You would be seriously mistaken to not hire Yumiko and the Hana team. Never could I imagine I would find such a wonderful and reasonably priced florist for my black tie wedding. Yumiko took my vision and executed it beyond my expectations. She is a true professional with an extensive knowledge in her field which enables her to make dreams come true within peoples' budgets (something she was always so wonderful to make sure was clear). I can't tell you how refreshing it felt to have a wedding vendor that I knew was not ripping me off. Not only that, I found a friend in Yumiko. She was recommended to me by my wedding planner who has worked with Yumiko for many weddings and that recommendation was the best I could've received. Yumiko was fabulous with communication, was very upfront about any costs and remained flexible to insure my peace of mind on my wedding day. Yumiko made every accommodation I asked for without hesitation. I wanted my bouquet for pictures 30 mins away from our venue? She drove them over in her car personally. The Hana team was early, professional and honestly better than I could've imagined. Although I live about an hour away, I am such a fan of Yumiko and her floral shop that I have driven up there to buy flowers from her and support her business since my wedding and will continue to do so in the future. It is really rare and wonderful to find such a kind wedding vendor who made a stressful process feel fun and enjoyable and made my every dream come true. You would be truly mistaken not to hire her! There are a few things I would do differently if I got married again but hiring Yumiko is absolutely not one of them. I will hire her again in the future if/ when I throw more events. read more

Bad customer service. I sent an email about ordering bouquets and boutonnières for my wedding and she responded saying she would be able to accommodate us. I emailed back saying I'm so happy she will be able to do it and I wanted to set up a time to talk and heard nothing back. So I waited, and emailed again....and called, still nothing! Yumiko and her team are fabulous. Yes, it may be a bit more expensive than other florists around, but she knows her stuff and creates gorgeous, creative pieces. We used her for our wedding at Harkness. I wanted all greens- ferns, herbs, succulents- and she was great at working through my ideas and coming up with interesting and beautiful options. She was open to changes along the way and is cool if you have your own vases that you'd like to incorporate. I found her pleasant, professional and fun. Her paperwork was clear and easy to understand and she responded to email inquiries quickly. Her attention to detail is impeccable and she knows Harkness so well, she had everything covered without me even having to think about it. I would definitely recommend Hana Floral Design! read more

Yumiko, Beth and the team at Hana Floral were instrumental in making my wedding absolutely gorgeous. Yumiko was really fabulous in hearing the vision I had for my wedding and being able to translate that into the floral design she proposed. She would help me tailor my vision to the flowers she had in season and suggested other flowers I didn't know about. People were really blown away with the beauty of the pieces at and around our reception and ceremony. The flowers were just impeccable. We found Hana Floral when my sister got married two years ago, so this is our second time using them for a wedding. Yumiko & her team are true artists. She literally brought to life exactly the picture I had in my head despite not being entirely sure myself what it was. The flowers at our wedding were the perfect thing to tie the look all together. Additionally, Yumiko herself is involved in the day-of process, which really made us feel like she was invested in our day - and there is so much to be said for that. They allowed us to bring our own vessels & were helpful in pointing us to sites where we could order exactly what we wanted. She was respectful of our budget and was upfront with the fact that they typically take larger jobs. Very good customer service & experience overall. They also decorated the chuppah beautifully. Yumiko worked closely with myself as well as my wedding coordinator, Sarah True, to help us create the most beautiful environment a bride could ask for. When we chose Hana Floral Design we knew that we had nothing to worry about. Yumiko is professional, energetic, and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding design was what my husband and I had envisioned. We got married at Bedell Cellar, a vineyard on the Northfork in Long Island. Yumiko was able to work with the natural elements of a vineyard and incorporate colors where needed. I have to say, I truly felt like a bride when Yumiko personally handed me the most amazing bouquet, the morning of my wedding day. During the planning process for my wedding, there became a common phrase. "If Hana can't do it, I don't want it at all." Yumiko is a very gifted florist and her team is fabulous. This shop is the best of the best and I cannot recommend them enough. I had breathtaking bouquets for my wedding and large arrangements for our ceremony that people are still talking about. Communication was fast and very helpful. Yumiko keeps in contact with her brides right up until it's time to walk down the aisle. Yumiko's work is amazing but she is not customer services oriented. She seems very stressed and overwhelmed. Her proposal was expensive - $5100, where the national average for Wedding flowers is $685. She didn't really listen to what we were looking for and she requires a 20% deposit before even accepting a meeting. I am in the Customer Service industry and she is not at all accommodating. I recommend working with another florist in the area. read more

I worked with Yumiko from Hana Floral Designs to plan the flower arrangements and bouquets for our wedding along with the ceremony décor. Working with Yumiko was so easy due to her extensive expertise in the industry and familiarity with our venue, Jonathan Edwards Winery. I had brought some flower ideas from a website and she helped figure out how to make similar arrangements but unique to my wedding. I appreciated that she made suggestions to substitute certain flowers for comparable ones that would be in season. I had never heard of some and could not envision what they would look like. It turns out the flowers were more beautiful than I could ever imagine! We had luscious arrangements in various shades of purple, with an added touch of peach. Guests were commenting on them all night! The bouquets went perfectly with the bridesmaid dresses and I loved how there was an extra special touch for my maid of honor's bouquet.
