I had to stay here for nearly a week and it wasn't okay. The pro is the owners are decent. The cons-there's exposed wires throughout the rooms. I've heard popping and even seen sparks. The cops are here at least once a week for drugs or criminal activity. And finally, the older gentleman living here tries to proposition females. I've seen that this is a problem that's been going on. Reported and I don't recommend. read more

Budget Inn Williamsport is a nice basic hotel. Located on the outskirts of the city you can still drive anywhere in the town in 10 minutes. I stayed here overnight while hiking Ricketts Glen and was pleasantly supplied. Using the Hopper app this was the least expensive option for an overnight stay in the area. Finding the hotel was easy with Google Maps. Check-in was handled well and the gentleman was very friendly. I left early so there was no one for check-out, just left the key on the front desk. No breakfast is currently being served. The hotel is setup with 2 floors, it seems smoking rooms down and non-smoking upstairs. All rooms face out on the parking lot. No elevator, a set of stairs at each end allow access to the 2nd floor. Room itself was a bit small, but nicely decorated; king bed, desk and chair, dresser, comfy chair, small fridge and microwave. Medium sized flat screen TV with full cable across from the bed. Small bathroom, but clean and fully functional, although the showerhead may be a bit low for anyone over 6'. Overall this was above average for an inexpensive hotel; very good for an overnight stay. Well worth consideration if can get a good price and are looking for a good, clean basic motel room. read more

If you are looking for a cheap place to just crash for the night then this is your place. Ac works, beds are comfy and the neighborhood is quiet so you aren't hearing trains, cars, music or yelling all night. HOWEVER!!!! If you are looking for perfect, this is NOT your place. We had several "minor" issues that anyone could have complained about but we just roll with things. Broken bathroom mirror, dented fridge, no ice in the ice machine, clogged tub drain and less than half a roll of tp with no extra roll to refill with. Would stay here again, but all we need is a place that's cool to lay our heads and clean up a little. read more

Please do not listen to any of the negative reviews Some people will complain because they live for it. I work for a huge company and have stayed in some very expensive rooms and I have to say this one is bigger and nicer and cleaner than most all of them. The quality and the price are second to none and I am typing this while I am sitting on the bed enjoying my stay. I am a repeat customer and my wife and I will never pay the big money when you can get a deal like this. the owner is very personal and he will treat you like family. Initally we book it because it has pretty decent rating on Booking.com. However, my experience reveal otherwise. Definitely DON'T book this place if you have other option around the area. My friends and I were on the road trip (5 of us) and booked two double bed room for a quick layover (each room should have capacity for 4, but just want to get some quick rest on bed). We arrived at 4:15 am ish to check in but the receptionist guy was rude and not responsive. He gave us two single bed rooms, which were not what we paid for and we couldn't get into the room with the key. We were so tired and sleepy and don't want any confrontation with him. We checked out less than 3 hours later. I then ask them to credit us back some fee because they charged us double bed rooms and gave us single bed but only got response of accusation saying that we have one extra people that they actually need to charged me extra. I understand that such place is not meant to have great experience but at least provide me what I paid for. We have been to so many hotels, motels, lodges and etc, but this was definitely the worst experience we ever had. SO AVOID it if you can. read more

We got there and planned on staying for an extended amount of time so the owner Bob wanted us to cancel our third party reservations to book with them directly because "we were good honest people and our information could get compromised. And it saves him paper work" very shady. We got in the hotel and it had a dirty towel on the floor and food crumbs on the counter. Broke microwave, remote, and no clean towels, and since it's just Bob and his wife, when reported it nobody came to fix it and everyone went MIA. We were in a "premium room" and it had rats that were gnawing through our things, and roaches the size of small mice. The Beds were hard and uncomfortable, but in Williamsport you don't have many options. You get what you pay for but I would avoid at all cost! Oh! And one more thing, the "free breakfast" is dry corn flakes with no milk and coffee that might as well been dirty water. Nothing more nothing less. read more

My two friends and I were driving home from a wedding and stopped in Williamsport. About an hour before arriving, I looked on Hotwire on my phone and found this hotel advertising one double bedroom for three people (max 4) at about $67 for the night plus tax. To confirm availability, I called the hotel and inquired with the receptionist, who told me there was availability for a double bedroom for three adults at $69.99. I thanked her and proceeded to book online. During that time, the page refreshed and the search reset to a default setting for two adults, which I didn't realize or think much of at the time, so I continued and booked and paid for the room successfully. By the time we arrived it was already past midnight and two of us were already sleeping, so the friend driving checked us in. When she came out she was visibly upset, and woke me and told me about how the receptionist charged her an extra $10 fee because she'd mentioned that there were three of us, and it said two on the reservation. The woman had insisted that two adults and two children were fine, but three adults (for a room with two double beds!) incurred a $10 fee. She also told my friend that if she didn't like it, she could "find somewhere else to sleep" and was extremely rude and nasty with her from the moment she realized the booking had been made online. My friend, who is not as experienced as I am with hotels, reluctantly paid the fee, which the woman tried to insist she pay cash but she had no cash, so used her card (and was charged $10.99). I said not to worry about it, and that I'd talk to someone in the morning when we checked out. The room itself was less than acceptable under any normal circumstances. As soon as we walked in it hit us with the strong odor of mildew, which we opened the windows to air out. There was a questionable stain on the carpet and the beds were so hard that it was only slightly more comfortable than sleeping directly on a box spring. The "complimentary breakfast" advertised the next morning was nothing more than a few packaged muffins and danishes and two browning bananas. There wasn't even anything to drink: no milk, orange juice, even water. Needless to say, we had to get breakfast elsewhere. The real fun started when we went to check out. I approached the woman behind the counter, who my friend confirmed was the same one from the night before. I asked her politely about the charge and she immediately became defensive and nasty. She said it was policy, and I asked to see anywhere this was written down. She refused to show me any proof of such a policy even existing. I also told her I'd called and she said it was $69.99 for three people, and that was about what I paid online (save for $2) plus taxes, which ended up coming to nearly $79. She called me a liar and said I only paid about $50, but then said that was all she received because the travel agency took out commission. I said as a customer that shouldn't be my business, and that from my end I spent the same price I would have spent anyway, and she said "but you didn't book through me, you booked through Expedia, so I didn't get all the money." She made it very clear that she created this "policy" because she was upset that we had booked online and she had to pay commission. I told her that wasn't my fault as a customer, and if she was unhappy with using travel agencies then perhaps she shouldn't advertise through them. At that point she insisted I leave the property, I wasn't welcome, and even threatened to call the police. She said I wasn't getting my money back and it"didn't matter" what I said. She also adamantly refused to show any written policy regarding charging $10 for a third person in a four person room. Her teenage son came to the door and began yelling at us to leave, and I went outside and called Hotwire. While I was on the phone, her son came out and started yelling profanities at us as she watched. We left and finished the call on the road. I ended up getting reimbursed $10 through Hotwire, but the whole experience was just disgusting. As a well-seasoned traveler and frequent hotel guest, I have never had any sort of experience like this one (and I've stayed at hotels all over the globe, from cheap one-star motels to lavish five-star resorts). The owners' behavior was absolutely appalling and completely unprofessional. I will obviously never go back there again, and I recommend everyone avoids this place like the plague. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life of travel. Before reading my review, please know that I have been to many establishments and am extremely forgiving when things aren't perfect. That being said, the manager of this establishment, Bob, is a crook. On May 26th I had a stay booked for one night through booking.com and couldn't make it because I was sick with the flu and had a fever and could not travel the 4 hours from NYC. Bob said he would grant me a credit for my next stay and that I would still be charged for this one. I agreed and he sent me a text confirming so that I could show the text to the front desk reception and not have to pay when I stayed my next time which had to be within one months' time. This is all he told me. I booked again through booking.com and stayed on June 9th for one night. I showed the receptionist my text message during the check in and she gave me the all clear. On Monday morning I see that my bank account was charged the full amount for one night. I show proof of this to Bob and ask him very politely how we can go about fixing this mistake. He tells me he will call me later to help me with the situation. I wait hours and finally text him back and said I was awaiting his call. He calls me a few minutes later and tells me that because I booked through a third party, he cannot refund me because he has to pay them a commission. He said I should not have booked through a third party and I said "but you did not mention that to me when you told me to come back". He said "I don't need to explain anything to you". He also said he would not call booking.com to resolve the issue because he didn't want to be on the phone for an hour. He offered me a credit and I said I didn't want a credit, I wanted a refund and so he said then there's nothing left to do here. Why would I want to stay at this place again after how I was treated? If you don't care about this type of management where you stay then as far as the room is concerned, there were dead bugs in every corner, the bathroom smelled of mildew as soon as you walk in, the bed is hard and uncomfortable and the carpets smelled musty and the queen bed advertised is actually a full bed so it was a very uncomfortable sleeping situation. The good parts were that it had a fully functional kitchen which I didn't use but appreciated it being there and they have decent coffee. I would absolutely avoid this place because there are SO many better options in the area like the Genetti who have comfortable beds and the best free full breakfast in town or if you're looking for the cheapest in town then you're better off with the red roof inn who may still be upgrading their facilities but at least they have better customer service, a pool, a gym and free breakfast AND are cheaper than the budget inn AND they accept pets. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. They don't care about their customers, only about money. read more
