They don't look very hard for the tag and don't bother to check if you're a guest
Edward P.

Stayed 2 nights. 9/19&9/20. Checked out this morning and car was gone. Mgmt towed the vehicle claiming the little piece of paper they give you was not visible on the dash. I clearly remember having the tag on my dash. No effort to verify me as a guest since they don't record your license plate when you check in. Another couple was at the front desk this morning with the same issue. So this hotel towed 2 guest vehicles without even trying to see if they were guests. Great way to treat registered guests paying $350 a night. This reeks of scam. Do not stay here unless you want to risk getting towed. Big fail for this Hampton Inn as we are Hhonors and usually book at Hampton Inns. Other than the towing the room was good, the restaurant pizza and bar was great. The staff were all courteous and helpful. Please change your parking policy to protect registered guests and we might just stay again when in Virginia Beach. . Update: Hilton HHonors took care of the tow charges and refunded the points. Bless you Hilton Hhonors.

Nice Hotel on the Beach with plenty of amenities, close to restaurants, shops and entertainment. The Lady Clerk at the front desk was friendly and let us check in early because our room was ready. She gave us 2 free bottles of Water. The rooms are your average size, it was clean and has several outlets and USB outlets throughout the room which was a plus. They have a Bar and Brick Oven Pizza Restaurant on-site. The lobby and lounge area is inviting and there is free Coffee in the lounge. I highly recommended this Hotel.

Loved this hotel. Right on the beach. All rooms have a balcony and a view of the ocean. I watched the snow fall on the beach it was amazing. Definitely want to stay here again

My wife and I come here every year for our VA Beach vacation. The location is perfect if you want to be in the thick of things on the boardwalk. Walk right out the door and you're on the beach. We arrived early and tried to check in at around 12:00 but didn't have high expectations since it's summer. We felt bad for the young lady at the desk, though. She was alone fielding calls and checking everyone out. They really should get some help for her. Anyway, we chilled at the beach for a couple of hours and came back to check in. They had plenty of carts to bring your bags up to the room. We were in room 311 and it was clean and far enough from the elevators and ice machine, so it was quiet. The tub could use re-caulking. The elevators are like ovens, though. Not sure why there's no ac in them. Free breakfast was pretty basic: Eggs, sausage and potatoes. Plus breads, waffles and fruit, cereals and coffee. Before Covid, they used to have fresh green juices. Not sure why they stopped that because they were delicious. We stopped at the bar on our last day there and we're delighted to talk to the bartender, Diamond. She made a mean Pina Colada that was delicious and she was so sweet. Thanks, Diamond! All in all, we had a great stay and we'll be back next year for sure to rack up those Hilton points!

Spent Mother's Day weekend on the beach and it was wonderful. I was so grateful to reserve a hotel with rooms where we could overlook the ocean. The staff was so welcoming and the bar made some pretty good margaritas to start our fun weekend. I think they are still going through some renovations, but no issues at all. Room was clean, beds were comfy, I appreciated the walk-in shower. The balcony could have been attendees to a bit better. Parking was easy and didn't cost, if I recall correctly. We did not take part in the pool. It seemed small and it was indoors. This hotel had easy access to everything and the Neptune statue was right outside the back of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again!

Good: location, friendly staff, decent breakfast Ugly: outdated, room was dirty. Smelled like wet dog, found a clump of hair in the bed (not my hair color), sticky headboard (don't want to know what it is), sticky bathroom floor, itchy bedsheet, we ended up leaving early.

I decided to do a November beach vacation for a couple of days. All of the rooms face the oceanfront and the view of the beach and ocean are awesome. The room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. The staff was very friendly, every employee I encountered from groundskeeper to front desk to housekeeping to the employees serving breakfast greeted you with a smile. The only issues I had were the bed was very hard and the pillows were too soft. Hampton is is serving limited breakfast with a combination of hot foods and cold items. Server dishes up the hot selection which changed each day, think corned beef hash, chicken sausage, eggs and pre-made omelets. Self serve items included shelled boiled eggs, yogurt milk and orange juice. Next time I visit Virginia Beach, I definitely know where to stay.

Great place to stay at, very close to the beach only a 5 mine walk from the hotel to the beach. Hotel was very clean as well as great receptionist and good breakfast as well. I did however get stuck in the elevator for about 10 mins, but did manage to get out after calling the hotel on top of pressing the button in the elevator. Overall tho good hotel.(besides the elevators)

I came the day after the 4th of July. I was hoping to get a room on a higher floor but the hotel was completely sold out. The front desk tried really hard to find me a room with better view than the first floor but it just couldn't be done. In the end it worked out nicely because we were able to walk out of our back door and head right to the beach. Room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Private parking located on-site. No breakfast and restaurant was closed due to covid.

Great location, great ocean/beach view, dog friendly and helpful staff. TERRIBLE internet speed -- at this location, they do not offer premium fast internet like other Hilton hotels do. Do not come here if you need internet connection to work during your stay.

Ocean view double bed room with balcony.

Conveniently located right near the board walk and steps away from the Neptune statue. Ocean view room was breath taking. Rooms are clean, a little outdated but still comfortable. Rooms have a frig and microwave. Bathroom is stocked and they have full size bath essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). The facility has a bar and provides breakfast. Overall I would recommend this Hilton hotel for your stay in Virginia Beach.

In need of a quick getaway to breath something other than this city air, I decided to take a quick trip home to visit the beach. I chose the Hampton Inn Virginia Beach North because of its convenient location on the beach (and distance away from the craziness) and also because I had read that the hotel had recently had a full makeover. Most of the pics on here are deceiving since they don't show the rooms after renovations, which is why I'm here! I would recommend looking at their Facebook for more updates/pictures. I booked the King Study with the Chaise Lounge and it was spacious enough for 2-3 people. I wish I had taken pictures of the bathroom, but I liked that it had a walk in shower instead of the shower/tub combo. What I love most about this hotel is that ALL the rooms have a view of the ocean!! It was so nice to wake up every morning to the view of the calm ocean and be able to scope out a spot on the beach before the crowds! I should also mention that parking is free in their lot. Besides the room, the staff was great. Before arriving at the hotel I called to see if I could check in early. They let me know that my room was being worked on and that they would text me when it was ready. We checked in with Katie who was super friendly and provided top notch customer service. She even sent us a follow up text to make sure the room was to our standards. The hotel requires individuals to wear masks when walking through the building and the staff was constantly cleaning. They even adapted their daily breakfast to post COVID life by only offering pre-packaged items such as muffins, yogurt, cereal, etc.. I took away one star because the toilet could have been cleaned a little better-- but besides that I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return!

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Overall, we had a wonderful three night stay at the Moxy Oceanfront. We selected this spot because…read moreit was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

Even though it was a quick trip, everyone felt truly recharged thanks to all the little conveniences included in our stay. Located on the Cavalier resort property, we took full advantage of the beachfront access. It was so nice to wake up and just walk out to the beach for some vitamin sea and then when it got too hot, hang out in the pool. My daughter's loved the little water loungers and spent at least an hour, pretending they were seals slipping and sliding away on an iceburg. They also had cute little activities like mermaid and pirate meet and greets that my littlest one enjoyed. Having Tacos and Tequila right next door made a quick and delicious pool lunch and the kiddos (especially my oldest) was obsessed with the made-to-order breakfast that was included in our stay. The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
