Reserved king bedroom, check in at 4 pm on Monday night. They were out of King beds, got a double bedroom. Beds were soft and lumpy, dipped in the center of the bed. Beds really needs to be replaced! There was maintenance work outside the balcony few rows from our room, very loud drilling to fix the balcony, painting and power washing started at 8 am-6 pm. For a Marriott we were disappointed with the noise and the wearing in our room. Also there was no breakfast /coffee/bar service.(closed) Location is nicely on the beach/boardwalk. read more

The room was comfortable overall, but the old, noisy AC sometimes disrupted sleep. The sliding balcony door was stiff and needed two adults to operate. During the day, there was no on-site food or bar; Starbucks was only open in the mornings and lacked a proper menu. To be transparent, I booked online rather than by phone, as it's difficult to reach someone by phone. I paid extra for breakfast at the time of booking, but it didn't meet expectations. The staff was inconsistent -- on one morning, no hot breakfast was available, and the cook was unavailable. I was also told the bar might open midweek, mainly on weekends, depending on hotel occupancy. I chose this hotel expecting full access to all advertised amenities year-round, but only a few were available. The biggest disappointment was the lack of a safe in my room. As a Marriott Rewards member, I'm very disappointed and unlikely to return, as it's not worth earning points or being loyal to this brand. Parking costs $20 per car during your stay. read more

They "nickled and dimed" us for everything. They charged $19 a day for parking. $20 for breakfast. $5-8 for coffee. We are used to getting free parking, and breakfast when we've stayed on the VA Beach oceanfront. This is their 2501 Atlantic Avenue property. This property doesn't deserve the Marriott brand name. It is old, tired, run down, and disregards basic safety protocols. I mentioned to the front desk that combustible materials are not allowed to be stored in fire stairwells and was told "we always do this." I mentioned it again the following morning to a different clerk and she told me that she would pass along the information to the general manager. In the four nights I was there, nothing changed. My room was dated, with significant stains on the sofa. There bathroom was clean, but dated. The air conditioner unit functioned very well but was loud and dirty. I'm a die-hard Marriott fan and will go out of my way to stay at a Marriott property if there's one even somewhat close to my destination if at all possible. I've never reviewed a hotel before but given my poor experience at this Marriott, wanted to ensure others knew what to expect before booking this one. I came here with a small group for work and was thrilled to see that all rooms were oceanfront and the boardwalk was right outside the hotel. The rooms were fine if you can get past the massive gaps in the door to the hallway. My room didn't have any shower gel in the container and even though I asked for it to be refilled at the front desk, I had the pleasure of shuttling the bar of hand soap back and forth from the sink to the shower instead as it was never refilled. A water main broke which caused us to have no water for several hours and no hot water at all until the next day. To be honest, I could have gotten past this with no issue if everything in the lobby and for our meeting wasn't such a hot mess. The restaurant in the lobby was out of most breakfast items the first day. The bar in the hotel isn't open on Tuesdays (what??). The toilets by the lobby don't flush. The reason? They take 3 minutes (minimum) to refill. When asked, the front desk said the toilets were up to Marriott standards. For the full length of our meeting, we had the pleasure of going to our rooms every time we had to use the restroom because we would never know if the toilet had enough time to recover between guests. The fan in the meeting room was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. We were told it couldn't be turned off, which meant it was always loud and either too hot or too cold. The refrigerator in the market was also broken, so while there were some drinks in it, they were all warm. So - on a strip with many other hotels and at least two other Marriotts within a few blocks (Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn), choose somewhere else to stay. Most anywhere else will be better than this place. Do better, Marriott. read more

Ridiculously unprofessional. I was there on a business trip and my company gave them the credit card to bill at check out. They instead billed my personal card despite several attempts to confirm that I WAS NOT TO BE CHARGED with the very confused man at check in. Glad I checked my statement. The manager was also incredibly unprofessional and wouldn't simply bill the other card because they are disorganized and couldn't find it on file. Absolutely never again. On top of that the inside is disgusting. Old AC units, uncomfortable bed, dark small bathrooms. Absolutely not worth staying in. Stay at the Hilton instead! read more

This is the second time I've stayed here for a business trip and had a disappointing visit each time. Same problem that is happening tonight happened last time I was here. The TV has very poor signal reception. It tiles, audio breaks-up, and a message appears "Please Wait...". I've called the front desk twice in the last half hour and no one answers. My husband and I stayed one night at the Virginia Beach oceanfront Marriott for our anniversary. I Checked in easily online with the app. Front desk was extremely polite and helpful. No problems finding or entering our room. Room and bathroom were very clean and had a comfortable bed. The sliding door to the balcony was an absolute nightmare! The handle was broken and the door is extremely heavy! We would've very much liked to sit in the available chairs on the balcony to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean (the sole reason for us picking that particular hotel on the beach!) My husband had to try to heave the door open, only to get it open around 6 inches. Only to then barely get it closed. Absolutely ridiculous!! So upsetting that we weren't able to sit on the balcony to enjoy a beautiful sunrise. We would've suggested a new room but the hotel was fully booked. The pool was a huge disappointment. There was a sign on the door stating the pool heater was broken and the water would be cold. I'm glad we didn't have our hearts set on swimming or getting in the hot tub because there wasn't one of those either. Also, parking absolutely sucks!! If you can find a space, they're very close together and we were really hoping no one would ding our doors. We opted to walk 6 blocks instead of driving because we knew we wouldn't have a parking spot when we returned. They offer a parking garage down the street but who wants to walk that far to get to their hotel. read more

Located right in the middle of a perfect stretch of Virginia Beach, this hotel has really competitive rates with all the Marriott amenities. I was able to get a room upgrade to a Presidential Suite on the top floor. Every room has a fantastic window/balcony with picture perfect views of the ocean and beach. If you wake up early enough, you can catch the sun rising. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and beds were quite soft and comfy. It seems like they were remodeled recently with smart TVs, great wifi, and a nice restaurant in the lobby. read more

Arrived around 2AM after a day of flying and the staff was no where to be found. We waited 20 minutes and knocked on the front office door. We called the hotel and finally someone came out to help. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a vehicle and said no. The next day, we had family come visit for the day and asked the front desk for a parking pass, to which someone responded that the person from the night prior had already added. Which, was a mistake since we said we didn't have our own car. This is clearly an older Marriott and it needs some updating. The floor in our bathroom was pulling up and the corner of the tub was moldy. We paid for the breakfast buffet the one day we were there and they had moldy bagels out. It was just not very appetizing. I've stayed at a lot of Marriott hotels and would not recommend this one, especially since it's at more of a premium price than other hotels around the area. read more

We had an outstanding stay at this property. While it is conveniently located in the middle of all the activity on the boardwalk, it was very quiet at night. The views of the balcony are wonderful. Pods of dolphins could be seen from our room. Sabrina at the FD was extremely hospitable and accommodating. We very much appreciated her upgrading us to a one bedroom suite. Despite being a Lifetime Titanium member, upgrades don't happen very often for us. I even observed Sabrina taking the time to explain the Marriott Bonvoy rewards program and sign up a customer. Hopefully, some of the mattresses and furniture in the rooms will be replaced in the low season. Overall, the hotel is in very good shape, despite the wear and tear that comes with a high-volume oceanfront location. We will definitely stay here again. read more

This hotel is absolutely amazing! Super clean, friendly staff who are willing to help out with anything you need. We booked a king suite and were absolutely blown away by the size, balcony and the view! 2 TVs made it perfect for my husband and I and my son to watch whatever we wanted to. You could log in to your streaming services like Netflix or YouTube (you're automatically signed out at check out) or watch select cable channels, like espn, nbc, and hgtv. Beach access from the lobby is perfect and convenient, 10 steps and you're on the sand! Bistro area for breakfast is a little small, but clean. We took our breakfast up to the room to eat. Our room was on the end of the hallway/ building so it was super quiet except from the shared door between our room and the neighbors bathroom. We were lucky enough to have 3 different neighbors on 3 different nights and all were quiet. Right below our room outside the building was a naval courtyard and even tho they had nightly performances of a video and history that we could clearly hear, it went quiet by 10pm and that worked for us. Barely heard any street noise at any point of the day or night. 2 ac units let us control the temp in each room of the suite. The shower was clean and included upscale Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner and body wash, pure heaven! The shampoo ran out during our stay and all I had to do, since there wasn't any daily room service due to covid, was ask the front desk and she gave me a brand new one. As of this review, masks were optional for vaccinated guests in any area of the building. Parking lot at the hotel filled up quickly but there is an additional parking garage about a block away, very easy to get to, and secure. We could see our car from our room. Parking is $10 a day and charged to your room. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and we will definitely be returning next time we are in VA beach. read more

I had to stay here in town June 2-7, and I stayed here because of my good experiences with Marriott hotels thus far. If I am being honest, I realize that it costs more to stay here because of the beach access among its amenities; however it is not worth what they charge per night. First, to be able to justify charging as much as they do, everything should be massively up to par. Check-in was nice, no issues there. I was on the 10th floor so I loved the view and being able to see all the goings-on up and down the boardwalk. The room itself wasn't anything overly special to write home about; in fact I think the rooms could use an upgrade. The plastic chairs/table on the balcony were dirty (we cleaned them), but then we found that we couldn't enjoy the balcony as much due to a swath of insects that kept flying up that way. Next, as for the room itself, bed was comfortable, TV was nice, and I am glad you're able to angle it so you can watch it from your bed. Quite enough room if you're staying a week like I did for your clothes. There's a mini-fridge, but I was highly surprised that there was no microwave in the room. As much as this room costs, there should be a microwave in the room. The iron worked, but the ironing board was horrible. It was old and rusty, so we ironed all our clothes ASAP so as to not have to keep opening it. Last, bathroom and sink area were nice, no issues there. To sum it all up, the room was ok, nothing overly special, and for as much as the room costs, I think minor improvements could improve the customer experience. Some suggestions: * Invest in screen doors for the rooms. Sometimes, you cannot have the room door open all day because of insects, so that would help. * Second, guest safety needs to be more of a premium. The beach access door next to the pool did not have a locking mechanism, so anyone (namely non-guests) could come in and out at will. * Third, offer minor incentives to guests from a food standpoint. The food is expensive...I did better going to the other food places up and down Atlantic Avenue. * Make sure ironing boards are fully functional * Let people know up front that there will be a hold on your credit card for "incidentals". I did not have a problem with it, but I did not know about it until the next day. * If you're going to have a $9/day parking policy, it should be enforced. There were a lot of cars that did not have tags in their windows each night. That all said, the employees we encountered were very nice and doing a good job overall. I would definitely consider staying there again, just make minor improvements. read more

Like other Marriott properties along the ocean front that I've enjoyed recently, every room at the Courtyard Oceanfront/South has a balcony and faces the beach. There's something to be said about looking out the window and watching the sunrise as you get ready for the day. Smaller parking lot than the others and the overflow parking deck is across the street a half block away. Otherwise, it's the same excellent Marriott layout and configuration with a comfortable bed, large flat TV, speedy free Internet and a small fridge in the room (the fridge had a loud motor on it, consider unplugging it if you're not using it). Overall we were pleased with our choice when staying in Virginia Beach. The hotel lobby was very clean, parking was cheap, and we were located continently on the board walk. The room had a great view of the ocean, and was a great size. Our only complaint was the ceiling in the bathroom and the shower itself were showing serious signs of wear and tear. My husband and I stay at a lot of Marriott hotels, and this has to be one of the worst by far for several reasons: 1) can we talk about cleanliness? I had to call the front desk for extra blankets and pillows, and as soon as my hand touched the phone, I immediately regretted it: the phone was so sticky and grimy! The other phone in the room? Not working. Ewwwwww. I had to go SCRUB my hands to get the sticky funk off of them. 2) maintenance issues: hotel room door seal is falling apart, making the door not close completely (enough to be locked). When I mentioned it to a person here when we checked in, he simply assured me it was fine. In what world does a customer's concern get so carelessly dismissed? Bathtub doesn't drain properly. I thought about giving my kids a bath, but when I tried to use the lever for the tub seal, it just about fell off, and eventually one of the screws fell out. 3) finally, customer service: Nikki from the front desk told me to talk to a supervisor when I explained all of the above to her. It was clear she had better things to do. Originally I had called her bc I needed the aforementioned pillows and blanket, which took 45 minutes to arrive. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! read more

This hotel is situated right on the beach. It seems to me that most of the rooms face the ocean, so I believe it will be a good chance that you get a great view. The rooms were a pretty good size. They were nice enough. Nothing overly luxurious but definitely livable for almost anyone. I can't tell you what an amazing feeling it is to sleep with the balcony door open, hearing only the waves crashing on the beach below. It makes for quite a rejuvenating sleep. The staff were nice, they smiled and made us feel welcome. We didn't really use any of the amenities as we came in late, grabbed dinner on the boardwalk, then went right to sleep and left pretty early the next morning. While walking around the neighborhood looking for restaurants, we did notice that there were many hotels that were not on the beach but across the street. We saw places like Travelodge in Motel 6 but we weren't able to go inside any of them but they all look very dingy from the outside. I'd say this place is probably your best choice. read more

We have stayed here before and dealt with some of the less so nice stuff just because of it's awesome location and cost. However, last week was rather abysmal As I said, the location can't be beat. And oceanfront rooms let you leave the sliding glass doors open and fall asleep to the waves. That's about it for the positives. The cleanliness is maybe 3 stars. They refuse to clean your room daily "due to Covid," but I find that absurd if you're staying there for a week. We had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper, take out our own trash, etc. The maid refused to vacuum our room. In the past we got extra points every day we refused maid service - no points to be had here! THe towel bar fell off, the mattress cover was torn and ragged (I know this b/c I had to change our own sheets) and the regular floor maintenance was disgusting. The first night and day SUCKED. Starting around 3am we both awoke to a loud knocking noise. We were unable to go back to sleep and I was working from the room all day. We called the front desk at 5am and "they will get right on it." My husband visited the front desk around 630am and they said "we contacted maintenance." I visited the front desk at 9:15am and she said "yeah, we have had a lot of complaints. probably the wind might have knocked a gutter loose, might not be anything we can do about it. My chief engineer just stepped out, but I'll let you know what he says." Horrible attitude and pretty much refused to make eye contact. She got my Room number, etc. NEVER HEARD FROM HER. The knocking stopped around 5pm. I even emailed corporate who said they contacted the hotel - still no communication from there. You would think they would be more concerned about a Gold Elite members experience, but I guess not. Fix your customer service and do some updating. Your hotel is falling apart in many ways. read more

Very disappointed in the Courtyard Marriott brand here - I was in room 315 for 4 nights. Room was very outdated and overall depressing - The carpet and furnishings looked like it was something from the 80s that you would expect at a comfort inn. I went across the street and bought some Lysol wipes and wipe down the entire room and it was gross. The location was very convenient hence why I stayed and avoided the aggravation of changing hotels. I would never recommend the two courtyard Marriott oceanfront hotels here in Virginia Beach. read more

This hotel is really conveniently located on the waterfront but has some limited parking out front. It was already packed when we arrived. The front desk staff last night was very unhelpful. Jazmine gave us the wrong info and then pretended she didn't and that it was our fault. Then it was hard to get the parking pass from her to park in the overflow garage. When i came back from dinner out i needed the Wi-Fi info but saw she was still there and decided I would rather just use my own data plan than talk to her again. The deak staff this morning was really nice though. Maybe he could help coach Jazmine? Otherwise, the room was clean, neat and cozy and had a great view of the ocean. The location is prime for the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon and Beach 5K. However, it's quite a walk to all the famous eateries and live bands, which are located at the Rudee Inlet end of the Boardwalk. The entire boardwalk stretches just over 3 miles and this hotel is about 1 mile from the very north end. On a humid, sweltering day, it's not a fun walk. The hotel itself has a nice lobby and front desk reception is attentive and professional. There is a seating area, beach access, and a nice little bar and snack station. They also have a restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was okay. I preferred eating outside of the hotel. The rooms are where this hotel lost its luster for me. Upon first appearances, the rooms are average, with a bed, desk, couch, and small table. There was also a wall-unit air conditioner (very loud), and sliding glass door to a small, beach-facing patio. The view was beautiful, especially with the sun rising over the ocean. However, there were some things that made me go, "ew": - The carpet near the door and closet was full of sand. - The sheets had two dead bugs in them - One of the towels appeared to have feces on it - Pubic hair (or massive amounts of very black, coarse body hair) was all over the shower wall! When I reported it to the front desk, I said in the quietest voice possible, "I have a problem in my room." The front desk person almost argumentatively retorted, "You don't have a problem. You have an opportunity for a solution which has not yet been identified." Okay, look, Mr. Associate... I understand you went through training and probably a few meetings where that was drilled into your head, but it is for you to know and NOT for you to state to customers. If you don't want to use the word "problem," that is your prerogative, but I had A FEW bleeping problems with the room. Needless to say, when I outlined the issues above, he didn't verbally retract his statement, but his facial expression said, "Those ARE problems!" I left the hotel for a few hours while they "solutioned my opportunities." When I returned, the same associate made it a point to call me over to the front desk and assured me that not only was my room taken care of, but that TWO managers actually walked through the room to ensure quality. Based on what I saw, they got 50% of it taken care of: - The towels were removed and replaced; - The bed appeared to be re-made (the bugs were gone and the sheets seemed fresh); BUT - Although a vacuum and air freshener were obviously used, there was still plenty of sand in the carpet (I resorted to putting on socks or flip-flops to walk anywhere in the room); AND - There was still ALL the pubic hair in the shower that had been there before! I took the fresh towels, wiped it down myself, then called for yet ANOTHER new set of towels. There are definitely lingering "opportunities to solution" at this place, but I don't think I'll be putting myself in a position to help identify them again in the future. read more

Balling on a budget? A King Suite here on a top floor will make you feel like Diddy running the city! Just make sure you get a corner suite. You'll be popping bottles of Andre from the balcony before sunset. Ok, so maybe it's not mega glamorous. There are no doormen, valet, room service or anything of the such. But you will have a clean and comfortable stay here. The lobby has areas to lounge aand work stations as well as a little cafe for short order foods and coffee. After hours, there is an area by the front desk where you can buy a few snacks and beverages as well. My suite was awesome and incredibly spacious. The beach side room included a desk, dining room table with 4 chairs, kitchen space including a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker all just a few steps away from the balcony. The bathroom, separated into two rooms - toilet and bath in one, sink and vanity in another. The bedroom was really simple, but spacious as well with a flat screen TV and little more. Another bonus: free wifi AND free parking. I will warn you however, that they do not mess around with check-out time. Literally three minutes after my check-out time, I had someone knocking on my door. Luckily, I was ready to walk out with my luggage, but wow - can you let a sista breathe for a second? read more

Stayed there over the weekend, and it was one the worst hotels I've ever stayed in - period. We went as a group of 5 families, and each one of us experienced something different. My sister was given keys to their room, only to find other people there already. They gave her a different room, and the same thing happens again - room already has guests in. My other sister's room shower didn't work and was leaking everywhere. Our room smelled like smoke and was in a very bad condition. The only reason I am giving it two stars is that the staff were nice and were trying to help. They were obviously understaffed, and on the day we checked in, there was only one housekeeping lady in charge of the whole hotel that was fully booked but she kept a smile through it all. The pool is under construction, and if you are thinking the hotel will provide you with towels for the beach, look elsewhere. They gave us some towels because the pool wasn't working but they made sure we know that was the norm. Very disappointed this is a Marriott hotel - never again. read more

Staying for a work trip, and I will definitely be returning for a rebook. Oceanfront room is perfect! Only a couple blocks from the Poseidon statue area, and a nice walk to the pier area. Situated near tons of mini golf, food, shopping, and easy access to get out of town on the interstate. The boardwalk is easily accessible and there is a bistro and bar on the main level for food and drinks from 630-close to midnight. The rooms are spacious and the housekeeping does an impeccable job. Price is reasonable for summer time ocean front and I would recommend this location. Room has a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker! read more

Stayed here on a business trip r.ecently and I have to say, the area, the hotel, and the room really made for a very good experience. Granted, we were here in the winter, but still...I could see this place being a "place to be" in better weather days. I believe all the rooms here face the beach, which is the first bonus. Indoor pool and hot tub; check. Workout center is open 24 hours a day...no pull-up bar tho =/ The bistro for breakfast is great, and they also have a breakfast buffet for $10.95, which is very decent at that price. And a starbucks on site? Count me in! Room: 1) Standing shower, no tub...which happens to be JUST like home, so i totally felt comfortable here. Only thing that sucked was that the shower curtain wasn't low enough so water got out of the shower area and I had to throw some extra towels there to dry it up. I'm sure it was because it was so cold, but it took a good minute or so for the water to reach hot status. This only happened in the morning tho...at night it was fine. 2) Room is pretty big and well...roomy. I had a suite, so I'm not sure what kind of other rooms they have here. 3) Internet; very fast, and STRONG service. And you don't even have to log in, which makes connecting very convenient. Staff, VERY friendly and welcoming. Were quick to offer help inasfar as suggestions on places to eat and see. Parking spots are pretty narrow...seems to be a thing around here, but it's free and I saw an overflow parking lot somewhere nearby. There's a bunch of restaurants walking distance away too...and may I suggest Mojito Cafe...mm mm MMMMM! I'm definitely comin back. read more

After a long night of partying at the ocean front I crashed here. This is a my favorite hotel at the ocean front. The prices are reasonable and to say the staff isn't accommodating would be an understatement. Did I mention that the view is great from the 10th floor. Rooms are extremely spacious so when you have a bunch of friends passed out all over the place you don't have to worry about stepping on them. :) Parking while tight in the main lot is also available around the block in their own parking garage. Your room key works the gate. It's only a short walk from the hotel. If you're looking for a place to stay for the weekend at the oceanfront I suggestion checking them out. read more

This is the nicest courtyard I've been to. Manager Randy upgraded us to a suite (platinum elite preferred members+black card holders) and this was well worth staying here over the other options we considered (Hilton, northern CY, Residences). The suite is huge--mini kitchen with coffee maker, toaster, fridge, microwave and wet bar. The hotel even provides dishes and flatware. The room was clean with nice, new furniture and upgrades. The look is clean and modern, and there is a great deal of space. There is a huge closet at the entrance, mini kitchen and table with four chairs for meals or snacks. The living room is well proportioned, with a sleeper sofa and two comfortable chairs, as well as one of the two balconies. French doors separate the bedroom, and there is a second balcony overlooking the ocean. The 11th floor is great because you don't hear the boardwalk noise with the doors closed, although the passing fighter jets are quite loud. I'm not sure this property provides breakfast vouchers for platinum elite members, but we haven't asked because the phones have been broken since we arrived. Housekeeping was here early, just as we were leaving for the beach, and the housekeeping staff member brought us two little chairs for our 6 and 2 year old to borrow while at the beach (isn't that amazing service?!). Alice did an excellent job servicing the room--so clean!! The pool is small but decent, but I advise you to bring your own towels for the beach. They provide towels, but they are cheap and small--you would need 3 per person reasonably.... Front desk staff is friendly and warm and I can't say enough good things about the valet/bellman staff member. Not sure what his role is exactly but he is extremely helpful and welcoming. Other nice perks? Free wifi, bistro restaurant with good looking options (although we haven't eaten here) and it's right on the boardwalk, steps from the beach. We are right next to one of the music stages about 15 blocks north of the playground and midway/carnival area. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. Overall, I highly recommend this property, especially if you are traveling with children and looking for a clean, nice, reliable place for your family! read more

Good location. I never have great luck with Courtyards, and this one was no exception. The air conditioning in my first room was barely functioning. Maintenance was rather condescending, however Michael (manager I assume?) was proactive in checking on me, then switching my room and moving my belongings. The second room was updated and comfortable. Pool was closed, which would have been far more of an issue if I were traveling with my family as many other guests were. Parking was automatically charged despite telling the front desk I did not have a vehicle. Breakfast could not be paid via card due to computers being down. Buffet is completely serve yourself except to pay. While the overall stay could be "meh", I'd stay again in a pinch if I had to. read more

NO SERVICE AT ALL - NO HOUSEKEEPING, NO BELLMAN, AND (DURING OUR STAY) NO RUNNING WATER! EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING! Nothing like a hotel full of people not washing their hands during COVID.... This might as well be a motel for the services provided, rather than a hotel. This has nothing to do with the rooms, which were just fine. The balcony view was perfect to see the beach and wake up to ocean sounds, and the location was good. But everything else in terms of basic hotel service was SHOCKING in terms of how little they do (basically nothing to make your stay comfortable). We only stayed 2 nights; one full day; and were "working from home" during our trip so would go back to the room during meetings. On the one day we were there, there was NO RUNNING WATER FROM 11AM - 6PM. The most inopportune times - Can you imagine being salty and dirty after a long day at the beach and not being able to shower or wash the sand off? Can you imagine knowing hundreds of people are staying in a hotel during THE COVID PANDEMIC and are not washing their hands for seven hours? Can you imagine them choosing prime day time for shutting off the water instead of nighttime? Everyone at the front desk had different stories. They apparently were supposed to tell us at check-in about the water shutoff (they didn't), they were supposed to send a memo in email about the water shutoff (they didn't). We called the front desk a dozen times and were told we would be called back (we weren't). We were supposed to get 10% off one night at the hotel (we didn't). During this no water timeframe, I came back to our room at 4pm and noticed no one had come from housekeeping. So I called the front desk and they said they DON'T DO HOUSEKEEPING!! Apparently, since June 2022 they stopped housekeeping altogether (and the guy said it to me like I was supposed to know this). What kind of hotel doesn't do housekeeping? Not even replace the towels? At a BEACH hotel where you are covered in sand. When we arrived, we asked for a bellman (both my friend and I have chronic pain and couldn't carry our items). The receptionist (Jaime) was so rude he said "we don't do that. And I'm the only one working" in just a snippy attitude. The lady when we checked out was equally as rude about the bellman situation saying "this is a courtyard marriott" like it was absurd that I would even ask the question. I have never ever in my life stayed at a hotel without the basics. And with such rude staff. We were lied to by everyone that worked there; all different stories. We were told the water was back on for example and it wasn't. When it did turn back on after a full day of being off, there was no hot water. I had to take a work call covered in sand and looking a disaster. I could not recommend staying somewhere, ANYWHERE else, any more. I am still waiting for a "supervisor" to call me (it's been 4 days). read more

Oh Marriott, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. #1. You treat me like royalty. I am an awards member and you treat me like ..... like coming home #2. You have ALL ocean view rooms. GENIOUS #3. You put me on the TOP floor- O M G. It was cold but I opened my balcony doors just to hear the waves all night #4. Your staff. No problem for me to have a late check out. Ahhhhhhhhhh Every Marriott is different. Some better and some worse... but I loved every minute of my stay... the interent worked!! ... there was a nice little area for breakfast.... you have bud lights in your Market...... The TV's and rooms need some minor upgrading... some of your hotels have it made. But who's worrying about that when looking out your window can do it for you... right? :) I was here on business and my co-workers joke that my middle name is MARRIOTT.....but I just can't help myself ..... I hope you are avalable my next trip out :) read more

It is evident that this hotel has recently been renovated and it looks great! From the lobby to the room the entire facility was very clean and the staff were extremely pleasant. They offer complimentary breakfast, have a Starbucks in the lobby, as well as a bar! My fiancé and I stayed here for 10days and the only thing I wished would have been available would be a laundry facility onsite. Other than that overall awesome stay! read more
