaper that looked as if a piece of furniture, the desk perhaps, had been pulled across it to rough it up. Were I paying $29.99 a night at a cheap hotel then I'd say you get what you pay for. But here I paid Hampton rates and I expect Hampton quality in the furnishings. This is all General Manager / owner (one in the same here I think) to address. It reflects complete disregard for the guest. Beds were Hampton standard comfy, that's a good thing, and so were pillows. But sheets were thin and flimsy. That's a little thing but it is a thing when paying these prices. Staff was friendly enough but seems largely untrained and once again that is a management issue to address. People do what they know how to do and are empowered to do on the job. What this staff knew how to do was simply make excuses. When in response to the standard question "how was everything" we answered with our disappointment about the condition of the furniture in the room, one staff person said "yes, that is a bad room". Which prompted me to then ask why we had been assigned it as they property was not full and there were a plethora of rooms from which to choose at our early afternoon check in. Silence. Another said it wouldn't matter as "the upholstery in some of our rooms can be stained like that, someone cleaned it who didn't know what they were doing". Then, I said, management out to replace it. Another said "we had the wood furniture washed recently so maybe it wasn't chipped off, maybe it was dried soap". Please. Even at that point it could have been recovered with a simple, "I'm sorry it didn't meet your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to tell us. We will check the furniture in that room. Let me see if our General Manager is available to speak with you." This is a GM failing in service training, not the staff's for having not received it. Finally, re the upholstered furniture comment I said was coming later, the only chair in the room beside the desk chair (which had a hole in the upholstery in the side of it), was a ((badly stained) side chair, not a lounge chair / club chair as we've come to expect at Hampton, along side the desk. No comfy place to sit and read or watch television. My hubby perched on the bench at the foot of the bed to watch the business news. I was told by the staff that this side chair only set up was standard with king rooms. In the scope of world peace does all this matter? Nope. When choosing a hotel that returns to the guest what the guest has paid for does it matter? You bet. If we had been staying here more than one night, we'd have had a discussion with the GM, who was not in it seems either when we checked in or out. As it is, if we must stay in Sheridan overnight again, I think we'd take a look at the newish Motel 6 just across the parking lot. You might want to do that too. read more

Booked because of website picture. Bad choice. We made a deposit. On the road called the help line to inform them we were going to be an hour late. Got a barely understandable fellow which is difficult while traveling in a car at 75MPH. He wanted all types of info including credit card number to merely let the innkeeper know we would be late. When we got there the reception clerk was sitting outside talking and took several minutes to finish her conversation before waiting on us. When we got to the room, the sheet had a stain and the bedspread had a dark (blood?) stain. The underside of the toilet seat had fecal matter. We covered the bedding with towels as best as we could. When we left, the checkout clerk gave us a receipt with only the balance, not the itemized listing (why did the fellow want my credit card number to relay a message that we'd be an hour late?) But the building looked nice and the rooms looked great...in the photos. read more

I would rate the Hampton Inn in Sheridan as pretty average. If you use the Hilton app, book an even numbered room on an upper floor for a view of mountains. Otherwise, expect a pretty basic overnight stay. read more

WARNING bait and switch on prices. Reserved on one price, arrived and was told I would have to pay another. That was strike one. Strike two was 1100 checkout, not 1200 like most Hamptons, strike three was request for late checkout was denied despite the fact that I am a Hilton Honors member. You can tell the owner/general manager of this Hampton is a penny pincher, squeezing the customer for every cent to line his/her pocket. Their frugality shows in their facility. I stay exclusively at Hilton family hotels where ever I travel, mostly Hampton Inn's because they offer a good stay for decent value. Not this place. Worst Hampton I have stayed at anywhere in the U.S.. Only bright spot is staff was friendly. I would avoid this Hampton if you expect it to be like all others, it is not. read more

What a dump! One of the trash cans had garbage in it from the previous "guest" and the shower door leaked so water ran all over the floor. Definitely not up to Hilton standards. Front desk staff was friendly, breakfast was pretty good and the bed was comfortable. But the room was not clean. read more

Spent five nights here over Memorial Weekend. Xavier was very helpful and accommodating during our early checkin. He was friendly and professional and Hampton is lucky to have this young man working for them. The beds were very comfortable. Our only complaint was that the hotel needs to invest in better roll-away cots. Rooms were very clean and the view of the Big Horn mountains was amazing. Great coffee bar 24/7. And the free continental breakfast was very good. A brown bag to-go breakfast of fruit, Water and breakfast bar was provided to us at checkout. We left before the breakfast buffet opened so the hotel made sure we had a bagged breakfast to go. I would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

Not all Hampton Inns are created equal. These folks could take some lessons from their neighbors up in Butte, MT. The breakfast offered turkey sausages that I find to be disgusting. The juice dispenser was providing colored water instead of orange juice. No bananas were available. They could do a much better job. read more

I can't complain about anything. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the value, but that is probably just because I need to realize this is what rooms cost in the summer tourist season. I stayed here Wed - Fri and when packing my things Thur night for an early departure on Fri morning, I noticed that my perfume was missing. Extremely hesitant to accuse anyone of theft, I turned the room and my suitcase upside down trying to locate it. I waited and an unattended front desk for over 10 minutes that night to report the missing item. Finally, I headed back to my room for the night. The next morning I informed the front desk of the theft and my name and number were taken with a promise that the manager would call me as soon as he arrived. At 5pm, no phone call, so I called them. No manager, but a message was taken. Saturday, Sunday, Monday and now, today, Tuesday.....I've called every day with no success or returned call. This hotel staffs thieves and will not assume responsibility (or even the decency for a returned call) for their employee's actions. I will continue to call and continue to leave negative reviews until this issue is resolved. UPDATE: On behalf of the manager, a young man named Brett called me back (finally?!?!?!) and informed me that the hotel would like to offer me an $80 credit to the card on which I purchased my room. This just happened, so I have not actually seen the credit, but it's a step in the right direction for sure. I've updated my rating to 4 stars........it took a lot of time and effort on my part and I still have not heard from the manager. You can't control all of your employees, but at the end of the day, the Hampton Inn made it right. It was definitely an inconvenience, but it's not nearly as bad as some of the horror stories I've heard about others who have had things taken from housekeeping. This was really a 3 star stay, but the customer service was awesome and they really made accomdations for me when I asked for a late check out. They arranged for my room to cleaned last and I was able to stay until 2pm. Which was perfect since I was here on business and my flight left at 330pm. The gym was a bit runned down, but I left some feedback and the manager wrote back and assured me they would remedy the situation. I believe he will. read more

Great hotel. Really loved the more 'up scale' appeal to the lobby. Very updated and clean. On top of the usual amenities it also had a small "store" with food items and grocery items not found in vending machines. I liked the common area with big screen tv and couches. We stayed here last weekend while attending the anniversary events at the Little Big Horn battlefield. We found the rooms very clean and, although we were next to the elevator, very quiet. We stayed two nights and experienced no problems with staff, service or anything otherwise. Breakfast was good and plentiful (cheese omelets, turkey sausage, belgian waffles, fruit, pastry, juices, toast/bagels, etc.). We would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself on a long road trip. read more

Did the trick after a long day driving. It was clean and comfortable, with nice bathrooms. Not much in the way of a view or being walkable to anything except the Sheridan museum, but the town is small enough that dinner is a short drive away. Staff was pleasant. I'm rating it four stars due to it meeting my expectations of what a Hampton Inn does, which is provide nice, no frills lodging for a decent price. read more
