I have taken 2 courses from HOTT and recent scheduled a 3rd. One of the classes was to be in classroom but was changed late to on-line instructed course. I was not happy but due to time constraints I took the class. The class I recently scheduled was canceled 2 weeks prior to the class. Again not happy as time for the year's training was running out and finding a replacement class will be tough. HOTT did offer another class in January 2019; However when I inquired about attendees they said no one had registered. I need a reliable source for training; I cannot be concerned with classes being canceled. I give the company 2 stars only because the registration staff seems nice and their computer support was responsive and helpful. If not for registration and support staff, sorry fewer stars. Still 3 strikes I'm out as my experience has been less than successful. I cannot afford to try them again. Hopefully others have had better luck. read more

My training was in Irvine, CA. The instructor (Chris) was really good and thorough. They provided books, SQL pocket guide and a CD that has homework/sample for us to work on. The instructor was very responsive after the class with any questions as well. read more

This operation appears to be UK-based but in reality anyone you speak to is in the US, so you can only talk to them in US hours. As part of a major work project I was booked to go to a course with HOTT in Newcastle, UK and they made it sound good on their website and over the phone. After not receiving any joining information I had to ring them multiple times before I got through and found the course was cancelled due to not enough take up. This was less than 10 days before the course was due to start! This put myself and my company in a pretty bad situation as we had to find another provider last minute to do this training. Bottom line is avoid especially if in the UK It is also not Microsoft-certified despite what it says on the website read more

Currently taking a SQL course at H.O.T.T. The Experience has been great. The classes are small, and the combination of instruction and the hands on lab work really help to piece the concepts together. Chris E. is a fabulous instructor. He engages the trainees and explains the concepts using examples. I would highly recommend attending a class that Chris Teaches. read more

- Students work in pairs on the computer and at no point are you allowed to use your own computer for a lab. Somehow managed to get my own computer since I was the odd man out but was told to 'switch with someone else in an hour so I am forced to share a computer'. Against company policy to have your own computer even though website mentions 'students work in teams with active participation' which to most people just means occasionally you work on a lab as a team. They state their policy is to try to encourage the instructor to make sure each student gets to use the keyboard at some point during the labs. - The class size was 11. Company policy states that 11 is a small class size. There are not enough computers in the room individually for 11 people. Some students brought laptops but were asked to stop using them. - No internet in the class. If you want to do research on what you are working on, you won't be able to do this. - No powerpoint slides, no overhead projector, just an old fashioned whiteboard. Company policy states it adds no value to learning. - This forces the instructor to read the textbook line by line. The instructor I had for the SQL course wasn't even explaining the content other than reading the lines. - Computers are at least 4-5 years old (Pentium II) despite being told that they are faster computers built in an older case. For $1500, you would think the monitors would be larger than 19 inch. - Not enough installation media so you have to share once each pair is done installing the software. This wastes valuable time that can be spent learning the topic - When I decided to leave and self-study at the hotel, HOTT decided to go through the trouble of finding my employer online and notifying them without contacting me first to find out what the problem with the course is - When I approach HOTT for a refund, was told that everything mentioned above is part of company policy in an email and that no refund would be provided. read more

My experience with this company was mixed.. It was great, top of the world, the first time but the last time I had the training, instructor was literarily reading from the teaching material and did not seem to have a clue of what she said.. So in summary, awesome the first time and awful the last time... I had multiple trainings with this company over the span of more than 10 years but the last experience really made me think twice to go with this company again given there are lot of more quality and free training on the internet. Why pay a couple thousand bucks to come in and listen to the instructors reading word by word from the teaching materials? Disappointing... read more

Hands on Technology Transfer is the absolute worst. They cancelled my class after taking my payment, promised me another course in Chicago, but cancelled that as well and then asked if I could go to Masachusettes to take the class. Huge inconvenience for me! I decided to get a refund! read more

I have taken the C# Programming course and the SQL Programming course from HOTT. I am currently signing up for the WPF for Experienced C# Programmers course. They have always been extremely thorough and well organized. All instructors were knowledgeable and willing to help. Their main concern is that you get the training you came for. read more

Very bad experience with the UK division of this company. Booked a TDD course with them for the Liverpool centre only to be told 2 weeks before that the course was not running due to under subscription. Enquired about the other centres that were supposedly running on the same day...only to be told that none were running, strange! I was then given the option to "Remote Attendance" a course that was running in the US. Time difference was a joke...training from 14:00 - 22:00? Totally not suitable. Rebooked for the next "scheduled" course date at the same course centre some 2 months later. Then again two weeks before the course is due to run I get an email saying that the course was not running due to under subscription and would I like a "Remote Attendance" for a course running in the US! If I wanted an online course I would have booked an online course...absolute joke! I did have reservations at the time of booking...how can a company offer the same course in 16 training centres around the UK on the same day? Sadly I gave them the benefit of the doubt, how wrong I was. Avoid this company...go to the more reputable well known UK training providers. read more
