Snowy day but ive stayed here before and the mountain view is amazing.

Its as if the staff here were dipped in a vat of HAPPINESS. Front desk staff are amazing. Happy, upbeat, energetic and into ensuring your happiness while staying here. Management is as well from the interactions I saw amongst them. We all know happy employess are a reflection of their management and it shows here. Even the room maids are pleasant and say hello, goodbye, have a great day. I was already happy to be up here visiting my sister and the stay at Hampton made it even better. Its located on a property which basically is a huge shopping center but was designed to not feel like that. The Hotel faces the mountains and the river with shopping behind it across a little driveway like road so you don't feel like you are in a shopping center. There you will find Wegmans, Perkins and a few other stores you might like to try.It was really well planned by either the locals or the owner of the center. So if you'd like to have items you need from home they are only steps away. Behind the shopping is the main drag of Wmsport and its a really nice area to walk, shop and enjoy. Clean? Can we say immaculate loud enough? My ususal washcloth wash of the bathroom floor before putting my tootsies on them came up clean. I saw them mopping the vending area floors, business area floors and the room bathroom floors both days here. That was unusual for me because I think other places it seems its like only a weekly event. The Business center from where I write this review is well equipped. Internet access is EASY. Bigger monitors make the experience good. Pool area is beautiful , clean and well decorated. Now you will laugh when you see what was the biggest surprise for me here. The LAUNDRY ROOM. Yes, I said room. Its huge and well set-up. There is even a leather sofa if you'd like to sit with your wash. I am by and large a huge fan of Hamptons but this one surpassed expectations. I took plenty of pics.

My favorite hotel to stay in. We stay here at least four times a year. The staff is first class, the hotel itself is clean and well decorated.

I initially thought it was weird to not have a front desk but I didn't need it. With my personal code in hand, I walked up the steps, opened the exterior door, entered the vestibule, put in my code, and the door unlocked. The same code was my room key. Rather than walking the stately stairs to the second floor, I ascended to the second floor using the elevator. Very smooth ride. The Council Room was just WOW. Hardwood floors, 6 huge windows behind the bed, chandelier, barn door bureau, glass barn door shower, wall mounted tv, iron & full size ironing board, microwave, and coffee pot, As a light sleeper, when checking in, I heard the clock tower chime and saw the full length window blinds (not black out curtains). With the firm mattress and plethora of pillows, I died and woke up refreshed. Tons of food options in walking distance. Ample lot and street parking. Minor inconvenience: no nightstand with a plug access to charge my phone overnight. With a little Feng shui, I brought a side table closer to the bed and had a long cord. Problem solved. Speaking of problems, if you have any issues, the phone number for 24 hour help is posted in the vestibule and in the rooms. Looking forward to trying out other rooms on future visits.

Such a FUNKY hotel!…read more This was a lucky find. We prefer unique and interesting places to stay, and City Hall Grand did not disappoint. Highly recommended. It's a 100+ year old municipal building, obviously not intended for lodging, yet the owners made it work. It's a bit of a time capsule with updated decor and amenities. We walked around every floor, soaking up the architecture and millwork of a bygone era. The entire place felt clean and safe. We stayed in the Mail Room (I've been told you start there, and work your way up). As described, it's spacious and bright, with a huge bathroom. However, the sunset mentioned in the brochure was obscured by the building next door, because June. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable, the room was immaculate, the fridge and microwave were handy, the digital thermostat worked as expected. We didn't use the elevator, or try the restaurant. Wi-Fi was a little sketchy in the room, but stone/concrete walls make it challenging. We lounged on a sofa in one of the common areas to play Wordle in the morning. Yes, there is no front desk. That doesn't bother us, since we've stayed in many self-serve hotels. We never had to call anyone, but texts were promptly answered. Yes, some of the rooms don't have windows, and that detail is clearly spelled out in each room description. It takes a special kind of asshat to write a negative review on a place they've never even been to, or complain about the sun rising in the morning, or century old windows not being soundproof. Seasoned travelers bring earplugs and eye masks, just in case. The location is very convenient, within walking distance of almost everything, and quiet at night. Parking was plentiful and free. Life is short, don't waste it staying in generic little boxes.

Based on our stay on the sixth floor, part of those renovations should be reducing the number of rooms and combining a couple of rooms to make one decent size room. And as small as the rooms are, the bathrooms are absolutely minuscule. In Ours, the toilet seat did not fit the bowl properly, and there was one light above the mirror which you could never use to put makeup on! There was a closet in the room, whose door would not shut. The pillows on the bed were atrociously thin. The bed itself was very comfortable. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was good. We went back after the game for a drink. Someone needs to tell the bartender how to make a Cosmo: it was served to me in an old-fashioned glass with tons of ice. I'm sure he can be trained better. All in all, we survived, considering that it was only for one night. Let's see what happens after their renovations are finished.dinner
