I have been using Colchester Flowers for years to deliver flowers to my mom since she lives locally, (I live in another state), and they've always been great! This time around, not so much. They were supposed to deliver flowers to my mom for Mother's Day on Saturday and never showed, (the excuse was that no one was home - mind you, no one reached out to either me or my mom when she was apparently not home). I called them the next day when they were closed for Mother's Day, and a very nice man happened to answer, found the flowers (that were somehow left behind), and quickly delivered them to my mom. Well, my mom reached out to me to let me know they were all wilted, adding that they looked as though they were left in a car overnight. I decided to call the next day (Monday) to complain about the wilted flowers, and the response I received was - "why don't you have your mom bring them by and we will exchange them for new flowers". Wait, what!? I let the woman on the phone know that my mother does not drive since she's disabled, and that maybe her boyfriend could give her a ride. And she simply replied with, "yes, why don't you have her friend or whoever bring her by the shop". This is just bad business...I couldn't believe her response. I would think as a business owner, you might offer to replace them by bringing a new arrangement to the home or refund the money. My mom ended up calling to let them know she couldn't go there in-person (again, she's disabled), and the woman apparently gave her an attitude over the phone, but then agreed to drop off a new arrangement. Fortunately, the next arrangement was amazing. I have never in my life dealt with such poor Managment, and I'm all for supporting local business, though not this one. I'm still shocked at how they treat their clients. read more

Outstanding customer service!! I had ordered an arrangement thru an online company and paid extra for same day/morning delivery. Received an email notice that am: "Delivery will not be able to be made today, will update you w/ revised date when available". Contacted Colchester Florist and Becky could NOT have been any more helpful if she tried. My BF ordered Roses for me for the day after Valentines Day (its a joke between us) about 1 week in advance. I was supposed to get Red Roses in a Heart Shaped Vase and I received a dozen pink and white tulips in a heart shaped vase. I called the florists because I knew my bf did not send me tulips(I hate Tulips and he knows it) they said they were going to call him and they never did so I instead called the internet flower ordering company that uses them to provide and deliver the flowers and they were so upset with the florists and said that they have a supplemental policy but that tulips are never a substitute for roses, and that I should have recived a diffrent color rose if they were out of red and then they refunded all the money my bf spent on the flowers. This florist shop did nothing to correct the problem. The Tulips were also in bad shape with broken leaves and some of the unbroken leaves were wilted. The flower petal tips were also starting to brown. I would not suggest this florist to anyone. In turn my bf spent $54 on tulips that were supposed to be roses and then had to go to The Stop & Shop Florists to get roses and they put together a Beautiful arrangement of roses and carnations and a lot of filler flowers for $50. I would also like to add that I have just contacted the Colchester florist again today and they said it is my problem to figure out how to get my money back (which I already did but they didn't know that). The lady was so rude and wouldn't even look into what happened. read more
