Parking is to the side a directly in front. The lot was clean. I can only speak to what my son said and his experience with the trainer Jermey. He felt the strengthening session with core focus was great! Around 25 athletes participated. Vault is a full service gym that offers programs that fit your goals. Group and team training appears to be a specialty. Furthermore they also do athlete development. Personal Training can be scheduled. They also recently included Physical Therapy. A possible limiting factor is that only one shower is available. Based on my son's experience I would return and recommend.

When Coach Ted opened his new gym we wanted to check it out and see the good work him and his wife were putting into their new venture. This Jiu Jitsu gym is unlike the others locally, it is not all about revenue, profits or competition. They are very family oriented and the most affordable around town. Not only is it affordable but they offering great quality training. They offer kids classes, adult classes, women defense classes, open mat training and private lessons. They accept all levels of Jiu Jitsu. Also first week is free. They don't do contracts, it is month to month so you are not stuck with a membership if you decide Jiu Jitsu is not for you. Coach Ted's daughter, Christina is very famous in the Jiu Jitsu community. She competed for years and won gold in many world wide competitions. You will also get to see Christina on the mat training as well. The gym is very clean, and a pretty good size for training. They offer free open mat time for kids and adults on Wednesdays which is where you will get to see people from all gyms come and hang out and roll. Another thing I love is coach Ted is all about the love of the sport and not pushing people to compete or to pay more for every little thing the gym offers. KRA offers youth sports such as tee ball, baseball, fast pitch softball, football, basketball and cheering. You can register online or in person when they hold sign-ups. This review is only for the tee ball program. Our son played tee ball with KRA in the Fall of 2010 and Spring of 2011. He had a different coach each time. Both were nice, patient guys and good with the kids, but the first coach was far superior to the second in that he wasn't soft spoken and could lead the team. Kids in the tee ball age group need a lot of firm direction. When my kid is on that field, whether it be practice or a game, coach is in charge. You do as coach says the first time he says it. It can still be fun, but if the whole team is sitting around playing in the dirt, no one is getting anything out of that. Either way, I give these guys a lot of credit for their patience. The kids received team hats and shirts that they were able to keep. The shirts were not personalized with their names. The parents buy their child's glove, pants, socks and cleats. We found little bat bags at Target for $10. The beginning of the season seemed disorganized. After sign ups it took an awful long time to find out when practice would start. I don't understand why practice start dates wouldn't be set ahead of time. I know each team practices at a different time and place, but I couldn't even get an answer to what week practice would start. Once practice did start, the seasons ran smoothly. The coaches were provided with practice equipment, including batting helmets. In the Fall season we traveled to different locations in the area to play, and home games were played at the fields by the Rec Center. The Spring season all games were played at the Rec Center. That was so much more convenient. Overall, our experience with the tee ball program was OK. I know it's run by volunteers, so it is what is is. I don't know how the other programs are run. We did football and basketball with West Kempsville Youth Athletics in 2011 and loved it, so we tried out tee ball with them this year. That review is coming next. I would say that the KRA Tee Ball program is better than the West Kempsville Tee Ball program, but I'm not a huge fan of either. Next year we are going to try out the Kempsville Pony Baseball league. Today was our first visit to this site, host of the 2018 Little League 8 District tournament. I…read moreswore my GPS was pranking me because it is tucked away in a neighborhood. Main parking lot fills quickly and can be tight to navigate leading up to game times; there's a gravel driveway near the far left field that leads to an ancillary lot with 10 more spaces. Look for the dumpster. They offer 5 ball fields in total: 1 "major" level field with metal fencing and full protective netting, 1 "minor/coach pitch" level field with extended metal fencing and 3 other "minor/coach pitch" level field with sparse metal fencing. Each has their own scoreboard and announcer boxes; the snack bar is tucked beneath the third field's announcer box. Sadly, the PA system for the third field was mostly inaudible buzzing and 100% HORRIBLE, as if it were from radio shack or Montgomery Wards in 1970. It's your child's big moment to be introduced/announced but the sound is worse than a broken drive through system. #Fail. I'm no conspiracy theorist but there was a weird working vs non-working audio correlation depending on which team required the announcement, not in our team's favor! As for field playing conditions: lines were chalked, grass was cut, infield was fairly raked and an orange temporary fence was installed to reduce the outfield boundary. The dugouts were the usual caves with a long wooden bench for ball players. There are metal bleachers for spectators but beware of the off-field lack of shade; there's nowhere to hide from the sun. Also, there are no playgrounds or buffer spaces for non-player children!
