This stay was great. The Hampton was very clean. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly and made checking in and leaving very easy. The Breakfast was above my expectations. The assistant that put out the food never stopped moving. If he was not refilling the food he had the dining area spotless. This is not on the staff. You need a sign that says,do not fill your personal water at the drink station. I watch an Adult drink from the rim of his water jug then stick the drink dispenser nozzle completely in his jug after he had been putting it to his mouth. I stayed at this Hampton Inn several years ago. It was nice then. It no longer is. I was going to rate this the worst Hilton I ever stayed at but Yelp just reminded me of a worse experience at another hotel. What is particularly bad is the bathroom. The fans don't work and you get steam trapped in the room, which leads to mildew in all the corners of the tub and peeling paint on the ceiling. The tubs have an anti-slip bottom that doesn't quite get clean and now looks permanently stained and dirty. The rest of the room is standard Hampton Inn. However, because of the fan issue in the bathroom, the room easily becomes humid. So, you need to run the AC and thus the room stays cold. Note that we had two rooms because the woman working hotel reception admitted her incompetence and said she didn't know how to out me in the larger room for the first night. We had the same bathroom fan issues in both rooms and in our daughter's room. read more

Great Hampton Inn. Summary - nice hotel, good price-point, comes with breakfast, and would stay here again! I was in town for two days and wanted to spend the night in the Akron area and found this location. I was happy I chose this hotel when looking at the options. There is plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lit. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk for the longest time. There was an issue with folks bringing a pet and the hotel now being pet friendly. I had checked in via the app and selected my room but wanted to get a physical key as well so patiently waited around. I am a big fan of the interior and liked the wood trim, dark colors, with blue/turquoise colors. I stayed in room 305 and was super happy with it. Spacious, clean, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron & board, hairdryer, with all the bathroom toiletries. I appreciated the mouthwash too. The room had a double bed, a nice chaise lounge, desk, and a decent size TV. Great room for the price. I did go to Breakfast and it was OK. The traditional Hampton Inn breakfast set up with cereals, breads, muffins, waffles, fruit, yogurt, and a meat and egg option, etc. It was nice being included with the stay. The kitchen worker kept everything cleaned and stocked and wiped everything down many times including the tables between guests. With the Front Desk, I would like to note that I ran out of Kleenex's/tissues and went down to the front desk and ended up waiting 5 mins for someone to come around the corner, same thing when I was waiting to ask if more coffee was going to be brought out for breakfast in the morning. I could also hear the conversation that there was also an issue with one of the front desk workers coming from the another chain and was new to Hilton and had some issues with another guest entering in an advance stay over an authorization. In my option from check in to check out, the front desk could use some work and attention, but nothing at all terrible for me not to stay here and everyone was super nice. Just wanted to be honest with those observations... could improve on wait times, attention to the front end, and maybe some refresher training. I did not use any of the amenities but the hotel has a business center, workout room, guest laundry room, and indoor pool too. I got a great online rate of $101.00 with the Hilton Honors app. I have really got some better deals even over the AAA discount. The out the door total was $116.41 after taxes which is absolutely great. That is exactly why I wasn't too concerned on any less than perfect service and the employees were friendly. The Value, the quality of the hotel, and the cleanliness was remarkable. I would absolutely stay here again if in the Akron/Stow/Kent area. read more

Very nice Hampton Inn. Clean. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quiet location. (Ask to stay on the quiet side of the building.) Plenty of parking. Good breakfast variety and choices-scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, waffles, yoghurt, cereal, muffins, etc. Breakfast was taken away a few minutes early one day, but the next day the server was very nice and made sure everyone was served before she cleared it all away. On the day we were leaving we were not able to get a late check-out because of limited staffing, so, if you know you are going to need a late check-out, be sure to ask when you check in so you can get in the list. Close to several restaurants And fast food places. Amenities like pool, business center, exercise room etc The breakfast are and lounge were nice for the family to gather and visit. Originally, I was going to choose a different hotel but I settled on this one. Overall it was a great stay. It was tough trying to find parking with all these randomly parked trucks. The pool was a great feature. I was upset the hot tub wasn't currently running yet. The bedroom was great! Great selection of TV channels! Really comfortable mattress! Staff here was friendly! I loved the amenities and stores outside the hotel as well. The breakfast wasn't the best but they did have a great makeshift breakfast in the freezer which had some goodies. Super disappointed in this large chain hotel. I checked in on November 9th and brought to the attention of the front desk staff that there were two 2in metal pieces sticking out from underneath the bed and which I received a decent sized scratch. I was told that had never been reported which I find a little odd because you can't help but notice these two large 2-inch pieces of metal hanging from under the bed especially once you scratch yourself with it! Upon checking out on November 10th I notified the three staff members that were at the desk at the time and although they were very nice and I showed them the pictures of the two pieces of metal they didn't seem really interested. They did ask me if I needed medical attention which I did not. I then called corporate to report this to be sure that is taken care of because someone could really have a bad accident with two 2in pieces of metal hanging from under the bed. I was told the general manager will be contacted and today I have not heard either through email or telephone from the general manager. I'm more disappointed that this is not important enough to receive a call on especially since I was scratched and bled from this. The rest of the room and the common areas were quite nice and aside from this odd situation it was a decent stay. I always look at how a business handles an issue and base my future visits with them on how that's handled. Everyone makes mistakes. Because of my disappointment with the lack of communication from a general manager at the hotel I doubt that I will book here again but you take your chances! read more

Top marks for the facility and the people working there! I had a Thursday through Sunday stay February 15-18 along with a whole bunch of friends. There were about 20 guys, and we had about 12-13 rooms. There was not a single complaint. I'm sorry to say I don't remember the names of the staff, and I really wish I jotted that down. Three of us checked in late at night. There were some administrative issues with my reservation, which were handled with ease and professionalism. The rooms were recently renovated. The beds were comfortable and clean. The shower was appropriately soothing, meaning there was plenty of hot water, and the pressure was good. The picture was clear on the TV and the remote was easy enough to navigate. I don't know if the rooms on either side of me were occupied, but I didn't hear any noise. In the morning, we ate the provided breakfast, which had a nice variety of hot and cold foods, including the requisite make-your-own-waffle station. The best part by far was the woman working the area - replenishing the food, cleaning up, etc. She was friendly and efficient. She greeted everyone with a smile and often checked the area and the people to make sure everything was great. Also, in the morning, the woman who staffed the front desk was friendly and accommodating with our questions and our stupid dad jokes. Throughout the day, there was a nice selection of coffees and teas in the lobby. The breakfast area also doubles as waiting area. Because we had so many people, it was nice to have a place large enough to comfortably wait for each other and to solidify plans for the day. On my next trip to the area, I probably won't even consider another hotel. read more

While asking about room availability on the phone Shannon was short and rude. My family still decided to stay since Hamptons are usually nice. When we arrived he came out of the back after we waited at the desk for at least 5 minutes. No one else was in the lobby. He acted like we were bothering him. Every question was answered under his breath and with an attitude. I've been staying at Hampton's for 15 years and have never been treated so poorly. Excellent service. It's clean. Great breakfast. Staff were all very friendly. It's in the middle of renovation and everything looks great! The only thing is the business center need an AC. When we arrived, the computers were down and they didn't have our reservation or honors member number. When we got to the room it was the wrong type -we had reserved a king and got two queens. When we called the desk the explanation given was " we oversold." The front desk said they would tell the managers. The room was fine and clean so we stayed. We left in the morning and did not hear from the manager. We were gone all day. When we returned after dinner we discovered our room had never been serviced .we hoped to speak to the manager in the morning. We needed to leave a little after 8, and the manager did not get in before we left. While the facility was fine, the lack of management created this poor rating. read more

My mom and I stayed here in Dec. We traveled from DC to MI and this was a perfect stopping place for the evening. It was nasty weather and I was very tired of driving. The front desk person-I don't remember her name- was fantastic. She told me about Texas steakhouse right next door for dinner. She also told me how to get a discount there. When we arrived back to the hotel to get settled, she gave us bottles of water. She also left a message on our room phone that if we needed anything to call her!!!! We slept great. Unfamiliar to the area, we randomly pulled up closest hotel to where we were and Hampton Inn/ Stow came up. We thought we would try it and wow, did we hit it lucky! On arrival, the staff was very friendly, helpful and quick. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and quiet. It's all exactly what we needed (a good nights sleep). We stayed here for a long weekend exploring the National Park. Everything was clean, the staff was so friendly and hospitable, and the breakfast was amazing with a great selection!! Beautiful hotel with recent upgrades the most impressive being (in order of "I love this room"): multiple USB charging ports on the tables, THREE towel hooks next to the tub, multiple standard 15 amp receptacles for charging on the tables. Room was spotless, as always, and stocked with plenty of towels. Quiet - didn't heard a sound all night. People behind the front desk were very helpful - Shannon & MaryAnn. My girlfriend and I stayed here in mid-January, '14. Very happy with our room. It was clean and very comfortable; the heater worked great, and it was quiet. The bathroom was very modern, everything looked brand-new and worked perfectly. Free wi-fi, too. The hot breakfast was good, with plenty of variety including scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, oatmeal, make-your-own waffles, etc., and good coffee. (Though for a really good breakfast, or brunch, I'd recommend 'The Blue Door' which is about a 10 minute drive away.) read more

This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel staff were rude and unaccommodating. Be prepared for poor service if you stay here. Look out for the house cleaning crew as well. They didn't clean our room when we asked them to and they wouldn't pay attention to the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN. Each morning we woke up to kids yelling and running in the hall but each time it turned out to be house keeping crew apparently acting like children. Over all this was a uncomfortable and unpleasant place to sleep for a couple nights. VERY disappointed. Many other options in the area for next time. read more
